I got a lotta love for this guy. If you want an easy A for ENG 103, take someone else. If you want to learn something, take Professor Behnam, and you might still get an A.

Before I entered his class i thought i knew how to write. I was wrong, he helped me improve my skills. Seems cocky at first, but then warms up to students. Want to learn how to write, take him.

Some busywork, but you learn how to write a college paper. Good if you can't write. Easy A if you can.

Benham's is a great comp class for people with scientific minds. He breaks down the process so you can really crank out good papers without too much trouble. Always happy to help when you ask. Probably bends on due dates too often :-)

Robert Benham is a professor from the real world with real knowledge that you can apply. He has a no-nonsense approach that really worked well for me. A fair and intelligent professor.

He is the best teacher I've ever had! His class wasn't easy, but it helped make me a better writer. He was funny, nice, helpful, taught useful things. It was great. I highly recommend him!

This gentleman openend my mind up to some great literature. Talk to him if you are unclear, throw your interpretations at him and he will respect you.

If you're intelligent and well-read, you'll get a lot more out of Prof. Benham's classes. The man is well-versed and smart. He doesn't have a lot of time for stupid people, though, so if you're looking through the "easiness" section...probably best to turn back now. A superb mind.

He's very helpful and up front on with his expectations and will gladly clarify if you need it. He does go on little tangents on regularly, but you can always laugh at it later. He's good!

Knows what he is teaching. But make sure you come to class. He may talk tough at the beginning but don't panick he's not. Goes over the edge when he talks about things other than class. He talks plenty about himself and Sundstrand.

Mr. Benham is an extremely inteligent man. He sees into the depths of things that most people would over look. Very caring and understanding. He's also very willing to take time out of his busy schedule for you because he really cares about his students. Excellent professor and a very sweet person.

This guy knows his stuff. He is great at explaining the concepts and his anecdotes are funny and insightful. I will always recomend him to others.

Great teacher, I learned a lot from him. will improve your writing skills, offers a ton of extra help and is willing to set up times for his students. is fair in grading, do not take him online but is great in class

umm... he knows i am writing this and that is funny. i think he is a good teacher confusing at times and repeats EVERYTHING like 6 million times. lol o-well getting a good grade! YAY!!! GREAT teacher tho.

He's a really nice guy, but he talkes about his life alot. Beyond that, he has really good methods on how to write essays, character papers, *essay question answers!!!*, and research papers. The class goes along fairly slow, and everything is explained very thoroughly, so that you *get it*. Definitely recommend (but have patience with him!).

Mr. Benham is undoubtedly one of the most generous and caring individuals I've ever met. I will admit that it does take a little effort to understand his methodology; but once you fully grasp that his entire purpose is to get you to think for yourself, you'll walk away with enough genuine pearls of wisdom to last you a lifetime. Highly recommended.

Mr. Benham is the best teacher I have had at RVC! He will help you,but wont do it for you. If you dont understand he will explain it so you will understand.

Mr. Benham is very nice and funny (talks about Sundstrand a lot...). He tries to make the class bearable but he's also challenging. He is not too rough when it comes to grading papers, I think he understands most people are just not very good at writing but he really works so that you walk out of the class with skills you didn't have before.

His class was kind of interesting, but mainly it was just a bore fest. Old American literature is so dry. Oh, and "apparently" he was once part of the band America. He sounds a lot like Mel Brooks when he speaks, so I'm sure he wasn't going to be singing in the band... Oh, and take his class.

Mr. Benham's class is not for you if you plan to skip by, this class means business. His techniques are amazing, but its tough work. I think this class was rushed, because we did not stay on schedule. Although his class is hard, it is worth the time and you WILL be a better writer in the end.

Mr. Benham is one of the finest individuals' that I have ever known. He is extremely knowledgeable and is equally as passionate about whatever he is teaching. He will go above and beyond for his students; helping them how ever he can. I have recommended him to many students and friends of mine and I will continue to do so because he truly cares. A+

Great Professor!! He teaches you important, helpful skills in your writing that other teachers will not. His class is not difficult and remains interesting throughout the semester. I would highly recommend Benham to anyone.

I was apprehensive about taking an Eng class at first because I hate writing papers, Benham made me realize that as long as I am clear in what I write and sit down and do it writing isn't really that bad. Great guy, tells you sweet life lessons, I enjoyed his class.

He teaches what you need to know for the real world, not just for the test.

I still remember many of his lessons even though it has been a very long time since I took his class. He is a good person and a great professor.

Mr. Benham is great. He takes the time to teach about how to compose papers instead of just assigning long papers.

I took him for 101 and 103 and he was amazing. One of my all time favorite teachers he takes the time to help no matter what your question he will find a way to answer where you can understand it. He takes time to teach in a fun manner and I highly recommend him.

This class is easy for the most part. The papers are pretty simple. The class is usually pretty boring and he takes points off everyday you miss. He constantly is going off topic and talking about other things outside of English but in a way trying to make it relate. He grades pretty well. Take Benham!!

The BEST English teacher out there. Will fight for his students, even if it is the Dean. He teaches each student how to do research in a lib. and what professors are looking for in papers. What you put into the class is what you get out of it!!

Benham is probably the best english teacher you will find at RVC. He talks off-topic a lot, but he is a superb teacher, so it is worth it.

Great guy, I learned more from him in the four months of his class than in high school...he is very clear on what he wants and majority of his papers are only a few paragraphs long..

One word discribes him: DIFFERENT! He gives you tips that NO other teacher will ever give you!If you can stand a little different TAKE HIM your writing skills will go thru the roof.TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!!

He is a great teacher.Talks about his mother in law a lot which was funny.You will learn a lot even if you don't want, and will prepare you for 103.Got a B because i didn't try hard, but getting an A in 103 thanks to him..

TAKE THIS TEACHER. He will teach you things that no other English teacher would ever even consider teaching you. This guy knows his stuff and I guarantee you WILL become a better writer. You just have to get past the stories he tells you over and over again and the lame jokes

He was an excellent teacher. He taught me things that no other English Prof. has taught before. Also, I'm the type of guy that needs to talk to someone to get the ideas rolling for an English pape and he was there for me all the way. The man defends and treats his students like if they were his own children. I would highly recommend him.

Mr. Benham taught me more about english grammar and literature then I have ever comprehended prior to college. Everything my previous junior high and high school teachers attempted to teach me; he taught me in one semester. Wonderful insight on literature and life in general. I will say that I am no English major or anything close.

Benham is good. Compared to the other trivial, somehow still working, discriminatory professors at RVC, Benham will take the time to teach your how to write and critically analyze literature. You will write and think on new levels. Dr. KCL made us adhere to some Greek system that restricted critical thinking. Benham brought our critical skills.

Mr. Benham is a great teacher, regardless if he re-tells stories. He printed out helpful information that I now use in other classes. Those that didn't like his class were very young and it wouldn't have mattered what teacher they had.

I had Mr. Benham for Eng. 101. He is a good teacher. I use the information that he gave us in class, which helps me out tremendously. I would recommend his teaching. Even if he does repeat stories, he is one teacher that I will not forget.

He's an amazing professor, just do your papers, which you only have 3 of, show up to class, and listen to him talk about whatever he feels like. He really helps you under stand how to write at a college level. If you are going to take ENG 101 at RVC you better get him, you will regret it if you don't...........

Overall a good English professor. He does tend to ramble off topic and tell stories, but they help to keep class interesting. Assignments are easy, most of which are graded for completion. Papers are short and are few and far between (My class wrote three of them 2-3 pages each) Would recommend him to anyone who needs to take English 101.

Mr. Benham was honestly the best english teacher I've ever had. He really tries to get students to write at a college level. My writing has improved tremendously because of him. Those who complain about his stories don't have a sense of humor...he's a teacher I will never forget..highly recommend his course!

He does like to talk, compares movies to everything. He does everything step by step and you have no idea what's going on until it is finished. He is a good teacher, and yes he talks too much. His handouts are great and worth saving.

Mr. Benham was the best English teacher I've had at Rock Valley yet. You must be organized to keep up in his courses or you'll quickly fall behind because he does like to get off topic on occasion. He gives great feedback on papers and is always eager to help you improve your mistakes.

I very much enjoyed being in this class. Some may say he rambles. I say everything he says has a purpose. Pay attention to what he is saying and he will bring you full circle. He is a professor who truly cares for his students and offers a wealth of information for those who seek it. I highly recommend his class.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!! I wish he had some 103 classes so I could have him again. He truly cares for his students, and is willing to help them out in whatever way he can.

I had this professor about two years ago. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM! If you have trouble writing at the college level, please take this man as your professor!!! He knows his stuff! He will make you a better writer, period. I really enjoyed his class
