I would recommend him for remedial math classes and College Algebra. He makes algebra easy, and I never thought I would finally understand math!
Great to look at and learn math!
Honestly, the best teacher i have ever had. Really smart and funny. Recommend him for Cal 1
A great teacher and soooo hot too.
Cool guy. Easy class if you keep up and do all the homework and go to every class. He's a freaking wise guy.
Wonderful and talented math teacher. He found his calling! I can't wait to go to class just to stare at him! He's HOT!!!
Helps the girls more than the guys. This guy is such a player. Don't recommend taking him at all unless you are a girl.
he is a great teacher and SOO hot
Not true that he favors women. Im a guy and spent many days in his office getting help. I just think girls approach him more than guys so it appears he is helping them more. Learned a great deal.
Willing to help students. Tries to make it easy for students. This place should stop being so superficial. He's a great teacher because of what the support he gives his students, not because of looks.
Great teacher good with useless information but i liked that. Helped willingly and all that is bull about him favoring the girls they probely failed the course and tried to blame it on something. I would reccomend him to anyone who has problems with math
He is very hard. I'm a girl and I don't care how hot he is - I would never take him again or recommend him to anyone! He isn't clear enough on what he is teaching and is way too cocky!!!
He is a very good teacher, really smart and knows what he's talking about. First math teacher I really thought was helpful because he goes in depth and explains everything well. If you don't get it, just ask and he'll work with u 'til u do. His looks are just an added bonus. Don't hate on him cause he has intelligence AND good looks.
He is an excellent teacher. His looks can be distracting (HOT, HOT, HOT!), but he loves math, and that shows in his teaching. Very helpful, explains well, knows his stuff!
HOT BOY! GREAT TEACHER AND DID I MENTION HOT!

OMG! This man is the reason I passed college algebra! First off, if you hate math, then he's the instructor for you. He's funny and very down to earth. He hasn't forgotten what it's like to be a college student. Second, he's HOT!!! That is enough reason to never miss class. Pay attention in class & do your homework. The rest just comes naturally.
very easy, understanding. very hot too
very good teacher just pay attention and you will do good in his class by the way he tells some dumb jokes but their funny and ask him about his bicycle helmet.
He is the greatest math teacher I have ever had!! I hate math and he made me enjoy it because he's so good at it. And yes ladies he is definetely HOT!!! I was there everyday.
Not a good teacher.
He is a great teacher! He always gives you step by step instructions on how to do the problems. If you need any help with homework he is always willing to lend a hand.He made the class very interesting by telling his random stories and jokes.Plus he relates the math that he teaches to real life situations so it doesn't seem like math is useless.
I took his class in the summer and had to drop.If you are not strong in your math, find someone else. His lecture was fun but I don't think he explained the material clearly enough. He moved way to fast covered all the material I took in the fall in the first 3 weeks.Tends to get sidetracked easily.Lots of HW.Big gap in test scores, 90 or 30.
He was a awsome teacher. Love his online classroom, will explain things to you and take the time so you understand. If he could put up with me he can put up with anyone. I would recommend him to everyone.
Wonderful instructor, took a summer class and he made the material very easy to understand. He gives you copies of his own notes, and it makes it MUCH easier than relying on the book. Taking Cal 3 was a breeze after his class.
He knows his stuff; great teacher. His tests are challenging though. Also, it is irritating watching all the girls fawning over him. So if you are a dude wanting to learn math and see a bunch of booby-popping girls trying to get his attention, I guess you are a winner.
Took the class online, and it was not bad. There is a lot of work though, and if you are not good at math, being in the classroom might be a better choice. But he is a helpful teacher.
class was too difficult
Ok teacher. He is very nice and always was willing to help. Not the easiest class though, but I am not a math kind of person. He does require homework, but it is a minimal amount. I feel that we were well prepared for the test and he gave us a fair review. Does not make the class super easy and this is not a shortcut for Cal.
He rocks! I'm not saying he makes math fun, but he is funny. He explains things, and answers your questions. No, he isn't super-easy, but what math professor is easy?! And, ladies, he's hott!
MATH COMES EASY TO ME BUT I STILL LEARNED A LOT IN HIS CLASS. HE DOESNT REALLY CARE IF YOU SHOW UP OR NOT, BUT IF YOU MISS A LECTURE YOU MISS NECESSARY INFO NEEDED TO LEARN AND PASS THE TESTS. HES LAID BACK AND WILLING TO HELP ALL THE TIME. I WOULD DEFINANTLY TAKE ANOTHER ONE OF HIS COURSES.
Great class. Moved a bit fast but I would definitely take another class from him.
I took two classes online with him and enjoyed both classes. Online classes are always self-taught, but he definitely helped whenever you needed it. He encouraged class participation and was a great help. I would take hime again.
The technology enhanced math was definitely the way to go! It's impossible to make a bad grade if you put just a little effort into your work. Robert was really helpful if you needed him, class was laid back, and he's easy on the eyes! He has a good sense of humor and he's willing to work with students if there's a conflict. Great class!!
this class was a challange but the professor was very nice and helpful. Many people went to his office every day for help and he didn't mind!
This was an internet Business Calculus course, and you definitely have to do your part and study. I wish the professor would've had a study session before the mid-term and finals. But he does make himself available if you have any question.
I had no idea who this teacher was when i signed up for his class, and though i'm not sure if i will be passing his class he is a helpful person; he tries to explains things in "kiddie" kinda of way, this is helpful. He is a good teacher..
Took him for an online class and he was great. He was available whenever you needed him since he gave you his number if you needed help with homework. Responded to questions in less than a day. Tests and homework are almost identical.
Very entertaining and knowledgeable. He is an excellent professor.
Digiovanni is the best math instructor i have had thus far in my college career. he was extremely helpful. just for the love of math dont text during class!
BEST MATH PROFESSOR YOU WILL EVER HAVE AT UTSA AND VISTA. he's always helpful, always clear, and will go really far to make sure you can reach him anytime for help. Gives enough practice problems, reviews for exams, and extra credit opportunities. He made me love calculus! (he's funny & prolly the hottest prof. at Vista too!)
I've take Professor Digi for Precal and Stats. He's helpful and offers a ton of reviews. You can't expect to slack off in any math class, including his. If you work hard, attend, and pay attention you will earn a good grade. I would highly recommend him.
had him for college alg. he is a great teacher, he explains it well enough to understand, and he goes over topics if you don't. very nice guy and funny, i love his random math stories. and his tests have about three questions. offers extra credit too.
good professor. study hard, explains very well. Do your hmwk, you have quizzes too.
Great teacher, he makes everyone feel comfortable enough to ask questions. He is entertaining and makes math so much fun, in the ways that he applies it. Always there for students when they need help
I'm pretty sure his last name has two n's. Anyway, I had Mr. Digiovanni for cal 3 and it was very enjoyable. The classes flew by with his excellent lectures. I thought his explanations were great. He brought in different tools to help us visualize concepts and they definitely helped. He answered any question asked. His tests were like the reviews!
You have to pay attention in class if you really wanna do well..Digiovani is willing to go out of his way to help his students...Just do your part and you should be fine
I took Robert for a developmental math class this summer. He is a FANTASTIC teacher. He explains everything with perfect clarity and does not ramble. The summer course was almost 3hrs long and his random stories and silliness kept it fun. Take him if you want to learn.
Took his online 1324 and 1325 math classes. He's a great teacher. Extremely helpful. Probably the best math teacher i've ever had.
Good teacher, ask questions in class he will answer them, he goes fast and his tests are hard, but does a no risk exam at least once maybe more if you ask him they really helped our class. does not require you to turn in H.W but he does assign H.W. so if you cant study on your own you better be smart.
Robert is and EXCELLENT teacher. best math teacher ive ever had. he makes it interesting, and incorporates equations that pertain to everyday life. If you can get in his class, DO IT!!
took his intermediate and college algebra classes. was never good at math but passed both of these classes with an A, and not because the class is easy but because i actually understood everything. Great teacher, highly recommend.
Professor DiGiovanni is an excellent Professor. I took his online course and it was much easier than I expected, and I am horrible at math. I did the work, stayed on track with all assignments, and passed. He is very helpful and his explanations are very clear. I would definitely recommend him.
He is a very nice guy who works really hard. Sometimes he goes off topic and it can make things confusing. Homework and quizzes are very easy (he almost always does completion grades) but the tests are hard. The good thing is he allows a cheat sheet on every test.
For an online professor he goes out of his way to make himself available to students by providing multiple ways to contact him. He is very clear on what he expects from students and gives more than enough opportunities to success. This is a must take professor.
I dreaded math with a passion before i took Digiovanni, but he's a very good professor and he teaches the material in a way that you can understand, he doesn't just stick to one method. I highly recommend taking him. Textbook use is frequent in his class.
He explained everything step by step and made it easy. He helped prepare everyone for college algebra. I really enjoyed how simple it was.
Mr. DiGiovanni is AWESOME!He's so helpful & will let you know how your grades through out the semester. He records himself in class, so if you need to go back to review or if you were absent you can go back and view them. He gives out a managable amount of homework & is very nice. Taking him for 0303. TAKE HIM!
Robert is extremely helpful! I took him online. There is a homework assignment and quiz every week. If you need something reopened just ask him and give him your reason and he'll reopen it. I would definitely take him again.
I actually dislike math but Digiovani is a great professor Always available when needed help and He asks questions just to make sure everyone is on the same page. He is very helpful and makes math clear. I loved him, he really does prepare you for college algebra. He is also a funny man, I would def. recommend him.
Robert is the best Math Professor yet. He goes over everything and makes it interesting. He lets you use notes on a test. He teaches you steps for problems that are ridiculous, but everyone gets it. He is just a GREAT PROFESSOR!!!!
Great instructor! Grades very fair. Is very smart and he dumbs it down for someone like me. Highly recommend!
One of the finest teachers I met,He goes out of his way to help you
Mr. D is very helpful. he is constantly asking throughout his class if any questions. He also records his class and puts on YouTube for you. Gives homework every class but NEVER takes it up. always gives extra credit. Just don't txt
AWESOME teacher!!! Very clear and provides each process step by step. He constantly makes sure that you aren't confused and even records his lessons. Great for when I needed to review prior to test. Best teacher I've had yet.
Honestly the best math professor I have ever had, and one of the best teachers I have ever had. Gave out his cell number so students could call him whenever with questions, extensively uses graphics and animations to illustrate 3D concepts, records and posts all lectures and lecture notes, always available to go over problems.
Professor D is very nice , and goes out of his way to help you . He is always available in his office hours to help .There are 4 tests and some take home quizzes . He records his lectures ,so you can go back and review them . He gives reviews before the tests , but his tests are NOTHING LIKE THE REVIEWS and they are really hard
IF you do not turn in the binder at the end of the semester, that is an automatic ZERO. He does reopen quizzes and homework assignments for you to re-do after exam 3. His grading is extreme when it comes to the end of the semester. We had a technical difficulty on campus & if you chose to take the final @ home it was an automatic 10 pt deduction.
Amazing teacher!!! Very knowledgeable and helpful, he explains each topic with crystal clear detail. He records all of his classes (even study sessions), and puts them on Youtube and this makes it extremely helpful for reviews or to catch up if you miss a class. Highly recommend him. Would take again!!!!
If you are not a visual person , don't take him . Yes he is nice , knowledgeable, and clear , but he tests you at the P.H.D level . You never know what is gonna be on the test ,and he is very hard grader Overall , if you are a visual person, strong at math, and can go to his office everyday , you might want to take his class . I won't recommend.
Proceed at your own risk. A lot of people speak very highly of him. Personally, I was not impressed. I emailed him about 3 weeks prior to the midterm since I was having difficulty with some problems on the review. By the time I got his response it was already too late. Ended up getting a tutor and managed to get a A.
His tests are difficult ,nothing like the reviews . Test #1 & 2 were Ok , but tests # 3 & the final were really hard . We didn't have a single "A" in those two tests ,and the class just had 1 "B". Also, his grading is extreme at the end of the semester .I guess because he knew we couldn't drop . He always comes with new ideas on the tests!!
Decent at teaching. Test are almost complete opposite of the review. Do the homework though that helps a lot. Hard to communicate with if you're struggling.
This guy goes over new material, and then immediately wants to pop quiz the class on the stuff. How well does he truly expect his student score on a quiz that they've just been introduced minutes prior and haven't had even a second to study for? It is so beyond ridiculous. It isn't at all reasonable or fair.
Professor DiGiovanni is one of, if not, the best math professor I have ever taken. You may think he is unhelpful and mean at first but if you go in during his office hours, he is great. He will explain to you something over and over again until you get it and he is super understanding. I 100% recommend anyone take him if you can!!
Quizzes are timed and he counts down the time to the class, which adds stress on students trying to think and focus in the moment. There have been several quizzes that I would have passed had there been no pressure against time. I pay him to teach me math, not be my pressure management instructor. I had enough of that during my tour in Iraq.
I have done good in all my math courses until this point. It is the way he orchestrates the class that makes it hell. You're given quizzes every week; sometimes twice a week. They are worth as much as an exam. His course is so stressful. If I have to retake this course, I will most definitely not retake it with him.
best Math teacher that I ever had, know is material greatly and makes though classes like cal2 easy
Best teacher I have ever had!
I didn't like he way he graded and set up exams. There were quizzes almost every class. It was a very stressful class to be in. Almost all of the problems on exams are trick problems, requiring special pre-knowledge. He is excellent at mathematics and grades you with that same expectation.
I'm reading people say that his class is stressful, and hell yeah it is. "Stressful" is the word to describe his course, and it shouldn't have to be that way. Instructors like him are what make students hate math. He needs to be more reasonable with exams. Enough of the extra crap that he adds to exams to make them "challenging".
GREAT PROFESSOR but... His test will crush you if you aren't prepared for them. His test are stressful, and he will throw the kitchen sink at you on them, but you won't forget what you've learned, pass or fail. Here's some advice; Do all of the homework, odds, evens, upside down and inside out. If you think you're ready, then you're not. Good lu
I did good in all of my math classes until I took his class , He suddenly gives you a pop quiz on the new materials , and the quizzes count just as the tests .His tests are hard, challenging and stressful, almost, total opposites of the reviews.I love math ,and he made me be stressful about it all the time. You want good grade?Avoid his class!!
I hate math more than I ever thought I could because of his class and his class alone.
Amazing professor!
By far one of my favorite math teachers at NVC. Definitely not an easy class, but if you put in effort he will reward you for it. He stays after class and helps. Gives out cell # to give you help outside of office hours. Easily approachable, but requires you to put in the effort. If you are looking for an easy class, this is definitely not for you.
Amazing professor! He is willing to help you before, and after class. Lectures are recorded, and posted on youtube. He gives you everything you need to pass his class! But he will call you out if you're on your phone, or sleeping. :)
If you're considering taking Calculus(or any other math class for that matter) online with this teacher, please don't! I have taken all of my maths online so far, I have made A's in all of them and yet wasn't even able to pass this class. Not a SINGLE person passed his midterm online(42% class avg), half the class dropped right after. Says a lot.
Took him for 2313 and 2314. Great guy and is ALWAYS willing to help before and after class and over the phone. 2313 was fairly decent and I passed with no problem. 2314 was a beast. You have to work more than ever for your grade and there is TOO MUCH material to learn in a short period of time so do ALL the homework (oddeven) repetitively!!!
This is a tough class to take online. However, he was willing to help and his extra credit really helped me out. Next time, I may take his class in person.
The examples given in class are good, but they are not at all challenging in the least bit. They do not give you a good preparation for homework assignments and especially not the exams. He purposely makes his exams more difficult than they need to be.
If you're considering taking MATH 1324 or MATH 1325 online, be prepared to do a lot of work (especially for 1325). You get 4 chances for each homework problem, & 3 chances to pass each quiz. The in-person exams are very difficult unless you properly prepare. DO THE EXAM REVIEWS since the questions are similar & write the steps on your cheat sheet.
Good instructor. Textbook is not required, but need to print his packages to study and do homework. No sleeping, cellphone in class; I think he does absolutely right because it helps you to focus on studying. Tests are not tricky, if you study all problems in materials and home work, you should get an A.
I took his summer course. He is a really good teacher. He is passionate about math, and doesn't only tell you how to do something but why it's done that way. If you need help ask before or after class and he is willing to help! He records his lectures and posted them on YouTube which is helpful if you miss class.
Best math professor ever! Really cares about his students. Make sure to do all of the homework because it will help you at the end of the semester. He isn't someone that just hands out A's but if there is something you don't understand, just ask him and he will keep explaining it to you until you completely grasp the concept.
Digiovanni is an amazing teacher. The only problem is that his tests are TOUGH. Like seriously tough. If you do all the homework and listen and take notes you'll do good on the pop quizzes, but you need to do more for the tests. Nonetheless he's probably one of the best math teachers at vista, not too sure if I'd take him again though.
Awesome teacher. Personable, humorous, knows how to engage the class! Video records his lecture for you to review outside of school!! Assigns homework you need for quizzes and exams. Explains in detail on overhead. Generous with his time. I'd take him again!!
I took an online Calculus I course with Professor DiGiovanni and it went pretty well. Calculus is tough without consistent practice and the professor makes the assignments and expectations very clear. If you focus on practicing the assignments and watching the lectures you will pass, no problem.
Professor DiGiovanni is the type of person who will go out of his way to help a student. He has spent hours, if not days, recording the lectures, and then going out of his way to record homework solutions on his spare time. If you don't pay attention in class, and you don't take him seriously, you won't pass. He hates when you ask for a review.
For the online class the homework is pretty clear and if you email him with a question he'll answer it clearly the next day. Test are pretty easy as long as you do the homework and pay attention.
Robert's lectures are clear, concise, and are recorded for Youtube. He is a tough grader. I earned my grade. When I needed help, he emailed me back right away (sometimes w/in a few hrs). I will definetly be taking him again for Cal I. (Side Note: When asked for degree advise, he was very helpful and knowledgable.)
Best lecturer I have had in any course. He goes out of his way to help students, spends his spare time, even when at home to create videos for students to watch and learn how to go about solving a problem. Be aware that if you aren't prepared to give it your all it will reflect on your grade, but you will learn more than your final grade shows
I took him for Cal 1 and Cal 2 and I thought he was one of the better teachers I have had. My new born was really sick so my grade started to suffer and he really worked with my situation. Also everything you could possibly need is online for you to review. He makes it almost unable to fail as long as you put in the time.
Took this class in the summer. Great professor. Explains things very clearly. Encourages studentso to ask questions on problems if tbere having trouble so he can help you understand. He records all his lectures so if you miss your able to watch what the class did. Which is helpful..
Great prof! He records the class notes and posts them on youtube so you can go back if you get lost! He gives out his phone number so you can reach him at any time for questions! He does videos of the homework problems which was very helpful to me bc I learn by example The only things he grades are quizzes and exams so study whenever you feel lost!
This was my 2nd time taking or DiGiovanni. I will be also taking him for Cal II. He is one of the best lecturers for math I've ever had. He posts all of the lectures on YouTube as well as HW solutions. He has always been easily accessible outside of class, even as far as to give out his personal cell #. Whenever I had a question he was insightful.
This teacher was an awesome calculus teacher. He video tapes all of his lecture just in case you miss a class and has homework solution videos if you get stuck on the homework. I enjoyed his teaching skills so much that I plan on taking him for Calc2.
Dude, this was my third time taking Calculus and I couldn't find a professor that could actual teach until Professor DiGiovanni. Honestly, take him if you can. Before I even took his class I had counselors telling me to watch his videos. He truly is awesome and cares that you succeed in the course. Take him!
Robert is an an amazing teacher. he's also really funny. In his lectures he like to throw in "useless information" he calls it to help keep your attention. he even records his lectures so if you miss class or have a question you can rewatch the videos. hw given every night but he doesn't ever check. and the "textbook" you can print out off online.
If your like me and aren't really good at math, I would Definitely recommend Professor DiGiovanni, He is awesome! very thorough with his lectures and he will answer any questions you may have. he breaks down every problem while he is doing it which I found really helpful! do the homework, show up, you will pass!
This is the 3rd time I've taken Robert. He gives amazing lectures, grades fairly (but tough tests), & is always available for help outside of class. He also posts all of his lectures and HW on YouTube for help. Cal II has horror stories, however, with Robert, he made it easy to understand. I would recommend this professor to anyone.
If you have a hard time in math DEFINITELY take Mr. DiGiovanni! He is the BEST math teacher I've had. He explains step by step how to work out each problem and is very helpful at answering questions. I also like that he posts his lectures on YouTube. If you do the homework assignments you should make an A on exams. MAKE SURE YOU DO THE HOMEWORK.
Mr. D is by far the greatest professor I've ever had. His lectures all are recorded and posted online. I never thought I'd take Cal II online, his online lectures are that good. Mr. D is great at what he does and really cares about students, I never once felt intimidated by asking him about a certain concept. I wish he taught all levels of math.
He is one of the greatest math professor i have ever had. He honestly cares and gives you all the tools to make an A. He makes sure that he isn't just throwing equations at your face but shows you how they are derived. i am even taking him for my calc 3.
Mr. DiGio is a great prof, took his cal 3 online, and it dont get no easier than this. You gotta do what you gotta do. Math is hard. It was a grueling summer but I love the guy and he has a good sense of humor. Exams were difficult at times, but his online class is not as rigorous as his in person class in a way, you just gotta be self sustaining!
Mr. Digiovanni is awesome! I have always struggled in math, however with professor DiGiovanni's lectures it was very understandable. My reccomendation is, do your homework and do supplemental problems. If you have done your homework, re do it. I took the online class during the summer and it was not easy, but if you do hmwrk &lctrs you wl Pass.
Took Cal II for the summer. Lots of homework, lots of quizzes, 4 tests that make up 75% of your grade. Has all his lectures for the past several years on youtube. If you can handle the workload, then you'll pass. No extra credit, you lose points for late work. Do all the work, show all your work, you'll pass for sure.
He was such an awesome professor. I took him before having to drop his class, and he really did well explaining the material, breaking down problems for us to better understand. Only thing is, there's a lot to remember! Be ready to study your butt off!
Great teacher. Very accommodating and willing to help.
Mr. Digiovanni is amazing! His lectures are super clear and fun. Make sure you stay on top of your homework tho.
Records all his lectures and hw solutions. Teaches very well and easy to understand
Digiovanni is without a doubt the best professor I've had. I took him for the entire cal sequence and I never felt intimidated by the stuff in class. He has a lot of work but it is not very hard to keep up with. I'd recommend anyone to take Digiovanni, and am highly satisfied with the caliber of education he provided.
Great Teacher! I usually dont rate my teachers, but he was such a great math teacher and recommend him to anyone.
I have failed this class 3 times, and now I am making As on tests. He is extremely good at relating what he's teaching to real life problems so that the concepts are easier to grasp. He made it easy and fun to learn. I look forward to taking the rest of my math courses with him.
Hands down, one of the greatest professor's I've ever had. Calculus isn't just your regular math class, it introduces you to a whole new way of critical thinking. He has a way of pushing you to do your very best. If you aren't going to care, than neither will he. If you put in the work and try your very best, he will do all that he can to help you.
He is the best! He records all of his lectures and he also records the answers to the homework, so if you're the type of person that gets intimidated to go to office hours to ask for help they help. The tests are exactly like something you would see in class and they won't surprise you. Also, the homework is for a grade, unlike some teachers.
take him online honestly the easiest way to do it. You make a binder of all assignments with work, you take the majority of his tests online. You can use solution sheets and everything. Get a chegg subscription. He even helped me on the final and gave me a curve. Has videos on youtube but you don't have to watch them. Cal 2 & 3 taken with him.
He is legitimately the best professor I've ever taken, at community college and a 4 year uni. He RECORDS his lectures and posts them online, he has video solutions to all of the homework assigned. Class is broken down between 3 exams, quizzes, and the final, but doing HW is 100% necessary to pass. He's very nice, caring, and approachable. 100% recc
I hope NW Vista knows that they have one of the best math professors in Texas teaching classes on its campus. His online class in Calc 2 is fantastic-lectures recorded, and he is available always to help. The guy, besides being brilliant ,actually cares about his students. Cannot rate him highly enough. Do be sure to do all the work though!
Great professor. The class itself is hard but he makes it interesting and fun to learn. There are no reviews for exams but if you do your homework, and follow his advice you will do great in class.
As someone who struggled with math all my life I never thought I would receive an A ever and think it was easy. He connects math to real-world situations, both made up or something he is dealing with, and it makes it much easier to recall on test days. He also records almost every class.
Easiest math class I've taken ever, just pay attention in class and you'll understand the material. Makes the class fun and he also records most of the classes so if you miss a day you can just watch it on youtube hours after the class. There are 4 test (including final) and most had a review that will help a lot on the test if you did the review.
Took online class over the summer for two months. Expects everything written by hand and turned in at the end or you'll fail, left my new tablet useless. Thankfully has multiple videos of him solving homework, and expect to use WebAssign (100$) for the class. Failed my midterm, but allowed a chance to raise the score with a high final test grade.
I wish all teachers had as much dedication as he does. He puts so much effort into recording classes and homework solutions. Best teacher I have had so far in college, after taking about 60 credits. He is tough and expects students to study hard, but he is the best higher level math teacher.
I am a math tutor and I did see how other professors teach calculus. I think he challenges you and makes sure you know what you are doing. Don't just watch the videos, you are not going to have them in the exams. I highly recommend him for math an engineering majors. You will be using skills you learn forever. Nas
Taking this course online, you have to rely on his videos to take notes. His 3-hour lecture videos are completely disorganized that you will have no clue where to find what you need. Since it is now 2020 and his video notes are from 2013, you think he would go back through them just to reorganize. If you can work through the chaos then take this.
If you want to understand math, he is the professor for you. Professor Digiovanni is one of the few best professors I have ever had in my college life. He teaches so you can understand math and not just plug in numbers for the sake of doing so. He does have pop quizzes but if you do the h/w and review. The quizzes wont be so hard.
extremely anal about tests during online class- if your camera angle isn't perfect he'll call you out in front of the whole class. extremely rude during tests/exams. I got called out in front of the whole class because my laptop died. would not recommend at all.
He is a bit of a jerk but also funny. If you ask for help he is happy to provide it. All lectures and coursework online on webassign (another $100) but i recommend doing the textbook homework as well. Your grade is basically one midterm and the final. I bombed the 1st but he gave an 8 pt curve on final allowing me to pass. I'm grateful i chose him.
I took Calc 1 and 2 online. His video lectures are thorough, and his homework videos are extremely helpful. These are not easy subjects but Prof. DiGiovanni really tries to break things down and explain them as clearly and concise as possible. A must take professor for STEM majors. Tests make up most of the grade, reviews are helpful.
Prof. Digiovanni has been one if not the best professor that I have ever taken. Not only does he record all of his lectures (even the ones in-class before COVID) but also spends his personal time recording himself working through all of the homework. By far one of the most passionate professors out there. He will make you work for it.
DiGiovanni is one of my favorite professors! I took his algebra class, and now I am taking one of his calculus classes. He truly wants his students to understand the material and pass the tests. He is always willing to help a student who comes to his office hours or asks questions. I have never seen him be rude, boring, or show bias or favoritism.
Professor DiGiovanni is a great professor! I took his class online due to the pandemic and his video lectures are easy to understand. I recommend you don't skip a video or fast-forward on any of them because every step is important. He is available when needed so I recommend reaching out to him if you're stuck on a problem.
The homework is your chance to get all 100s. He leaves plenty of study resources, and you will have to put in a lot of time and practice a lot of questions, but that's the nature of math courses anyway.
took the seven week Cal 2 course and this is by FAR the best math professor I have ever had. His lectures are setup perfectly in order. If you go through his lectures in order and without skipping around or skipping ahead, you will pass this class. Like all math, if you put the time and effort in you will succeed. You get out as much as you put in.
By far one of the better professors I have ever had. He doesn't simply teach you how to work a problem, he explains it's application to the real world, the reasoning behind the work you're doing. Having that extra level of understanding is what helps you pass this class. Highly recommend him to any engineering, math, or computer science majors.
I read Robert's reviews on here and decided to take his course. Although he is decent, and provides tons of videos to watch (sucks btw), his class is absolutely HORRIBLE and tough. I like to learn things in my own way but it was hard with him b/c he wanted the answers HIS way. I love math but not anymore Also, he requires live webcam during exams.
Professor DiGiovanni is a top-tier professor. In terms of commitment to helping students learn, there is none like him. He posts his lectures online so the course is very go-at-your-own-pace. If you watch the lectures, do the homework, and do the test reviews you should have no problem doing well. He is very accessible/helpful outside class too.
He's very passionate about his teaching and cares a lot about his students' learning. He has his own YouTube channel called robertmathguy where he posts his lectures and even solutions to the homework problems. Cal 2 is a harder subject and you do have to work for your grade, but he does provide the essential tools for you to pass
Professor DiGiovanni is amazing. I took Calculus 1 and 2 with him since the classes are prerequisites for an MS degree I'm applying for that infuses technology within the arts. He does a great job explaining math through videos where he shows the steps for several problems, and was always available for office hours (extremely helpful.) TAKE HIM!
Professor Digiovanni was fantastic! I struggle with math and was quite nervous about taking it but I thoroughly enjoyed his class! His class did provide a challenge but not so much so that the class was miserable. He was very easy to understand. My favorite professor in college so far! Would definitely take again!
He's honestly one of the best math teachers I've ever had! If you have any questions he will go over anything and make sure you understand what going on.
Professor Digiovanni is easily one of the best Math teachers I've ever had. Some of the reviews I've seen are upset about his testing protocol, but he communicates these guidelines clearly and they are not unreasonable. Show you understand the material and you'll get a good grade, even if you make small arithmetic errors. Use the provided materials
I took professor DiGiovanni based on his rating & because he had good reviews, I assumed he was a good professor. That wasn't the case, testing is on zoom & camera angled right. You're allowed 1 reference sheet, no worked out problems, test written out/ printed, no laptop insight, zoom on phone, & if he suspects you're cheating he calls you out.

Take someone else if you can. Horrible experience.
Every week had homework due (submit written work). You can work ahead on assignments. Mid-term and Final are on Zoom and 70% of the grade. Provides lecture and homework solutions through his robertmathguy Youtube channel. Also gives bonus problems through videos. Overall, explains materials clearly and is one of the best professors I have had.
After class I got flat tire he helped me change it. An amazing person.
Mr. DiGiovanni takes personal time out of the day to talk with students who need help understanding the material. A lot of people on here put that he is very strict and test heavy, but he just wants to make sure the students understand the material. I wish I was able to take calc 2 with him :(. Overall great professor and great guy!
I took this course in the summer, Professor Digiovani was accessible throughout the weekends. He explained all new courses material. If you havent taken math in a while he does not make you feel dumb, hes genuinely a good professor and overall a sweet person, would definitely take again. Hes very personable.
He is a great prof and great person took him for a summer class and he was very energetic and make a 3.5 hour long class enjoyable. Does everything he can to help you understand and in my class we had a lot of extra credit. He will answer every question and explain till you got it. Recommend this man.
This Professor was so inspired by math that he inspired you, even though this was a very tough summer semester he made it awesome.
Any of the bad reviews written about this dude is TRUE. It seemed all my classmates had a variety of the same issues with this dude. He's honestly very rude and condescending. He grades extremely tough and if you don't write any of your work like his, he throws a whole fit because you didn't do it like he did, even though the answer is CORRECT.
I was recommended Digiovanni by another math professor who was not teaching precalc this semester. Digiovanni was a fantastic teacher and will explain when someone doesn't understand something often multiple times to make sure the class gets it. Very approachable outside of class, and normally grades his tests on a curve.
If you are not the best at math like myself, take the class with him. He is kind, makes the material understandable and fun. He encourages class participation. He began the first day of class with expressing how he wants everybody to pass this course. Math book is online, sometimes he'll send HW on Canvas. 10/10 would recommend.
I had professor DiGiovanni for Calculus I and am currently taking him for Calculus II now and I highly recommend! He is THE BEST math teacher I have ever had. He makes the class fun and provides lots of resources to make sure you understand all the material. He cares about the success of his students and presents the material very clearly!
I feel bad for anyone who does not take Calculus III with Digiovanni. He codes problems so you can visually see what you are trying to solve for and what a function does. Being able to visualize function operators greatly helped. The overall grading is evenly split 50/50 between homework and exams. Lots of content, chapter 13 was the hardest.
I typically struggle with all things math, but I could keep up and understand the subjects he was teaching us. He would show multiple ways of solving problems if able and will help you if he sees you are confused by anything he is talking about. He gives test reviews that show the layout of the test and allows cheat sheets with formulas and steps.
I was unfortunately unable to take this class because two tests MUST be taken on campus at set hours and I work an inflexible full-time job. I would have appreciated this being mentioned on the registration course description, but it was not which is conflicting.
Professor DiGiovanni is amazing at what he does. His lectures are amazing, and he goes above and beyond for his students. There's optional homework, but you should do it anyway to get practice. I'll definitely be taking him for the calculus series. As long as you put effort in you're going to do good.
Cal 2 class was great! Personally I found it to be easier than my Cal 1 class I had with another teacher and highly recommend taking cal 2 with Digiovanni.
I was very curious to see if the reviews on RMP were overhyping this professor. Safe to say, they were not. Professor Digiovanni is probably the best math professor I've ever had. He not only teaches well but also provides a multitude of sources you can use to assist with learning. The only way for you to mess up is if you do not pay any attention.
Just finished his course, and as a returning student that thought it was going to be a difficult into college life. He is always willing to answer your questions. you will pass his class! he will repeat himself 2 to 3 times and then pause to make sure everyone understands at that point then move forward i highly recommend his class!
Professor DiGiovanni is an excellent math professor. While his classes can be challenging, he provides plenty of resources to help you succeed. Using tools like Unstuckstudy along with the textbook can make studying more efficient. Attend class, engage with the material, and you'll learn a lot.
I took Prof Digiovanni for 2 semesters. I took him for Pre-calc and Calc 1. He was and still is one of my favorite professors of all time. He is so passionate and caring. The material is challenging but he really wants his students to succeed. He offers office hours that are always helpful. I really can not express how amazing this professor is.
Be prepared to teach yourself. His homework and videos are outdated, lengthy, and hard to follow. Student questions in videos are inaudible, so you miss context. He skips steps, rarely replies, and requires a perfect binder of work, though two in-person exams (47% each) make up nearly the whole grade. Exam reviews don't match. Wouldn't recommend.
I'm not one to give ratings for professors, but Mr Digiovanni was the best math teacher ever, he helps you when you don't understand something, even outside of class like his office hours, and really try's his best to make sure you can understand the subjects he teaches. You can tell he really wants you to succeed.
Easily one of the best teachers I've met. Patient, caring, tells you why you messed up on a problem and will give you a detailed reason how and why you can fix a problem you're struggling with. I use to think I SUCKED at math, until I took this guys class. Promise if you actually try to pay attention, do your best in his class, you'll be fine!
amazing professor!! please take him!!! hw isnt a grade but that could be a good or bad thing depends on if you are disciplined enough. gives test reviews, tests arent too bad if you study. he likes to joke around and tell stories which the class appreciates. one of the best math professors ive taken. take him if possible.
Best professor you can take! This guy deserves only 5 star reviews. If he has any bad ones, it is because people were lazy or didn't bother to put in the work to learn. His criteria is simple, just quizzes and exams. Homework is not for a grade but will help you pass this class so do it at least twice! His exams are also just like the reviews.
Professor DiGiovanni was awesome. Lectures were clear and concise, he was always available when needed outside of class. All lectures were recorded so as to allow students to review them later. Test grading was as fair as can be, and best of all: neither Pearson nor Math lab were used! Overall 10/10 instructor. Keep up the amazing work Professor!!
Great professor. His lectures were great, and he constantly made sure everyone understood the material. You can also reach him outside of class. Lectures were uploaded daily, as well as homework videos, which made studying a lot easier. I plan on taking him again, definitely recommend.
One of my favorite professors so far. Always took the time to back track and rebuild foundational knowledge to help guide you to the answer. Was never condescending, offered lots of help, always uploaded lectures after class and could view past lectures at any time. Cares about his students. Coursework isn't heavy and is easy to keep up with.
Genuinely the best math professor I've ever had. I hope this mans pillow is cold on both sides when he sleeps at night. If you're able to take him, please do.
