he is one of the BEST teachers ever..very kool.knows what he teaches and loves teaching..geology might be boring but he makes it interesting and simple and it is THE easiest course to get an A. but there is some reading and memorizing involved which is VERY easy.n the prof is very laid back n understanding.

when i took his class i didnt have a clue of geology, but after his class i decided to be a geology major. he is one of the best prof at York. he clearifies the notes with hand outs and in a perfect lecture. his test are fairlly graded and he gives student a chance to make up.he makes the subject intresting and i highly recomend him to any student

He gives a lot of exams, like he literrally gives exams every week. And all his exams are based on his homework. So he encourages people to do homework. But if you have other important classes, then it will be very easy to fall behind. Because thats what happened to me. But overall he is a very fair professor.

He is one of the best Geology professor at York! His exams are long bt if you study the homeworks and textbook well, then you are good to go! Going to class every week is not mandatory! Jst email him and he will update you and give you the homework. Nevertheless, he is is very helpful and understanding! A good class to boost up your GPA.

Very easy to understand. Makes the subject very clear. There are no suprises on the tests as long as you do your HW and take notes as he lectures. I had him for both Geo110 and 115 and there was no difference in his teaching style.

You get out what you up in, he grades fair and gives extra credit opportunities. Homework is handed in via email. This makes up part of the final grade. You don't have to be perfect, just do your best and know the material, and show him that you know what you are talking about on the test.

Professor Alvey is a highly knowledgable, always on time and is definitely respected by students. He does give HW assignments which will ultimately effect your grade in two ways to answer the hw questions you must read if you understand the answers and questions you ace the test. 4 test not cumulative the final weighs the same as the 1st test.

If Professor Alvey teaches a hundred classes I have to take, I would enroll in all. I am so glad I took his class, now I have clarity on a few things I was confused about especially the Niagara Falls water flow. He is the BEST.

Overall Prof. Robert Alvey is an excellent educator. The methodology how he teaches and explains, it makes me feel immersed in every class. I enjoyed his class as it changed the way how I perceive and understand the world in a geological way, which is very interesting to know how the planet where we live function and behave.

Prof. A is very cooperative. His lecturers are so interesting. A few quizzes and a final. JUst read and listen to his lectures. Also, do his assignments that he assigns for every chapter. It's beneficial for the exams, quizzes. I did average for the first 2 quizzes with 66 points ea. I then studied the assignment and aced it with perfect scores.

I recommend this professor to anyone. He is a great professor. Do all the homework and the test will be identical to the homework.
