very nice teacher...goes out his way to help...easy grading...did i mention cute...i loved this class even though it was 8 in the morning
Robert is a great teacher. When he offers help please take it. I took math my first year and recieved a 1.0 after taking Robert I recieved a 3.0 I can extremely think with out him I wouldn't have gotten the grade in which I recieved.
I really liked Connolly. He was clear, obviously knew what he was talking about, and was willing to help. I know a lot of people didn't like him, but lets be honest it was because they weren't getting the grade they wanted. He is totally not my type, but for whatever reason I found him to be quite attractive. I'd take him again if I could.
Connolly is great help. Goes above and beyond to help make sure you understand what hes teaching. Even helps adjust grades to help you pass.
He was a great teacher! At the beginning of the course I was struggling. I went to the ASC every day before class and he was there ready and willing to help me! Quiz every Friday, but if you go to the ASC he will tell you everything that's on it. And it's usually only 2 questions. GREAT TEACHER!
This guy is amazing. He creates little side notes and tells you that you should make a sheet of "important formulas and concepts" which helps beyond belief. He explains everything very clearly and tries to help students succeed. I wish I could have him for pre-calc now.
Rob is a VERY good math teacher. He will help you in whatever ways he can. Offers office hours frequently which is really helpful. He explains the concepts clearly and gives good feedback on quizzes and homework.
LOVE prof. Connolly! Highly recommended! He is very nice and really cares about his students. Enjoyed coming to his class and you can understand him easily. I am not interested in math, but I enjoy coming to his class. If you have the opportunity to take him, do it. you will not regret it!
VERY GOOD PROF.! He genuinely cares for his students and always offers help. He's sarcastic and laid back. He also does a good job clarifying the material. Highly recommended for those who struggle with math.
Such a great professor! He's always willing to help his students no matter what. Take him if you have the opportunity he's a great guy
Amazing professor
I suck at math, but I do extremely well in his class. He is an amazing teacher, really young, and explains everything very clearly. You do have to attend every single class though. I would not recommend skipping. Homework is only around 5 problems too.
Professor Connolly is a really great teacher. I'm horrible at math and I thought I was going to fail the class but, Connolly is awesome at explaining things and pointing out your common errors. He makes himself available for tutoring if you need it, and he doesn't make you feel intimidated to ask questions. Read the textbook, and go the workshop.
If math is not your best subject, you should for take him. He is very good at explaining things and puts a lot of work into his class. He does grade hard however. Class is mandatory because he gives you homework in class that you cannot make up if you were absent. Overall, a good teacher and extremely nice.
Best math teacher I ever had! Extremely helpful. The class wasn't hard for me but if you have a history of struggling in math he will definitely be available to help you as long as you WANT to do well in the class. Don't need textbook just workbook and ALEKS. Buy ALEKS separately and you'll save alot of money!
very strict on homework. ran out of time while doing notes which made me feel like I was missing important parts of a quiz or homework assignment. there is daily work but he gives u decently easy questions and will help u at office hours everyday as long as you show you gave effort. i wouldnt say it was easy a easy class to pass&im good at math
This prof is willing to help and stay for office however he is horrible at instructing. He spends a great deal of time complaining about the shortness of each class and how there isn't enough time to go through important examples in our notes. He doesn't explain well and copies his notes directly from the book which is already confusing enough.
I was always good at math but coming to this class i relied on the teacher taking up homework or answering questions but that never happens. Youre expected to know the material and it is really not explained well at all. Unless youve taken calc before dont sign up for this class
You will have to study a lot for this class, even if you believe you're great at math. He has office hours, and does his best to help students succeed. I definitely recommend taking Connolly for Calculus.
Great teacher. He goes over the confusing parts of lecture in detail.
Never had an A in math before and finally there a teacher who taught me how to get an A. If you don't understand something the first time around he has more then one way to explain it which helped me a ton. You can get away with buying just the online book code for the My Math Lab section.
Professor Connolly is one of my favorite professors. He genuinely wants the students to do well. He spends 8+ hours making us reviews for our exams (on his day off!) and will spend as much time as it takes to get you to understand. You definitely have to put in the work but he's absolutely wonderful.
Great class. What ever notes he gives are on the quiz and tests. 3 tests 9 quizzes and 3 homework grades. Quizzes cover just a couple sections. Tests covers a chapter or so. He does examples more than lecture. I would take him again.
he is a nice professor and willing to help you after class. quizzes, hw+ should do them for extra credit. you should go over the quizzes and hw then u will be fine in class
Luckily, I took Calculus in high school and got a 4 on the AP Test. I took the class as a refresher and an easy 4.0. It wasn't easy. The class moved quickly.. A lot of quizzes. Testing makes up all of your grade. HW isn't collected, but you better do it. He takes most notes straight from book but still struggles to explain them.
Didn't enjoy the class at all. He read from the book for every lecture and it seemed like he barely knew what he was talking about. When asked questions in class (If there was time to) he had to reference his own notes before he could answer. Though he was not the worst grader, and also didn't give much homework, I wouldnt take a class of his again
He spends the first ten minutes of class trying to get sympathy for the "hours and hours" he spent grading or creating assignments. Never got grades done in a reasonable time and doesn't even seem to understand the concepts he teaches. He does give you candy on test days to make you feel better about failing your life away
I like the way he structured the course and I thought the examples he gave in class and homework problems he assigned we perfect to help understand the material. His primary focus was setting us up to pass, which I greatly appreciated.
I've never seen a professor devote so much time to ensuring that the students have adequate resources to do well. He's definitely the best math professor I've ever had. It's not an easy A, but he makes sure you actually learn the material in order to succeed. He's super helpful and loves when you go to his office hours. I absolutely recommend him.
This professor has no idea what he's doing. Never gets through the notes, yet he still feels the need to spend the first15 minutes of class complaining about the "hours upon hours" he spent grading. When handing exams back, he told us he rushed grading them, and we "better not question his grading" even if he did something wrong....?? WHAT A JOKE.
Gives you so many resources. First off, he gives out old tests and quizzes and the grading keys of those so you know exactly what will count for points. Secondly, he sometimes posts completed in class notes. The class was really difficult, but I have to say, it's most likely the easiest Calculus class that you will take.
Although Dr. Connolly puts in effort to giving out resources like old exams he doesn't do a good job at teaching. Its as simple as that. My self and my class mates would leave lecture not understanding how to solve problems while he spends lecture time copying down notes for us to copy down.
I wouldn't take from this professor ever again. The tests had material we never went over in class, and he took points off for little things if you didn't do the problem exactly his way. He is too worried about binder checks and you self grading your own tests to worrying about teaching math. I normally pass with an A but I am struggling for a B.
Dr. Connolly is one of the only professors I have ever taken that seemed like he actually cared about me as a student. He wanted to make sure I actually understood the material, not just got the grade. He provides hours of office hours, and will come in on his own time to help if needed. He is not a bad professor, you are all just poor students.
If you want it, WORK HARD & LONG HOURS to understand the material, he will help you! VERY PICKY. Since I took the 8 week course & was given a lot of extra credit, I don't know if I would take his class again w less extra credit. DO the 60+ problems for the binder check(easy points),BUT not at the expense of studying for exams. It's 5 points..
This professor gives lectures and students are expected to take notes on packets he posts on moodle, however, these in class notes aren't clear and are wordy. He doesn't give examples using numbers and he expects every problem to include a theorem citation, a therefore statement, or some other form of proof. Simply solving the problem isn't enough.
He is good teacher, but a tough grader. He will you help you only if you ask for it. His tests are also very difficult and he grades very tough. In my class he gave gigantic curves because of how bad the scores were.
Probably the reason why OU's math department gets audited every year. He just copies notes from books but with poor work then expects you to get show the work he wants on the exams... 90% his notes are incomplete and you have to finish them. I got an A when I took this class in high school but I have a 3.0 here. Pop quizzes are fair but annoying.
HE GIVES OUT TARDIES LOL IS THIS HIGH SCHOOL!? Tried to go to his office hours but he has his trashy GF in there and it's too awkward so I don't go. Notes are just theorems and he rushes through problems but then expects pristine work on the quizzes and tests. Very annoying to listen to, he whines a lot. Doesn't seem to care about the students.
Terrible professor!!!! Would NOT recommend him to anybody!!! Lets everyone else grade test and exams and the grading isn't fair at all. He expects you to do it his way or it's wrong!
Connolly handled the tests, and exams. He went over the material just before the tests to refresh your memory. He was nice, and if you needed help and went to office hours he would help. You won't need the book, just the code. Expect online homework and lots of it. As long as you put in the effort and let him know, you will succeed.
Dr. Connolly is a good but tough professor. He hammers the minutia so you must pay attention. With that said, he does give VERY generous curves. You must work hard and stay up to date on the homework if you expect to pass. As a person, he is strict yet understanding. He is an extremely hard worker. Don't be fooled by his tough-guy persona.
There's no math involved, it's 100% based on the memorization of theorems. He doesn't show you the work he wants on quizzes/tests then expects perfect work on them. Honestly felt like I learned nothing, the SI Ahmed was cocky and rude too. I'm not dumb, I took several AP courses in high school but this class killed my GPA this semester. OU math ?
He gives a lot of resources but he struggles as a teacher. He copies notes from the book and requires unnecessary work which makes getting full points in exams/quizzes difficult. I feel like if you can memorize but not understand, you can get a good grade. Don't bother trying to understand because you'll just end up more confused. Very mean guy too
Connolly was my first class of the day (yay), so there were times I'd be 2 minutes late to class and BE MARKED TARDY OR LATE. BEWARE. Anyway, besides that he is one of the better math professors at ou. He's fairly amusing, has a nice 'flavor' and really does provide a TON of review materials if you're smart enough to use them (...I was not...)
I have never met a person who is so unwilling to help you and someone who dresses SO unprofessionally for his job , Congratulations you have a PhD get over yourself
This was one of the most tough classes I've ever had. The sheer volume of homework made it difficult to spend time on supplemental material, let alone have time to study for other classes. Prepare to have calculus become your life this semester. He's not a bad teacher at all, but a lot of material has to be covered in a short amount of time.
Worst prof ive ever had, no help at all, brags about his PHD.
His lectures were straight out of the book and weren't very helpful. However if you had questions, he was great at answering them. He also gave curves and a ton of office hours. He also provided a ton of additional resources on Moodle. Expect pop quizzes and tough grading.
Connolly is VERY relatable to you, he puts what he wanted as a student into his class and it's awesome. Web-Assign, Guided Notes, and LOTS of practice exams gives you what you need to well on exams there's lots of drops. Did I mention there's self-grading EXTRA CREDIT on exams. He guides you very well for the final, but watch pop-quizzes weekly.
Very useful. I've gone to him two times during office hours and he has helped me immensely each time. Very relate able to me as a student and doe his best to do what he would have wanted his professors to do for him. Material is covered fast but that is up to the math departments director, not him.
Notes are basic Boring lectures don't learn anything
If you really want to pass this class you have to dedicate yourself 100%. Class is challenging but not impossible notes are weak with the lectures. Pop quizes every week
Worst professor I've had. He recommends printing out the packets of notes for each section, but he rarely, if ever finishes them. Gives quizzes with no warning, and is an extremely tough grader. He doesn't teach you calculus, he teaches you how to memorize his methods and notation so you have a chance at passing.
Connolly knows what he is talking about in his lectures but he can be very rude about things. He expects a lot out of students to the point where he at times shows high disappointment. To him you must be a master of the material by next lecture.
If you are not fully dedicated to math, you will never pass! I didn't have a problem with his personality, but the tests were outrageously hard, no matter how hard I studied, I still got no where. If you don't work, have other classes, have hobbies, or family things, this class can be for you, but if you do one of these things, expect a ruff ride.
I wish he was my workshop instructor and not only my lecture instructor. As with many early OU math classes, lecture is short and reserved for quizzes and tests. I visited Dr. Connolly in his office hours and he was extremely helpful. He showed me ways to build upon my math foundation which aided me and saved my grade. I'd take him again.
He wears flip flops and gives a test every week. If you are not a math wiz you will not pass. Goodluck
So, I've had him for about 3 weeks now.... and this class makes me consider taking math at Macomb community or occ. He does not teach. This "lecture" class, is actually an exam/quiz class. you get either an exam or a quiz, once every week. And a webassign basically everyday. Sooo good luck people. choose wisely.
Lot of homework and tests
Honestly, Dr. Connolly comes off as a super macho, mean guy in the large lecture halls, but he's very opposite if you meet with him privately. Lots of homework in this class, roughly 150 problems per week . Never really knew what to expect on the exams either. Hard class, and you aren't allowed to use a calculator which makes it so much worse.
Had a difficult time in class , moved too quickly. Went over course work before Quizzes though.
Bobby and his Asian Scooby-doo crew make the testing lecture interesting. After staying up all night studying for a test, still being lost, it's kinda nice to have comedic relief from stress. From bobby wearing flip flops and loafers, to his Asian crew being way to happy to be there, to you laughing at your failure. Youll have a SO MUCH FUN
Very inconsiderate of students. Assigns a lot of homework, even the night before exams and does not make homework available until 4pm. Marks points off for very minor mistakes on exams.
Pop quizzes every week. Doesn't teach calculus, just teaches you to memorize his notation. DO NOT take him, he's rude, never finishes notes, extremely unprofessional. On top of webassign every night he assigns book problems and then studying for the pop quiz, he's extremely unfair and not understanding.
Dr. Robert Connolly, is an okay professor. There are 8 quizzes and 6 exams, both require precise work or points will be deducted. He is a picky grader. These take place every other week. WebAssign homework is assigned every other night, this is REQUIRED and difficult. There are 25-100 questions on each homework assignment, it is time consuming.
He is a great teacher the math department at OU just sucks over all.
At the beginning of the semester the amount of homework problems was ridiculous, like 40 to 50 problems, two or three times a week. As the semester went by, it went down to like 20 to 30. The only good thing was that the 7 lowest homework grades were dropped, he did the same thing with the lowest quiz grade. Quiz or exam every week.
Do not take this class, Take any other math professor and I guarantee they will be better. All he does is give an exam or quiz every other week, and he grades super hard. If you skip class get ready to retake because you won't pass. Very unacceptable teaching, 40% failed in my class. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere
Anyone but this guy. took 3 exams and he didn't curve one of them even though the average was a 50%. take any other teacher!!!!
If you're really good at math you shouldn't ave a problem. I'm not the greatest so calculus was a challenge. This prof is very detailed about notation of problems and helps to prepare you for the final exam with it!! Homework is online and extra textbook problems are given as practice only. I recommend going to SI as much as possible!
Class was mainly just test or quizzes. We learned how to do everything in the workshop. I don't like how we can't use calculators for this class. Webassign homework is daily and keeps you busy. If you take this class make sure you have time to put in. Exam or Quiz every Tuesday too. That sucked.
Grade depends on tests and exams which are once a week in a lecture hall. He doesn't give much partial credit so be ready to be solid on your formulas and final answers. He also doesn't make time to help you or answer questions.
Great math teacher. He provides lecture notes online, and a bunch of other resources. Highly suggest him if you are able to take his class. Nothing like the other math professors. Just listen to his advice and do your HW and you'll pass.
Great professor, very clear about what is to be expected on future exams. Provides old exams from previous semesters - very helpful. DO THE HOMEWORK thoroughly, and if SI is attached to the lecture attend!
Take him if you have already had calc. Not a class to take as an easy A. Last nights webassign was 237 points! If you put in the work you will get a good grade.
For my class he made templates for all of our notes which kept me more organized and made it easy to keep up. He's very particular about notation, but it will deffinitely help you later on. His exams are hard, but you can always go to him if you need help or have trouble. The single best math professor I've had. He makes you work, but it pays off.
Want to pass good luck. Take this and all math classes at a community college.
This class is somewhat lecture ready. As long as you give your full attention and put in the effort, you should do fine. The highest math course I took in high school was Foundations of Calculus, and I for one didn't have that hard a time. Just pay attention and apply yourself, and you should do fine.
Where do I start? This guy is horrible. Remember Sweeny from Ned's Declassified? Very similar to that. Scares students often. "If you don't do this step, YOU WILL GET NO POINTS FOR THE ENTIRE PROBLEM." "If you don't pass the first exam, it will be near impossible to pass the course." Those are a few quotes from what I remember from the class.
Lost a $24,000 scholarship because of this guy and his arrogant ways. Does not care at all and thinks the world revolves around him. Completely disrespectful.
Overall hes a good guy and just wants you to pass
He's not horrible, he wants you to PASS and truly understand the material. Go to workshop, understand the questions, and study and you should be fine. His exams aren't crazy hard but the class isn't a blow off either! He's a veryyy picky grader, homework every time you have lecture
Okay I'm not a math person , however honestly, he's very fair and easy to follow in lectures. He's very clear about what will be on exams. He's very approachable as well. I also think workshop is helpful. Yeah this class may not be an easy A, but if you go to lectures and workshop, and do the homework, then you'll be just fine!
Avoid taking it with him!
Avoid avoid this guy by all means. I have taken college algebra at OCC but not the trig. Decided to take Pre calc at OU biggest mistake of my life. Exams are not hard but if you do not show every single step he will deduct points. At OCC my grade for algebra was Here failed with 32%. Take my advice and take math at OCC. OU math department is bad
Definitely a tough teacher, does not really teach the material as much as he just writes the notes on the screen which was hard for follow. 75-80% what he shows you in the notes is not on the homework or exam. He does make math somehat interesting and is not boring, but he could have a better method of preparing us for the exam.
The exams are graded very toughly. Make sure to study for days in advance for exams. Lots of assignments and expect 288 point reviews before the exams, too.
hes a "ok" teacher, I grades everything tough. he doesn't curve nothing, he's jacked up Red Bull 24/7. he doesn't teach nothing well.
He signs every email "Do Not Reply to this Email" and he makes sure that you know he should be your last resort. Goes out of his way to be unhelpful. Lecture notes templates are useful hut that's it. Do not take his classes if math is not your strong suit. Do yourself a favor and take math at OCC
Lectures are ok, but he moves fast. With the lecture size being large, it is hard to ask questions. I felt that the mandatory workshops were pointless because they were poorly designed and in my opinion, a waste of time. Tests are extremely hard and sometimes he gives a lot of homework problems. I did not like the set up of this class or professor.
I have previously taken precalc and calc 1 in high school and was placed in this class by mistake and could not switch out. I found this class very easy. He was very clear with how he wanted things graded. He drops the lowest 8 webassign scores and replaces two exam scores with the final exam grade (if higher). I would recommend.
I found this class to be pretty easy. I took Precalc & Calc in highschool, so most of the material was familiar. Theres a workshop with this class which is helpful if math isnt your forte. There are 6 exams, each one had 3 optional "time trials" which I HIGHLY reccomend you do. Overall it wasnt a terrible class. Put in the work, you'll be fine.
There is a test every other week so you are constantly studying. He is not the worst math professor he just makes you work for your grade. Get a good workshop teacher or you will be lost.
Overall not a bad teacher. You just have to work for your grade.
Dr. Connolly is a phenomenal professor. Im so glad that I took precalc with him. He is clear with his expectations and provides students with ALL the necessary tools to do well on tests. Test questions are similar to or are from the textbook or lecture notes. Take him for math and you wont regret it!
He's an average teacher at best. There's a lot of webassign that most of the time you have 1 day to complete. Exam every other week. So if u have other harder classes, rethink about taking this one. The workshop instructors don't teach anything even though Connolly constantly states that they will. Spent more time for this class than Anatomy
Hes ok, acts likes hes bored with the material when he lectures. In my class (1441) he made note templates we printed witch was helpful. Our final exam grade replaced up to 2 of our exam grades witch was nice. Homework after each lecture that took me about 2 hours. I would take him again if I had no other choice, he's not terrible but not great.
Robert is a very intelligent Math professor. I took Pre-Calc at my high school and is one of the reasons why i did well in this class. GO TO THE WORKSHOP!! He gives easy points out for the Drills during the workshop, and this is where you learn new material. Don't wait till the last minute to do WebAssign. 6 Tests, lowest 2 get replaced with Final
Dr. Connolly was a professor who was knowledgeable and provided clear expectations on what to expect for upcoming exams. Exams were hard, and he can be a rough grader. The workshop and WebAssign were the two sources that helped increase my chances for success besides lecture. If you come to class and do the homework and drills, you will be solid.
It's unfortunate that there is limited to no one-on-one time with the Prof. I would love to give him five stars, but I also think that this particular course is a weeding course to make sure that students who aren't great at math fail. Fortunately I got an A, but I did have to work harder for his course than my 400+ PSYCH courses, which is wrong.
I appreciated him for helping me change my first worshop instructor because I wasnt learning anything. at the same time he makes you feel stupid for asking questions. He is a great teacher dont get that wrong but he dont ever have time for his student thats why make sure you have a great workshop teacher because he wont be available at all
I didnt like the fact that this class was too much for no reason. If it is your first time taking this course and your trying to pass with a decent grade, you have to study your ass off everyday and nonstop. To get an A in this course you have to study so much if your first time and by the end of the semester youre already irritated.
Horrible teacher will fail you for having erased work not clean enough hung up on technicalities rather than the students learning the material horrible man and program the workshop teachers even say hes an idiot
Overall. If you are taking MTH 061 MTH062 OR PRECALC in the fall semester, you are going to take it with connolly. He is not bad, expects alot when you do exams (states it to). Have a good workshop instructor, do problems and webassign before class. He states on whats going to happen in class. There are quizzes after workshop too.
There is lots of homework also. Hes overall a good guy and teacher but can be boring when teaching
You will see comments saying he is unfair and the tests are difficult; he is very clear about test expectations & you will NEVER see a problem you haven't seen before. The people complaining are students that do not take workshop seriously, talk the entire time, or who do not go to lecture. The amount of material is a lot; just stay on top of it.
Connolly is the head of the test section for math 0662. He is very full of himself and is never available to seek outside of class, all of the professors look up to him like he is some sort of idol of math. Im glad I am done with him
I had to retake this class & both times with him. The tests are all book problems. They added drills since the last time I took it, which really help summarize the lesson. Although he's egotistical and cranked on red bull at lectures, you'll be fine if you do all of the HW and go to class. Glad OU is improving the math dpt, as it was on probation..
Not a fan of his personality, but he is a good teacher. You will do just fine f you skip the lectures and just go to the workshops
I don't really have a problem with the guy. Not a good personality, but will teach you the basics. I got screwed on my workshop professor, especially since they make you feel stupid for asking questions.
Lectures very quickly, will not go into specifics unless asked, (assuming you want to be the one who asks in-front of a class of 200+). The tests go from being easy to hard with a random pattern at best. sometimes material that was quickly covered shows up on the test worth 10% where as something he said would be on the test is small worth 2%
All we do is watch him copy down problems from the book and guzzle down 3-4 cans of Red Bull three days a week, oh and he loves stopping the lecture, giving a wide, eye-bulging stare, and getting genuinely angry when someone's phone merely vibrates while he's talking. Also doesn't let students take pictures of the lecture notes. Could go on forever
Lectures consist of watching him take notes and work through example problems. I had no problem with him as a teacher. If you have a basic understanding of pre calculus , it is not necessary to attend lectures.
I had taken precalc in high school and I thought I'd be fine in this class. I was not. Connolly was a decent guy but didn't really teach much. His idea of help is spend 3 times the amount of time you spend in class outside studying. The homework only helps so much and I did it all but the tests are worth so much. Workshop is the most useless thing.
Connolly was made to teach precalulus. He explained things well and would hint toward good exam or final exam questions. Go to every lecture and every workshop and you will do fine in the class. Professor Connolly could teach me concepts my high school precalc teacher couldnt. 10/10 would recommend! I used the online textbook (easier, convenient)
I took this class my freshman year and got a C and taking it again as a junior I got an A. He has changed ALOT of things about the class (for the better). Before we weren't allowed to use calculators, now we can, number of web assign questions have gone down, and there are no more quizzes, just exams every other week. Its obvious that he cares!
I liked him better than my workshop teacher (first semester). When I retook the class, his teaching paired with my new workshop teacher really helped push me to pass the class.
If you do your homework, time trials, and ask questions in class, you should be fine. He is very straight to the point, but definately realistic with his grading. A lot of people seemed disgruntled that there late homework is not accepted etc. but its the real world
Connolly has a bad reputation at OU, but honestly hes not that bad. The timed trials online are almost identical to exams 1-6 and even the final! I took him for 0662 and got a 4.0 and 1141 I got a 3.9. He is a tough grader. Webassign HW is extremely long and annoying. You have to work for your grade, time consuming but you can do it!!!
ok content is so easy but the way he grades is actually ridiculous. any small mistake will result in large point deductions. he just reads off his old notes and skips steps but will go over them if you ask (but will most likely be rude about it) honestly i would avoid him if possible.
I took him for MTH0661 and MTH0662 and I would take him again. He really does give you every tool to pass his class. He tells you EXACTLY what's going to be on it. He even gave out 3 practice tests (timed trials) that are identical to the exams. Make sure you get a good workshop instructor.
Connolly isnt as bad as some people make him seem. He teaches Pre-calculus well and does want people to pass with a good grade. Webassign is super annoying but he does drop 8 lowest scores. He does tend to skip around a bit if time runs out but will go over anything if asked. Super helpful office hours and emails.
Only see him once a week to take exams and that is MORE than enough. He is constantly late and then blames us for it. Tough grader and will mark down harsh on any simple mistake. Does not understand that people are not perfect, and many students have trouble. DO NOT forgot your ID when taking an exam, all hell will break loose.
There would be random written assignments. The workshop instructors were nice, but there is not much they can do to fix grades. Student graders do not grade exams well, and conolly makes it so annoying to make a meeting with him to fix anything. Overall, he is the laziest, worst professor I have ever had.
Random written assignments which we get no info on when it will happen. I have went to every single class and think the material is easy, but come test day, I become so confused it is difficult and different then what we learned in the workshops. He marks you down for simple mistakes on exams which is very dumb Not a good professor in my eyes.
This is the worst teacher I have had in all of my years of school. I am most likely going to have to change schools solely due to him. This is my second year in one of his classes because I failed due to his terrible teaching last year. Got tonsillitis and had a doctors note telling me I could not go to school and he gave me a zero for the test.
He marks you wrong for the dumbest reasons. He wants everything exactly perfect or else it's considered incorrect. He honestly cares more about if the work you show is neat or not. Will mark you wrong if it is not "neat", in his eyes. He's very lazy and always makes errors on the you-try alta problems. Also, he drinks waaay to much redbull.
Easy tests! He gives optional reviews before exams and its really helpful! Extremely clear on what will be on written exams and what you must do. Gives lots of leeway. He isnt the best teacher BUT his tests are seriously not hard. The one thing I would suggest is the reviews, youll do well on exams if you can do those. Watch for trick questions
Workshop professor was super nice but unable to help with most grading issues. Roberts lectures once a week were just a test so unless you want to take 15 tests in the semester, dont take math at Oakland.
He's fine. Doesn't seem like the nicest guy but he is somewhat reasonable when you talk face to face with him. The only big issue is that when he lectures, he skips over certain things and just assumes we know it, even though he just taught it to us.
Just don't do it
This guy is a freaking terrible professor I swear.
the worst professor I've ever had, i got hit by a car the day before an exam had a doctors note and still gave me a zero on an exam. I'm going to have to change my major just because of him if you are a sane person do not take this math with him.
Connolly clearly knows what he's talking about in great detail, but not much is translated to the students. It seems that if you don't have a great understanding of calculus before starting this class, then it will be very difficult. If you take Connolly's class then make sure you have a good workshop professor.
Awful proffesor. Workshop teacher was wonderful though. Lots of trick questions on the Exams. Wrap yourself in bubblewrap and ensure all family members are healthy, because there are NO makeup exams, not matter the reason. Yes the final can replace your 2 lowest grades but thats providing you do great on the final.
Dont miss ever. He doesnt let make ups for anything. He has a terrible reputation here at Oakland, even two of my other professors said so. I dont understand how you can get A on the you-trys, A on the homework, A on the written assignments, THEN FAIL THE MULTIPLE CHOICE EXAMS, and even if a whole class fails he wont curve it.
He is not as bad as everyone makes him out to be. He tells you what is on the tests too.
If you take this course at OU it will be very hard to secure a B prepare to teach yourself and be very careful of exams a lot of trick question. Also is very picky on exams if you forget to write a step you get a 0 even if you had the right answer
I took MTH 0661, super easy class, professor Connolly is very considerate, logical person who you can actually reason with, and always tries to help students to get good grades!
Terrible professor. Doesnt really teach, just goes over problems & make them seem way more complicated than really is. Takes off points for very little things like forgetting parentheses even if everything else was correct. Has a bad attitude all the time as if hes the most important person. Has to jump through loops to schedule an appointment
HES ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! You cant avoid him though! Hes over the whole math department. The first day hes going to try and sympathize with you.... I repeat. Do. Not. Fall. For. It. Its a trap. Just be prepared to study, cry and study some more. Its doable but you have to most definitely put in the work.
Tests every week good luck
You can't really "study" for math. You can only do so many practice problems to help you prepare, but... nothing in this class helps you prepare for what will be on the exams you get every week. If you already struggle in math taking it with Connolly will be no help. Also if you're someone who needs a high GPA for med school I wouldn't recommend.
Connolly is very bad at lecturing. Like any other math class, there will be homework every day. MAKE SURE you have a good workshop instructor. Although he was a bad teacher, he ended up adjusting grades at the end of the semester to make up for any struggles. If another teacher is available, avoid Connolly.
Use the book! I went to lectures and after would go through everything we didnt cover. I made friends to work with in workshop, which helps a TON. I did his optional reviews before exams, and rarely encountered a surprise exam question. I suck at math and found it to be fairly easy. Written exams were more difficult, but mult choice were fair.
Professor Connolly is not the best professor I have ever had. He is not a very clear communicator and does not offer a lot of feedback when you try to get in touch with him. He made the material being covered in PreCalc a lot more difficult than it actually is. If I wouldn't have previously learned the material, I would not have gotten a 4.0.
He talks for literally 40 minutes about stuff that can be easily said in about 5 minutes. By the time he is done rambling about whatever, there is only 20 minutes left in class which makes him rush things that are important and skips a lot of major problems and steps. A lot of the major problems that he skips are usually on the tests or HW.
Takes easy concepts and over complicates them so that nobody understands. It seems that he does this so that we bow down to him and idolize him for having a degree in such a "hard" subject. Don't take this class if you have never seen pre calc before, or be prepared to learn by yourself because he never finishes the lecture notes.
Does not go over examples completely. If you have other classes be prepared to pick which is more important. He believes he is the only teacher you have. There are multiple homework assignments, written assignments, and exams (written and multiple choice) every day/week. Many people including myself had to retake this course.
Not helpful at all, wastes half the lecture not teaching and then rushes through notes with little to no examples. Expects that students understand the material at the end of 1 lecture then piles on upwards of 5 online homework sections and then within a week you have a test on a previous material
Connolly is the worst professor anyone could ever have. Class is only an hour long and he wastes time talking about irrelevant stuff for 30 mins then rushes to finish a whole chapter of notes. If I could show you my class notes, you'd be shocked. Out of the whole 20 pg packet, he only gives about 2-3 examples and then expects you to understand it
I honestly dont know how this guy hasnt been fired yet. He is the worst professor I ever had. His lectures are 60 minutes and he wastes his time talking about stuff that really isnt important for more than 30 minutes and then he rushes through the examples and only does like 2-3 examples and expects us to know how to do everything after that.
- Does not finish notes - Says the questions are easy and that you should be almost done during an exam (rude) - Wears an unprofessional hoodie every day - The test is stuff he refuses to cover during lecture - Cant learn outside of class because he leaves the important problems from the HW Anyone who rated him above a 2 is in elementary alg.
Insanely pointless as a teacher I dont know how he was able to get a job he is better off going back to school to learn math again. He downs 3 Red Bulls every morning and wears the same sweatshirt everyday. Do not take him.
The WORST professor I have ever had. You have to print out 20 pages of notes and he will probably get through 2 pages. Downs probably 3 or 4 Red Bulls during the lecture and wears the exact same sweatshirt (literally everyday). Take my advice and take any math course @ occ if you wanna do well. Cause everyone I know is doing horrible.
Barely finishes 2/20 pgs of notes and wastes time talking about irrelevant stuff; wears unprofessional clothing to lecture; very rude and answers questions with ambiguity. 90% of test questions not covered in lecture. He does not know to how to explain the material, all he talks about is approved calculators and that hats aren't allowed in exams.
The worst professor I have ever had. If you are not an expert at math and are able to teach yourself everything about math you should NOT take him. Extremely tough grader, does not go over notes at all, zero help with any struggles. Everyone I know has failed this class or barely passed.
Robert Connolly Is a living proof that you dont need to be good at your job to get one. My gpa in his class is just as bad as his ratemyprofessor rating. I dont wear my seatbelt on my way to his class because I rather get hit by a car than to have him constantly tell us about approved calculators and not to wear hats and hoodies while exam.
All of the previous comments about him are true, but he also is a rude person. If you go and talk to him, he doesn't have enough guts to look you in the eyes. EXTREMELY RUDE
Hes just awful and a horrible grader. Math is a problem solving subject, but he makes us his sheep and requires you to answer all questions like a robot. My written exam average is a 60% while my multiple choice average is in the 80% range. How do you get two different avg on the same material? Because its impossible to solve EVERYTHING his way!!
Extremely rude and extremely unprofessional. He takes his time talking about stuff that is easy and skims through stuff that actually matters. You cant really ask him for help either because he makes you do unbelievable stuff just to talk to him. For example, he wants us to show him a study log before we even bother asking him for help. Horrible.
I had to take him Pre-Calculus. I was utterly unprepared for Calculus in the Winter semester. He skipped large sections of the final chapters and skimmed through lectures. He is extremely rude and unapproachable. Go to MCC.
The math department gets a bad rep, a lot of which is fair. I had no issues with Dr. Connnolly, he cares and was very helpful outside of class, and although a tough grader did some tweaking and such so that people did better. Calculus isn't an easy A no matter who teaches it.
Dr. Connolly expects you to know all of the material ahead of time without much explanation. There have been a few instances where he has skipped material and never gone back to it. He's basically the wizard of oz in terms of his office hours. You have to go on a journey just to meet with him outside of class. He runs the entire department. No go.
Possibly the worst professor I have ever encountered. Yeah, he can tell us about his masters in math and how he "used to struggle in math" but that doesn't matter when the majority of your students are struggling and might not pass. Teaches math like you are supposed to know everything already. An extremely tough grader too
I only saw him for my lecture when I would take exams but that was still enough for me to figure him out. He always complained about how you shouldn't wear hoodies during exams. He's strict about calculators. His graders are terrible. He never responds to emails. Wouldn't recommend.
If you have money to throw away for fun and wanna suffer I recommend him. Made us print notes never get through them though. Then tells us to make sure we know the material when he doesnt even teach us, better off teaching yourself rather than taking this class. The student instructors help more than him. Every night spending hours on his homework
if you have the option to, TAKE THIS CLASS AT A COMMUNITY COLLEGE!! Dr. Connolly has always been very strict about what he expects from students and makes pretty difficult exams with lots of material for once every week (so that barely left me any time to study for other classes)
I really never read the reviews on this instructor until I was mid way through the semester wondering if I was doing something wrong. Because I literally applied myself to an extreme extent trying to get a good grade. Way too test heavy no one is ever prepared. Not reachable out of the classroom. Do not take. I regret it. I withdrew I'm a 3.8 gpa.
WORST TEACHER EVER!!! if you need to take any math class, DO NOT TAKE IT AT OU. Take it at OCC. Connolly is the absolute worst teacher ever. I used to love math before his class.
Connolly is the worst professor i have ever had. i DO NOT recommend him to anyone. He wastes so much time in the lecture talking about policies and stuff that we already know and then skips thru the important stuff in the lecture. His exams are very tricky and difficult. I put so much effort and time for this class just to be caught up. He is BAD!!
I wish professors could get penalized simply for their rate my professor reviews... math is required for really any major in college and the fact the OU department is known for their high failure rate is upsetting. Luckily for us, the math classes at community transfer. TAKE YOUR MATH CREDITS AT OCC! (right by OU) and save yourself the headache.
Connolly is a good professor, you just have to come to class and actually study, this isn't a class that you can skip 2/3 classes a week. When going to the Final Exam review session the week before, he specified how to study... You do have to put in work and show up to get a degree.
This class is nowhere easy. I get 4.0 in all my classes except this one since I had Connolly as professor. He does not go into detail with problems or solve them in class and then you're stuck trying to learn everything on your own with no notes to look at. Exams are hard. Pick a different professor.
Connolly rushes through lectures and he talks to much at the beginning of the class. He chooses the easiest problems for the lectures and saves the hardest ones for homework and exams. He doesn't follow the textbook at all so to try and help yourself using the text book it nearly impossible. The textbook also doesn't explain anything well.
This class is HARD. Unless you're naturally good at math and don't need time to learn new material, you won't do well. I barely had a C in the class, mind you I am a straight A student. This class isn't impossible, you just have to work for it. Random questions here and there on tests. The tests are long, so watch your timing!
I am so unprepared for calculus because of him.
I literally changed my major so that I didn't have to take his class. If you got in an accident and broke both of your arms he still won't let you make up a test. The online homework is on material not even taught in class. My roommate has the same professor and when I got home from class she was crying while doing her homework.
You will learn very little by attending lectures. The online instructions through Alta and your SI are going to be what get you through this class. Connoly did not show any respect to students and constantly acted as though teaching this class was a burden. Another fine example of why Oakland's math department is on suspension.
Doesnt really teach you anything just kind of does problems without explanation and leaves you wondering if you actually learned anything at the end of the lecture
Worst math class I've ever taken. I came in with straight a's and from an IB school and I barely have a B in his class, even though I've taken precalc AND calc 1 in high school. His tests are full of stuff he never mentions in class. Most of the work is graded by computers so if you make any mistake your grade immediately tanks. Waste of money.
We just watch him slam 3 cans of Redbull three times a week. I dont think the dude sleeps, he emails us at 3am with attached lectures notes saying "print for tomorrow's class" ... you mean today's class in 5 hours!! Don't bother going to the lectures. Just make sure to pick a good workshop teacher in order to pass the class. Or take it at OCC.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! He isn't even the teacher for the class, he just hands out the tests. You get a test every week on different material you never learned in class, and he doesn't care about any of his students. Don't even bother asking for help on ANYTHING because his answer will always be I don't know, ask your workshop instructor. HORRIBLE!!
Just simply do not take this class with Connolly. its almost like he wants to fail his students. The homework is nothing like the lecture and the tests have things on them that we never learned! DO NOT EVEN TRY TO TAKE THIS CLASS WITH CONNOLLY
Terrible professor. Do not take his class.
He is the worst professor I have ever had. We have an exam every week, either an MC or a written. Half the time what is on the exam we have never learned in classes, it is designed to make students fail. If you can do not take his class, there is another professor with night classes that is better or take it online at delts. You will hate him
Absolute worst professor Ive had in my life. Normally never blame a teacher for grades received but Ive been an A student all my life and he is the reason why my scholarship was taken. This is the one class that weighed down my GPA. Forever regret taking this course. Does not care about student success in the slightest
Math is usually always an easy subject for me, but after having Dr. Connolly as a professor, I have to second guess myself about math. I have gotten every answer right on his written exams, but still received a very low grade. Because of him, I am now going to have an even harder time of getting into medical school. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!
not to be dramatic or anything but he is the worst prof I have ever had in my 3 years at Oakland. he is very rude and wants students to fail. will take 30 min of class just talking about pointless stuff and will rush through problems and won't even do them right. class is set up confusing and exam questions are hard. do not take !
Worst professor ever. If you aren't going into a course already knowing everything, don't take it because you will not learn anything. Tests weekly with problems you've never seen before. Do NOT take a math course at OU!!! It's not worth it.
If you haven't taken math in a while, don't take this class. You need a lot of prior knowledge because it is "all prereq material" as he likes to say. Some lessons were more confusing than they needed to be. Hard to access outside the class always telling you to ask your workshop instructor. Conveniently ran out of time on harder problems.
WORST "PROFESSOR" EVER. DO NOT take this class. Robert is the worst math professor at Oakland University. His tests are horrible and he rushes everything. In my workshop we had 30 students at the beginning of the semester, there is only 7 LEFT! EVERYONE DROPS. He is SO RUDE AND UNORGANIZED. He needs to be fired. Don't make the mistake and take him.
Probably the worst professor in the state of Michigan. He is rude and does not care for his students. I am going to fail because of him. The tests are designed to make us fail. I hope OU looks at the shocking amount of bad reviews this person has and fires them because this is not okay by any means.
Do NOT take this class! you will fail. Connolly is the worst professor i have ever had in my life. Your own mother could die and he would still make you take an exam the same day. The only thing he is good at is slamming redbulls at 8am. He is usually 3 deep by the 9:20 lecture. I would rather get every limb chopped off then take this class again.
The notes in class that you take with a different instructor, were super easy. I would show up with 30 minutes left in class and still understand the lesson. But the homework was hard. And the tests were harder. Study with your instructor and do the homework review. Visit the tutoring center!!!!!!!
This class is not an easy A. I recommend finding a tutor if you're struggling, because the information only becomes harder as the semester goes on. Very quick paced, a new lesson is taught every class. Look into who your workshop instructor is, that is what truly makes or breaks your ability to learn what is being taught.
Professor Connolly is a dispiriting professor. He seems to not care about his students and makes the class very difficult. I would strongly recommend getting a tutor and utilizing your workshop teacher as much as possible. Tests are much harder than the material learned in workshop and you tries. Good luck.
One of the worst professors I have ever had my entire college career. He belittles students and is extremely rude. One of his favorite sayings was, "you should understand this, it's college level math." He hides behind the thought process of students don't like math so they don't excel at it instead of reflecting on his teaching process.
He is a very intimidating professor which doesnt want to make you ask for help, and this is a VERY fast paced class. If you dont read the chapter before the lecture or you try problems, youll be in rough shape so I recommend doing that to help. The you try homework isnt too bad, but work at it bit by bit. Godspeed if you have him.
I wouldn't recommend Connolly (even though there's no choice) for precalc. I did well because I read the book and did all the homework and went to lecture. He's not helpful when asking questions and there is an exam every other week so lots of studying. He never had enough time for the story problems for each section. You can pass with hard work.
Having Connolly my first year at Oakland was awful. Lecture is a joke, consisting of him taking mediocre notes while drinking his daily three cans Red Bull, and he assumes that the material covered in class is just "review". Does little to show that he actually wants to be there and the biweekly exams are sure to have material never covered class.
Robert Connolly is the worst professor I've ever had. I took precalc before college and he made it way harder to learn than it needed to be. Ridiculous policies and is a very rude person. Had all high A's this semsester and this class absolutely screwed my GPA. Doesn't matter if you are a 4.0 student, good luck if you have him!!
This Professor is the worst one I have ever had. Connolly has made me hate math with a passion. I am constantly learning material on my own because of his useless lectures. He does the easy problems but never the hard ones that can be found on an exam. He makes you feel like an idiot if you ask any questions or ignores you altogether.
Although he spends half the class on emails and wont finish notes, he provides alot of resources to help you pass. He provides practice tests, notecards, and time trial problems. If you attend the HW workshops and use his resources you'll find you can pass this class despite all other reviews. Test are hard but alot of questions come from resources
His class is very fast paced and difficult. If you have not taken a math class in a while, I do not recommend him, everything to him is a "review." An exam every other week, consisting of sections that we did not fully go over in class but the workshops help if you have a good instructor. He wants his students to pass but does not know how to do so
He is the most delusional person I have ever met. He makes outrageous decisions to make class so much harder. I wish he never stepped foot into Oakland and will never ever be in a class with someone so stupid. He wore slippers to class he's so stupid. This is a professional job why don't you take it seriously.
Robert Connolly is the most pathetic excuse for a professor. The fact that Oakland hasnt replaced him is disgusting. I cant Wait to transfer schools bc Oakland wont do anything about him. Go anywhere else for math I promise You that you are saving you time, money, and effort. I would rather have trump teach me math and thats pretty sad
Taking this professor is the worst thing you could ever do. Dropping out and living a life homeless surrounded by violence and garbage sounds five million times better than ever seeing this man even one more time. Hes degrading and his teaching style will literally cause you depression, save yourself the time, money, and medication
Words cannot describe how annoying Connolly was at times. I'm good at math so the material was easy for me to pick up on but his lectures were torture and useless. He literally spent the first 20 minutes going through what he calls "Administrative stuff" and would rush through the material. Reach out to your workshop instructor if your struggling.
I already graduated Oakland but this freshman year class was the absolute worst out of 8 semesters. It is possible to pass, but it was an insane amount of homework. He slams down Redbulls and has a passive aggressive tone as if the students are an inconvenience. On the bright side Oakland classes can ONLY get better after taking this class.
I liked my calculus class better. Bobby makes pre calc harder than it has to be. Class is test heavy with MC and written biweekly, it felt like an AP test each time. just do the homework and work on some extra problems on your own and you'll be set. That is what the test are. Bobby always seems sad so try not to let his moods get to you!
saying this proffesor is the worst teacher anyone could ever have is an understatement. I have no idea how the school has let him be the chair of the math department. You will have an exam every week and he knocks points off for things as little as forgetting the period at the end of your story problem conclusion. i wouldnt wish him on my enemys.
Robert Connolly is the worst lecturer I have ever had. He just seems annoyed all the time, is rude to students, and does not seem like he wants to be there. I took Precalc in high school and aced it easy, and the first day his class made me cry. I dropped the class. If I can suggest, take Sharon Bailey. Split up Precalc into MTH 1331 and 1332.
I dropped Connolly's class because I couldn't learn from someone that spent the first 10 minutes telling us if we were not already masters of the material, to drop from Precalc and go back to Algebra. He speeds through lectures and his army of TAs are a joke. He's not here to teach or help you, he's here to breeze over concepts and collect a check.
His lectures are filled with information that you "should already know," according to him. After wasting an hour of your time, You MUST attend a workshop that grades you on whether you know the material he did not cover. Don't get me started on the homework he assigns. If you are not Robert Connolly himself, you don't have a chance in this class.
This man is the worst professor to take during your first semester of college. The workshop instructors follow suit. All the learning has to be done by the student since the lectures barley cover 1/4 of the material. There are teachers in high school that can teach better than this guy, avoid this class if possible!!
The written questions are said to "combine different subjects we already know" but in doing that to try to fit every subject into the test he just makes it incredibly confusing no matter how much you studied. It doesn't help that those written questions are worth just as much as the multiple choice section, despite that its 4 written to 20 multiple
Outdated professor with outdated expectations. Doesn't do a good job of actually teaching material and is inaccessible if you have questions or concerns. Thinks that students are magical and control all unexplainable things that happen to them like Blackouts or family deaths. Definitely the most inconsiderate and obtuse professor I've ever had.
After having him for 4 semesters it feels like he truly doesn't care about the student or want them to do well. He flies through lectures doing the easiest questions and then when he rarely does a hard one he skips steps and doesn't always explain what he's doing. His test questions are nothing like questions that you do in class so good luck!
He does NOT give nearly enough time on the exams. Also he speeds through the lectures with not a lot of explanation unless you ask. I am a straight A student, have taken pre calc before, and I am good at math and still struggled with this professor.
Straight to the point as a professor, easy to access and well at explaining. Wished that only 4 written questions weren't equal to 20 multiple choice questions though.
Took him a couple years ago, how is he still here with the rep he's built? Incredibly condescending, doesn't want to meet with students, unprofessional. Knew the material pretty well going in but he makes things impossible. Actually bragged about drop/failure rates of his class... it's intro to precalc bro. So much I could say, overall just don't.
This class was unnecessarily complicated. Lectures often wouldn't start until 15-20 minutes in and would be rushed. There were always things we didn't learn in the lecture but would be expected to know how to do and be graded on it. I'm pretty sure they're the only precalc professor though. So, don't be too hard on yourself if you're struggling.
Professor Connolly is a decent teacher to say the least. He teaches his students what is expected, but regularly misses important pieces of information that need to be taught. He fails to teach those specific points, which can take big toll on ones understanding on an exam. If you take this class, I recommend watching Brian McLogan on YouTube.
The absolute worst professor at Oakland. The fact that this guy still has a job is beyond me. Even with covid, he gave no extensions on homework or tests even with a doctors note. His notes are sloppy and illegible. The only reason I passed was because I had a good workshop teacher. Do not take him you will regret it.
Dr. Connolly should not be considered a doctor much less a preschool teacher. He loves making himself feel important by going over "admin stuff" which is just him rambling and repeating himself for 20 minutes. When he finally gets into the lecture he kind of just does the problems and expects you to know how to do them. Very condescending and bad.
Narcissistic guy, who rambles aimlessly. Also has an attitude issue. Avoid at all costs. I never leave reviews for professors but this man boils my blood.
This professor is one of the worst professor's I have had, I have always done well in math classes before I came to him. He rushes through problems in his lecture barely covering what the homework and workshop is about. If you take this class you're going to need to teach yourself everything to get a decent grade.
Worse teacher ever! He does not connect with his students, he talks for hours about his new technology he tried out, we never finish the lecture notes, it is a really fast paste course, he does not have officer hours, he gets smart and defensive with students who ask questions, and I don't feel comfortable going to him for help. WORSE PROFESSOR!!!!
I would not recommend this professor. We never finish the lecture notes and he talks about nothing 15 minutes into class starting. He says we are adults but he treats us like kids when it comes to grading and our attendance. He also does not post the lectures because he says he can't due to OU, but every other one of my teachers post the lectures.
Will spend most of class patting himself on the back over his Study Log that no one uses. Is rude to students and seems bothered when students ask him questions even though it's a part of his job. During the Fall 80% of the students failed, so unless you're confident you can be in the minority 20% that has a chance, do not take this professor.
Terrible Professor. So condescending and expects so much. Do not take him he literally made me want to switch my major because I thought I was bad at math but I just took Calc 1 and passed with a B and I failed precalc because of him
I have taken 4 semesters so far at OU and Professor Connolly is the absolute WORST professor so far. Do NOT take a class with him you will regret it. He spends 10-15 minutes saying useless 'housekeeping' stuff at the beginning of the class. The only good thing about him is his HW program. Doesn't really show too much respect to the students.
