Terrific professor who really enjoys teaching. Shows concern and empathy for students, conducts interesting lectures, offers challenging-yet-fair assignments [takehome quizzes]. Sometimes gets off track with personal stories, but an overall great teacher.

Very easy teacher. All Tests are take home multiple choice. Lectures get boring, no attendance list 1/2 the time. Nice and talkative, goes off on his personal life, shows concern. Easy A.

Very Nice guy and he knows his stuff. Warning lectures will put you to sleep and he will talk about his dogs for an entire class. But he gives take home tests! Very very easy.

In my opinion you would have to be mentally retarded not to get an A in his class. He gives take home tests..... MULTIPLE CHOICE TAKE HOME TESTS...... and as if that werent enough he gives them to you 2 weeks in advance!!!!!! Hes easy to follow, great lectures mixed with funny stories. Take him!!

The previous student who rated this Prof. must be nuts ! He probably cut class more than he attended. This Prof. classes are ALIVE, ALWAYS INTERESTING. He blends the past with the present.You will really learn a lot. His exams can be hard, but he always takes time to explain. Definitely take him. If you work you will get a good grade.

Nice guy. He's all over the place but it's ok cause the tests are take home. So you can sit back and enjoy all the "smut" (as he calls it) of Western Civilization. No work load. Patience required.

Awesome!!! I love him, he is funny smart and understanding. Take home tests, he doesn't take attendance...but...he knows if you are not there so don't be fooled! Says "smut" and "little nippers" alot! Highly recommended!

Very funny, entertaining, great teacher. He keeps history interesting and very enjoyable - just the way I like it. Take home tests make life easier, but make no mistakes and pay attention on his class, and you will have the answers in your notes. Have fun, it is the best history class you can take. I'm taking him next sem. again!

I missed just about every other class with him and it barely affected my grade. Take home tests are a little bit hard if you don't pay attention, but hey, they're take home tests. I would just look up the answers on the internet when I was stuck. A really sweet guy, but his class can sometimes become a little boring.

It dont get much better then this guy. He loves History, and will get you to do the same. He acts out certain events which are histerical. Tests are hard but are take home, and if you bring in a dog treat for his dogs he'll bump your grade(no joking). Great teacher, you will learn alot, and you will laugh alot.

i loved his takehome exams but the entire course was his talking about his private life and his trying to give away points to students so that we'd like him. tought exams but they're takehome- nerdy comments, quite boring lectures. take notes, dont' read book. PRETEND YOU LIKE HIM, AND GET AN A.

I was surprised by the previous rater's comments.....This Professor really knows his subject....His lectures are alive and well prepared. He is informative as well as entertaining. I will take him again. One of the best. History was fun for the first time. D'ont be fooled. He knows who does the work and who doesn't . I learned that.

Prof Anzalone is the sweetest guy! He is brilliant & really knows his stuff.True,a bit scattered,but if you listen to him, he will teach you a lot. He is light hearted & pleasant & tries to make learning a good experience.Many would not get thru the course if not for him and his take home tests.I liked him & would take another class with him.

He is the best!! Makes Western Civilization an breeze. Took his class during the summer and he made it interesting considering it was a summer class and nobody wanted to be there. Brilliant man and FUNNY. Take home test.. No HOMEWORK..need I say more...

I took this professor for both His 101 and 102. Best professor at Suffolk by far. DO NOT BUY THE TEXT BOOK, he gives the answers to the take home tests/finale in class but you don't even need to listen if you find him boring just use google. I love his stories, he relates history to his own life

No words can ever say how fantastic this Professor is. I hope God Blesses more students with him. He is one of the most inteligent people I have ever met,he taught me more in one summer then I ever know about American History. In my book he is a A+.

Easy A. Only two tests, both take home. Teaches history like it's a story, which makes it easier for people like me who are not great at memorizing names and dates. My only complaint is that sometimes he goes off on long tangents about his personal life, but if you want an A, definitely take his class.

Ok he is so easy. But you will dread going the entire semester. He is so boring. He is so monotone and dry, you will be falling asleep. If you want to learn anything about history do not take him. If you want to learn about this professors life and have to take his take home tests and learn this yourself, take him. Boring, dreaded the class.

Easy A! Multiple choice take home tests are only grading criteria. Lectures are long and torturous. Attendance not necessarily mandatory since he never takes it. Funny guy always talking about Mrs. Fidditch and the change in the pocket??

Pros: he assigns take-home tests. He is a very experienced, friendly, and overall knowledgeable professor. Cons: lectures may seem long and boring. I barely had the opportunity to ask questions because pauses in the lectures were rare.

Literally show up and you'll pass. There's 3 multiple choice tests that are all take home and you have over 2 weeks to do them. He rambles on and on in his lectures. Nice guy. Easy A

Took a winter HIS 102 class with him. Very easy going, always let us out an hour early. Had a take home midterm, and take home final. Both pretty simple! Would definitely recommend him

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Test were take home and not hard at all! Honestly would've gotten an A in the course regardless but I asked him if I can do an extra credit and he allowed me to do an essay on any history topic of my choice. He is awesome, understanding, and will work with you!

He was going through radiation for his cancer when I had him so he lost track of his thoughts a lot. He never took attendance. He spent the entire class talking about random things in his life instead of the topic and then graded harshly. He was a sweet and caring man but should have taken time off for his health because it can impact grades.

This was the easiest A I ever got. His lectures were boring because I'm not that interested in history, but he would tell stories that were hilarious. Never took attendance. Two take home tests and THATS IT. Don't buy the textbook because you won't need it.

Best professor I've had so far, I wasn't crazy about the class itself considering I had it at 8am and I was always half asleep, but he's a fair grader and barely assigns any work. 1000000% recommend him for western civilization 1.

By far the easiest class I've taken at Suffolk. I almost felt bad how easy he made this course. 3 exams and they were all take home. Was able to find everything online and got A's on all of them. Talked about giving us a paper but never even did it. His lectures are sooo boring, but honestly he's a really sweet old man so I got over that. Great guy

Great professor. He can talk for days, if youre someone who loses interest within 5 minutes. DO NOT take his classes that are 3 hours long. Hes sweet and sometimes very funny. The easiest professor i have took. He grades you only on 2 exams which are both take homes, and given pretty much a month in advance prior the due date. Loved the class

I'm not usually a fan of history classes but I really enjoyed his class. It's a little distracting when he plays with the change in his pocket but his tests are all take-home and he gives you a lot of time to do it, and you don't have to buy the textbook. As long as you pay attention it should be an easy A.

Hes a nice guy, test are take him easy A if you try hard for test. Also he does takes attendance without anyone realizing so be careful with that got an A+ in 101, B+ in 102. Easy class not recommended if you a history major.

This was an extremely easy class. You do three take-home tests and that's it. No homework or papers. Just show up, do the take-home tests, and you'll get a passing grade. Don't buy the textbook, you won't need it. The professor is nice, but his lectures are very long and boring. I recommend him. Extremely easy, but extremely boring as well.

Professor Anzalone definitely wants you to pass. His classes feel very casual and are mostly just composed of listening to him lecture. He's a funny guy who tries to make you laugh while covering history. I never really had to use the textbook. If you're paying attention or well just even trying to pass/do well, then you will succeed in his class.

He makes his lectures easy and classwork manageable. He provides us with notes and rarely a few handouts. He's one of the best professors that I choose. He is funny at times and fair when it comes to grading assignments.

If you're someone who likes to takes notes off powerpoints, this is not the professor for you. He's not exactly tech savvy so dont expect brightspace posts. He lectures throughout the entire class, he is truly passionate about what he teaches which is admirable and he makes a lot of jokes and tries to make the class fun and lively with his stories

The class itself is very easy and broken down into simple take home exams. He's a very generous kind professor, and there's usually no homework. Also the textbook isn't required although on syllabus it says it is…. Overall a good class and professor

His classes are fairly casual, there is not much work to do besides take home exams. His lectures are at times interesting when he brings up stories or jokes. Has a traditional style of teaching so there isn't much technology use in his class. You are meant to have a textbook, however I never used it and was fine(just go on google)
