For DaPrato, I had to study soooo much. His tests are multiple choice, but they can be such detailed questions. He goes at a fast pace and 95% of his lecture is from the book, so you don't have to be at full attention during class.
Mr. Daprato is an excellent teacher. Very straight forward. If you're in a group discussion with him, he's like a therapist only in a teacher role. You practically have to be a slacker to fail his intuitive classes. Common sense and participation recomm'd

Best teacher at Solano. Hands down.

Good teacher, very friendly and very into group discussions. Tests are hard. He's very easy to talk to.
Not everyone did well in this class.I did not always attend but did fine.To do good, always read the chapters right before the test, go to the books site online & studyed the flash cards (its fast & easy). He's nice and keeps the class lively with his quarky personality.Be careful about being late
GREAT teacher. He makes lectures interesting and fun. Really comes across like he enjoys teaching. Take any one of his classes. The test are straight forward and his study guide help alot. Best prof. at Solano.

On the contrary, this moron should resign. He shows up for the paycheck. Relies on PowerPoint to teach class. Lectures are lame, he has very little knowledge of the subject. He's more interested in proving the complexity (it isn't!) than assisting you through it (he won't). Read/study = A in class.
Mr. D is hella funny
His class is usually really boring; instead of any class discussion everyone sits and watches him do a PowerPoint presentation off the CD that comes with the book. So really, class is rendered a complete waste of time because you won't go over anything that's not in the book.
He doesn't give homework, and if you read the book, the tests are a walk in the park. I thought the lectures were very interesting, and I thought he was a good teacher. But you do have to read the book, the people who didn't did poorly on the tests.
Daprato's class is interesting. all you do is take notes. and then takes tests. there is no homework which sometimes lets you get behind. study your notes very well. he gives extra credit a lot just for being there. so GO TO CLASS
Acts hyperactive. Strange humor. Pleasant enough but not hard at all. Got an "A" without much effort or attendance. No one likes the horrible power point stuff, it's a lazy way to teach. Take him if you don't want to work too hard.

He was so funny and had lots of usefull information. I learned so much!
the only class where watching**** is ok. gotta love it! if you do the work youll be fine.
The class itself is very interesting. However, DaPrato's style is very boring, especially for somebody who doesn't like lecture, since that is ALL he does during class. Although, he gives absolutely no homework, which makes this a very easy class. Just show up, take good notes, ace the 4 tests and there's your grade.
Course work stays in the class. Test are multiple choice with 5 essay questions. Straight froward.
I think this class is pretty easy. All he does is lecture by using power point which is from the book. You don't need to go to class to get an A. Just READ the book thoroughly and u'll be fine. The test is challenging but his A is 85% and up. If you're the type of person who likes to read the book, then this class is for you
Great teacher. funny and keeps the class interesting. he's a big reason why im a psych major. tests MC/short answer essay; based on power point exactly like book. highlighted book as he lectured from porjector; so no note taking with book. although you dont need book if takes notes from power point. No HW or papers. highly recommened his class.
Lectured right out of the text. Material is packaged and presented smoothly, tests can be difficult if you don't study hard. Just be there and pay attn.
awesome very funny altough he is a pretty hard teacher but his class was alot of fun, take human sexuality with him, he taught that class very well and made it fun and not embarassing.
TEACHES PRETTY MUCH STRAIGHT FROM THE BOOK , HE CAN BE A LITTLE GRANDIOSE AT TIMES BUT OVERALL NOT A BAD CLASS
God save us all from this blithering jackass. If it wasn't for prepackaged materials, there is no way he would be able to instruct at all. He has with some consistency given information I know to be incorrect and cannot for the life of him answer a straight question. He didn't know what "PSYCHOSOMATIC" meant!
He is fair but this class is hard!!! He teaches out of the book. There are 4 tests and one 7-10 page written extra credit project. Tests are 60 multiple choice questions worth 2 points each and 2 essay questions worth 10 points each. Study hard, do ALL the reading and go to class everyday. By the end of the semester only 1/3 of the class remained.
You either love him or you hate him. I would be the latter. He seemed to B.S. a lot of answers as if he didn't know them. He made some **** comments a couple times. And boy did he make sexual psych uncomfortable for everyone. (no joke) But it is easy to get an A or B if you can stand sitting while he B.S's like he knows psychology.
hes a good teacher i recommend him......

Awful. He didn't know anything about the subject, you learn more about sex from Cosmo. He consistently mispronounced words and made **** comments. He contradicted the book in his lectures, so tests were confusing. Worst ever.
Take every note and read every word in the book! It will be on the test, so study hard. The extra credit assignment is highly recommended. At the end of the semester, more than half of the class dropped.
This is honestly one of my worst professors. He teaches verbatum from the power point and makes the tests pretty hard. Even if you come to class you have no guarantee of a good grade. He doesn't seem to know much about what he's talking about and thinks hes funny. I would not recommend him.
subpar. He seems to be behind in his knowledge of psychology. When asked about antidepressants, he knew only about the kinds used in the 70's.
No wonder half the class drops be the end of the semester. I would have dropped sooner then I did, but he held off giving our second test back till after the drop date. I am nearly a straight A student and I was getting an F. The end papaer has to be done perfect or you get no credit for the effort. He is the worst professor I'm known. Send enemies
he was an awful teacher. went to class everyday, took notes and studied still couldnt pass the tests with more than a c because the material covered in class is different than on the tests. he thinks hes funny and hes not, and then he doesnt seem to grade very fairly because other students did the same, without the extra credit & got better grades.
He is to busy feeling he needs to make more money thus taking classes himself. On top of that he feels the books provided by the PHd's are inferior leading him to write his own book for this course. His tests do not come from what he teaches or from the book. He even told us oh well the test was from a few years ago and another class.
Lectures can be interesting at times, but the book is a hard read and he is not up to date in his knowledge of psychology. He thinks he's funny, but he's not. He's okay, if you go to class, read the book, and do the final project you will get an A.
HE IS ONE OF THE BEST pSYCHOLOGY TEACHERS THERE. MATERIAL WAS VERY INTERESTING AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND
When he says read the book DO IT... The powerpoint presentations are interesting and somewhat useful. But THE BOOK is what the tests are based off of! Seriously. Class discussions were entertaining as well but not as helpful for tests.
Nice guy. Face-to-face class you really have to read the book because he bases his tests on it. His first time teaching this course online, and it is HORRIBLE. Almost half the class dropped. The course has been consistently INCONSISTENT! He changes due dates and requirements on assignments often. Grades are incorrect. Assignments come up missing.
Horrible! Gosh this guy is beyond words. He is a real ass and very stuck up. His reading material is hard and his tests: even harde. He does have a HUGE extra credit research paper at the end of the semester that can raise your grade a whole letter. On that note... Dont take him...
Great teacher! I really enjoyed this class however, it was far from easy. Reading the book is mandatory if you want to pass and knowing the vocab is a must. Each test has essay questions which you get ahead of time to prepare. It takes a lot of work but very worth it if you're a psych major. If not you may want to take a different teacher.
I really liked his class. I think that students don't like him because they aren't ready for the class. The reading isn't hard, if you want to know what's going on, you should read. As long as you take good notes during class, you'll pass. Honestly, all you have to do is be a "good" student. Read. Take notes. Participate. I highly recommend him.
Really enjoyed his class, it was hard but as long as you study for the tests and read the text you will do fine.
All he does is lecture. Everything is based on the book and he tells you to read the modules (chapters) the night before he goes over them, which I think is more helpful. His tests are pretty hard and I always hear students complaining but you really just need to pay attention. HE'S AN EXCELLENT PROFESSOR. really knows his subject. he is tough tho.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!Daprato is a HORRIBLE teacher!!! He should have made the class an online course because he has you show up for class to take useless lecture notes, if I wanted to read the book I would have taken an online class. None of his lecture notes are in the test, you must read the book to pass. & he makes obscene comments to girls!
He sucked! Useless powerpoints. None of his lectures and powerpoints are on the test. You have to read the book very carefully to pass the tests. Psych is my major and he almost ruined it for me. I DO NOT reccomend him. Horrible teacher. HORRIBLE.
First off, what everyone says about "his powerpoints are useless" are right. I had him a while ago, and everything comes straight from the book. And sometimes, the tests comes from the website quizzes (I don't remember the site). If you want to pass, just play a good student, like someone said. I passsed one test and ended with a B in the end. POO!
WOW possibliy the worst idea I could ever have to take this mans class...I have never wanted to burn the PowerPoint program more in my life!!! If your an interactive learner this is not the class for you...but if you benefit from PowerPoints word for word from hte book GO FOR IT!!! (and good luck)
I loved this class. The very first class, we went around the room coming up with ways to say male and female sexual organs and coitus. I looked forward to going to this class every week. Only problem is he isn't clear about the final paper. I didn't know it was mandatory for getting an A and he messed up my grade but fixed it. Take it!
I do not recommend taking Daprato because he taught through a powerpoint that did not help on the test. Going on the website was way more helpful. Try to avoid if you can!
My favorite professor at Solano. He has an odd sense of humor that I loved.
I hadn't been in college in a long time. I prety much did what he said to do; took notes, I showed up for class (many notes not in textbook), used the online questions and tried not to cram. I answered the essays completely and I did well on the tests. I don't have a lot of college experience to compare him to, but I liked the info and the class.
He's a really good teacher and for the most part the class is easy. There are alot of terms to remember, so the key for me was to make flash cards and I did great!! As long as you know that defintions and understand them you'll do great.
he should go over test after passing them back so we learn something.
Daprato was a pretty cool teacher. Tests came from all material reviewed as long as you read and do online quizzes as suggested you can do well in this class. He has a funny sense of humor though. Good class overall.
OK, So Daprato is a great teacher. Easy to listen to and funny. The only complaint I have is that his notes from the powerpoints aren't right on for what you need for the test. Also there isn't other ways to get points besides the tests/exams, which I find ridiculous. It's a fun class all in all. Just read your text book regularly.
Daprato is very by the book--literally, everything is straight from the text. The class consists of a very dry power points everyday. There's no homework, no quizzes, and no exra credit (except the 7-10pg term paper). I didn't like him at first but he definitely grew on me. Make flashcards, read the book, pay attention in class and you will pass!
I heard he was a great teacher so I took him and found out quite the opposite. He wouldn't cover the material adequately, if at all, and we would still be tested on it, and wouldn't go over it after. You don't do anything in class, but you have to do a lot of outside studying if you want a good grade. Know how to use each term in situations.
Hes a nice guy, really. But I'd only recommend if you like teachers that have the same routine every day. He only uses powerpoints. His tests will only seem hard if you don't take notes and you don't read the book.
I LIKE HIM, AT FIRST HE SEEMED A LITTLE HARSH AND I OVER HERD ANOTHER STUDENT SAYING THEY THOUGHT HIS HUMOR WAS A BIT TO RAUNCHY.. BUT HE MAKES LEARNING FUN AND INTERESTING. HES VERY FLEXIBLE AND EASY TO TALK TO.
He is amazing and very understanding when things in your life happen. Flexible and interesting in class. I recommend him to anyone. His test are simple if you just read the text. If you buy he study guide for the book you will pass with good grades on the test.
Funny teacher. the website for the book he uses is actually very helpful for tests. lots of power points but what he covers on the power points is basically in the book. nonetheless Daprato makes learning about psychology interesting. one of my favorite classes last semester :)
Ok... You HAVE to read the book or do ALL of the online reading and text to pass this class. The test are worth 140pts with two essay questions. He has a term paper that is optional, but mandatory if you want an A. He has online assignments that are worth points, but he never grades them. His class is fun, but I would not take him again.
Difficult person to communicate with. Rude to students. Conflict of information between "his word" and the book. Explicitly inconsiderate. Complicated and unnecessary grading scale. Inconsistent. Honestly, dude needs to retire. Teaching since 1976 y'all! Consider another teacher
He was great. Any Questions you have he will answer. you have to read focus to get it all but overall is great. He gives exactly what will be on the test and it is broken up so you know what to study and focus on. Over all I Love him!!! Take him, But be prepared to work not a slack off class. but in the End youll end up loving Psychology!!!
Wasn't the best professor I've had, wouldn't really recommend him. When doing the test you have multiple choice and two essays that are randomly chosen with dice.No homework,no practice tests, only the tests determine your grade. And must do a paper if you want an A.He won't help you(your paper)NO MATTER WHAT HE SAYS so you must figure out on your own.
DO NOT TAKE. Not clear in his expectations. Doesnt cover ANYTHING in class. He covers 1 keyword per chapter(if your even lucky) &expects you to read the entire book at home. You NEED to read to pass. This class was a waste of my life.I don't reccomend him. Very unorganized. He never has a plan. He literally just comes to class& wings it every day.
graded by exams. makes you buy 100 dollar online textbook which is only good for a semester. online textbook is the only good source of information because it gives a review of a module and vocab words. lectures are dry. like 6 people left towards the end of the semester. if you like online courses, you may like this class. i, for sure, dont.
Worst teacher. Doesn't teach anything in class, you must learn everything from the textbook in order to pass the tests, which is what your grade is based on. Unclear about assignment and due dates. Even when he assigns a test date/due date, he forgets what he said, so it changes every day. Do not take him.
Interesting class. As long as you show up, follow directions, and do the readings it is an easy A. Lots of extra credit available as well. He is helpful if you approach him with a specific question or problem, he will help find a solution.
He is very funny and his class was always fun and interesting. I would take it again if I could. Don't worry about the online homework its only extra credit and if you read the book the tests are a piece of cake.
HORRIBLE teacher! Everything is from the book, and lecture is very dry power point. As the class wore on and on and ON, more and more people dropped. Should have taken my cue from them and dropped the class. He was very dry and inconsistent. Horrible experience!
He makes you buy a book that is only good for a semester and then he makes you pay about 80 bucks for an online hwquiz thing that has his lectures. He teaches by skipping chapters then going back into the beginning which will confuse you. His lectures are boring and very long. His tests will be hard if you don't study or read the book.
Professor Daprato is a really down to earth teacher. He likes to tell stories and get people involved in his class. His test are a little hard but if you use the book and website you should be fine.
DO ALL/ MOST OF THE ONLINE HOMEWORK. At the end of the semester it is all counted as extra credit! Obviously he expects you to read the chapters, but they can be interesting topics. If you want an A you need to write a 7 page research essay (if I remember right). It's a piece of cake and I wrote it in about 2 days. Passed with an A.
I don't know why he has negative reviews because I thought he was really good. He was also into the lectures and was not boring at all. I thought he was hilarious whenever he would joke around. The only thing that I did not like was that I paid $100 for the book and an extra $80 on the online work (which there is an E-BOOK on there).
This guy doesn't know what he's doing. Iv'e taken tough classes, including upper level biochemistry, worked hard, and earned an A. He is very vague in his teaching. He doesn't articulate himself very well or adequately convey the concepts. I read, took notes, and got a "B" on my first test. I am incredulous about this. Prefer a teacher w/ PhD.
I took Introduction to Psychology and enjoyed his class. He is really engaging and interactive, which made the class fun. All you have to do is pay attention to lectures, take notes and and act like you're genuinely engaged in class discussions. You will do fine on the tests if you read your book.
