Nice guy and very helpful. Takes statistics (probably the most boring class ever) and somehow makes it tolerable. Beware of the corny jokes, though. But he's very accessable if you have a problem, and very willing to help!
Very eager to help, but VERY hard to understand and follow during lecture
Nicest and sweetest man alive...class isnt hard, and hes always willing to help anyone!
Wow! What a wonderful person. This guy really cares about his students. While statistics is not the most amazing class, I truly feel that he brings it to life. I think he is great!!
He is an extreamly nice and caring guy. The class was pretty tough for me and i did struggle quite a bit, but he was always willing to help me out.
he is the sweetest man!!! he is really into his students learning the information and he let us use a note card front and back on each test. if u need help with anything at all he is very quick to find time to help you. i def recomend taking his class!!!
Excellent teacher... applies all concepts to everyday events. Very willing to give all the help you need.. very nice person
He teaches stats in a way you can apply it to outside classroom things and real life situations. He's ALWAYS around to help. One time he met up with me at 7:30 in the morning, and offered another student to meet earlier than that. He learns each students name, and remembers you, unlike most do. Definately take him for Stats.
Mr. Barber is a great professor. He always made it a point to be available for students outside of class. I really didn't want to take statistics but he made the course much more bearable. Take him for stats, he is amazing!
ok let me put it this way....i have never gotten an A in any math class in all my years of going to class. after being in his class for about 4 days now-i just got my first A. he is the best thing that could ever happen to math in general. always willing to help-such a nice man. take him....take him!
Very knowledgeable and very approachable. He is definitely the teacher to take if algebra is not a strong point. Tries to make it understandable and apply it to everyday situations.
He is honestly the nicest person i've ever met. hes brilliant and always there to help. if you get to know him, he will hook you up. I took him for stats and algebra and never did any homework or did that well on the tests. he allows notecards on all his finals. take him...

Very helpful. He knows what he teaches, doesnt spoon feed it, but it this is college not middle school!! Highly recommended.
Very nice guy! Calc is hard to understand anyway but his is very willing to help. I got an "A" in his class but worked very hard. First take home test is very hard to weed ppl out who don't understand the basics.
He is a really nice old man. He does have a little bit of a lisp which can be distracting and he also goes on problem tangents randomly but overall, if you go to class you will pass the tests. He is also definately willing to help you out of class.
awesome prof, knows his stuff, loves his job. Great at explaining difficult concepts (not that there are many in a 140 class). If math is not your subject, def take him for stats too. ask him about his business and naval academy jobs.
talks a lot about useless stuff, can do one problem during for the whole section. but he is good. does a lot of explanations and solutions. don't this this class is easy but he helps you a lot. will see what grade i get!
Dr. Barber by far knows his stuff but you must attend class if you really want to know whats going to be on the weekly quiz or test. The textbook was bassically a lifeguard for me but he's sacrifice whatever time is needed to help his students...
You must attend his class to get anything above a C. He loves word problems, and he wants to show you how you will use math in your life. He knows his stuff, but he can ramble off. If you don't know how to do one problem on his test, you might as well not try. Go to class. However, he is a nice man and would do anything for a student.
Mr. Barber is one of the greatest teachers I have had at Salisbury. He really cares about his students and wants them to do well. He is ALWAYS willing to help. If you go to class and pay attention you shoud do fine. I am horrible in math and was able to get an A in the class. I would take him!!!
easy grader. very very nice, always willing to help his students. i would defineately recommend him to everyone. easy A
He's very helpful and nice, he's always very clear and his grading is fair. Simply the best.
You must attend class in order to pass unless you already know the material. He will help you if you help yourself
This guy is a great teacher.however, you do need to study each day on your own and teach yourself a lot of it to understand. Gives weekly quizzes and some of them would be, he teaches you a brand new thing then "pop" ten mins before class ended you had a quiz! that part i didnt like, he will take the time to help you! I advise you to see him..it wi
very great teacher! im really bad at math but he explains things very well and gives good examples. go to class everyday and review the notes at home and you will do good! He gives good notes in class. he is also very willing to help you if your having trouble.
Mr. Barber is one of the smartest teacher's I have been in contact with. Not just smart in the classroom but outside the classroom. He is very knowledgable about the business world and willing to share his experiences. He takes classroom applications & apply them to the real world, but no easy A you have to work for it
very helpful and interested about the subject. I recommend seeing him in his office that really helped. gives a test or quiz every friday unless he says that he isnt. definately need to study. fair grader.
The best professor I have had at SU he was entertaining and a really fair teacher gives extra credit, no homework, doesnt use the textbook. really smart guy who is willing to help anyone if you need any math i would recommend him, practice tests are basically the real test. one of the best!
I loved his class! He is the best teacher I have had at SU! I HATE math, especially calc, and I was retaking it too and he was an excellent teacher! He is very clear and easy to follow, he made me want to come to class, I miss him more than any other teacher I have had, he is so goofy and funny that I laughed every class. HIGHLY reccomended!
I recommend Bob Barber, he is a little crazy and the material is pretty hard, but he gives a lot of extra credit if you participate and is pretty funny sometimes. Do the homework and you will probably do very good in this class. He also loves when you come to his office for help. I would definitely take Bob Barber again, I learned a lot.
I would definitely take this teacher again. He is very nice and helpful. His tests are based on what whatever worksheets or packets he goes over in class. He gives extra credit when earned. He tends to yell while teaching because he gets so hyped up on what we're learning. I just laugh because it's funny
dr. barber is very enthusiastic about his teaching. he loves to inform and wants his students to be interested. it is important to show up to class, i had him at 8am this semester and have gone all but two times, it wasn't that bad. his exams are easy and gives labs and about 2 quizzes. take him if you have the opportunity to
this teacher is terrible. i dont consider myself bad at math but all he did was yell about nothing. i only lasted 9 class periods before it was impossible for me to even get a D. avoid at all costs
I have no idea what you guys are talking about this man is the most amazing teacher ive ever had he will help you with anything he will come to study sessions before exams even on the weekends. This guy made my freshmen year and i still talk to him for advice.
awesome teacher! loved his class and will definitely take him again. he is really helpful and it always open to meeting with students who need help. overall great teacher.
Dr. Barber is the man. My favorite teacher I have had at Salisbury. Always willing to help, he teaches you only the material you need for life. If you are not that great at Calc, and need to pass to get through, take him.
Professor Barber is amazing! He is really interested in helping his students and tries to make statistics interesting to everyone, not just business majors. His lectures were a little boring but he is always willing to help and is an easy grader. My class also got to do research for the MD state delegate which is great to put on your resume!
Very helpful. I took both Statistics and Calculus with this professor and I never once had a problem. He provides material in class that is directly used on the tests and quizzes and he is always availible if you need help. He grades for knowledge instead of the right answer on tests and quizzes which allows you to succeed in the course.
He is a very helpful teacher. I thought the class would be hard after hearing things from other kids about stat classes, but he is the guy to take! You have to pay attention and go to class, but he is a fairly easy grader at the beginning and expects more of you at the end.
He's the best anyone could ever ask for. Helps whenever you want just shoot him an email and you'll be good to go.
He is the best teacher i have ever had. If you are willing to put in the effort and try a little then he will help you as much s possible and meet with you whenever he can. He is the sweetest guy who is so passionate about math and teaching. Great if you are a business student because he relates math to the business world.
I will just say if you want an easy A don't take this class. If you want a class where you will learn something and the Prof. will be glad to help you take this class. He met with me at 7 am three days a week because it was the only time i could meet him outside of class. I took a Stats class at 8 am just so he was my professor.
I have never done well in a math class before, ever. I am going to end up passing this with an A because Bob Barber is an amazing teacher. He goes out of his way not only to make sure his students do well, but also to get to know his students. Definitely, definitely take him.
Bob barber is the sweetest teacher ever. He will go out of his way to help you no matter what. I've always been terrible at math and I got an a. He always gives practice tests that are just like the real test. Definitely recommend him.
Barber is a good guy but he doesn't make sense all the time. Jumps around and got mad at our class because we didn't do the optional homework. Tests are just like the practice ones. Easy B
Very easy. Tests are EXACTLY like the practice tests he gives a few days before. He changes the numbers a little. His door is always open if you need him. He makes the material understandable. He explains why things are the way they are using real life examples instead of the textbook. Recommended for people with problems in math.
Mr. Barber is a nice guy but I had a lot of trouble following his lectures. The practice exams he gives are virtually the same as the real ones, which helps a lot, but often I was lost in the process of his examples. I got a B in the class, but as the coursework got more complicated I couldn't keep up. I would recommend him if you are math oriented
Dr. Barber is awesome. He is funny, sweet and knows what he is talking about. He always relates the material to real life which makes it fun and easy to learn. I have never done well in math but am passing the class with an A which says a lot. Love this guy!
Bob is seriously the greatest man alive. He is so sweet and he is always willing to help. I have never done well in a math class until this one. His tests and quizzes are so easy as long as you review just a little bit. I wish I could take him again
Nicest professor ever! He is so sweet & really cares about his students! He is always willing to help you, as long as you come to him! I am HORRIBLE at math but he always took extra time to explain things to me which made it a lot easier. If you can take math with him, do it!!! He is definitely the best math teacher at SU! I love him!!!
WONDERFUL! I struggle with math and am glad I took him. One of the few professors who cares about his students. He wants you to succeed not only in his class but in life. He is willing to help you if you are putting in the effort. He will meet with you any time he can! Definitely recommend.
GREATEST TEACHER EVER. If you show him that you are making an effort and go to see him during his office hours he will really help you out as much as he can. I've never been good at math and I got an a. He's the nicest teacher ever and he really cares about his students. He will teach you about life too. Deff take him he's the best.
Very sweet, funny old man. Easy teacher, just go to class and pay attention. I didn't use the textbook at all either. & all of his tests were take home. and he always gave us a practice one that was nearly just like it. I'd recomend him to anyone!
Mr. Barber is the sweetest and nicest man. He is like a cute grandpa. He will do anything to help you. If you go to class and pay attention it is an EASY A. He can be a little hard to follow but he gives practice problems that are the same as the tests. Definitely take his class, he is awesome.
I love Mr. Barber! He is so nice and loves telling stories. He makes class easy but can be a little confusing at times. Just meet him in the library or at his office hours and he will help you. Only gives quizzes and they're easy.He gives practice problems before quizzes anyway. I wish I was taking him for statistics
He manages to make a very, very, dry topic somewhat entertaining, and I think it's incredible that he can. He's a great teacher and loves to hear questions. He is very interested in his subject and genuinely wants you to apply math to real life situations. I'd strongly recommend taking him.
Extremely, extremely easy grader. If he "sees knowledge" anywhere on your quizzes, he'll give you an A. Gives lots of extra credit, so answer and volunteer when you can. There are many quizzes, but they're extremely easy and he gives a practice quiz thats basically the exact quiz. Also if you ask to use notes he'll be like "sure!" TAKE HIM!
Easily the best math teacher I've EVER had!
The best math teacher I have ever had in my life. He is always willing to help you and holds a lot of office hours. He is the nicest person and very respectable. If he was teaching the other math classes I needed I would definitely without a doubt take it with him.
great guy always willing to help out and has a great office hour deal for students and doesnt make you do the homework
Dr. Barber is amazing! I am usually not that great in math but he is always available for help! Just stay after class or come to one of his office hours and he's always ready to help!I was a little confused the first week as sometimes he can run on on other things but he's a very sweet guy. I highly recommend.
I had Mr.Barber for liberal math and I have to say take his class! He is an amazing teacher and an all around nice guy, gives lots of extra credit, lets you use notes for quizzes, and is always available for help. I HIGHLY recommend taking his class
He is an AWESOME teacher. Very helpful, funny, respectful, and easy..Come to class! NO test! 1 quiz per week. 3 or 4 hw assignments. He lets you use your notes most of the time. Every point counts so dont slack and you will do fine. Final was a 4 pg paper double spaced . It was EASY you could even turn it in early before finals week. NO TEXTBOOK!
Barber is the nicest math professor around. His lecture style is a bit confusing, but he is always available for extra help and really loves his students. Highly recommend.
He is very nice and loves to help but honestly I don't understand the way he teaches. I have a million worksheets in my binder from the class. overwhelming in my opinion. for 105 (which is geared toward liberal arts majors, I believe he could focus for on personal finance and marketing rather than statistics and game theory.
Mr. Barber is seriously the nicest math teacher you'll ever meet! He is such a sweet old guy that just wants you to do well in his class and just appreciates it when students show up and try. No exams or textbook! Definitely take him if you can!!! :)
One of the nicest teachers I have ever had. He tries to teach you math that will apply to real life situations. A lot of the tests are open note or even open partner, he also has retakes for some tests. He really cares about his students and wants them to pass. No attendance policy. If you want an easy math class with a nice teacher take his class!
He is honestly the best math teacher I've had to date and I'm horrible at math. He is more than willing to work with you and is a very knowledgeable man. He relates everything to real life and uses plenty of examples. If you go to class and take notes you will pass the class easily.
Bob is the man! He is a super sweet guy and a great teacher. He did not require a textbook for my class. All the material he gave to us on handouts and goes over in class. No exams, just weekly quizzes that are open-note usually. Everything he teaches can be used in real life situations. Strongly recommend him. Easy A and you learn a lot!
Awesome teacher! Such a sweetheart and will do anything for you! Best stats teacher
Such a helpful teacher! Takes extra time to help explain things outside of class and will email you back next to immediately. He allows make-up homeworks and quizzes if most people didn't do well. VERY EASY class though. Provides practice exam, which is the exact same thing you get on exam day. If you want an A, put a little time in and you're good
He was the best teacher I ever had. He is very helpful, just go to his office hours if you have any questions. His tests are just like his practice exams. You are very lucky if you have him.
Not a hard class. Pay attention and take notes, and make sure you understand practice quizzes and tests. If you don't, just go see him and he'll explain. He's very helpful and wants to see students succeed.
AMAZING teacher. He will do anything to help you succeed in his class. SI was very helpful as well. Definitely recommend taking him for a class.
Dr. Barber was the best professor I had all semester. He was always able to help when needed and explains the material well. Gives many quizzes through the semester to boost your grade. 3 exam and some homework. Relatively lenient on his grading. Know the method of finding the answers and you will pass. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Mr. Barber is a really great guy and a good teacher. He really knows a lot about math and business. He repeats himself a lot, I'm not sure if it because he is old or if it is for memorization. If you miss class, you will most likely be lost. He welcomes office hours and there is an SI for his stats class. I definitely recommend taking him.
Barber is a legend. Sounds like frosty the snowman. Great guy used to go to him at his office whenever I was confused and he was always happy to help. Probably my favorite teacher I've had at SU.
If you skip class, you won't pass. His lectures are long and can be confusing. But he's a really good professor, and very friendly to you as long as you show up to class. Do your work, and you'll pass easy. And he sometimes gets pretty funny. He's really understanding, and if you show up to his office hours, he'll be really helpful.
I took him for math 155 also because he is a great teacher. He made class fun and he is such a funny and wise professor. I got a B in stat and an A in Calc. I failed both of these classes with other teachers last year. TAKE THIS TEACHER
Prof. Barber is such a great teacher, definitely speak up and ask questions. He's open to meeting after class and before, he's there to help so take him up on the offer. Even after an exam, go and ask him about what you did wrong, he respects that you put in the effort to at least know what you did wrong.
Professor Barber is easily the best math teacher at Salisbury. He genuinely cares about his students and wants them all to pass the class. Ive always stuggled with math but Professor Barber made everything easy to understand. Most of the grades in the class are quizzes but he prepares you for each quiz so you know what to expect. Take his class!!
Professor Barber is easily the best mathematics professor on campus. He may not be as clear as you'd like sometimes during class but he is always willing to help you no matter what. He makes the class relatable to real life which actually makes it interesting. The class is hard but if he sees you trying you'll get the grade that you want!
For a first time taking calc, i was most impressed on how i did! One of the best preofessor ive met so far at Salisbury! Would recommend him 100% He is very inpirational as a teacher and also as a business man.
Barber is the sweetest man, he loves teaching and really cares for his students. He gives so much extra credit and a lot of partial credit on tests. He is always willing to help, and gives practice exams that are almost identical to the real ones. Would definitely take again!! If you need extra help, go to the SI!
Barb's the man. I walked into this class knowing I was not good with math. The grade I received on my first exam confirmed by intuition. I worked with him during his office hours and everything became crystal clear. I highly recommend taking him he's the best math prof. I've had as SU thus far.
READ THIS: I Planned on going into a Bus-field OTHER than economics/finance like many colleagues. Now, I simply cannot because of this INSANE material that I wouldn't even use. Due to new requirements in CALC-160: You WILL FAIL if you have low key math skills, period--No matter the teacher you take. SU should not require this course for ALL MAJORS.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER!! I would highly suggest taking Dr. Barber, he cares a lot about his students and wants everyone to get an A! Probably one of the best professors I have ever had here at SU! Seriously take him, he is simply the best!!
One of the best professors I have ever had! He ties everything he teaches back to real world problems and economics which not many professors do. He always gives outrageous amounts of extra credit and will even give you points just for trying. He's goofy and all around a great professor.
Barber is awesome. Cares about you and your grade! One of my favorite professors at SU.
Amazing professor! Applies math to real life business situations making it easier to understand. I learned a lot from him.
Best professor i've had here at SU! He will definitely do all he can to help you pass his class with a really good grade and he also gives A LOT of extra credit. Ask him about his "Boems" they amazing!
I was terrified to take calc because I am not strong at math, yet Barber gave me everything I needed to excel in this course! Of course it is math and you need to study to get a good grade but study his practice problems and you will be good. He is super understanding, super sweet, and truly cares about teaching. So fortunate to have had Barber!
Bob Barber is the best! If he is available for any math class you need, take him! He brings the real world into the classroom which made it easier to understand the material. He will do anything you need to help you, he is truly on your side. And he is hilarious!
Dr. Barber does whatever it takes to make sure you understand the material. He is easy to get along with and really cares about you as a student (one of the few). He worked with me for 2 hours every morning before class over the summer to make sure I earned the best grade I could.
The best Math teacher I have ever had, the man is a genius. He knows what he is talking about and knows how to teach material to students and is always willing to offer help during office hours. always go to SI session as they are very help full. And his extra credit will help you.
Professor Barber is extremely knowledgeable about calculus and the business world. He cares a lot about his students and wants them to succeed in his class. He will meet up whenever he can to help you outside of class. Very respected guy!
Overall, the material that he teaches in class is beyond what is required. He will not help putside of class. Overall, bad prof.
Hands down BEST professor at SU!! Professor Barber has the biggest heart at Salisbury. He is very willing to help any students he can. He met us on a Sunday before the test Monday to help study. Definitely helps each student pass. I took his summer course so there were 5 tests as the grades.
Best math teacher, hands down. He goes above and beyond, including meeting with you during the weekend for extra help studying. If you put in the effort, he will be there for you 110%. His boems are amazing! I would highly recommend this professor.
Good teacher. Always show up to class. Wait til the end, he will help you! Always tells good stories.
Bob Barber is a truly inspiring man! You can tell that he rally loves his job and wants to see all his students achieve. He related the content to the real world well and always was willing to help in his office hours!
He's a great professor who really knows what he's doing, but if you like organization and knowing what you're about to learn before class he is not the professor for you. The quizzes and exams are just like the practice ones he creates and even lets you use a notecard sometimes. He's very caring and always is ready to help! Also he doesn't check hw
Only grades in this class are 4 exams and extra credit. Lectures the whole time but makes things easy to remember. He really cares about his students and is willing to meet with students for extra help. Go to SI for more practice. He assigns homework but its not graded but it does give you a lot of practice. Exams are exactly what you do in class.
Dr. Barber is an amazing professor. He truly cares about his students and wants them to do well. Math has never been my strong subject but he helped me understand math in a way no other teacher has. If you try and put effort into your work he will help you until you understand. Definitely recommend him as a professor!!
Prof. Barber is probably the most eccentric teacher at Salisbury; hes always full of energy and insight. The class itself was tough but fair. Youll make it easy on yourself if you put in the work. Also hes always willing to lend a hand if youre stuck. I dont regret taking his class at all. Great professor.
This class is so boring , theres no hands on work just a lecture where he reads directly from the powerpoint. If you take this class , make sure you go to SI. Youre only graded on quizes and exams.
Even though this class is not mandatory, if you show up and take notes he gives you the answers to the quizzes and tests, so you don't even have to understand the material. Also, really nice guy and tells you a lot of personal stories.
Bob Barber is one of my most favorite professors I have had. He cares so much about every student. As a person he is the most kindest and best role-model Salisbury has to offer. Go to SI and go to class and you will learn more about business, than any other class.
He truly cares about his students, this past semester he went out the last few weeks to have emergency surgery (this was very unexpected), and even with this, he still graded all of our work and graded it fast and, responded fast to emails. He offered a decent amount of extra credit, make sure you do good on the exams to pass!
Dr. Barber or Bob as he likes to be called is one of the best teachers you will ever have. His door is always open if you need help. Now I took him during the winter(3 weeks) which is different. Still highly recommend him. His class will help you learn how to use this in real life.
Dr Barber was one of my favorite teachers over the past semester. He was always helpful and hilarious in a 5 o'clock lecture where in most classes you would want to leave. Although he left early with a serious illness, he made sure to always grade on time. Also if you need extra help, ATTEND SI! i cant stress enough how much it helped me.
Dr. Barber is the sweetest man ever. On the first day of classes he gives you an overview of his life and he truly is a role model. Very well educated, successful, and respectful man. Sometimes he talks quietly which can be hard to pay attention to. I look up to Dr. Barber and hope to be as successful as him one day.
Wow. DO NOT TAKE BARBER!!! This class is the only B I've ever gotten in a class. Barber's lectures literally make no sense, and he gives no examples in class (its a MATH class!! You NEED examples to understand!) Also, he completely deviated from the syllabus. Lectures were so boring and confusing, even when I went to every SI session! Stay away.
Barber is so sweet and he makes class enjoyable. He makes sure you know what you're doing and he wants to help you succeed. Took him as an online applied calc class (not yet finished but I have an A after midterms). For online classes, homework is "not optional" but not required to turn in, just exams and quizzes which are 12 & 5 questions long.
Barber is honestly such an amazing teacher. He takes such a difficult subject like calculus and tries his best to make sure you understand it. If you want to do well in his class, you HAVE to take advantage of the SI sessions. The SI sessions single handily got me an A on all of his exams. Definitely not an easy class, but doable.
Super good professor, assigns some homework but never checks it for a grade. He is very sweet and always tries to help his students as much as he can. Most quizzes are take homes and open notes.
Professor Barber is an amazing professor at SU. He is very passionate about calculus, and if you take interest and put effort into his class, you should be fine. In addition, go to the SI sessions and don't blow off the exams! Prof. Barber gave numerous extra credit opportunities to help students pass his class.
Professor Barber does everything he can to ensure his students understand the material and are confident in their ability to do the work correctly. He holds study hall sessions every Friday afternoon. However, his class has no SI, and his lectures are very difficult to follow. I felt like I was just copying whatever he was writing on the board.
Actually one of the most interesting people you'll meet, and even though he tells the same story 4 times, it gets better every time. Really just a kind soul who cares deeply about his students, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet him.
No laptops, phones, or any technology in his class. I tried taking a picture of a single slide in his lecture as I was falling behind and was called out. Lots of notes, not very difficult but he has not developed his class as technology has developed
Professor Barber has been one of my favorite professors at SU. He is engaging, caring, and good at explaining things. He makes sure his students are engaged and understand the material before he moves on. He also offers a ton of help sessions and extra credit. He wants his students to achieve. He is such a good person and professor.
The professor's has three exams, various quizzes throughout the semester, and an end of the semester project which is very unclear (little-to-no directions/rubric). He passes out test practices but they are often just answers to in class problems and very difficult to follow along with at home. No textbook and no attendance mandatory.
Professor Barber was my favorite my freshman year of college. He loves cracking jokes throughout the classes and gives plenty of extra credit. Homework is only given if he feels it is necessary, and sometimes he will go over it before you turn it in. There are not many grades that go into the gradebook, so come prepared on quiz and test days.
Very funny professor, and can lighten up the class. Truely cares about his students and their success (if you show up to class). Knows what he's talking about and often goes above and beyond the course parameters. Often will tell you which homework questions will be graded. Great professor, would recommend, just make sure you show up to class
Really good professor. He makes a lot of jokes and is pretty funny. You will have a quiz about once a week, and every class is important. Tons of extra credit to makeup any bad hw. He drops 2 grades at the end of the semester. Definitely recommend over the other applied calc professors. His handwriting is awful, so take good notes.
Professor Barber is a CHARACTER. I mean it literally--he looks nearly identical to Carl from the movie Up, except he smiles when he talks about math and his wife is very much present. I enjoyed his class because he is passionate about the subject, but I wouldn't have been as successful without our supplemental instructor. Take the help you can get!
If you do not have a SI you are screwed. He rambles in class and is very hard to follow what he goes over. He expects you to know some of it. The quizzes are easy, about a quiz a week. Have to study constantly for this class to pass.
Professor Barber is a hilarious and caring instructor who goes above and beyond. While the class can be challenging, his jokes and extra credit make it manageable. unstuck ai was a lifesaver for study prep.
I have a lot of respect for this professor. He's passionate for students to do well in this course. At times he does ramble and the stuff he teaches can be extremely confusing, he does drop 2 quiz grades and drops you midterm if you did extremely well on the final. He also lets you do a team exam where the students can help each other and use notes
THE GOAT. calc is a hard class, and I will say you definitley need to study outside of class. he gave homework, but it wasnt mandatory, nor was it graded. he cancelled class a few days before an exam, and then to make up for it he let us have a take home exam. we also had exam 3 right before the final and he left the room and let us collaborate!!!
Professor Barber is one of the nicest and most caring people you will meet. His class can be difficult, so SI sessions and studying are highly recommended. He has quizzes weekly that are very easy to pass if you study. The course is test heavy, but he lets you know what will be on it, so as long as you are prepared to study, you will do well.
I LOVE Bob Barber. He is a sweet old man and amazing in office hours. He would raise you quiz & exam grades if you reviewed it with him. Lectures were boring and hard to understand, but like I said OH were great. Gave group exams for you to work together, and take home exams and quizzes. If you ask him about turtles he will love you
