I found this guy to be very bright, articulate and sometimes funny. He expects a lot from the students, but prepares his course material well. The course can be hard, but I found it to be worthwile. I recommend taking any course taught by this professor.

An easy grade if you read the book. Lectures can be boring at times but the info can be helpful if you are not in the field. Accent wasn't a problem after hearing it for a day. Sometimes wastes your time though. He needs to prepare better for each class so you don't sit around waiting for him to fix something.

Great Professor. Mid & Final Exams are not that easy but if you study well you should score good. Home-Work & Quizzes are extra credit & this helps a lot to get a good grade. But study well as the questions in the exams can get a bit confusing. He's very helpful. Had no problem with his accent. Learnt a lot & would highly recommend him for ITE 115.

Very good teacher. The class is easy, although his midterm and finals are pretty hard. He lets you use the programs(word, excel, access, and powerpoint) for the tests and quizzes. DO THE HOMEWORK! I think by just doing the Homework, my grade went up TWO GRADES!!!

Took this class with him once a week. There was a midterm and final tests, a few small quizzes, and lots of extra credit!! Go to class and participate, and you will get an A for sure! I didn't study much for the exams,but still got an A for the semester.

Professor Dusek is a very approachable professor. Read the book before class, take notes, and study the outlines he gives you for tests. Quizzes are difficult, but if you take notes in class, you should do okay. He is very willing to help and answer questions. You must study, study,study for tests!

Great teacher, he really loves IT. If you are an Information Technology nut like I am then you will get along with him fantastically. I spent a lot of time out of class just chatting with him about the industry. If anything he helped expand my love for the industry. As for new students, read the book, listen, love the subject and you will succeed.

I enjoyed his class and he has a deep knowledge of the subject. If you screw up he gives ample chances to make some bonus/makeup points. It's not the most exciting material but he does the best with what he has to teach. He was engaged and seemed to enjoy teaching it.

Great Professor! Very helpful when needing help. However, even though attendance is not mandatory you really should attend class because you cover a lot of information that will be asked on quizzes or practical projects which are hard. You will use your text book for outside studying. Overall great class!

Robert is a Great man from Prague, CR who has a passion for Information technology and it shows! He does retain a little bit of his accent but if you pay attention and ask him to clarify, he will be happy to do so. Robert Dusek is one of the best professor at NOVA. His ITN 100 class is hard but he do his best to make it easy for the student. Alot of extra credit. Quizzes are online and there are group quizzes in the class as well. First few weeks I didn't understand anything. But after days when he starts the signal stuff, that was fun. He's best.

Dusek is a great professor, my favorite parts include applying your knowledge towards things such as the extra credit. If you just show up without reading the book without prior knowledge, you're probably not going to pass. If you know a decent amount of the subject of the class, and know how to Google extensively, you likely won't need the book.

Professor Dusek had an exceptional outline for the course and correlated it well with the text, giving students helpful links to other sources to go along with the chapters we were working on. Quizzes and exams were on what we had studied and were fair.

I took this professor for a summer course and i'm glad i did. He made the computer class enjoyable and explained things well. Did'nt get mad when students asked him to repeat past material. Helps anyone that asks for it and bases his review on questions that were missed by a good portion of the class.

Took this class during the summer 6-week course. Very great professor. Teaches the material well and is patient with students. Also very hilarious. I recommend doing the quizzes with a study group.

There is a lot to learn within windows, with program names, commands, location etc. Taking the class without any computer knowledge really may prove difficult. But if you go to class, do the work which isn't that bad you will really learn a lot about windows. Little chapter quiz every week, in class assignments. Do them, you'll be fine.

Professor Dusek really knows his stuff when it comes to the computer sciences. His quizzes can be tricky to understand, but he tries to word them in the same manner as industry certifications which is actually very helpful. Grade is composed of weekly quizzes, in-class extra credit, and the two exams. Not a lot contributes to the grade, so everything counts.

There are quizzes on blackboard due every class so doing the homework is important, especially because the midterm and final borrow questions from them.

He is not just reading the slides word for word he explains them from actual knowledge. HW usually consisted of 1 online quiz a week. Professor Dusek is an educated and experienced teacher whose course is carefully planned and outlined in a detailed syllabus. Class typically covers concepts from take-home quizzes, followed by in-depth lectures with presentations explaining those concepts, and a hands on lab to practice them. He is very helpful if you don't understand, just ask.

Takes a weedout clsss (I guess the polite term is gateway) and makes it accessible. All you have to do is show up, pay attention, do the work. Additionally, there are generous opportunities for extra credit. Do not pass by any extra credit. Youre a fool if you do. The material can be tough. Prof. Dusek makes it fun.

I took an Introductory Telecommunications course with him in 2018. Despite the fact that I came from a completely different field, the lectures were clear and his method of teaching leaves you with a very strong foundation. Grading was pretty much in line with what was listed in the syllabus, and he was very generous with extra credit!

One thing I have to say with Professor Dusek is that he is ready to help you if you are willing to learn. The IT world is brutal and he prepares you for the hands on and written exam very well. It is imperative that you attend class for any great student and be prepared to learn. Complete you weekly quiz, complete your labs , exams and success.

It was a great pleasure having professor Dusek teach me during this course. He has a very extensive knowledge on the topic so I never had to worry about getting lost. If you're familiar with Windows, it's a cakewalk. If you're not, just show up and complete the labs and do the HW. He shows you step by step on how to do the labs and answers questions clearly if asked. For the tests, just review the HW. Extra credit is also offered.

If you are taking any IT/CS class and Dusek is teaching it, take it. He wants students to succeed. While he might be slight stricter than some and a tough grader, he works with you to get a good great and learn. He offers extra credit in forms of "take home labs". I would definitely take him again.

Professor Dusek makes learning and class participation very inviting. His focus is on the students taking the class lecture and applying it to hands-on to understand the class material. He is very fair if you show you are trying and engage in class.

Professor Robert Dusek is an excellent professor, very enthusiastic which helps grasp the material. If you go to class and do the homework needed you will pass the class. The quizzes are not that hard, you will find everything just reading the textbook and going over the notes. Do the extra credit. I highly recommend him, he is great!!!!

Take any class with this teacher if you are planning on learning something. If you just want to copy & paste from quizlet, this is not for you. If you submit your homework on time and attend to class, you will pass with A. I had taken more than 1 class with him, and I would take more if I could.

Robert Dusek is one of the most memorable professor at Nova! I wish I heard about him sooner. He is a professor who has great lectures! And what is more important knows what he is talking about, from his own hands on experience. It was excellent class!

The 6-week format moves quickly b/c it is an accelerated format. If you keep up w/ Mindtap, do the h/w, and show up to class, you'll get an A. Everything is provided for you: the syllabus, quizzes, and exams. Do the work and you will pass! Dusek responds to email promptly & answers any questions you may have. Would take him again, versed in IT!

Prof. Dusek is one of the few profs. at NOVA that actually cares about his students. He is very direct with his expectations and his classes are fun, even though they are virtual. He shows examples related to the topics covered and he ALWAYS willing to explain again.

Prof. Dusek is one of the best professors I've ever had. He assigns a good amount of HW but that helps you to understand better the material. There are many unfair posts here. As long as you do your assignments on time and pay attention to the classes (in which he gives hints for quizzes and exams), you will do great in this class.

If you are ready to put effort and really study, prof Dušek is a great choice. He encourages students to think critically, not just read the material and learn terms. Quizzes and exams are challenging, but for your own benefit. Very clear organization in canvas and responds to emails fast. He tends to go off the topic at times though.

This was a tough class with a ton of reading, homework and labs. Prof. Dusek made the subject matter come to life during the weekly online classes with his extraordinary historical and context knowledge , and walking us through how to research on the web. ALWAYS available for questions by email or office hours. He was patient and humorous.

Professor Dusek is great. He gave a lot of homework for us to practice and learn. He responded to the email very quickly when we needed. He was a hand-on helper in zoom meeting when I needed him. He is fair with the homework and grading. I will take more classes with him if I have a chance.

There is a lot of reading & quizzes in this class. However, Professor Dusek is caring & grades the coursework fairly. He also responds to emails in a timely manner & gives a ton of extra credit opportunities. Overall, he's a good professor.

Dusek is a pretty good teacher! I took an accelerated course with him, and although it was super difficult (btw do NOT recommend taking 7 week classes) he worked with us and even bumped my grade at the end. He tends to talk a lot and gives too much detail which can get boring, but is perfectly fine with you working during it. I really recommend :D

Dusek is a great professor. Quizzes are difficult but grading is fair. They were difficult because he makes you think (imagine that! a college course where you have to think rather than just copy answers straight from a book). Yes, the midterm and final were timed but that's because they are open book/notes. He even gave a holiday bonus at the end!

Some students don't anything assignments for the class so they give some bad feedback for professors. But in my opinion, he is very very excellent teacher that i have taken. He shows steps by steps that make sure you can pass the assignment. Highly recommend

He is a great guy. He is not mean at all a lot of the low ratings are people who are upset that they got a bad grade. He actually cares about his students. I'm taking him next semester. In order to get the A for this class, making sure that you are ready for working hard. Using the logical method to pass his exams. His techniques are very smart. Making sure you are smart enough to deal with his lecture.

Do not miss the weekly Quiz! Ideally, he likes to post them on Thursday night when you sleep. Yet he will email you an hour before it's due on Tuesday morning. His quizzes require 1-2 hours, depending on how much you understand the material.

I took ITN100 virtual class with Professor Dusek. I loved this class! The material is difficult, I would say that. But if you come to every class, listen, and use class time to study, then you would not have to spend time studying outside of the class hour. R. Dusek is intelligent, caring, and hilarious! Professor Dusek is really funny and humble. He loves IT so much he can go 2-3 hours straight in a lecture without stopping and he gives such thorough explanations on concepts. If you're willing to put in the work, attend class regularly and learn from your mistakes you can pass with an A or B but it's not "easy". Having prior experience helps a ton

Great Professor and a nice personality. Linux was mainly taught through the Cengage Lab environment and some Brigante problems. He goes over most of the material in class, just study the chapters and look at the study guides for the Midterm/Final because they're helpful guidelines. Clear grading criteria, mostly just lab assignments

I wanted to learn Linux and I did. the professor had an ingenious way of getting us to revise, and gave us credit for doing extra work. IF you work you will get the grade. BUT you will have to work.

Awesome ITN170 class with Professor Dusek. He's kind, friendly, thorough and informative, and super funny. He talks a lot but I found it to be fun -- more fun than a dull, boring lecture. Very knowledgeable professor and pretty lenient on grading. LOTS of homework and projects but most are fairly simple and straightforward. Easy A if you try.

This is very smart intelligent, helpful supported. He is clear. He try to give a practical knowledge.

Prof. Dusek is great. He's the only ITN professor I have had that actually used material covered in lecture or Cengage in our tests. I'm pretty sure my other ITN professors pulled random parts of the CompTIA tests. He has a lot of good stories that keep class interesting. Be prepared to spend a lot of time on Cengage as he assigns a lot of modules.

Good teacher best to talk to him after class with questions. Also communicates outside of class well. Lots of people were just on their phones during class which is why you don't do well in class. Gives you opportunity to redo the mindtap material even if its past the due date. Would take again.

He's clear with direction and gives you all the tools you need for success. If you read his syllabus thoroughly and take him and the class seriously, you will also get an A. Don't join this class thinking you can do all the work in the last week.

He is very knowledgeable about the topics and gave lots of information that I found useful. One thing to keep in mind is that he does talk for a while and gives lots of information to process in a day, I would recommend taking one of his classes at a time. Although, attendance is not mandatory and you can do the class all from the textbook.

He was actually pretty chill, good lectures and taught the stuff well, would def take his class again if the it does come again, not too much homework but a lot of long and time consuming labs.

If you're taking your time at NOVA seriously and want to make the most of your time, you need to get in with him. I leave his classes knowing the information and have a great time learning it. Do the work on time, follow his direction and show up to class, you'll thank me later. This was my 2nd time taking him and I'm enrolled again next semester.

He is understanding and gives a grade curve of 4/5 points although I personally didn't get nor need it, for others who tried and showed effort he gave it after the final.

Professor Dusek is one of the coolest professors. He is very chill, and as long as you do all of your assignments, you should be able to ace his classes. Any time I had trouble with an assignment or hand on project, he helps me right away and shows me where the error happens. He likes to joke a lot and it always puts the class in a good mood.

One of the best professors i have had at nova. great teaching, I took 106 and 107 with him. Do not expect to find answers on quizlet which is GREAT. Many hands on projects that reinforce your learning. Pay attention, show up, ask questions, do hw, and you will get an A, all take home quizzes some fairly hard and can be time consuming. For a 6 week course it was a lot of material to cover but he takes his time to go over everything, he answers questions, appreciates participation, cares about his student's success! He can ramble sometimes but he's very lighthearted and as long as you do your assignments in a timely manner you will pass.

He is a good teacher if you are ready to work extra hard special in exam than you should take his class. You have to work hard for grades in this class.

I took this course async and it was extremely tough. The course is really heavy on the textbook. The course was basically revolving around two tests; with labs and similar work being basically meaningless to your grade. I wish there was more material and test review provided by the teacher themself. Maybe it is the nature of the course though.
