He is a very easy teacher and a cool person. Extra credit is given out for every test. His notes are straight and to the point but he does like to joke around sometimes. You will have classes where you just sit there and talk about topics but overall he is a good teacher and i would recommend anyone to take his class.

Really good teacher. You will laugh somuch during his lectures. All tests had extra credit with them. I never got below a 90 on a test in his class. Best professor at ASU in my opinion.

Without a doubt, Bruce is my favorite professor ever. His class is a riot, I've never been more interested in a lecture than the ones that he teaches. You'll love his class. The buy is necessary for the extra credit but the tests are taken straight from his notes. If you're taking intro to Sociology then Bruce is the only one to take!

Bruce is a fantastic teacher, and he keeps you from falling asleep in class. He encourages discussion without causing fights/arguments. You don't have to buy the book, but you'll need it for the 15+ points of extra credit on EVERY test

Professor Bruce has to be one of the coolest instructors at ASU. He is very understanding and easy to understand. He lectures straight from the book and provides extra credit for each test. He makes sociology applicable to everyday life and personal situations. TAKE HIM!!! I changed my minor because of him this class is awesome!!

Prof Bruce is one of the funniest teachers I have ever had. he loves teaching and gives lots of extra credits for each tests. I took him during the fall and it was an amazing experience. I would retake his class again and again just to have him as a teacher.

He is really nice brings nice material to classes and tries to adapt to the different backgrounds we come from in the class.

He always has us laughing and lectures fly by. Make sure you take notes, especially what he writes on the board because it will be on the test. He shows plenty videos to further the lectures, but pay attention because those are on the tests too. He makes the class feel easy, but you definitely have to study for the several tests.

Bruce is a really good man that cares about his students and their opinions. His class is open for discussion and he listens intently. If you get Robert Bruce, consider it a great semester. P.S. Laugh at his jokes.

Hands down my favorite professor ever! This class was so enjoyable and he always had the entire class laughing! The only grades we had were the 5 tests and a 5 page paper. You must do the extra credit he assigns because he will ask questions about it one the test. I definitely hope to take one of his classes again. BRUCE ROCKS

He does give extra credit opportunities, however, study for his many exams, you may expect it to be an easy A but you do need to study and read class notestext book. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!

Study Power points in D2L, read chapters, turn in reading assignments, post to a few discussions and you'll pass with an A. Test or straight from power points. Writing assignments are interesting and fun to write. 1 big easy essay at the end of semester. Syllabus is right on and organized. Major extra credit!!! Highly recommended!

Great class, but definitely not your average professor. He likes to try to lighten the mood with jokes and sarcasm but its hard to tell if he's joking or not. All the power points are online to study and he gives tons of extra credit which is pretty much mandatory if you want to pass the test. He also usually forgets to check attendance.

Bruce is a great professor who really cares about his classes. He makes the class interesting by added some humor to his lectures which keeps the pace of the class moving well. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE EXTRA CREDIT! You will not do well on the tests if you don't, but Bruce is upfront about that from the start. Would definitely take again.

By far the best professor I've ever had! He is really funny and will help you if you make him notice you. Everyone in my class got along pretty well and after that semester I've had other classes with the same people and we all remember him and how cool his class was! Would take him again!

This is class is very difficult. I tried memorizing concepts and I genuinely failed too. His tests were very hard for me, but the rest of the class seemed to do well. I studied the powerpoint a lot and I tried to do well, but It didn't work out in the end.

Bruce is awesome! I came out of his class with a C, but that's just because I didn't try as hard as I should have. If I fully applied myself, I would've made a high B. He's very quirky, but I know he really cares about his students and his lectures are very straightforward. His tests have questions from the EC assignments so make sure to do them!

The work load challenges you however it is easy with the right amount of studying, reading, and time management! Gives a lot of extra credit as well! Bruce makes a boring class fun. He always manages to keep you laughing and keep the material interesting. He gives you plenty of extra credit opportunities, too. Sometimes he will get off topic which is a major distraction, but he always will email you if he didn't cover the material well. I would take his class again.

Easily my favorite teacher I've ever had. He's absolutely hilarious and made me want to show up to every class, even though he doesn't remember to take attendance very often. I didn't work very hard in the class which is why I got a B, but it wouldn't be too hard to get an A. Posts PPTs on D2l and is very willing to help you and answer questions.

I was in a pretty large lecture class probably more than 50 people. Never took attendance after the first week or two. He has power points so its ok to follow along if you do miss class. He'll sometimes have dumb questions on the test that you can only answer if you were in class that day. Lenient on grading for papers.

His class is very easy. Show up to class, take notes on what he says and you will likely make a 100 in the class. Everything that he says in class is on the test, which are worded very easy. He has a lot of grades in put and drops test and gives ALOT of extra credit on top of that. Also he makes lectures interesting and easy to understand.

If you want to pass though, you really have to be in class because it is lecture based. He also offers lots of extra credit. But youll love Bruce. Hes the bomb.

Professor Bruce was really cool! His teaching style was a bit all over the place though. He would get off topic frequently, but when he was on topic, he really explained the concepts. We had to do in class activities but a lot of times we ran out of time because he talked a LOT. Overall, just show up to class and really listen to what he says!!

He is pretty chill, funny, and laid back. Your tests and quizzes are online and over the weekend. He drops the lowest test grade and reading quiz grade. If you made below an 80, he lets you retake them, but the maximum is 80. Theres a total of 20 miscellaneous assignments. You have to do a final project. I didn't like his teaching style though.

I had him for SOCI 1101 & 1160. Best professor ever. Can be a bit awkward at time but entertaining. Hi classes are interesting and engaging. His lectures are semi-structured but easy to follow. Sometimes gives extra credit points for simply showing up. Highly recommend taking him!

SOCI1160 is a very laid back class, as it is discussion based. The class is an open discussion and laid back. He is a little goofball, and awkward sometimes - most of the time, but hard to pass up. Easy class and easy professor, and will give you great detailed feedback and advice.

I loved having a class with Prof. Robert, I'm actually taking him again in Spring 2021. He makes class assignments entertaining and not boring. You will have to take notes and listen well when he talks because he will give you answers to tests/ quizzes. Very thorough and one of my favorite teachers here at AU. Take him if you can!

The class was completely online, but he sent regular emails and had office hours so we could stay in touch with him and knew what to expect that week. We had 3 tests (and the final) and he gave extra credit quizzes that he would add the points to your lecture test. He allowed for retests with some exceptions. We had many assignments but ample time

Hes a great professor and has easy assignments that will really help you on his tests. Hes super funny but does get off topic in class easily. Just stick to the assignments and study those and listen to his lectures... youll be fine.

Professor Bruce is very anxious so he is very down-to-earth and doesn't overwork anyone in his class. He understands students have a ton on their plate and he doesn't really add to it. Bruce is one of the most down to earth professors that I've had. Not to mention, his lectures are entertaining and informative. Effort you put in is what you'll get out. Soc is discussion-heavy and thought-provoking. If you don't miss class, you'll be able to take good info from both Bruce and other students. Grading is fair, great class to be in!

Back at it for my 2nd class with Bruce! SOC1160 is a great class to take with him. His lectures have good information, his quizzes and assignments are fair and manageable, and the discussions in class are always engaging and thought provoking. Attendance isn't "mandatory" once you acquire enough points, but I CHOOSE to to attend. Highly recommend.

Bruce is quite unorganized, which I don't mind very much. Most of the time, his lectures don't stick to the syllabus. His grades are mostly based on quizzes and discussion questions on D2L. There are only 4 assignments to turn in throughout the semester.

Bruce is the most caring professor. You can tell he genuinely enjoys his job and helping/listening to students. He's got a good sense of humor and makes class go by fast. He offers extra credit opportunities. The 500-word papers (4 total) are easy. His module quizzes are 15 questions (8 total quizzes). He has such a big heart :)

You have to attend a certain number of classes and do a discussion post to follow it. All of the exams are online, as well as the PowerPoints. Super easy and laid back, However he does not haggle you with your grade so get eveything turned in on time.

Bruce is one of the cool professors, throughout his lectures he does get carried away and the convo can quickly turn into a different discussion but he works without. Our class project was to bring food you would have at a family function. Not only was this an easy project but it was fun and different. I would sign up for any class he teaches!

I loved Bruce! He was a super easy teacher. He doesn't ask for much, just come to class and take the quizzes. If you come the day before the quiz he goes over most all of what you need to know to pass it. He appreciates it when you have class discussion and everyone gives insight.

He is extremely awkward, but in a funny way. He emails back quickly, isn't a tough grader, and isn't strict about attendance. Extra credit was easy -- he made showing up to his Friday lectures extra credit, those are the only days I showed up. Test questions are all answered on Quilts online :)

Bruce is great! I have took him for both intro and now for social problems! There are five little project activities that you have to turn in. They are very simple and easy to do, and then there are four module tests. The tests are super simple and most all of the answers are findable on d2l in the stuff he has posted.

Very relaxed professor. Most of your grade are discussions, where you answer the question in more than 200 words online before class and then just attend the class. The rest is online tests and project activities which are not hard. The only problem I had with his class were the students which could be pretentious at times.

This class was an easy. If you have a full schedule and need to take sociology then this is a good class for you. You are graded off of exams, projects, and discussion posts. There are 5 extra credit points as well. The exams are online and the projects take 15-20 minutes to complete. Overall easy class but lectures were painful.

Relaxed professor who loves what he does and has easy assignments. He doesn't have an ego, unlike some professors that you will meet at AU. In all, it's an easy class that you can't fail if you put in any sort of work. If you have to take sociology, take it with him.

This is the third class I've taken with Bruce, and I've loved him all throughout! He has an awkward sense of humor, but he'll make you laugh a lot. The course is very discussion post based, but he has a point system where you can miss a few of them and still get full credit. The tests are easy and he posts all the information you need online :)

Pretty chill class there are a lot of articles that you got to read but the tests aren't like hard asking for simple details so its pretty easy to study for he also tells you what to specifically look out for test. Went on a few of his zooms and he has some humor would've liked to take him in person if i had the time seemed like a pretty cool guy.

Bruce is an amazing professor. He connects with his students and makes sure that you don't have too heavy of a workload! Although he has a soft voice, his lectures are important for the class and real world. There were four tests, two presentations, and a couple quizzes and discussion posts. It's not a lot.

I do not like sociology and I thought his lectures were a bit boring, but he is SO funny. He is so dry and his humor is really awkward. The material was easy as long as you turn it in on time. Discussion posts are tedious and a bit annoying, but I would rather have discussions than other things. 100% recommend this as a filler class.

Easy A! As long as you show up to class and complete all of the requirements of the class, then you should easily get an A. The class is very discussion-based, and the discussions are quite fun to listen to and participate in.
