A pretty funny guy...kinda tells too many anecdotes though.

Very well educated, sweet, and wise man. Much of the material was not covered because he has so many tangents. Take his class if you don't mind skipping material and if you want to learn something useful in life from a funny, yet profound thinker.

Open, caring, uniquely spiritual individual. He teaches from the book sometimes, but mostly teaches from his inner well of knowledge and intuition. He can relate to the most materialistic and mundane student while still catering to the profound thinker.

I had Bob for a few classes years ago before I transfered. He is one of the funniest teachers I have ever had, but I don't think that I ever learned anything in his classes. Easy class; he eliminated two of the tests because he would just talk about****.

Byde is really smart and funny, he lets you leave early alot and he lets you know EVERYTHING that will be on the tests, so even though they aren't totally easy you know exactly what to study

This guy is great. He's freaking hilarious and keeps you interested in the subject. He's one of the funniest teachers i've had. I'm glad i took this class! And yeah, he lets you leave early. GOOD TEACHER.

Cool and the funniest guy around. I love his stories about Fresno! Makes everything understandable and there was no homework. Just make sure you take notes and study them and you will do fine! Take This Class!!!!!

He tells you EVERYTHING that is one the test. Just study it. Really interesting class. I would definitely take Dr. Byde again and would recommend him to anyone.

He is a hilarious teacher and will keep you entertained. His tagents (there are many) are still usefull to the material. He teaches everything on the test and gives useful study guides.

What can I say about Bobby Byde? He's awesome- his stories are hilarious, and he's a great teacher. And yeah I've been the butt of jokes from time to time but it was in good fun, and I laughed as hard as everyone else. He's a biker dude lookin guy, wears hawaiian shirts and is incredible!!

Talks alot about wierd stuff thats actually very funny, even though most of it is tragic. He looks like santa, except with a larger beer gut he's from Fresno, and he dreams about parapalegic bunnies in the olympics for long jump. He touches very well on key info and adds personal experiences to them

I took this teacher for intro to Psych also and I love him. He is smart, funny, and his lectures are completely engaging. He is a fabulous teacher and his classes aren't too hard either, he gives great study guides and with just a little studying and reading it is very easy to get an A or B!

I took his psy101 class and liked it so much that I decided to take abnormal psychology just because he was teaching it. I think he is a wonderful professor. He makes the class more interesting and much more personal by sharing his stories with his students.

The subject matter was very interesting, and so were his lectures. He goes off an tangents constantly, but they're entertaining and almost always pertain to the subject matter (I often wonder if he makes them up to prove a point). Sometimes, he seemed tired, and the lectures reflected it, but overall, I would recommend him.

Bobby Byde is a fun teacher. He has a wonderful personality and many humerous stories. Although he may ramble far, far, away from the topic, his class is still enjoyable. If you do the reading and take notes on the important topics this class is a doable A. ^.^*

This teacher is great! His classes are so interesting but if you are not prepared to do alot of reading at home dont take. He will not go over basics in class he expects you to know them.

i have him for two classes, his tests aren't too bad if you pay attention and do your reading. he tells really interesting stories which sometimes get completely off subject but somehow find a roundabout way of involving something that he was teaching about that day.

Dr Byde is a great human being, but a bit burned out on teaching. He tells lots of stories (sometimes more than once)some enlightening and or entertaining, others not so much. when he presents info it is quite dry. You can skip half his classes and still get an A

He is a very good instructer, he explains everything in depth, sometimes talks to long about one subject that he tends to like but it is entertaining. He shows up everyday,and his tests are easy if you do the study guide that he give you. He adds real life into his lectures which is cool. Oh and he is a paper handout king! TAKE HIM!!

He's very easy on grading exams I guess. As long as you skim your book, knowing the terminologies and summary for the chapters, you'll be fine. Strongly recommend this class. It's very interesting!!!

You havn't attended FJC untill you've taken this man's class. This is one of those classes where the grade you get is of the utmost UNIMPORTANCE; you just need to take it. The laughs are so long and cathartic they're therapeutic. It's enough to make you forget you're at a community college. Note that the larger the class the better.

all i can say abt him tht just take his class....... an easy A with lot of fun.... u can even sleep in the class....... but its really really really easy to get an A...... just make notes thts all.......fun class.......he's the man

Great professor. One of the best I've ever had. Entertaining. Always brings up stories. It's more similar to Universities because he gets a lecture hall. He is a brilliant man. I learned a lot and passed with a B. 3 tests, 1 final. You can drop one but the highest grade you can get is B. For an A, you have to keep all 4 of the test grades.

Like any college course, u have 2 put some effort. A's are very possible with Byde. Just read the text, and go to lecture (if it's not cancelled). No worries, he's fun to listen to. Prepare to get picked on, or called out if you speak up; that's 1/2 the fun. U can drop 1 exam 2 get a B, or just study alittle and get your A.You'll have fun w/ him~:)

I guess he gives some cover points to students. I got one B and two A- from 8 exams but got a final grade A. If you study, you can easily get an A from his class.

Professor Byde completely changed the course of my education. He is such a brilliant man. This class is the closest you'll come to a university-quality experience at FJC. READ THE TEXTBOOK, he isn't going to walk you through the basic material. He's walking material himself through.

I took him for abnormal psych. I agree he is definitely one of the weirder teachers, but he does know his stuff. Nice guy, but he does cancel class sometimes which isnt that great for a once a week class. Overall I would say take him but remember to read also.

Very good teacher!! Didn't show up for most of the classes, only before the test. He gives you the test questions, all you have to do is study for a few hours before the test and you'll do well. No homework, only exams. Took him for intro and am going to take another class, just because I know how to get an A.

Even though he looked like santa clause, he was very helpful, his personal stories helped to clarify his lectures. He had a couple of tests and gave study guides that were VERY helpful. If you go to class, listen, and use the study guides, you should be able to pass with flying colors. He was so good that i changed my major to psychology

Dr.Byde is a really fun professor to have. It's very obvious that he's intelligent, but he's not stuck up in the least. He knows that Psych 101 is a general ed class, and so while he makes the subject really interesting, he knows it's not everyone's major. Makes things simple in class, the exams are challenging, but it's a challenging subject.

When he showed up to class, he kept it interesting by keeping the class involved and laughing. Often goes of on tangents about his personal experiences but he's very funny n always lighthearted. You may be picked on, he may not show up, but I looked forward to class. His exams aren't easy but not impossible, his study guides are pretty concise.

He will read questions for study guides aloud, then answer them a couple days later in class if you cant find some. Make sure you do all these questions and the tests will be a breeze.

Just show up to class and listen to his stories about his rabbit marrick-louise, there were bonus questions about her on the test. Gives all possible questions for tests which was very helpful. Got an easy B. Would take him again.

I took Byde for 251H and 222 a few years ago. I learned a lot, but not about social psychology! He's hilarious and worth taking because he's a cool, laid-back guy (with quirky tests). Just don't actually expect to learn anything.

byde is a pretty good teacher, but a better comedian. you have to read a lot. multiple choice part of his tests are harder than the essay portion. he makes class interesting and makes students act like adults which i like. he knows a lot, take his class.

Dr Byde is the funniest teacher I have ever had, and in a subject I am not crazy about, that was really helpful. He always finds something cool to say, and is always willing to answer questions. Just read your book, really listen and take notes--then you will be fine!

Mr. Byde is hilarious especially if you know psychology, otherwise some jokes may go right over your head. Very intelligent and knows what he's talking about but he doesn't always cover each topic thoroughly so you gotta read (and you should either way). Class is graded on tests and the tests are not hard at all. I loved this class

One of the nicest and funniest teachers. Tests were kind of long but not too bad.

People always knock Dr. Byde for not having a real lesson plan, and him going on half hour tangents, but in all honesty, the man is brilliant. You learn so much about social psychology, and even more about life in general. He may not have a strict lesson plan or even care if you go to class or not, but the guy is a fantasic professor.

What an interesting class! The teacher is a kick, esp. when he gets on tangents and you wonder if he's presenting himself as a case study... but loved it! Study for tests (esp his handouts and ESP the book) and pass easily!!! Don't flake off, tho, cause its all curved. GREAT TEACHER!

While he does go on tangents, he finds a way to bring it back to the lesson at hand. I feel quite frankly blessed to have been taught by him. A gem in a school of really poor teachers...

Dr. Byde is a very smart man. He has a great sense of humor. He gives a great study guide, but you do have to write detailed essays for the tests. He does miss class a lot. He grades on a curve. I would take him again.

Alright, so if you don't have a sense of humor, be prepared to be easily offended. The class is interesting but can get really boring sometimes. He cancels class A LOT. Textbook was kinda unnecessary to go and spend 100+ dollars on considering I opened it maybe one or twice since he puts all the lectures online. Easy class. Just show up for lecture

Don't know quite how to describe him...I hated him in the beginning, but enjoyed the class in the end. He reminded me of a homeless person, but had a great sense of humor! Very easy class, posts all his notes online, but he can word his tests strangely..can get confusing. If he gives you a study guide, use it!! It perfectly reflects the test!!

Mr. Byde does resemble a hobo. He often talks about the most absurd things and can get off topic(if encouraged by laughter). Overall, his class is simple. All I did was skim through the required reading material, and used the study guide to help me study. The study guide guarantees a C+, but reading the book will DEFINITELY give you an A.

What can I say about Mr. Byde? He's a really easy teacher and makes the class fun, he's always in his office when he should be and is understanding of personal circumstances. 1 time I got into a car accident and so he let me take a test a week late outside his office. He's a really great guy, though he does sometimes get off subject.

His lectures are fun but he can get sidetracked from time to time and brings in laughter. For his tests he will give study guides. Use them but don't depend on them. Read the books selected chapters for each test and you'll be fine. For that A grade, make sure to know the material. Other than that, its an intro class, with a cool interesting dude.

For the tests, remember B for Bob. Seriously. This man is a complete genius though. If you want to learn psych, go to his class. If you want your A, go to his class. I'd recommend it for people who care about learning though.

no quiz or homework just 4 exams.sometimes lectures can be boring and get off topic, but other times he lectures directly from the test, his reiew days are very important to attend, 2 of the exams he went over 80 questions of a 100 question test word for word you cant ask for much more than that to prepare for a test

I still think about how great this class was. He is so calming it's almost as if you are being hypnotized to remember the information. I really appreciate that he presents the most current information and selects an updated textbook. He brings the material to life by sharing stories from the field.

Don't miss class, be gives you the answers to all the study guide questions through lecture and tells you what the test q's will be the class before your exam. Take him if you have a sence of humor.

Don't take this class if you're not a good test-taker. That's all the test is. If you're a good, independent worker then you'll do fine. Dr. Byde sparked my interest in Psychology. He explained the concepts really well. He's super funny and his classes are pretty easy. no quiz, no hmw, just 4 tests (that he hands out study guides for).

People need to stop complaining about classes that actually make you work. This is college, not high school. Byde is a great professor. Not my favorite class but he did his job well. I learned a lot & was prepared for the tests (4) which were doable. Read the chapters, attend all meetings & take good notes. No HW. This class isn't very difficult.

This class is not overly structured, which a lot of people don't like. He goes "off topic" a lot, but it almost always has something to do with the lecture, if you pay attention. He makes psychology more real and fun. He's also hilarious! He understands his students and wants to make the class more fun and easier to follow through his stories.

The class is super easy, if you take all your notes there is no way you will fail. The only problem is, he gets off topic alot, so if yourereally into getting straight to the point , dont take him, his lectures can sometimes get annoying but he i really funny

I've learned so much about life and people in general from his lectures. He makes the class easy for you by providing PP & study notes online. He also goes over the study guide with you in class.

Byde is an awesome teacher!!! He is funny, smart and really makes the class interesting. He can be really helpful but it is the student's responsibility to ask for help. The book helps but youre not going to fail just because you dont open it. Come to class prepared or else he will call you out in front of everyone. I highly recommend this class!

In general, Byde is an awesome professor. His humor is very dry, which I enjoyed. The main complaint I have is that he lectures by just sitting in his chair in the front of the lecture hall and doesn't really project his voice (which made it easy for me to get distracted, but thats just me). Come to class and do the readings and you'll be fine.

I took him for Psych 101 during Spring 2013. He does not take attendance. Hands out/Emails study guides and basically goes over the test the week prior. Tests, especially essay questions, are moderate in difficulty. I wrote a two page essay, very clear and concise, and still received a B on it. Also, he grades on a large curve. Easy class to pass!

Byde has such a big heart and he's easily one of the best professors I've ever had. He's very funny and I loved his lectures. His course is pretty easy as long as you read and study the notes. If only he taught 161!

Honestly, Byde is an awesome professor. I took his class this past Spring and had alot of fun in the class. He does give study guides which help a great deal on the tests. Take this class before he retires period. He had me challenge myself in ways I didn't know I could and had a profound affect on my life. Come to class ready to learn and engage your mind. Easy class and very interesting especially if you enjoy psychology. Tests are easy as long as you pay attention during lecture and take notes. He is an awesome professor. He's a biology guy at heart, so he tends to focus more on neuropsychology and biopsycholgy. He does get off topic sometimes, but he makes you laugh and enjoy the class. Because of him, I switched from psych to biopsychology as my major. I heard he is retiring soon, that will be a very sad day for Fullerton college.

This professor is unique in many ways. He will teach you not only the material and content of psychology, but provide examples of real life situations and break it down in an eye-opening point of view. Take him to learn, grow as a person, and to challenge yourself as a student.

He was the most easiest professor I have taken. However, I did not attend class often but I passed with a B. His attendance wasn't mandatory. But when I did go to class, his lectures was long but funny. I dig him. I believe it is his last semester so take advantage psych majors!

Currently taking his class. Just received grades back from our 1st exam. I scored a B+ simply through memorizing and studying all his review sheets, and specific questions he said would be on the written portion. DON'T buy the book (trust me), invest in highlighters and flashcards instead. Highly recommend if you want a laid-back class.

TAKE THE CLASS! so I haven't even passed the class yet but professor byde is by far the best educator in my college career. If you are a psych major I guarantee you that he will change your life. He had his own private practice for 20 years and applies how he treated patients into the lectures. Just do it.

His tests are tough, I suggest you study if you want a good grade on it. If you expect an easy A , this is not the class. He also hates cell phones in class.

Dr. Byde is very funny, and is a fun teacher. His PSYCH 100 class was pretty easy; He gives three tests, and gave us complete study guides for them that he goes over in class. If you do the readings and are there for the study guide reviews, you FOR SURE will get an A. I did not open my psych book once and got an A+. Also, doesn't take attendance.

He is very funny. He teaches by relating the lecture to everyday life. Gives and reviews study guide and gives notes before actual tests. I would recommend preparing yourself and reading ahead (it helps if you use good study techniques). He gives good feedback. I would take his class again.

Dr Byde is a great teacher. Though the book was not used very often(cannot pick a specific time i pulled it out), he supplements with his own definitions and his own knowledge. Show up( especially on review days), take notes and be prepared to laugh. Is one of my favorite teachers, I decided to take his abnormal class. I recommend him.

LOVE this professor. He's so genuinely kind and cares for his students. The study guide is pretty much the test, just show up, take good notes and you'll be fine.

I love Dr. Byde. he is so funny and makes the class very interesting. he kinda goes off lecture a lot but not to worry! he uploads study guides and reviews them a week before the exams. (study guides are exactly like the exams) grades on a curve. love him! took him for Psych 101 and got a B

I'm a psychology major. Fun fact- my psychologist had him as a teacher . He is an amazing teacher .He made it so easy and interesting . He goes over the study guide so you know what to expect . I passed just by reviewing the study guide .hea very funny and tells a lot of life stories . I'll take him for abnormal psychology next semester

Dr. Byde is the reason why I have chosen to pursue being a psychologist. I took two of his classes and learned more from him than any of my other professors at FC. He truly is passionate about his work, his students, and shows a great appreciation for life in general. His class isn't that hard because he helps you succeed. He's also pretty funny.

Prof. Byde is an exceptional instructor. Although his class consists of only lectures, and attendance is not mandatory. Your grade reflects on only 3 tests that have 2 components to it. He provides layouts of the chapters and study guides online that he goes over in class so honestly I never opened my book.

Dr. Byde was such a wonderful professor to have for abnormal psych. His lectures were not mandatory but they were still great to attend and learn from. Dr. Byde gives you all the tools to succeed in his class as long as you want to use them. He is quite a character in lecture and shows his love for psychology daily.

BEST PSYCHOLOGY PROFESSOR, if you are a psych major TAKE HIM!!!! His study guides are VERY SIMILAR to the tests! He goes over the study guide a week before the test, plenty of time to study. I am taking him for Psy222 and I'm excited!

Prof. Byde is the most hilarious, inspirational, amazing professor at FJC. His classes are lecture based, but very easy to follow. He gives you his course guide, and even psychoanalyzes students in class in a light hearted way, to make sure you're entertained and paying attention. I wish he taught more classes so I can hear him more often!

funny, good professor. sometimes he trails off a bit or talks about aliens. tests are extremely similar to study guides so you really only need to look at those. barely used textbook. he definitely is very knowledgeable and likes when students ask questions. pretty straightforward class

Great professor who loves the subject. Show an interest in the class and your grade- he will help during office hours. He can be hilarious but also gets a lot done. THE STUDY GUIDES ARE EVERYTHING. The book is not necessary but the reading is interesting. HIGHLY recommend him.

Byde is a great professor. He has no power points just a pen, paper, and a projector. Does get off track a bit. Funny guy and takes pride in his teaching. Class can get boring but if you do your hw and study guides and test you should be fine.

Professor Byde is an awesome Professor. I really enjoyed his class. He is easy to understand.

Tests will be tough if you did not study the notes and chapter outlines very deeply. He is a great professor who gives very good lectures. He writes them free hand with on the projector camera and draws examples. He makes it so that the lectures aren't so stale and boring and makes them fun yet very informative.

I WILL NEVER FORGET DR. BYDE. He is by far, one of the funniest and most influential professors I have EVER MET! He is kind and I won't lie reminds me of santa clause. He knows what he is teaching and feeds you the info in the most relatable way. His stories are hilarious and memorable. I have a learned a lot about life and psych because of him! :)
