VERY BAD!!!! Impossible to pay attention. I gave it my best effor but still I ended up staring out the window. Tests are very hard, but he has an easy grading system. Get B's on the first two test and pass the final and you come out with a C.

Has no complete train of thought. Often looses himself during lectures. Doesn't keep track of material covered in previous lectures. Can't read off a meter stick for his life. He is by far the worst teacher I have ever had in my 19 years on this planet. Please do yourself a favor and rop this class.

Ok, by far the WORST math teacher I've ever had! Get out of this class! He is always unprepared, and looses his train of thought mid sencence. I've learned most of the material he tries to teach before taking this class, but his methods are so retarted that I have no clue what he is ever talking about. Forgets how long class is supposed to be.

Avoid at all costs. The fact that this man teaches at Wentworth makes me think twice about the school as a whole. Yes, he is that bad.

I had this guy twice.. i got a d the first time and shouldve known to never take his class again, cuz i failed the second class! He doesnt teach, he just gives new information constantly and never checks if anyone understands.

worst teacher i've ever had. takes 3 classes to explain 1 problem & he takes weeks to get test grades back to u. his test material is 10x as hard as the hw problems he gives & problems he does in class. he is always late to class & unprepared & always stares at the ceiling while lecturing. def bring something to occupy urself or u will fall asleep.

This guy was aweful, notice i said was, he got replaced halfway thru this semester cuz hes just plain aweful, our class was so far behind, no one seemed to be doing well on the tests but he refused to go over them, he said to go to his office hours which i did but he didnt even show up, i dont know if hes done at WIT but i hope so

I agree with the last response. I'm in the class this very minute and he's horrible. he doesn't teach anything useful. he did the entire first page on the lab and then hands it back to us with a D-. How is that possible, you are dumb

This guy is the worst teacher ever! He doesn't come to class prepared, which is usually 15-19 min late. He came to our test 30 min late and gave us all D's and F's. All the hw is on MyMathLab because he doesn't know how to teach it. Won't explain how to do anything for you. I have A's in all my other classes and would never recommend this teacher!

The absolute worst teacher I have ever had. He is completely incompetent of teaching anything. He's clueless as to how to solve a simple physics problem yet makes his tests really hard... and takes off points for no particular reason. When asked why and has no excuse blames it on your handwriting? If you have him drop his class immediately.

WORST TEACHER EVER! He tried to use Calculus theorems to explain simple exponents to a College Math 1 class. Good thing I already knew the material, everyone in my class failed. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

One of the worst teachers i have ever had. Where to begin. showed up every single day 20 minutes late, every day. Taught us how to do the homework the day after we already finished it online. I learned more from clicking the "help me solve this problem" on MyMathLab than i did from him. Knows math but doesn't have a clue as to how to teach. Terribl

Avoid this teacher!! Worst teacher ever existed on earth. Does not teach, but rather teaches to himself on the board. When asked for help recommends you to go to CTL and get help. Even he knows how bad of teacher he is...

Worst teacher Ive ever had, doesnt explain material that pertains to homework or tests. Might as well take a class online that teaches you. Avoid this teacher unless you like teaching yourself everything.

It's awful that what you'd think to be such an easy class ends up being the most difficult. Took this class and struggled every day. He deducts points for reasons like not doing the work he expected even if you got the right answer and gives little to no partial credit. Avoid him!!! I wish I did!!!!!

If you like quizzes every day and failing math you should take this course. If you do end up with him i suggest you drop immediately. Takes 50 minutes to go over one problem and goes on pointless rants

The worst math teacher I had in High School is better than this guy. Aparently he has never heard of Microsoft PowerPoint because it takes him the entire 50 minute class to explain just a few problems. His handwriting is illegible and curves down as he writes Daily 2 point quizzes make up the quiz grade which can make or break you. only got 3 tests

Checks attendance with a two point quiz every day, no make ups. Final exam had material that was not gone over in class because too much time is spent on going over daily quizzes. Handwriting is near illegible. Homework takes forever. Do not take!

If you don't do it his way, you're wrong, whether you show work or not. Quiz at the beginning of EVERY class - regardless of if he's covered the material. Not only the worst professor I have ever had in any subject, but not a nice person. If he was crossing the road in front of me, I wouldn't waste the break fluid in my car, he's just that bad.

If you want a professor who can actually teach, grades fairly, and doesn't expect you to do your work the way he likes it (even though he doesn't teach it the way he wants it), DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASSES. NONE OF THEM

DO NOT TAKE THIS DUDE. He WILL screw you over. When we were taking a final, someone had a question and it took HIM 30 minutes to figure. If it took him 30 minutes, how are we supposed to figure it out in the 10 minutes left in the exam? Seriously though this guy has no knowledge of anything whatsoever, and its ridiculous. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I took Differential Equations with him and it was absolutely terrible. He always makes mistakes on the board. Whenever someone tries to point out his mistake, he sometimes gets upset about it. He almost never talks straight to the students. Please, if you have a choice in professors, DO NOT take him. I tried in his class and I barely passed.

Had heard this would not be a good class to take, then watched as the majority of classmates either transferred out early or withdrew when they couldn't escape without a failing grade. What i read was all true, but his section was the only one to match my schedule. Heed the warnings. Avoid his classes at all cost.

The only reason this man is still here is because he has tenure. He is the absolute most useless professor I've ever had. He doesn't tell you specific things you need to do for quizzes (ex: using significant figures on initial condition questions) and he takes points off because to him it's supposed to be "common sense". AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The man is literally deaf and faces the board all class, so your questions will never be answered. If you haven't taken AP calculus or you can't grasp concepts quickly. Heed this warning and do to take this class, or it will plummet your GPA.

Awful. I only got a decent grade bc I'd taken calc in HS, i just needed this class for credit. Would've gotten an A if he actually graded things by correctness instead of if I followed his specific method exactly. Lectures didn't cover stuff on the tests/quizzes. He's rude (called ppl stupid) and deaf. Spare yourself; don't take any of his classes.

An irredeemably poor educator. I thought the other comments on here were exaggerating. They were not. 75% of course based on absurdly difficult exams, and he's a REAL harsh grader. Almost no partial credit. Rude to students, and an excruciatingly boring lecturer. Can't teach difficult material well. Lots of webworks. Avoid at all costs.

The negative comments on this professor are true. I also talked to a Wentworth alumni who studied mechE 20 years ago and he also mentioned that the worst professor he had was Cournoyer.

He's an unfair grader who makes up rules after the fact in order to doc points. You get about 3 quizzes a week, exams, and homework, and it's extremely difficult to remember what's due when seeing as he never posts them anywhere. He's rude and condescending. Over half of our class dropped the course because he grades so harshly it's hard to pass.
