Not often will you find a teacher who can actually teach and make it fun. Mr. A is the coolest teacher you could possibly get. When it comes to grading, he can be tough. But if you do the material right, you can walk out with at least an B. He is also one of the funniest teachers there.

Dr. Alderson is one of the best professors at GPC. He expects college level work and grades tough, but his class is great preparation for a university. He uses maps and internet resources to enhance his lectures. Take good notes, and write all you know for his tests.

Took U.S. History II. Great class and you'll definitely enjoy the lectures. This guy goes off on some killer rants! The key here is, take notes verbatim from lecture. The big part of the tests are essays and I never used the book once because he goes in to so much detail in class. Simple A.

Dr. Alderson is great. He talks alot about things most teachers don't- sex, drugs, and rock and roll. I took him for six weeks just so that he could be my professor. Great teacher. Tests are straight from his lectures so pay attention and take good notes. An easy A if you can pay attention.

Listen you guys! Let me tell you like it is. This is the best history teacher ever. The work may seem like a lot and the quizzes and test, but Dr. Alderson works with you. He is very funny and will make you laugh. All you have to do is study your work and you will pass. He is the best, you will not regret it.

I took his teleweb course (U.S Hist 1112). Excelent teacher, there are not enough words to explain how helpful he is. Just follow the directions and pay attention on the telecourse guide you will make it. Concentration from you and easy "A" from him.

Alderson is very helpful. The class it tough since it requires alot of reading. Read the chaps & watch the videos and use google & wikipedia to take quizzes, and you should at least get a B if not an A.

Dr. Alderson is an amazing professor; he's just a little hard to follow during lecture. He doesn't go in order of the text, so don't expect that to happen. However, read your text - you'll need the facts for exams! Get to know Wikipedia very well! He notices if you take notes or not, so TAKE NOTES! (You will need them for your exams!)Be quiet!

took him mini mester and you will work for your grade. If I did it I know anyone can. You will write a lot so you really have to know the information. don't miss a class and take excellent notes because u will need it, hell ask if you can record him (maybe not) but you'll b sure to pass then or just type as fast as he talks. The only hard thing i will worn about, is that you need to really memorize the lecture notes. remember the notes that he covers and you should do great. He gets off topic a lot! And enjoys surfing the web during class but it is interesting. He will answer emails if you have any questions and gives a studdy guide at least a week before each test. Tests are half multiple choice and half essay, but you know the topic of the essay portion before getting the test so you di have time to study.

Took online minimester. So easy it's ridiculous; 8th grade level. The easiest A of my college career.

Prof. Alderson is a great teacher. Te material is easy, just read, do your work and participate in the discussions, it will help you at the end. I could have gotten an A but got a B because I missed a quiz and I didn't participate in the discussions. GREAT CLASS ONLINE!

GREAT Professor; he helps you when you have questions. Extra credit available for quality online postings to the message boards. Easy class, I took it online and got an A. Be sure to READ your text and participate in the discussion boards and you will do fine, with an A. The exams are a little more challenging, but study and you will do well. A++++

I took the class online. He is a good teacher, keeps the class simple. Each week there is a chapter to read and a quiz. The only grades are chapter quizzes, a mid-term and final (all multiple choice). He gives a good chance for extra credit, so its easy to pass if you put the effort into it. Highly recommended!!

He is not a hard teacher at all. I just finished his class online.He is strict on his grading process. Online classes are open book tests. Of course he is not going to make the test easy, but they were not hard. If u don't read the chp u will get bad grade. Its all on u. Discussions are not mandatory, and will earn u extra 10pts on overall grade

Prof Alderson was so cool! He keeps the class awake and he is VERY smart! You do have to work and study pretty hard to get a good grade on test which half of it is essay but it is doable. He gives essay questions in advance so that you can study for it. I think he's great at what he does!

I took this class online. Alot of reading is required BUT it is VERY doable. The class is very simple, you read the chapter and take the chapter test each week. There is not such thing as an easy A. Extra credit is offered. I can out with an A. Ohh yeah!! NO WRITTEN PAPERS ARE REQUIRED

I took this class online. He is very laid back and responds quickly to emails. weekly chapter quizes(open book) and the mid term and final. Discussion questions were extra credit. The course is very easy if you in fact read the material and there is no paper required. Loved him got a B, could have gotten an A.

We had three essay test and a paper. So unless you like writing and do it well don't take this class. He does not go by the book. His class is interesting but he goes on tangents. TAKE NOTES. He's not an easy teacher. He's funny and I enjoyed his class but would never take another one from him.

LOVED him. Doesn't follow the text, but gives you everything you need to know in his notes. 3 tests with 10 matching and an essay. If you don't like to write essays don't bother taking him. Really fun and easy to get along with! Deff would take him again.

A very refreshing class. He presented the information in a clear and consistent way. Gave plenty of advance warning regarding the difficulty of his class, so slackers can drop. He obviously enjoys what he does and it shows. There were days when I was upset the class was over. All tests are essays.

If you don't like crude jokes and sometimes 1/2 class long tangents, don't take this class. If you can stand them however, you'll not only enjoy this class, but actually learn quite a bit from this very knowledgable and hilarious professor. Alderson... better than a cup of coffee at 8am.

I'm not a fan of History...Mr. Alderson does tell a lot of crude jokes and goes off on tangets, but it kept things interesting. (If you are easily offended, I wouldn't recommend him.) He does not use the textbook, but you have to take DETAILED notes...his outlines are not available outside of class, so make sure you attend all classes!!! His test

Don't buy the txtbk! All the notes come from his lectures. He talks, you write it down. Those will be your only source for the tests and in-class essays. Skipping makes it harder, and attendance counts so show up! He is very funny, tells crude jokes but if you aren't into that, don't take him. Be prepared, you'll be fine! Take him over Pabis!

One of my favorite teachers ever. You will not have a single class that you don't laugh at least once. Study hard and joke with him in class. You will have a good time. I highly recommend taking him. He is super willing to help with anything you need. Don't buy the text book, you wont use it. And start studying when the study guide comes out.

It is not easy, but if you do what you're supposed to and take notes, you'll be fine. You're always gonna laugh. Joke with him, it's fine as long as you time it correctly. I've taken 3 out of 4 of his classes already and I'm gonna work on the fourth.

If you offend easily do not take him...but I must say his class is not really hhard if you take good notes from his lectures. We did use the book though for quizzes which were all open book quizzes online this was a hybrid course we only met once a week.I would take him again. If you are not a good note taker do not take him at all.

Dr. Alderson is a really fun guy and he really knows his history. You have to take really good notes from his lectures, and if you miss a day of class you HAVE to get notes from a friend. Every other week we have an open book quiz and on the lecture quizzes you use your notes. Your final will be an essay. My favorite class of all time!

One of my favorite professors, great sense of humor & keeps most of his classes interesting. Moderately difficult weekly quizzes. Only advice I have is to show up & not sleep, text, or do anything disrespectful to him. Those are some of his pet peeves, & he will make it known.

Take this class and you wont regret

This was a great online class. You will use your book a lot for the quizzes. You get 15 of those, one midterm, and one final exam plus a short exam on understanding general concepts. I took the accelerated half-semester version and passed with an A.

No papers. Practice quiz (no credit) and quiz for each chap. Midterm and final worth most of grade -few questions come from quizzes. Discussions are extra credit - this is genius, because I don't like discussions. The book is easy to follow, which helps you read for longer. The clear block syllabus made my life easy. Bottom line- TAKE THIS CLASS.

The extra credit points are all his discussion questions which are the reading questions in the assigned textbook. So all he is looking for to receive all your points is to basically summarize the subheadings in your own words, give him a good paragraph and make sure the page number for quotes are included. Overall easy teacher. Quizzes are easy.

Without doubt an unorthodox professor. Keeps the content interesting and is a delight to learn from. He is parry to genius, take good notes and you have no problem passing his class. LEAVE THE CELL PHONE OFF, it his his pet peeve and he will dress you down for disrespecting him.

Professor alderson can be a bit rude, but only if you break his rules. He asks 3 things 1) that you arrive before him, which isn't hard as he's usually a few minutes late. 2) that your phone is off or on silent and you don't do anything with it in class. 3) take good notes. Literally just copy his slides and you're good. His sarcasm makes it fun.
