I think bob's a great teacher although a lot of people would disagree with me. His instruction style is clearly vague but it motivates the student to work and seek solutions to problems we encounter. furthermore, he is very helpful with his students.

Bob is a great instructor, and due to his extensive experience in the real world, he is able to impart knowledge as it relates to actual situations. He always had time for me even with another student. I never knew math could be this fun!

Bob Ain is an enthusiastic teacher that I recommend. The math department has a lot of questionable teachers, but Ain is one I would take. He is available for office hours and is very positive/encouraging. However it requires considerable amounts of study time. Again, compared to many math teachers, he's not bad.

Bob Ain once told me that there are some guys who actually wish they were 53 years old.... the guys that are 54. Oh BOBBY!!!! Great teacher. Best 124 teacher you can have, no joke.

This class was a breeze. I never went except to take tests. You would go in at the beginning of class and then you could leave if you wanted to. This class was easy!

This was the 3rd time that I had to take the class (yeah, pathetic I know), and I'd have to say that he was the best teacher that I had. Bob is very helpful & makes sure that you understand the subject. He does give homework (for your benefit) and quizzes & stuff, but its all worth it. If you put in the effort, you'll do fine.

Bob was a fun teacher. He assigns a lot of writing assignments which gets pretty repetitive. Overall the class was pretty cruise. Visit him during office hours because it will be to your benefit since answers to vocab quizzes are posted by his door :D

He's extremely nice and he'll make sure you understand everything. If you don't get it in class then go see him during his office hours. He posts aswers to quizes so you'll benefit. The writing assignments got boring but all you have to do is write something and you'll get full credit.

He is a very energetic and eager to help students learn. He is willing to help you if you need it. He gives pop quizes on every chapter so I recommend to go visit him in his office hours because he gives you the answers there. A few writing assignments not hard but annoying. A bit goofy at times but tries to make the material interesting.

math 126 is precalc I, which is basically a review of algebra. i'm good at algebra, so i'm biased in saying this class was easy. but even if you're bad at math, bob will give you opportunities to boost your grade with bs essays you'll get A's on, homework quizzes, & test makeups. a ton of people got A's in my class. he's confusing sometimes though.

Math 124. Bob was confusing at first, once my grade started to slip I went into his for help every class day and he was a HUGE help. Hes quite nice! willing to spend time and work with you! He does hoomework out of the text and does quizes on reading the chapters in the text.

Relating to the other comments, lets just say that if your taking math 096 you should still be in middle school! This instructor is dedicated and soooo helpful! I hate math and actually was scared of taking college math, I am a senior in college now and thanks to him I have a new perspective on any math course! GREAT PROF!

LOVED this class! His class was made up of mostly quizzes & exams, and he isn't lenient when it comes to grading. BUT- he grades on a curve so you don't have to worry too much! He's the type of teacher who wants everyone to understand, and wants everyone to pass! And he's really understanding. GREAT compared to my other math professors.

Mr Ain is a great math teacher. He takes the time to show you how to do problems IF YOU ASK. Speak up and learn. He uses the web well, posting study guides and practice tests online. Homework is also done online - which takes some getting used to the system-but it's not hard. Some writing assignments: convince him of your reasons = good grade.

He is always available for help after class, which is nice because he hardly answers any questions during class. He also made us write several essays and create a five page math portfolio which was such a waste of time, and probably the biggest load of crap I've ever written!

Professor Ain is awsome!! If you are like me..horrible at math, does mad on exams but works hard on homework then his class is perfect. He always is available to help and when you go get help, he gives you the answers to the pop quizes. He always gives you a REALLY similar practice exam and takes a day to show how to do every problem on it! AWSOME!

Bob is cool, he will help you alot if you dont understand in the tuoring center. I agree with the other comments, to stay ontop of the vocab in the book he loves to make POP QUIZ's on those and just come to class casue he has an attendince sheet and study the review tests ALOT! thats where all the finals/tests come from, he just changes the numbers

i dont like math! show up to class he passes around an attendance sheet. The first test is review but you MUST try to do your best. This will help your grade when tests get hard. Bob is a good teacher in the lectures but the best thing ever is office hours! he helps you succeed and I did with a B. remember.. I HATE math and always pulled C's in HS.

I am in the class now and though I am doing well, he is very unclear. But if you are able to go to his office hours he is more that willing to help you. He doesn't answer too many questions during class and his test are challenging but not too hard. If you have the time to go to his office hours do it because he has favorites in his class

I've taken Bob for Math 96/Math 124, and honestly, its really what you put into it. If math isn't your thing, then I suggest taking him. He is always willing to help and he always encourage you to take every opportunity in tutoring centers. Tests are difficult and grading is rough..but he gives a lot of useless work to gain extra points by the end!

He cares about his students, but very few pass his class. You will need to put in extra time to work on math problems outside of class time and homework time in order to pass. He's there to help, it's just a matter of how much effort you put in.

If you put effort into this class, you'll be fine. DON'T show up late, participate as much as you can, and make yourself known to him. If you make the effort to stand out in the class, it'll show him you care about your grade. He loves when you go to his office hours.

This is college. If you want something easy, don't take a math class. The instructor at least breaks down info into understandable material. Honestly, he's the best teacher you're going to have for this class. But it's up to you to do the work. Online assignments, pop quiz, attendance, tests and extra credit. Great teacher. I'll take him again.

This class can be easy if you just study and do the homework on time. It is also wise to take advantage of the extra credit opportunities. He is a good teacher if you just give him something to work with. I got an A in the class and I got a B on the last three tests including the final.

Good teacher if your good at math. Worst thing about him is that he handwrites the notes so it can be confusing and he is a little unclear. The textbook will be your best friend. Tests are pretty hard, so study. He is very helpful and offers a lot of extra credit. Online hw is easy-ish. Bummed I got a B. BY THE WAY, DO MATH EVERYDAY.

I am currently taking Bob for Math 124 and he is the best instructor. Yes class time goes by fast so he may not be able to breakdown every problem. However, he has office hours almost every single day! and he tutors on Fridays. He is a very honest and straight forward professor, he will help you succeed. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TAKING BOB AIN.

Bob is a little unlcer sometimes, but overall he is a great teacher. He is older so a little wiser and he helps with anything that anybody needs. He is encouraging and was one of my most enthusiastic, and hilarious teachers I have had so far at UNLV. Highly recommended. DO MATH EVERYDAY

Although Bob doesnt supply the class with clear notes, he is very clear when he explains how to do a problem. He also makes everyone practice problems in front of the class so everyone learns together. He works really hard to make sure everyone understands the material. I would recommend taking him!

Bob is a great teacher. You get what you put into it. His offline homework is almost EXACTLY what the tests will be like. So if you care about your grade at all and actually try you will be fine. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS. If he sees that you care he will do whatever it takes to help you out. Show him you care about your grade and you will succeed!

I took the accelerated Math 96/Math 124 class. Do the offline homework like your life depends on it, go to his office hours, and go to the math tutor clinic if you have any questions. The tests are easy if you study. Everyone who is complaining about a bad grade should have tried harder.

I'm writing this years after taking Bob's class and I must say he still gets my upmost respect. Very reasonable teacher, but you all must realize that Math is an exact science and he has to grade answers and work shown, not fluff. His office hours were VERY helpful. I talk to Bob whenever I see him on campus and we have great talks about math.

You will probably fail as most students either dropped or failed. I would guess about 5 people passed the class starting with about 30. I had an A- going into the final and ended up with a C in the class. The final is BRUTAL and worth 30% of grade. Study EVERY day or like I say, you will fail. Do not take this class lightly. Best of luck.

Excellent professor. If you ask he'll show you what you need to know. HW is very important, but super, super easy to get points on. Tests are vital. Practice is vital. Nicest guy I've ever known, good to the students. NO PARTIAL CREDIT. Super annoying, but whatever. Kinda fast pace, but he has the class practice together at the end, very helpful!

Math is definitely not my best subject and I started off the semester poorly but Bob does an amazing job of really working with students and trying to help them improve to where they will be able to pass. He isn't easy but if you just work with him, he will help you a lot. Also if you are down a lot in the class.. DONT QUIT. He will help.

I took bob ain because he was one of the few professors left to choose from. I read the reviews and I was terrified to take his class because I am terrible at math. But don't worry! As long as you put in the effort you will pass! I recommend going to the math tutoring center. He gives A LOT of homework but it honestly helps prepare you for the test

I dont understand why the reviews are as bad as they are, Bobs one of the best math teachers Ive ever had and I took my senior year off from math. Yes theres lots of homework, but its manageable if you dont let it pile up and it really does prepare you for the tests. Hes always helped me when Ive asked for it and his lectures are clear/funny

Professor Ain is an amazing professor who really wants his students to succeed. He is extremely informational and believes in his students more than we believe in ourselves sometimes. Bob will work with his students to ensure they pass this class and that is what he did with me. I went from a 21 percent to a 90% all because he worked with me!!!

Bob Ain really cares about all of the students. He will always try to give you the ability to pass his class even if it may seem like you have no chance. HE gives a lot of work but he also tells you how to succeed. He is very organized and on time. He is very clear with how he wants everything to look as well as having a website he updates weekly.

All you have to do is show up to class, pay attention, and complete the homework and you will be fine. The people who complain about this class aren't willing to put the work in. He offers many extra credit opportunities so if you don't pass the class it's on you.

Bob is a great teacher, in my opinion. This opinion, I know, was not shared by most of the class. If you are an independent learner, this is the class for you. This class is easy if you are the type of person to read the textbook, which is an easy read, and come to class prepared. He also gives study guides for tests, they're extremely helpful!

It's really rare to find a professor that actually cares about seeing his students pass. He makes sure you understand everything, gives you enough material to help you learn and more. His way of teaching actually made me want to keep practicing on my own time and get a good grade. Use the practice resources he gives you they help immensely

Professor Ain is a very unique teacher. He doesn't really teach you per say, most of what you learn is coming from teaching yourself out of the book and previous knowledge. I will say however, that he is very nice and pretty understanding/accommodating. You do however NEED to show up for class and do your work or you will FAIL like many do

He is by far the most chill and realist professor Ive had. He is super funny and knows how to keep the class engaged. His workload is normal to heavy, and grading is fairly lenient, but i learned more in this class than most of my hs math courses. Would take again for sure.

Bob is hands down my favorite math professor I've ever had. He forms great connections with everyone in his class and makes sure we understand the material. Bob was such an interesting professor. But he truly cared that you were understanding the work. A lot of work however, and you had to buy MyLab to get to the book. He was a nice guy.

Bob is very kind. He is very old school and doesn't use Canvas. The grade you get on the class is a reflection of the effort you put in for his class, so don't be intimidated by the reviews. Do the homework, take home quizzes, and the 1 1/2 page essays and you don't have to get an A+ in every test. He is easy to talk to too and very understanding.
