He is a really good professor. His lectures are very clear and always goes over what will be on the quizes and exams. He assigns a reaserch paper due at the end of the semester and is a big part of the grade.
GREAT professor! Excellent lecturer, well-informed, organized, helpful and passionate about the material. He writes out an outline at the beginning of class and lectures to it, but in a compelling and interesting way. He has extensive knowledge from recent interpretations. This guy is great! I took him at another college, and would take him again!
He doodles on the board alot when he lectures, it actually helps when taking notes. He says "mkay" and "right" ALOT. One day i counted and he said it 97... no joke!!!!
Very good teacher. Gives outlines at the beginning of class so lectures are easy to understand. Encourages discussion and questions, but not required. Very open teacher. There are like 3 or 4 tests-- 50 multiple choice that are usually from lecture/readings from textbook and 3 short essay blue book questions straight from lecture. STUDY NOTES!!!
He's a very good lecturer, and makes sure to cover the important details that will be on the tests. It's important to attend class and take notes. Pay attention to the reader questions for the tests. He draws alot and leaves little marks all over the board and that's kind of annoying but hes still a very good professor. I highly suggest him.
He filled in for Palermo while he was on paternity leave. Graded tough on our papers that were due every other week, but that's what a student should want. He gave constructive criticism and told you what needed to be done to get an A, then congratulated you if you reached that potential.
I usually hate history but I loved this class. His lectures are more like stories rather than series of facts. If you take good notes and make flashcards based on the study guide you should pass.
He is very enthusiastic about what he teaches but there is no timeline or textbook the course follows. We had five books and had to read all of them--tested on four and a paper on one. It is a lot of reading and it seems he wants you to regurgitate his ideas instead of developing your own. I love history but not the way he taught it.
Boring at first. Says "right" way too much. Sometimes its hard to listen to his lectures, other times what he talks about is interesting. His exams can be confusing and difficult (no multiple choice questions, all essays and short answers). I wouldnt recommend taking this professor.
He lectures good and all but he grades way to hard.he has a study guides but there is always new info on the test.tests are short answer, essay and multiple choice that everyone did so bad on that he took it out and added another essay. also he hates it when people come in late or sleep in class...i got an 86 on the final and a C in the class.
Disappointing class and professor. I'm a history major and this was the only history class that I haven't liked. There was no organization or textbook and he is a very hard grader. He decided to teach this class in a new unconventional way but I learned nothing and cannot take anything positive away from this class. What a waste of time and money!
He wrote his lecture outline on the board before class, which helped me better organize my notes. He wants you to see the "big picture" with events. Does not focus on dates and places, but the themes and reasons for events. No M.Choice on tests. He gives you a lot of written feedback on your tests & essays. He is passionate about what he teaches!
His teaching style is basicly like telling a story and lecturing by the outline he puts up. If you don't like prof who just talk then I don't take this class because that is basically it. His test is pretty fair as long as you study and take good notes during class. Do the reading qu, they will help. REALLY read the extra books, skim the text.
Professor Dunn is an excellent professor and ratings that are negative are probably from lack of effort. His tests are EXACTLY from his lectures. So I recommend going to his class everyday. He makes his lectures interesting, and he focuses on telling a story rather than making you memorize time and place. Easy A. Take him for sure :)
He assigns 5 novels which pertains to the exams. All exams are essay format. This class is easy because everything on the exam is EXACTLY what he lectures in class. He's a fair grader. In order to do well, make sure to READ, ATTEND CLASS, and take good notes. Expect to read alot in this class. Overall, passionate and great teacher.
There is also a 7 page paper you have to do. Easy grader. I got an A!
He was a pretty good teacher. His lectures were very fast and sometimes boring. This class you have to work pretty hard in to do well, but it is not too bad.
Absolutely loved Dunn's class. Although there there lots of books to read for his class, his choice in books were AMAZING. They were all so different but were related in some way or another. If you pay attention, answer questions in his class, study, then you'll definitely get an A!
Hard to stay focused with a class of over 300 people, boring lectures, tests unclear
Lectures were passionate and easy to follow. Quizzes were unfair with timing in the beginning, no assignments. Midterms and quizzes are mostly off of his lectures. Assigned 2 books to read, though material was overwhelmingly too much to read for the quizzes assigned. Quizzes are on sac CT, 3 midterms, 1 final.
Dunn is clear&passionate. if a concept isn't clear to you, he's happy to clarify. The first quizzes were difficult- he didn't allow enough time to complete them, but he gave extra credit for the quizzes. The lectures are a must. Test questions from book and class. Learned a lot in the class.
He is an okay professor. But sometimes he makes a big deal out of you getting up to use the restroom or leaving early even though its an emergency. And I don't like how he doesn't post the notes online. But overall, he's alright.
Robert Dunn is very passionate, articulate, intelligent and patient. I am extremely thankful I had him for my fisrt semester at sac state. If you want to hear fascinating subject matter from and approachable and passionate teacher, take Dunn. If you dont want to work drop out of school. Thank you Dunn for the wonderful and enlightening class.
Can you say BORING? His lectures were all over the place, my hand was cramping from the amount of notes he required, all of his exams are lecture based. Why even bother buying the book? Complete waste of my time and money.
He is a great teacher, he is excited and passionate about what he teaches, he is engaging in converstaion with students to add to the lecture, and pretty lenient on grading the essays. People dont like him because they dont go to class or just want to mess around while in class . Go to class take notes,do Xtra credit, and youll get an A.
Dunn is a very engaging professor. His lectures are important to attend. Don't sleep or text in class, he finds it very disruptive. Try to sit in the front of the class. The class size for HIST17B is 300 people, and 200 typically attend. Tests come from the lectures. He is very passionate about history!
great teacher. go to lecture and take notes!
Professor Dunn is a very straightforward professor. His class consist of just a lecture, which you need to take notes on if you want to get a good grade. He does not post up notes so make sure you attend class. Speaks with clarity and emphasis which makes paying attention easy. He provides a study guide for every exam which makes it easy, so do it!
you NEED to attend class because he does not post any notes. his tests are very hard and confusing! we barley used the book. all of his test are on his lectures which sucks.
So He is a really passsion about his career!! but overall i believe his class is kinda hard! too much exams and quizzes! On top of that! we dont even use textboook at all!! His test are base on his lectures that YOU have to take good notes!!!
Great lectures and helpful teacher. NEED to read book[s] to do well on quiz and test. Quiz are very difficult open answer and test are multiple choice.
Class is very hard. If you do not have a recorder then its impossible to get a C in the class. There was 3 exams that was hard because there were too many information to study on. Essays are hard and need extra extra information in order to get a high grade. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS UNLESS YOU ARE A HISTORY FREAK WHO HAS GREAT LISTENING SKILLS!
His class is really interesting and his lectures are fun to listen too. His tests and quiz are super hard. on top of that Prof Dunn grades WAY to hard. It's a fun class but be prepared to take good notes and pay attention.
He grades way too hard!! His tests, essays, and quizzes are pretty impossible because he is such a hard grader. Dunn is nice and his lectures are interesting but only take this class if you can listen and take really good notes.
like everyone else said, Prof. Dunn is a extremely hard grader. I got a C on one of the book paper we had to do. This is coming from someone who usually gets A's on papers. Smh.
do not take this professor!!! grades too hard and expects us to know every. single. detail. ugh
lol at the person who said " Go to class take notes,do Xtra credit, and youll get an A." so NOT true. he teaches 17B also so beware.
Dunn's lectures are told in a "story". However he is very detailed when it comes to the test questions which makes the test very diffucult. HARSH GRADER. easy to get a C but very hard to get a A.
Yes, this class is tough - but doable. You really have to pay attention and missing class can hurt you. Dunn is an amazing professor but the downside is that he is very picky when it comes to grading.
Dunn is the best! His lectures wont make you fall asleep and he is extremely passionate about history. Taking good notes and studying is a must. I would say its hard to earn a A but easy to earn a B if you really push yourself. I ended up with a B in the class :)
not the easiest class but its not the hardest. attendance is pretty much mandatory & so it taking good notes! he is a very hard grader. test and quizzes are tricky but again take good notes and invest in a recorder.
Do your work and show up to class, attendance is key, take good notes and remember his lectures well and you'll do fine. a recorder isn't necessary and he's not a hard grader if you remember the details, that shows you paid attention to his lectures. i did exactly this and got an A.
Not a hard class if you take notes and show up, attendance is key. a recorder isn't necessary unless your're really forgetful, and he's not a hard grader if you remember the details, which shows that you paid attention to his lectures. otherwise his lectures are interesting and story like. I did exactly this and got an A.
Prof. Dunn is AWESOME! I didn't even like history before I took his class last semester! You should definitely come to class because you need the notes to pass the class! You'll probably like going to class though!! Basically, if you need to take history 17A, TAKE THIS CLASS!!
This class is just long lectures and note taking. His exams are hard and have essay portions. There are quizzes every week online.
No textbook so everything is based on his lectures, but he definitely knows his material. Enjoyed the class even though history isn't very interesting for me. Would recommend him!
There is no textbook which is great. Tests are based on lectures. Miss a day of letures and you will be lost. Quizzes are based on readings that he post online. Tests and quizzes are difficult. Studying multiple times still did not help me.
Prof Dunn was a great teacher. The class itself was all based on lecture. However, he does not have a monotone voice and I was able to stay awake through all of them this semester. The tests are straightforward from the lecture, SO SHOW UP EVERYDAY! the 2 papers are based on the books. He does not grade the essays easy - but I recommend this class.
He's okay
He is a very nice guy and his lectures are actually interesting. BUT! Don't let that fool you into taking the class. His tests are impossible. Pop quizes often. And extremely hard grader on the two papers. No text book so attendance is mandatory. I studied like crazy for this class and still didnt pass. I would not recommend him at all
He moves really fast in his lectures. Tries to cram way too much info into one day. 10 quizzes from reading in the text book, pretty straight forward. 2 exams and a final. Hard class, but if you go to lecture you'll pass.
He is really calm, clear, and attentive to your needs. Dont be afraid to speak up, he will repeat stuff. Class attendance is mandatory. The exams are pretty hard, pay attention to small details. Those are what he quizzes you on.
If you hate history, he's a good professor to take. His lectures are very interesting (story-like). But tests are hard, I put sooo much time into studying for this class and still did bad. But if you're a good test taker he will be perfect. He does 10 reading quizzes, and 3 tests. Also if you're struggling, he will do everything to help you pass.
The best professor ever!!! I hate history, but I really enjoyed his lectures. When you study for tests, don't just remember facts, but connect them to larger ideas, understand, and be able to recall the info. I understood this too late. If you have questions, never fear to go and ask him, he will help trust me. I have to say that I loved his class.
He lectures too fast, offers no power-points online or anything. He just talks the whole time. There's no textbook to study from so you need to take notes. He has weekly quizzes based off of a reading he puts online every week. His exams are tricky. I wouldn't really recommend him.
He is a great professor and super passionate about what he teaches. Attendance is not mandatory but if you do miss class you will miss a lot of important class notes that are very important for test and can not be found in the textbook. All he talks really fast so i recommended a recorder.
Professor Dunn moves way too fast in his lectures. If you miss a class, you miss so many important details, which will screw you over on tests. His tests are incredibly hard, no matter how hard you study. He is passionate about history, but teaches it in the wrong ways. I tried so hard in this class, and still did bad.
He's great! I've been receiving an A in his class all semester, no issues. The best way to get the information is to type it since he does talk fast. All you need to do in order to get an A on his exams is to go over the study guide the night before. All the answers are in your notes.
Loved this teacher! Even though I was never interested in history. Exams are based on lecture, and weekly quizzes based on reading. He is really nice and grades really easy. But he talks a lot, and he knows thats, so he allows you to record audio during his lectures.
He's super into his lectures. He quoted JayZ once, like come on. Its a fun class. text book only used for weekly quizzes. Finals are based on notes you take. half multiple choice & half esssay. Suggest you record the lectures, makes life easier.
I was not excited to take a history class prior to this, but Dunn got me interested! He made historical events so relatable, and went deeply into the "why" of everything. He's very passionate and definitely knows his stuff. Very helpful as well. The weekly quizzes add up more than you think, so prepare for those definitely. I would take him again!
Awesome professor! The structure and size of the class might seem intimidating at first, but is lectures (organized well), study guides (a little vague, but mostly helpful), and exams are consistent with each other, so as long as you listen during lectures and review, you'll do fine if not great! Also, read the textbook closely and take notes!
What a roller coaster this class was. Be sure to ALWAYS attend his class. He'll let you record his lectures bc there are a lot of information. 8 book quizzes (yes, you'll have to read the book (and buy/rent) and take good notes because the questions(5) he post are very in depth), 1 midterm, and a Final which is not cumulative(50 questions).
This class is not the easiest. Professor Dunn is a good speaker and his lectures not bad. He won't take roll but attendance is mandatory if you want to pass. Exams are based off lecture. Quizzes on an inconsistent weekly basis that come from the textbook. Take good notes so you can do the study guides well and you will do fine.
LOVE THIS PROFESSOR! Exam's are based on lectures; quizzes on the textbook. Exams are multiple choice and essay. Attend EVERY DAY or you'll miss important info. Take good notes and study them and you'll do fine. I loved how he focused on the bigger picture and why people did what they did. His last lecture was so inspiring, I almost cried.
First semester of college i took this professor and i must say every lecture was well organized and he made it sound like a story. Which made me interested. Must record or take note all the time or you fail simple.
I would not take a class again with this teacher! His test questions are rediculious and when he gives you an essay question he means essay. Full five paragraghs as well as multiple coice questions on top of that in under an hour ime frame.
He is the absolute worst. I am a good student but failed his class. I went to every class, took notes, and read for the quizzes but still the hardest class. AVOID TAKING!!!!
Not an easy class but if you try then you can do well. His tests and quizzes are on the connections between historical events not just memorization. Very helpful when you go to his office hours for extra help.
This professor is amazing. His lectures are so organized that it is almost like he's telling a story. He keeps his lectures interesting and concise. Make sure to record his lectures since he talks a lot. Taking notes by hand is useless, have a computer with you. The tests were tough(essay part), but fair. There are 8? quizzes based on the reading.
He is a great professor, but his style of teaching is awful! He lectures all class period and speaks super fast. His tests are ridiculous and gives 8 quiz short answers. The questions on the quiz's are super hard. There are 5 quiz questions and makes you read about 20-30 pages on the book on crap load of information. It's plain dumb and pointless.
While professor Dunn makes lectures interesting, sitting in a class for 1hr & 15mins listening to American Indian problems, slavery, ect. gets a little overwhelming. A lot of (useless) information is told, and I ended up writing at least 3 pages, front and back, each class. 3 exams, no "final". 8 quizzes. Tests & quizzes are extremely difficult.
Professor Dunn lectures the whole entire time. I did not find this class very interesting at all and I loved history until this class and have always done well previously to this class. He talks on and on during class and your grade is 3 tests and 8 reading quizzes on about 15-20 pages of reading and 2-5 questions ONLY. VERY specific questions!!
His tests are hard. The study guide didn't help. Lecture is what makes up the Exam. He talk a lot and really fast. Its hard to write everything down he says. He is very confusing professor, and its really hard to well in his class.
The professor is tough grader. His study Guide does not help. His test mostly comes from Lecture. His talk during lecture the whole time and expects us to write on what he says. He needs to change his teaching style.
Great lectures, quizzes are on reading, tests are on lectures. The tests can be tough go to class and take good notes and you'll pass.
Prof Dunn is probably one of the best lecturers you will find at Sac State in any subject, not just history. He lectures are more like he's telling a story than anything, and he rarely ever goes off topic. He doesn't take attendance but you MUST TAKE NOTES or get them if you miss class, exams are mostly from notes, while quizzes are from book
One of the best teachers I have had at Sac State. You can tell he is really passionate about what he lectures on and enjoys it. His lectures are like stories that you can follow and generally relate to! His test are literally exactly his notes which is really nice and his study guides tell you what topics to study. Overall exceptional prof.
Professor Dunn was awesome. He is super passionate about the subject which makes you appreciate the class. I love the fact that he has no power points and just lectures verbally because it makes you really pay attention.
Dunn is am amazing professor. He is so passionate about this subject which makes it enjoyable for students. When he lectures it is smooth and tells it like a story instead of facts after facts with choppiness. Taking notes is very important, so make sure you show up to class and take notes. I totally recommend.
Great Professor but have to go to class everyday if want to understand the test. only 3 exams and 8 quizzes. Quizzes are base on the book so if you read and take notes on the book or understand it you will be fine. Tests are based on lectures and just a little on the book. No finals just 3 exams.
His lectures were NOT boring at all! He would make them seem as an interesting story. Test are tough. He answers all questions. Good feedback on tests. Skip class? You will not know when you had to take quizzes andor tests . Lectures were not online, it was just an outline on what he was going to give the lecture on that day. Awesome Professor!
Prof. Dunn is awesome at History! Makes it fun for a student who doesn't find History appealing. Keep up with the reading and attend class. If you miss class, be sure to get notes from neighbors. My only disagreement with his methods is his attendance policy. It's too strict and can really mess up your grade. I manage a B but should've gotten an A
Although Prof. Dunn is a nice person and passionate about history, his class is extremely difficult. His lectures last the entire period, and you must take notes. You need to stay on top of the reading. Also: go to class always because attendance affects your grade greatly. His tests were hard; he grades very specifically on essays.
Man, Dunn is sure passionate at history! So passionate I think he forgets to get back down and level with us! I went to every class, took crazy amount of notes, and read and even then, the tests sometimes just would not make sense. Always just had to find "the best choice" sigh, regret taking this class!
Exams are based off lectures, which are very intriguing! As long as you take decent notes, you'll do well on those. Quizzes are based off readings in the book BUT THEY ARE SO HARD and a big part of your grade (it was the downfall of mine). Getting an A is difficult but passing is doable if you TRY, can't pass by just showing up.
Tests were very hard, expect to study ALOT!!! Talks way too fast, he is not very clear.
I get the mixed reviews. He is a great lecturer but since its never with powerpoints, it will definitely seem intimidating. His book quizzes are short and tricky, even if you do read. Definitely record his lectures, or write/type as much and as fast as you can. It will help you on study guide. He is always willing to help if you ask.
All PPTs and long lectures. Take good notes and study, you'll be fine on the exams. Quizzes and homework are really what get you down. Homework answers have to be thoughtful in that you guess the answer (that you haven't learned yet) correctly to get full points. Quizzes are based on readings, so read carefully and a lot for the little details.
If you want to sit and get lost in lecture, then this is the professor for you. He is very to the book and rambles the entire class while presenting a very dry powerpoint he does not post online. I went to his office hours more than once and stopped once he said "Maybe this class is not meant for you."
He is an amazing lecturer! By far my favorite professor this semester! He gives short quizzes every once in awhile based on the book but its always around 10 pages. He is very passionate about history and funny. Attend class or else you will be missing a lot of information and he is tough on attendance. Attend office hours for help.
Avoid if possible. Expect lots of notes and boring lectures where he rambles forever. Required to go to class to pass and his tests are incredibly hard
He is totally amazing. Quizzes are in groups too, so they are super easy.
He is my favorite professor by far. Test question come straight from the lectures so there are no tricks. Take good notes and come to class and you will get an A. You can tell he really loves history and teaching.
He is very knowledgeable and very nice. Not much hw except a few online and hw due every Friday. He doesn't take roll but Fridays are group days so your roll and points are counted there. He is understanding about turning in late, and gives out good study guides. Only 3 exams. Easy and clear online material. Not much work just show up and listen.
Enjoyed his lectures they were very clear and interesting. If you are there and you listen you would understand. He gives multiple choice test and essay queations. He is also very great in his field and is enthusiastic about his lectures.
Professor Dunn is very passionate about history and is a great lecturer. The only problem that I had was that he doesn't use power points all that much. He has visuals but they don't contain much information. The tests and quizzes are all based off his lectures. Don't skip class and make sure you write down pretty much everything he says.
Professor Dunn is an awesome professor and if you put in the effort, you will do well. The MC questions come directly from his lectures and he gives you a study guide to prepare. So long as you take really good notes and spend time studying, you will have no problem getting an A. He wants you to do well and is there for you if you need extra help.
Anyone saying that this professor rambles is clearly not cut out for higher education. I have the attention span of a goldfish and this man keeps my engaged for the entire class period. His expectations are very clear and if you show up and take good notes, you WILL do well in his class. Amazing professor and very passionate about teaching.
Professor Dunn is an enthusiastic lecturer. You can really tell that he cares. He is really engaged when he talks. He can get a little off topic by not keeping with his lecture outline and the way he words his quizzes can be a little confusing, but overall great professor. Passed with an A and never read.
I really enjoyed taking his class. His lectures were interesting and easy to understand. His only assignments was reading a few documents per week. Great professor, really loves teaching history.
Three tests two midterms and the final. Homework is weekly and based on primary source documents which are very interesting and give you a better feeling of how it was to live back then. He is lecture heavy but keeps it interesting. His exams are based on his lectures and require studying! Don't plan on missing this class or you wont pass.
Easy class to pass if you do the readings and attend the lectures. Doesn't use a regular text book but uses a book of historical essays that connect well with the lecture.
I'm glad I chose Prof Dunn. It is a lecture class and he lectures the hour and 15 minutes and doesn't use powerpoint notes but, his enthusiasm makes the lectures very interesting. His tests are just based off the lecture so GO TO CLASS and write good notes. He gives weekly quizzes based on the HW/reading. He is also very willing to help b4 tests.
Definitely recommend this teacher!! However, it would be very difficult for you to pass this class without attending regularly because his lectures are not online. He speaks from memory only referencing an outline of the day and you take notes as he speaks. If you like that teaching style like I do, this is a no brainer!
He's a great professor and I appreciate his organization. He grades you off of attendance, weekly written or m/c quizzes based of off reading he gives to you, and also a few exams. Go to class and pay attention you'll learn loads.
I had him in a huge lecture hall and the class in SOLELY based on quizzes & tests.
His lectures were great, but he is a hard grader. He also seems to favor students.. He wants students to go during office hours to discuss about their grades and to get recently done quizzes. His quiz and test questions didn't make much sense. Be prepared to be quizzed every week. There will be 3 tests (Multiple Choice & Essay).
His lectures are heavy, and class is pretty much mandatory. His questions on the test and quizzes are solely from the lectures. There are 3 tests (2 midterms & 1 final w/ essay), and a quiz EVERY week. The questions on his quizzes and tests are pretty confusing. Wouldn't recommend this class at all.
Best history teacher here. This guy really enjoys what hes talking about which sometimes gets him off topic. But other than that easy A
Robert Dunn does a lot of lectures, and he does not post the lectures online. You are basically required to go to class if you want to pass because all of the exams are based on the lectures. His presentation slides don't even have any words on them to copy, so you REALLY need to listen when he is lecturing and TAKE NOTES!
Dunn's lectures are interesting and engaging. he takes roll and if you don't show up. YOUR SCREWED. He has quizzes on readings from textbook. His exams are straight from in class lectures. He also is strict on phones and attendance. The class itself is interesting and a class I enjoyed. I also like he always will answer my questions.
Dunn was one of my favorite professors here. If youre good at history, youll pass like no big deal. But if youre not, youre screwed. Theres a lot of reading involved and sometimes he would talk too fast during lecture. I recommend visiting his office hours for extra help because sometimes he gives you the answers to the homework and quizzes
By far the best professor Ive ever had! You can tell he really has a passion for history and passes it on to all his students. He made me realize how much i loved history so I 100% recommend this professor!
Prof Dunn is great. His lectures are interesting, but get ready to write a lot. There are almost weekly quizzes on primary sources form a text book, but they are usually discussed and explained in class. The tests consists of 25 multiple choice, and an essay, all form the lectures. Not a class you can skip, but its worth it.
Dunn has weekly quizzes on really complicated readings, and the quizzes on them are even harder. 2 Exams and 1 Final, all based on lectures. These tests are 25 MC questions, and one essay question. He is very tough on grading the essays so make sure you answer the prompts correctly. Who ever has to take him GOOD LUCK..
I am so glad I took this class. His lectures are amazing and he makes the subject so interesting. There are weekly quizzes from the readings and two midterms and a final based on the lectures. Take lots of notes! As long as you come to class and do the readings that he assigns, you will easily pass.
Professor Dunn is super passionate in his lectures, so I think that is why he talks fast and jumps from topic to topic. Its hard to catch up to him sometimes so recording the lectures is a MUST. He pretty much just goes over the readings he posts/assigns online. The quizzes are super easy if you just read them.
This professor is extremely difficult. He speaks very fast that recording lectures might be a good idea. 10 quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 final and 1 participation grade. Tests are extremely difficult as well. Lectures are not posted online so attendance is mandatory. Overall, if you can avoid the professor it would be a good choice.
He is one of the rudest professors I have ever encountered. He is very old school. I looked down to read my notes and he yells at me saying if you want to sleep dont sleep in my class. Also, the other day I took a break from writing notes, looks at me in the eye and says you might pass one test if you actually take notes while others arent.
Great Professor. Wants you to succeed.
Dunn was a great teacher. He lectured the whole session though, so recording is a must. Quizzes were given often based off of readings from the book. He provided questions to answer that reflected the readings. He was also eager to help if you did nit understand the readings. Overall, the class was an easy A if you put the work in.
He is very good at talking about the interesting aspect of history. Does not make you memorize facts; you just need to be able to form an opinion and analyze the events. Notes are not necessary to pass. But listening to lectures is very beneficial.
Readings once a week and then a quiz on the readings, 2 exams and a final. Professor is a fair grader and wants you to succeed. He encourages participation and notices if you try in the class. He is passionate about the subject and makes the lectures very interesting.
