I always request to speak with him. He is extreamily helpful and works with you to make sure you are taking the classes you need for your major and to accomplish your goals. By far the best counselor I've spoken with at De Anza. And it is clear that he enjoys his job and helping people.

He is super helpful. I always go to him when i need help. He listens to what you have to say and knows just what you need. He's super chill and down to earth. I recommend you go to him for advice.

Mr.Alexander is a very nice teacher/counselor. If you have common sense, you will most likely pass this class. You will need to study a bit for the exams and write very very simple essays, there is some reading from the textbook, and attendance is mandatory. Wouldn't recommend HUMA20, but Mr.Alexander as a counselor is VERY helpful.

I took coun200, which lasted for 4 days, in the summer. This is a pass/no pass class so as long as you attend EVERY session, submit an educational plan, and take an online final, you're bound to pass! Alexander is extremely helpful and wants his students to succeed. He lets his students out of class about 15 mins early and on the last day, an hour!

Coun 200 was only a few days long, but I went from knowing nothing about college at all to being pretty confident and excited for my first year. Robert was a down to earth professor who didn't single anyone out but still got everyone to participate. I would highly recommend taking his class! Its fun and really helpful.

Robert Alexander is a great teacher overall, he made learning fun. I used to have talking in class and talking in groups, well talking overall but he treats his class like family. He frequently shows that he cares for his students and personally says that he wants his students to succeed. His class is fun, interesting, easy, entertaining NOT BORING

My plan was not to take this course originally, but now I am super glad that I did because I was able to meet this amazing professor. He always brings the class laugh, even the class was hold during the late night at the time when I took the class, it was always enjoyable to be in the class.

This class was amazing! Loved our group discussions. Professor was always accessible and helpful with questions. Most of my grade felt like it was from online homework which was super easy and the test were take home. He also gives you plenty of room for extra credit.

This class was one of the most eye opening and informative experiences I've ever had. He brings amazing guest speakers from all walks of life and there honestly is never a dull moment in this class. The knowledge and insight I've gained is something I will cherish for the rest of my life. If I could take this course again I would.

Took this class because i was unsure of my major but with all the research we do I remembered why i chose this major in the first place. He is a counselor so he does want the best for you but you also have to do the work and show up. All in all this class helped me reestablish the spark.

I was skeptical before taking this class, like how the heck Prof. Alexander can be rated so high. It's really true. Just don't cut class, you will learn all sort of new/horrifying/interesting things from his class. Homework is time consuming, but they are overall easy.

HUMA 10 was one of my favorite classes this quarter. Prof. Alexander adds humor to every class. A couple of guest speakers are brought into class which is great! Learned a lot from them. Homework is easy (read & answer questions online) Would definitely recommend.

This was my first semester at De Anza and I doubt I will get another professor as humorous and understanding as Robert Alexander. I looked forward to coming to class everyday because there was always something interesting to learn. Also, he brings in a bunch of amazing guest speakers who make this class fun and interactive.

Mr. Robert Alexander made this course engaging, fun, and interesting. He has many guest speakers come in throughout the quarter that help understand the curriculum. Participation is required, but he makes sure to make you feel comfortable. His tests are straight forward so if you read the book, it's an easy A!

Robert is a really helpful teacher and is easy to talk to about anything. He brings in guest speakers and you take notes, but theyre all interesting speakers with a lot of helpful information for men and women. You can tel he really cares about his students and their education and offers to even help with counseling since hes a counselor.

I really did not know what I was gettin into taking this class but really appreciated learning new things about sex and different communitie. Also hesring different stories from guest speakers. I will say, It would have been nice to cut down the amount of guest speakers to really learn about the sections and actually discuss each topic.

Took his class because it was a recruitment but I enjoyed every class. Im comonly a student that misses at least 2 class per quarter and I didnt miss one class. I actually looked forward to attending his class because you learned something new each time. I would hangout with friends and even have discussions about this class with them. DEF TAKE !

Honestly one of my best teachers here at De Anza I actually wanted to come to his class instead of feeling like a needed to come. He creates a very fun class for his students. I took his HUMA 10 class and would recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Took his human sexuality class. Easy A. Lots of guest speakers. Straight forward homework. Not a class for people who arent comfortable talking about sex. Participation is mandatory if you want to pass. Only downside is you dont know ur grade unless you email him.

He is a great teacher and cares about all his students. Hes funny and tries to be very understanding for his students. He is really Lenient and wants to make sure you understand the content.

Woooow SO THIS PROFESSOR IS THE TRUTH. As a first-year De Anza student, I was pretty nervous signing up for classes in regards to Human Sexuality but when I asked around EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE recommended Professor Alexander and now that the quarter is coming to a close I can see why. From his amazing lectures to the inspiring guest speakers.

I loved Mr. Alexander's class! His lectures were interesting and funny. There was never a dull moment in his class. I learned so much in this class and it was all useful information that made me feel more grown as a person. I would take this class 100% if I could.

He a very chill professor. He really tries to make the class fun and be interesting by bring in more guests speakers than doing lectures. He dont assignment a lot homework and all his test are take home/group test.

Rob is fun and knowledgeable. He offered way more to us as students than just course material. He really cares about student success given he is a guidance counselor at De Anza. The speakers he brought into class were always entertaining and provided us with different perspectives. If you show up and put in the bare minimum, you'll pass his class.

I took Mr. Robert's Human Sexuality class. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND. Every week we have a guest speaker(s) which makes the class more interesting. Plus, it's easy to talk about sex and sexuality in this class. I learned so many PRACTICAL things about sex-related anything (thank you!). Great class.

As my first college class after a year gap, professor Alexander helped me overcome any doubts I had. Hes welcoming of anyone, which has made my college experience great so far. As long as you show up, participate, do your homework, and score well on take-home tests, youre guaranteed to pass his class.

I took his human sexuality class and I could say that it was a great class and very interesting! would definitely take again.

He had personal problems this quarter so he wasnt as active. EASY A as far as I know. no midterm this quarter and you get 2 attempts at the online final (answers were online). Never graded til after quarter ended and never really replies but as long as you are active on discussions, you'll probably get an A.

I didn't get to know him very well as he was mostly absent during Spring quarter. All I did was self-study on the Pearson website. You need to read the materials and he ask you short answer questions. Easy tests.

10/10 would recommend taking Prof Rob for Human Sexuality. He's very upbeat so it's hard to fall asleep in his class. :) He brings in special speakers from different organizations almost every week to talk about various topics! Lecture activities are very interactive! Txbk is online. However, GET READY TO READ for hw. Tests are easy if u study!

An entertaining and enjoyable lecturer, Prof. Alexander stresses enjoyment of the class activites. Class expectations are clearly set and easily attainable, leading to a low stress environment where the emphasis is learning about yourself by learning along with others.

We talk about very common and relevant issues regarding sex and gender. prof Rob doesn't force his opinions on you at all- he just gives very helpful preventative information and statistics that are good to know. does a good job.

I highly recommend him! He is very easygoing and funny, you learn a lot in his class in a fun way, he has a simple assignments due every Monday with only specific highlighted areas of the book to read (not the whole chapter), lots of interesting easy extra credit opportunities, and he lets you take quizzes twice and gives you study guides! :)

I really enjoyed taking his class. There are writing assignments, Connect assignments, and a few discussion posts. But, just turn in all the assignments on time and the class will be an easy A.

Canvas & hw assignments were easy to manage. Reading material & questions were not difficult to read nor answer as everything was highlighted. Hw & discussions were mostly based on personal opinion. Was a great class to learn further information from what I already knew. Professor was great & thorough of what he asked of his students.

Took his asynchronous Self-Assessment class. I really didn't learn much, and many of the assignments felt pointless to me (like watching inspirational TED talk videos and responding to them). Sometimes we had work due like every other day, and sometimes we had no work at all for the week. Chill and sweet guy, but I wouldn't take this class again.

Very easy class. Most assignments are self-opinion and approachable. He tends to grade stuff when he has time to. The canvas shell is completely disorganized and confusing, some of them are even available since 2020. Never respond to any of my emails whether on Gmail or canvas.
