Dr. Bob is great. I like the way he teaches and pretty much sticks to the rules. He has excellent stories that relate to what we are learning. A must take class

Bob is a great guy, his wife is a wedding photographer. He is a bit tough on test grading though.

I recommend his Human Sexuality class because the material can actually be applied to real life...unlike many other courses and because he is a great teacher. Dr. Bob's has a good sence of humor and the stories he shares with the class bring the textbook to life. Memorize his power points for the test!

Dr. Bob is great. Probably one of the best and most organized teachers that I have had at north. He's funny and witty and really knows what he is talking about. I highly recomend his classes if you want to have a good time.

One of the best classes I've taken at NSCC. Very interesting subject and Dr. Bob has simplified it as much as he can so all you need to do is read your book, attend class and study from the study guide and you will do great. Highly recommend.

Interesting, I would take him again if I had the chance. I recorded his lectures for review, one day a friend overheard one, and changed his schedule to take his class. Overall, awesome experience.

Very interesting class, would like to take more in the future. Some of his stories were off topic, but interesting. I would like to take his Human Sexuality class in the future.

I took his human sexuality class/hybrid--half online half class lecture. He is a no-nonsense but nice teacher, and has some interesting case stories to share. If you need a psych/soc class I would take it, as loong as you can follow the instructions you should do well, but He has no tolerance for slackers.

I thought that his lectures were interesting. I liked that he did not repeat the material out of the book. He gave you real life examples which made remember things easy. He uses 4 multiple choice tests, no final. I liked it. It got me interested in Sociology. :)

This teahcer was very fun, his class is easy if you do the work. It is however pretty hard to 4.0 the class. I got over 90% on all my tests and I got a 3.7. Really fun class and teahcer though.

great teacher tough class. He's funny as hell and poignant to boot. In every psych class there seems to be a "brain dead" group that try and suck the fun outta the class. He blew their minds the first day and the too cool group never did seem to recover.I had an awesome time. hard to get a 4.0 but hey, I don't have a fetish for being perfect.

"Dirty 230" or Human Sexuality- Taken as a hybrid class this class is a lot of repetition. PowerPoint and recordings are almost identical to class lecture, but you have to go to class to get credit for your work. He is a nice instructor and tries to make the subject comfortable to talk about. Great textbook-used little.

Teaches to the test. I found this class to be more like H.S. health than a college soc/psy class. Attend class, do the assignments this should be an easy A. Maybe not a 4.0- still an easy class. Gives chances to make up tests and extra credit. This class isn't as serious a class as other psy. classes I have taken.

Wonderful teacher. His tests are great. He has his students do exam concepts that are so helpful to study wtih for the tests. His teaching style is productive and you dont't get board in his class at all. He makes his teaching intersting. Highly recommended!

He rocks!! I love his style of teaching! it makes me even more into sociology!! easy to get 3.8-3.9, but hard to get 4.0! a unique grading.

Dr. Bob is a gifted teacher. His podcasts are well organized, interesting, and creative. He speaks well and knows how to describe new concepts so the students will understand them. His class is easy only if you listen to the podcasts and read the book. I highly recommend this class.

Dr. Bob is an awesome professor! So far he has been the most organized teacher I have had yet. He prepares you for his tests (teaches to the test). Very animated, brings the material to life. Overall, Great experience, will be taking for SOC&230.

I can say with confidence that Dr. Atkins is one of the best teachers I have ever come across at North. He is extremely passionate about his teaching and it shows. His teaching material is always clear, thought provoking, and helpful. Dr. Atkins is a kind teacher and sensitive to his students' needs.

Dr. Bob is a great teascher. He is very organized in his teachings and teaches "to the test"! As long as you do the study guides then you should do well on the exams and in the class. I missed alot of class and he worked with me as much as he could but he sticks to his sylaubus but is willing to help during the quarter as much as he can.

Don't pay attention to the negative comments. I have taken a year's worth of classes at NSCC and Atkins is one of the best teachers I have ever come across. He is an easy grader, and his assignments are clear and simple. Awesome class, cool teacher. Take his class and you won't regret it.

the tests are not very easy though, but i really love coming to class the lecture is always interesting. the online stuffs (powerpoints, etc) are very organized. psych101 is the highlite of my quarter!

Anyone who thinks SOC 101 was unclear and difficult didnt listen. In Dr. Bob's lectures he goes through numerous examples and explains everything throughly. People who think he is confusing should listen next time.

Good teacher, and uses examples you can relate to.

Be prepared to see a lot of things you might never have seen before. Dr. Bob does not hold back when it comes to sexuality and that may not be for everyone. But if you want to learn and are comfortable with the human body and sexual topics, this class is pretty great. He answers all questions honestly and openly and is a pretty great teacher.

Dr Atkins is such a great teacher, he has been so helpful with trying to make sure everything is understood and everyone does good in his class. He really cares! He works hard for his students to make us successful! He is a very smart man!

It is a great instructor and willing to meet distance learning student, but don't expect he is good at technology even he is teaching online classes.

Dr. Atkins is a bit goofy and doesn't care about political correctness, which is refreshing and makes him memorable. He's a great communicator, extremely well organized, very flexible, and very knowledgeable. Add your lecture notes to his PowerPoint slides, study the chapter summaries, and know his flowcharts and you will get a 4.0.

He is one of the best teacher I ever have! He always give clear explanation along with many examples making the subject very clear and easy to understand. If you like to hear stories, be sure to take his class, but if you don't, you will sleep on his lectures. Overall, he is a great teacher!

His expectations are clear and simple and he teaches closely to his tests. He obviously knows a ton about his subject. No cumulative final makes the class low-stress. The major downside is his lectures and explanations can be VERY rambling and he often repeats himself. You might have to look a few things up on the internet to understand them.

Do not forget to do the weekly mysoclab quizzes. Finish all of them beforehand just for your own benefit, then you're all set for the class. This is an easy A class, and the subject is actually really interesting. If you listen to his video lectures, you might want to put it on full speed.. other then that great teacher.

Atkins is one of a kind. I took him for both PSYC 100 & 200. He's extremely passionate and is 100% dedicated to helping everyone succeed. He LITERALLY hands you an A. Show up to class, participate with discussion, fill out the chapter worksheets, study them, and you'll ace the tests! Note: Don't wait last minute to complete the online activities!

I took this course online and it was one of the easiest courses I've taken. Atkins hands you an A if you prepare and listen to his lectures. I found all the materials helpful in preparing for exams. He does not give out extra credit, so it is important to do well.

His online classes are some of the most thoughtfully designed content I have ever come across. He focuses on making you learn and remember the material well. be diligent, follow his schedule and study the way he recommends and you'll almost certainly get an A. Its hard to get a 4 though, you have to be almost perfect.

Publisher's online content sucks but materials professor Atkins made were very helpful. The powerpoint he made helped a lot when I did the exams. You have to really go thru the lecture videos to understand his powerpoint. I only spent the final two weeks to do all the lectures and assignments and exams and got 3.9, so I suppose is not difficult.

Overall a great teacher! I took is psy100 and got a 4.0 and took his psy200 and got a 3.9. If you watch his lectures and take notes you will do great! There is no final. 4 exams worth 50 points and you can easily get 50/50 on each exam. And then you then you have launchpad which is fairly easy when you commit to it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

If you watch his lecture videos and complete the case studies you should be able to do well on the exam. Although there's only a small margin of error allowed for a 4.0, it's quite easy to get a high score.

Having Dr. Atkins as a professor was a pleasure. He was so organized and well-thought-out. Initially, I found it overwhelming as a running start student, but once I became familiar with his teaching methods, it was much easier. The class and the instructor are certainly worth checking out but beware of how full it can get. Register in advance

Dr. Atkins is a highly experienced and a very knowledgeable Professor. He made PSYC100 enjoyable through the guided notes, diagrams and case studies. Whenever he shared his personal experiences, I listened carefully because his experiences are very helpful to remember the concepts of the topics. I will also be taking his PSYC200 in spring quarter.

Super clear grading. Do well on the quizzes and you will get a 4.0, simple as that. His guided notes basically go over everything on each exam. If you fill out the guided notes and pay attention in lecture ,you will ace every test!
