Very articulate and educated. He's not the most exciting lecturer, but gets the point across. I strongly recommend him.

Amazing professor. He knows more than probably any instructor I've ever had. A virtual genius when it comes to the presidency. The tests were straightforward. Plus, he wears a bowtie, had funny glasses, and gets really worked up lecturing.

he rocks! his amount of knowledge on this topic-on US politics in general-on world events--astonishing. tests are REALLY hard ****, but hey, this is an upper level class. and i love his anti-nixon stories!

Excellent teacher. Learned alot from him. Have to listen carefully and take lots of notes. Come to class and do some reading and you'll do fine.

He is the cutest professor on campus. Every girl must swoon over a man with a bow tie, big round glasses, and a pipe. Wonderfule lecturer, really inspires his students.

If you don't want to waste time in a class room take him!He is difficult but you can easily get an A or B if you study and attend class. Attending class isn't bad either ecsp. because the bow tie is hot and he really gets into the lecture! :)

very clear teacher, but since class is in eis 24 you should sit up front to get good notes, i sat in the back and did the crossword all class, but i still managed a C in the class... if you pay any more attention than i did, you'll do better than me

I think DiClerico is cute as a button! He the kind of sophistication every girl dreams of. Some of these guys on campus need to take notes on his attire and good manners. Extremely knowledgeable and interesting. I recommend this class.

So awesome. DiClerico is the greatest ever. he is clear and stresses exactly what you need to know. willing to talk to students and has the coolest accent. take him whenever possible.

If you can get past the diffiulty of the course, he and Hammock are actually very good teachers and will teach you a lot!

Boring class, hes a good professor tho but tests are really hard and its hard to know what exacly to study for. only 4 tests all semester and the final is just the unit 4 which is a plus, if you get a f on the first test and good on the rest you get what the other 3 are for your final grade

One word, my friends: "STUDLY." This guy made political science, a genuinely unintersting field to me, go over so much better. He tells it how it is, and his discussions with the class during lecture help to open you up to a "higher thinking." I have to say it again...STUDLY.

an alright teacher. i had fun in this corse. there is not that much reading involved which is a huge plus. he makes his lectures very interesting. has a good way to get the class involved in the lectures

This guy is one of the most amazing professors. He's the complete opposite of Hammock (who is as rotten as teachers come). He explains things in a way that any idiot could understand, but he does it in a way that doesn't make you feel like an idiot. Great guy...love the bow ties too, by the way.

This class is incredibly easy. I'm a non-major and I have put forth very little effort. If you're looking for an easy class and an easy 'A' take this class.

STUD!!! This man could be the President of the United States. Most knowledgable man I've ever heard speak. He doesn't teach you, he enlightens you. True college professor. If you are lucky enough to take this class, definitely take the opportunity.

One of the most awesome lecturers I've ever had! Take notes during lectures b/c only 7 questions on the test come from the texts. It wasn't unusual for me to walk away with 10-12 pages of notes from a lecture, but he goes very slowly & repeats the impt. aspects for his students. Oh, and check out his wicket NE accent!

Very nice man with real passion for the subject matter. Tests are nearly impossible to do well on even if you attend all classes and read the books. Even if you know the information tests are made to confuse you. Only class at WVU that I have ever gotten lower than a B in....and I'm getting a D

Want to take a cluster class that puts some hair on your chest? If so, Diclerico and Hammond are the men for you. All in all its a good class, put the work into it and you will learn a LOT. Easy C, Medium B, HARD A

His elections class and presidency class are awesome! Anyone at WVU should take them.

These tests are sort of tricky if you aren't willing to put effort into studying. Very passionate about the subject, and can keep you focused in lecture even if you dont enjoy it.

This class is almost impossible, I studied my butt off for it and i probably ended up with a High C Low B, and i really dont think if you go to him he really helps alot, there NO extra credit, the bright side is hes passionate about the subject

Knows his stuff very well. You have to pay REALLY good attention to do well on the tests. He quotes himself and wants very specific answers on the test, so they can be quite tricky. He's a very good speaker though.

interesting to listen to, knows his stuff.. i passed him on the sidewalk today and he was smoking a pipe and he reminded me of sherlock holmes.. and that makes him amazing

Wow, this class was a lot easier than what others have rated. Tests are mainly on lecture, so you must go to class EVERY SINGLE DAY! Don't miss a class; be attentive, take good notes, and you'll get an A. Also, it doesn't matter which professor you choose cuz you'll always get Diclerico AND Hammock for any section of POLS 102.

Terrific professor. If you look up professor in the dictionary, there is his face. Everything you want in a teacher, smart, well-spoken, kind and extremely knowledgable. You are not going to find any better at WVU.

This guy is insane, he's only out to prove that hes better than you are. Very knowledgeable (DiClerico) You can go to class and take notes and still not do well. This class is so rediculous, its too bad they're the only ones who teach it b/c you'd be better off elsewhere if you want a fair grade.

The class is extremely interesting, but you can't miss one lecture. As long as you show up and take notes, the class is not real difficult.

I can't understand why this is supposed to be the "most failed" class at WVU. DiClerico and Hammock are amazing professors! I absolutely loved their class--I wish ALL professors were this brilliant and engaging. If you want to pass this class, do the reading, attend the lectures, and spend time looking up and defining the study guide terms.

I really enjoyed this class. Diclerico is one of the best lectuers i have ever had. He has a good voice, and has a good sense of humor. He made the class inspirational and informative. I learned a lot about the government in this class. I highly reccomend him if you enjoy history/gov. And even if you don't, you won't be bored out of your mind.

Some people think its one of the hardest classes. For a Political Science major it shouldn't be... Just go to class and take notes, study the hell out of them and you will at least pass. He and Hammock are both really helpful. Reading the books helps. Don't be scared. The people that fail are the ones who don't go to class.

Dr. DiClerico is by far the best professor I have had at West Virginia University. His lectures are captivating. Take good notes for POLS 102 as most of the questions for the exam come straight from lecture.

Dr. Diclerico is an amazing professor. He is great at clearly getting the material across. He keeps your attention throughout the entire class, and definately makes it worth your time to show up. The tests are pretty easy too.

He deserves to teach at any Ivy. Phenomenal teacher. His bow ties are great.

Took Dr. Diclerico for his American Presidency class and I'm so glad I did. His test are hard but Dr. Diclerico's knowledge of the presidency made the lectures extremely enjoyable for a political buff like me. This class also prepared me for law school better than any other at WVU. I would recommend Diclerico over any other professor at the school

Great Professor. Probably the greatest professor I have had at WVU. Very knowledgeable. You will learn a lot. There is a lot of material. The tests require critical thinking, so some students may have trouble with the all essay exams. Even so, I highly recommend him for what you will learn.

Professor DiClerico Political Science 102 class is a challenge. His lectures are great and he is a brilliant speaker. However attendance is mandatory if you want to pass. Also his test are very hard. You must take really good notes. He recommended at least 9 hours of studying per exam. There is a lot of material. Make sure to read Points of View!

This guy ws amazing. His tests are hard; however, he is such an amazing teacher that you really want to learn the stuff and find yourself studying and getting A's on the exams! He is the best speaker out of every professor I have ever had. I wish that I had time to take another class of his.

Diclericos political science class is definitly challenging. He doesnt take attendence, but you really cant afford to miss any of his classes. 80% of his exams come straight from his lectures. There is no homework for his class, and there are only 4 exams each worth 25% of your grade. He is a great professor, and really knows what he is talking abo

although class isnt mandatory b/c he doesnt take attendance, it is if you want a good grade. he gives notes every day that are pretty much word for word on his exams; got a B on every exam; he is such a sweet guy & is a political sci master!!!

Being a Poli Sci major I've taken Diclerico before in 102, but after taking him for 310 I have a new respect for the man. The class is the most difficult, yet most interesting class I've ever taken all thanks to Diclerico. This man MUST run for president for the sake of mankind.

DiClerico was the best professor I have had at WVU. An education at WVU is incomplete without taking POLS 310; he is a genius, and the Presidency class gives you a whole new understanding and appreciation for the institution. DiClerico is brilliant but also respectful; the class is very difficult but you can do well if you are willing to work hard.

Dr. DiClerico has extremely difficult exams, so attendance and book reading is a must. That being said, Dr. DiClerico is the best professor I've had yet at WVU. He is vastly knowledgeable about what he's teaching, and he's a really nice guy. Any Political Science major NEEDS to take him. You'll hate yourself when studying, but it's well worth it.

You ever wonder why Dr.Diclerico's classes fill up first? Answer: He is the best professor at WVU and among the best in the nation. If you ever even think you have a chance to fill a slot in one of his classes, you better be damn sure you jump at the opportunity. All of his classes are great and you will learn so much. Go to every class and study!

BRILLIANT. I hate Political Science and have never learned anything up to this point. He is so passionate and so knowledgeable of what he does. I have so much respect for him because of the way he teaches.

I took his honors section of 102, and it was intense, but a GREAT class! You have to read a lot and study even more but he is a fabulous professor and I enjoyed every second of his class! He is always willing to spend his office hours going over material with you and going over exams/what you did wrong. Definitley take him!

Easily my favorite class. He doesn't take attendance, but going to class is a must as 60% of exams come from lecture. He is incredibly interesting and knowledgeable on the subject. Everyone says exams are hard, but I finished with an A+ in the class. If you go to class, pay attention and read (especially Points of View) you should get a B at worst

This was a brutal class. However, I feel that I did get my moneys worth by taking this class. I came out with a very strong understanding of the basis of the american government. READ POINTS OF VIEW AND THE TEXT BOOK. IT IS CRITICAL FOR SUCCESS.

I really enjoyed the class, very interesting and I learned a lot. It was, however, extremely tough. I have never gotten a C in my life and for the overall grade, I got a C+. The grades are all only tests, so if you aren't a great test taker, it works against you.

Very tough class, but an excellent professor. Gotta study your ass off for every test and attend every class although attendance is not taken.

DiClerico is one of the best prof. at WVU. He has such a profound knowledge for the subject, and personal insight. He's delightfully witty while extremely focused. I got a B in the class and 3 B's and 1 A on the tests. The 1st A i actually read the book and the B's I didn't soo... But he's GREAT!!

DiClerico is awesome. His tests are pretty tough, but his teaching style is very effective. He makes Political Science interesting and his lectures are entertaining. Go to class, study the unit syllabuses he gives you and you should be alright.

BEST PROFESSOR AT WVU! don't take any other pols 102 teacher. He teaches you so much and class is never boring. You must go to class and read the books! if you dont u will fail but its so interesting theres no reason not to. Dont not take advantage of his knowledge one of these days he's gonna get snatched up by an ivy league. So TAKE HIM!

Diclerico is a great professor. His lectures are very good and he gets the information off well. If you want to get a B or above you have to show up to all of the classes. If you want an A you HAVE to read the book. I did not do that and that is why I got a B instead of an A. I highly recommend this professor.

hes not the man. His lectures are awesome and you will learn information you cant read in a book thus why going to class is helpful. The downside to the class was the fact that Hammock is the other teacher

Great teacher. His lectures are interesting and are def worth attending. If you want an A you have to go to every class and do all of the readings. You have to work hard in this class but you will learn a lot. Def take this class

If you don't want to have to pry your eyes open to stay awake in class, take Diclerico. His lectures are always interesting- sort of like if you were watching a show on the History channel- but you NEED to go to class to do well. Read the books, study your lecture notes, and pay attention. It's a tough class, no doubt. But very interesting.

Best intro to politics class. 14 kids in the class, and extremely interesting. Tests were all essays and difficult but if you read the material and go to class you will do fine. Amazing teacher and person.

Very learned man of high stature in the department. His pleasant aroma of coconut milk only serves to add to the ambiance of his classroom setting. His riveting reviews of the presidency hitherto displays knowledge well beyond the capacity of the normal mortal

Diclerico is a wonderful professor. The majority of his lectures are extremely interesting because he had knowledge beyond the text and can tell you a story for every lesson. I have been impressed by his mastery of government, and every now and then he even gets a laugh out of the room. Well deserving of your respect, attendance, and attention.

He is a great Professor. He knows the material and is nice and funny and really gets your attention. To get a good grade though you have to go to class.

This is easily the most difficult professor in the POLS department and the most difficult course he teaches. You will learn a LOT, but you will invariably work for every little point you earn. This is the only course I've ever dropped, and the average grade is in the C-D range. Getting an A means that this will be your hardest class of the semester

This is by far the most challenging, but rewarding class I've taken so far. He is an awesome lecturer. If you are thinking about taking this course,you must be committed to studying all of the required info. Also, never miss a class, as his lectures are verbatim on the exam.

He is a genius in his field but is wonderful about putting things in terms that students can understand. He assigns a lot of reading but power skimming them and just looking for the vocab should suffice. Very clear lecturer and reiterates everything. Retiring this year though :( sorry kids.

I have learned the most from this class this semester than I have in any other class I have ever taken. He is a professor that challenges you, so you have to do the mountains of reading and attend class so you can get the information. His tests are really hard, but he is worth it. This class is my favorite and hardest class of college.

I had him 25 years ago and he is still one of the greatest influences in my life. Amazing professor and amazing person. His door was always open and he gave you the respect of a scholar... He will be missed by future students.

Professor DiClerico will forever be my favorite professor here at this university. He is extremely intelligent and very intriguing. He was my first ever class here at WVU and I will be forever grateful that I got to take one of his classes before he retired. Dr. DiClerico is easily one of the most knowledgeable professors at WVU. He is enormously difficult, however, and you have to dedicate long hours to doing well. You learn SO much. All lectures are stricty verbal. I LOVED his class, but I don't think I'll take him again. YOU HAVE TO READ EVERYTHING HE TELLS YOU TO.

Dr. DiClerico is an incredibly intelligent man, and an all-around awesome person. That being said, he grades extremely tough. You don't get many grades, and what you do is graded very subjectively. I didn't NEED an A in this class, so I was happy to take him a second time (also took 102). I would recommend anyone who needs a POLS req take him!

DiClerico has been my favorite teacher here at WVU. He was a tough but fair grader. Readings are a must, as he will call the class out if they aren't prepared for class. He's a brilliant man and I would definitely recommend taking any class of his!

I miss him! He is the best professor. He really knows his stuff and enjoys teaching. He is fair. His lectures are entertaining, and he himself is like an adorable grandpa with the cutest bow ties.

I had Prof. DiClerico in the fall of my freshman year, 1973. He was an amazing professor, and his encouragement was inspirational. I became a professor of political science myself - he was a model. I skipped the bow ties, but I stuck to Khakis and Brooks Brothers button downs. A wonderful man who changed the course of my life.

Dr DiClerico would call students to offer help or check on them if they were sick. He treated each student with respect. He referred to all of his students as Doctor to demonstrate that he saw everyone as an equal. His lectures were fascinating. No one skipped his class. His classes were rigorous but he made students want to work.
