Bobby Burns is a really easy going, and interesting professor. He's super understanding, and listens really well. He has a sense of humor, is a cool guy, and grades fair.

He is a really easy teacher, but the class is still interesting. If you do your assignments, you'll be fine. Enjoyed the class.

BOBBI BURNS!!! haha, this is the craziest guy i've ever met, much less been taught by. he is really awesome!! he really lets you think for yourself and write creatively. his class is the reason i went to school. he really is awesome!! im minoring in english now because of his class!! Bobby Burns is an engaging professor. However, I felt like I spent the majority of my time learning about obscure bands and how much caffeine it takes to kill a person. After having the option to take him for the next semester, I decided not to. I'm here to learn about English, not what the best caffeine drink is.

Three papers. 3 pg poetry analysis, 3-5 pg theory exercise, and 5-10 pg research paper. That's it. Bobby is a nice, encouraging, chill and a wide open instructor. LOVES TO TALK. There wasn't much discussion. Just a lot of him talking. Half of the girls in the class played games on their ipods and phones. Not that I'm complaining but... Recommended!

Mr. Burns is amazing! Class isn't mandatory, but I'm sure people will go to class anyway because he's so interesting. I think it's impossible for anyone to get less than a B in that class. Prof Burns is by far the best prof to have to take english from! The class discussions always turn into the funniest tangents and he lets you speak your mind without judgment! He knows that college kids have lives outside of school so he's totally flexible about assignments and grading! TAKE THIS CLASS.

The best teach I've EVER had! He keeps you interested, has flexible deadlines and will change due dates in order to work around your schedule. Very low textbook use. He would like for you to have the textbook, but in his own words "If you have to choose between eating or getting the textbook, eat." He's also just an overall good guy. GET THIS PROF!

Dr. Burns rules. Seriously, he's a great guy. Really cares about students. His teaching style is very raw and honest which is refreshing. His class isn't hard if you follow directions. Doesn't make you buy a book. And is very objective in his grading. He lets you have you own opinion! Definitely take him if you can. One of the best I've had.

Professor Burns is very lenient. He only requires 6 reading responses from the readings (3 before midterm and 3 before final). Overall, I honestly was not interested in the class; therefore, I did not learn anything. It is a literature class, so it is a lot of reading.

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! Most discussions tie back to sex, drugs, and punk rock. (: He doesn't mind cell phone usage, tardiness, cursing, naps, etc. You can write about anything, the papers are short, he gives fantastic feedback, and you can rewrite your papers. I can't say enough about Professor Burns. Such a cool dude, unique teaching style that makes it easy and fun to learn. He doesn't just teach the subject you signed up for, you end up learning so much more about random, interesting subjects. Very smart, very nice, you must take his class!

There is a lot of writing involved in this class so be prepared for that. Class attendance isn't mandatory, do your work ahead of time if possible and you'll be fine.

Mr. Burns is one of the few teachers who actually changed my way of thinking and reading. He is helpful and makes even the mundane sound interesting. Honestly regret not being able to take more of his classes. He has that rare aspect most teachers lack which is empathy. He knows what your problems are and where you might need help. Awesome guy.

Dr. Burns portrayed himself as the most evolved human being I've ever encountered then went on to be that and more. I took every word he said and applied it to every aspect of my life I could. This man is my spirit animal.

He's a very chill guy and has a nontraditional way of teaching, which I found more engaging than your standard lectures. Absolute amazing professor. Very laidback in terms of lifestyle yet his work is incredible. My writing got 20x better and he pinpoints the problems along with reasoning. Robert is an awesome professor and I would definitely take him again if I needed another English credit. He is very accessible for any help you may need. I really enjoyed his free-spirit and while he is very clear on what he wants, he wants very vague things. If you crave structure then you may be frustrated in this class.

Flyest Teacher Of All Time

He doesn't have any real deadlines for the assignments and he lets you revise your papers as many times as you want but it might take a few tries to get the grade you want. His feedback is very detailed so all I did was fix exactly what he told me to and if I asked for an explanation he'll just tell me what to write. Give details when you write to!

There were 3 assignments that required you to observe your surroundings and be very detailed. (I made mine up). There were like 3-4 in class short essays you can revise and others were just participation essays. Group work was just for participation. There was an article summary and incorporating quotes and research paper. He doesn't give A+

No deadline for assignments, you can turn them in whenever. Allows revisions on assignments. He takes the newest grade of revision, not the highest. He goes off topic in class a lot. Most of his assignment directions weren't clear. If you procrastinate a lot, please don't take him. He makes you work for your grades. Very tough grader!

When he graded my first assignment, I got freaked out because he wrote all over my paper with different Color Inks. He is a tough grader, but he is not one of those professors who doesn't care about student's grades. Burns is very caring. You can revise any assignment as many times as you wish. Youll write a lot of papers throughout the semester but never more than 4 pages at a time. The topics and usually interesting and easy to write on. He lets you re-do your papers for a higher grade however many time you want. Never gives lower than a B on an assignment. Hes a very chill and understanding professor that Id highly recommend.

Mr. Burns is one of my favorite professors ever. He has a great sense of humor and is super understanding that students have lives outside of class. Dr. Burns was laid back and didn't cover much in class. However, be prepared to do a lot of revisions to get a good grade. My one frustration was that he couldn't give us a clear answer on final grades and was very scatterbrained, but it was a pretty easy class. Just be prepared to do the bulk of the work at the end, he leaves everything last min.

Dr. Burn's class consists writing and re-doing papers. He usually goes off onto tangents during discussions, but he has a unique perspective on things and its interesting to listen to him. TAKE HIM!!! There are only 5 assignments and he gives unlimited rewrites. He is probably the harshest grader I've had (even compared to AP courses in HS) but it really is worth it. Mr. Burns is very funny and curses at all. He talks about his wife, mom, and cats a lot so beware of that; also tells a lot of stories. Hes AMAZING at what he does. The best English professor you could possibly imagine. Period. Your paper can have more of Robert's pen than yours and that paper could have like a B+. The class was very self explanatory. Hed assign us papers to write and we had the entirety of the semester to revise them for an improved grade. During lectures hed go over details to help improve our writing as well. I will say my adhd made it hard to focus as the class involved a lot of listening.

What a GOD. Truly one of the best human beings out there! He deeply cares about his students and wants them to learn how to communicate in this world using proper English. Don't stress in his class because you won't. He is like an English therapist. Highly recommend this Doctor of English. You'll enjoy his class without a doubt.

You attend the class, chill with him, do your papers and submit them, go home and revise them, resubmit them until you got an A, and well, pass the class with a A - as simple as that! Besides that, he is one of the only hardworking and caring professors at GSU.

He's SOOOO chill and gives excellent feedback. He has this grading system where you submit your paper, he grades it (let's say you get a B), and then he hands it back with comments. You can then resubmit as many times as you want and the new grade COMPLETELY replaces the previous grade. If you don't get an A, you only have yourself to blame.

Robert Burns was one of the most relaxed teachers I had my freshman year. He does grade harshly, but he gives you an unlimited amount of rewrites so you can bring your grades up. Definitely a lot of writing assignments, but he give ample amount of time to finish it and turn it in. He's pretty chill, and he really tries to connect with his students.

Only reason he is a tough grader is because he is very specific of what he wants but he literally lets you revise everything and tells you exactly what he wants. He is very easy to contact outside of class and he is funny!

He's super cool, I love the stories he would tell in class. Allows revisions so it's basically impossible to fail. He's also super understanding. Amazing professor, take him.
