Very helpful, open book & notes for test, drops lowest test grade.
Good teacher. Teaches thorough. lets you use notes & book for test. Not worried aboutfailing you but learning how to apply the concepts.
Great teacher!!!
gives out older tests with answer sheets before actual tests, can always go for help, it can be boring but if you practice off practice tests helps a lot
Great Guy!! He does go a little fast but he teaches very well. He is always willing to help and explain something if you don't understand. Just wants you to learn. Always aval. for help.
Teacher is the worst. You wont learn anything. But the class has open note and book test so you cant lose.
soooo easy, open note and open book tests.... gives you prior exams from semster before for you to look at and use on the exam. granted the class is boring and repetitive but it's so easy. a no- brainer not to take his for either stat class!!!
he is not good!!! do NOT take him!!!
Professor Crouse is simply easy. His teaching methods are a little unclear as he wanders off and is not consistent in some ways. Crouse also skips around from different material as he teached which leads to a little confusion. Do the optional homework and study a little and you will do fine.
Real EAsy. Easiest class at ccsu. open notebook and book tests
Really boring, but easy class. Open book & notes, study a little and you'll do fine. Does a lot of work on the board.
Cass is basicaly boring as hell, not intresting at allHe writes notes on the blackboard, and give out pre-tests!Nohomeworks!Test are at begining easy but then suddenly hard, and without doing exercises-practicing,reading and studing you will get a poor gradeIt's not required thus it's even worse
Bad teacher, does not interact with class, just writes up on board all class, also very boring. Unless you know material before taking this class, watch out.
Dont take him, all he does at talk and reads from PP slides...you wont learn a thing.
eassy class but boring..all he do write on board he give out pre-test which is similar to the test open note open book n he drop the lowest test
Horrible teacher. Is very affraid of people and only looks at the board. Emailed him 4 times and he never got back to me. Never in his office during office hours. Overall i would not recommend taking this class with him.
Easy class, really boring. Don't have to go to class, or do homework to pass. Actually I would even suggest not going to class, it's that boring. He is unclear and all over the place, but you will learn from the practice tests. I found Stats II easier that Stats I. Don't have to study, just bring the practice tests with you. Same exact format
he was too boring, i had to drop the class.

very easy...hands out a practice test that's the same as the real test except diff #'s...all test open book and he drops the lowest grade...at least he did that back in like 02

I had to suffer and have him for both classes. He needs to get a clue seriously. He is so easy to pass gives practice exam a week ahead of time but like one thing will be on the next one he curves say u get 3 out of 12 right you will get a C. If you actually want to learn stuff don't take him, if you want to pass take him he won't fail you
Not that great of a teacher. Teaches to the board, not the class, he doesn't learn names and doesn't care. He makes a lot of mistakes while teaching. and he is not that helpful if you go during office hours(which are very limited)
Not a good teacher. Drops lowest test. Only 3 tests. All open book.
Nice guy. Moves fast, though. There are a lot of notes. He's moderately easy because, though he gives a lot of advantages (such as curving, dropping lowest), he is not an easy Exam grader. However, this might be because it was a more advanced class.
He is not the best people person, but if you sit there and pay attention you can learn a lot. People who do like to pay attention will not do well, if you do pay attention you will learn alot!
RECALL: that is what you will hear at the start if every class, the worst part is he writes recall on the board. You learn the same thing everyday making the course unbearable. I mean the guy has zero personality and will get totally flustered if you ask a question. Deep, deep, deep, deep down I think he might be funny... not sure though...
Bob Crouse is a nice guy. Hes kind of strange but has good intentions. His class was simple to pass. His grading is way off But its in complete favor of the student. If you really want to learn the subject you could learn alot.If you just want a good grade hes good for that. He gives you a practice exam with answers that you can use on the tests
boring, lots of notes, and hard tests... dont take this class
I am rating you instead of studying for your test, If you read this I'd like an A.
Awsome professor. I did not like math until I took his class. Although boring, makes subject matter easy to understand. I took both STATS 200-201 with him!!!!
Its a very dull class. He goes over each concept about 10 times, which is helpful to understand but makes it very boring. 4 tests, drops the lowest grade. Uses the textbook a lot. But a very easy class in general.
good teacher even though he is boring he means well, goes over the material several times which is helpful.
Super easy! Had him for stats 200&201. Good guy but boring classes, but it's stats, what do you expect. No hw in 200. He collects 201 hw at the final. Gives practice tests that you can use for the tests(ohya, open notes&bk tests!) Just review right before test & you'll pass with an A!
this class is easy gives out practice exam that is identical to the actual exam, which you can also use during the exam along with any notes you may have taken. The class is boring attendence is not mandatory but dont skip too many classes or you will find yourself behind and wont do so well on the exams even with the practice exam. very nice guy.
The best STAT teacher ever. He teaches really well and perfectly. Gives out practice exams which is identical to the in class exams.
Sitting in his class now writing this.. hes so boring I dont ever want to show up to class.. If you pay attention you will Ace every exam because he gives out a practice test with answers before the exam (you can use notes and book on exam). If you want an easy class take him but for the most part hes SOOOOOO BORING AND NOT HELPFUL. I didnt learn.
He knows what he's saying but not very clear. However, all test are open note so that does help
Every class begans with recall this.Everything he does is at the top of his head. He makes mistakes and makes it diffuclt to follow at times. Very boring class. You get to use the book during tests but at times it does not help at all. Take a lot of notes and good luck because your going to need it.
overall rob crouse is an okay teacher. He has no personality and is very repetitve which helps if the subject is not for you. Gives out practice tests before every test with answers which makes the tests so much easier. As long as you do your work you should pass.
Ladies and gentlemen: PREPARE TO BE BORED!!!! He might have a few screws loose as he is late to class every day, i dont think he even knows when the class starts! Really easy though, and good for students not interested in stats.
Dry, but easy. Open notes, open book, grades on curve
SO EASY. Who cares if he's little dull.. open book/open note exams AND a previous exam as a study guide. Take this class if you're bad at math and want to do well!
Always uses "Hogs from Iowa" as his examples while teaching. Yeah.. and he tends to block the board no matter where you sit. He does go over the material many, many times though. Even gives out practice exams before the test which are mostly similar to the exam. However, the exams always have something not related to the practice test so be careful
Probably the most boring class ever. He hands out practice exams from the semester before which are similar to the exam you will have to take. BEWARE. he gives excel problems and if you don't know how to do them you will FAIL the class. he drops the lowest quiz grade. No midterm only three tests&final. SHOW UP or you will be lost
Class is kind of boring but he gives out practice exams to study for actual exams which are very similar. only 3 exams and a final and all exams are open book/open note. Also drops lowest test grade.
Very dull professor. It's not a fun class to go to, but the tests are very easy. He gives you a review sheet with answers that is literally the same as the tests with different numbers in the problems. Take him if you want to get an easy A, but don't if you're attempting to major in anything related to Statistics.
Easy class. It's all simple formulas and you're allowed notes and textbook for all tests and the final. Crouse is useless in terms of help, however. If you go to him, you sense he couldn't care less about your success in class. Overall, an easy class if you don't mind an ignorant relic of 20th century academia.
EASY CLASS IF... You come to class and take notes. And if you look over the practice exams that he gives your before every exam. Had a cumulative exam after 3 others,(he drops he lowest grade of the 3). Also had to do a couple problems using excel which aren't hard but are required to pass the class!!
He's goes through the entire course in a structured, monotone, boring way , but the good thing is that there are no surprises. The exams are open book, open notes and the study guides are former exams that cover exactly what you should expect.
I do not recommend him as a professor. Although it's all open book, he doesn't teach he simply goes through definitions in his monotone voice. No homework grades, no quiz grades I gained nothing from this class
Very very dry professor, but you can use notes on exams so take good notes. He also gives practice exams that are pretty similar to your exams. No excuse to fail. He never turns from the board so if you have questions just ask to clarify... it will help you. An easy A if you want to take the notes.
Very nice guy but hes too smart to clarify sometimes. Your grade is based only on 4 exams so don't screw up. Go to class, take notes and do the practice exams he gives you. You can use notes, books, whatever on exam however tests are still tough. I would consider taking him again due to low quantity of work. Easy class if you take tests well.
Your grade is made up of 4 exams, no partial credit given, but you can use notes. If you go to class take notes and do practice exams he gives you, you will do fine. If you aren't a good test taker, since no partial credit if given, it will be tough to get an A but you will easily pass. No assignments other than exams! Very nice teacher!
Professor Crouse is the sweetest and he loves his work. He is very shy but will clarify anything if you ask. Don't try to be a smart ass because he is smarter than you. 4 tests, open everything. If you have any complaints about this class, you have issues. Just do the 2 or so hw problems he recommends and the practice tests and you're golden.
Easy class. Make sure you take notes because some of the equations he gives in class aren't exactly the same as the book but you must use his equations on tests. Also, sometimes there are no correct answers to multiple choice so just pick the number closest to the one you got and use that to solve the rest of the problems. Minimal homework.
Open notes and open book for all tests & curves the tests, but don't let that fool you. If you ask him a question, he gets overwhelmed and 910 times wont answer your question. Refuses to go back and fix exams if he made a mistake with the grade. Does not turn away from the board. Nice guy, but shouldn't be teaching college statistics classes.
No homework. All exams and final are open notes. Study the practice exams and take good note, and you will pass. Drops the lowest exam, but he is a tough grader. If you get the wrong answer, but did the work correctly, it's still wrong. There are no partial credit so double check your work. Other than that, he is an easy and good professor.
Very very boring guy, only thing good about this class is that it's all open note so you kinda just have to teach yourself everything before or during the exam
He is so unclear and just stares at the board the whole class. He doesn't explain anything and half the time students are correcting his work. He does do open notebook tests but if you don't understand what you're doing or what you're notes say it's no help. Also HE DOES NOT GIVE ANY MAKEUP EXAMS.
Highly recommend him for ppl who want to just pass without actually learning the material (which is most college students). This class is EASY to pass with an A because every test is open notes AND open book. He also gives study guides with answers that are exactly like the test just with different numbers. EASY A!
His lectures are so boring, people literally fall asleep in his class. If you really want to learn do not take his class... If you are not a good exam taker, definitely do not take the class. No graded assignments given... You will be required to do some problems in excel that are not graded but if you don't do it you will get an incomplete.
please ignore all the comments below, this STAT teacher is the best teacher on the campus. Great Help, Open Notes for all test and makes learning easy, yes a little dull but hes definitely the teacher you want to take if you want to pass this class
The class consists of 4 tests including the final. If you go to class and copy down all of the notes he takes YOU WILL PASS. THE TESTS ARE OPEN BOOK, OPEN NOTE. Oh my gosh, I don't get how people don't like this class, it's way too easy.
Very dry and reserved. Lectures almost the whole time, little chance for student questions/interaction. Material can be hard, but open note/book tests are super easy, just take notes on everything he says in class and study the handouts. Grade based on 2-3 tests and cumulative final, also some mandatory ungraded Excel assignments.
I took this class previously with another professor I had to withdraw b/c i was failing. Then next semester I took STAT 201 with Crouse and I got an A. I think he's one of the best STAT professors on campus, along with S. Lasik. Stay away from Darius D. This guy gives many guided examples to practice in class. It would be hard to fail this class.
I took him because I thought it would be an easy A and I would learn a thing or too. But damn was he just so quiet in class and doesn't even know how to help his students out. No extra credit or extra help, if there is any all he does is make it basic as heck and confuses you more. If you're good in stats then take him. Otherwise don't bother.
Welcome to stat 201, after this you are most likely done with your college stat career. No partial credit and exams are multiple choice open book. One exam grade gets dropped. final exam worth 40% of grade. Does weird curves on exams but I am not complaining since that curved me to the A category.
Professor Crouse is a very dry lecturer. He gives good notes but hes very quiet and boring. The entire grade in this class is based on 3 midterms (20% ea) and a final (40%). All exams are open note and straightforward so its easy to pass. Take him if you just want to pass and don't care about learning the material.
3 tests and a final .. all open note. He also gives a practice test before each exam that is almost identical to the test. He is very quiet but he goes over everything 2 or 3 times before moving on. He also seems to curve every test. Just go to class, pay attention, do all the homework assignments and you'll do fine.
A few tests and a final are what you grade consists of. Basically all of class was copying what he wrote on the board. Very little engagement with the class, and very boring. He gives a study guide for each test, and it's highly recommended that you do it, as it's similar to the test.
Will bore the living daylights out of you, but SO EASY to pass with flying colors. Does guided examples on the board. Exams are open-book/note, and he gives practice exams that are similar to real exam. A few mandatory ungraded Excel assignments that are easy. Go to class, study, do the recommended problems and practice exams, and you're golden!
This class could not be any more boring, especially for an 8am. Granted Bob Crouse is very kind, his lectures are extremely dull. There are 3 exams, all open book, open note with practice exams given that are nearly identical to your exam. He also drops the lowest exam grade. You just need to understand how to do the problems to pass this class.
Not a good professor, does not respond to student emails, he does not seem to care about student's success, also he did not give course evaluations too!
There is not much to it. It is statistics and it is very boring. On the up side, there is no homework due, maybe one assignment for the whole semester. 2-3 tests that are all open note. Just study and make sure you show up to class and write down everything he does. He gives a practice test that is almost identical the real test.
Exams are open notes and book. There is an excel assigment which is done the end of the semester and it does not count toward the final grade.
The class was so difficult online. Dr. Crouse is very kind but the lectures were hard to pay attention to and extremely boring. He does drop the lowest test grade, but tests are the only thing that determines your grade(no hw), so you have to do well on the other 3. If you genuinely want to learn the info, I would not recommend taking it online.
This professor would not respond to emails and this was a fully online class so that was the only way to contact him. His lectures wouldn't help because he would just read over what he had written and anyone can read it but there was no help understanding. He takes his mistakes out on you and fails you for something he messed up.
Very caring professor but very boring. He does not check for student understanding and office hours are likely to make you even more confused. You'll pass the class but hate attending it purely because he never interacts with his students.
Professor Crouse is a good teacher. His lectures are thorough. They are a bit repetitive, but you'll understand the material. He puts out sample exams with the answers before each test, so study those and the real exams become easier. Your grade is based solely on the 4 exams. Overall, Professor Crouse is a great professor and I would recommend him
I asked him to come in for office hours twice and both times he told me just to look online for everything posted. I got an awful grade in the class. He didn't know how to answer questions and basically if you are not great at math and learn after having something explained only one time you will have a rough time in his class.
Nice man but does not really explain some of the content, does not assign hw , grade only depends on 3 exams (lowest is dropped) which kinda sucks.
Prof. Crouse creates the most disengaging class with him repeating material posted on blackboard and won't explain anything during office hours. Some positives are using notes on the exam and exams similar to practice ones handed out, there is no hw, and you have one Excel assignment that takes ten minutes to complete.
He doesn't assign homework, only an Excel assignment due at the semester's end. He won't give half points if you don't get the correct answer on the exams. He's an okay professor but is more reserved and will answer questions. I recommend you read the material he posts on the Blackboard to pass since he covers it word by word.
Dr. Crouse is literally scared to teach and speak to his students. All 3 exams open note yet very difficult. Does not give any partial credit on those exams. Everyone does so bad that he ends up curving the exams up 30-40 points. If you want to learn something and not teach yourself take someone else. Not the worst class though.
Lectures straight from notes on blackboard. Not engaging, but not the worst. Gives previous tests to study from, tells you what is on the test. Only three tests, one Excel assignment, and final exam are graded. Throws away worst test grade. Just review material on your own time and study the previous test samples and you will pass easy.
