He is very helpful and encourageing. Although I don't always enjoys the class, he is a good teacher. He was also a very fair marker.

Dr. Einarsson once launched into a 30 minute rant about how it was so great that Bill Clinton was impeached for the whole Monica Lewinsky thing. He also laughs like a cross between Mr. Rogers and Dr. Evil. If you can handle that, this guy is good prof. :)

Probably one of the most kindest teachers I have met...so considerate of everyones opinions and thoughts & will be right there to help you if you need it. Yea, his lectures are a bit dull, but that's just english for ya. He'll let you go early on Fridays!

I thought Robert was a good teacher who obviously enjoys what he is teaching. Very nice guy, and debate classes were fun! You need to attend class because everything on the tests is what is talked about in class.

You can tell he loves English with all his heart but he's kind of all over the place. His marking is inconsistant but he'll help you if you need it. He tells you exactly what is on the exam and what he wants you to study.

I thought he was a great prof. You have to attend class though. Take notes on what he says about the literary pieces, as that's exactly what he'll test on. Make sure you review your notes and the short stories before class. Pretty easy marker.

Amazing love him

Bob was compelling enough to make me contemplate minoring in English. He is passionate about literature, and will dare you to be too. Sadly, as English 103 is a mandatory course, a lot of students won't take him up on that. Encourages discussion and critical thinking. This is a writing-intensive course, with some challenging reading.

Very nice and knowledgeable guy. He will help u with anything whether it be in person or email. There is no midterm or final for his class, and only 1 large essay, however there are several journals. Gives a fair amount of EASY homework!

Lectures are dry but hey its english what can you expect. Will help you with your writing and really help you develop skills. I was never very good at writing but Bob really helped me. He is always willing to spare some time to help you with a paper and assignment. Great prof! Wish i could have him again

Bob is an amazing, funny, sweet prof. You can tell he wants his student to do well. Im terrible at english and ill finish with at least a B, with not much effort put into that at all. This class is a GPA BOOSTER for anyone who puts in the effort. Easy assignments (if you attend class). I would take him for every English class if I could.

Bob is an amazing prof. He wants his students to perform their best! Normally I can't even get beyond a C in English however I ended this semester with a B. I went to less than half of the classes, got my assignments done, and was still able to do decent without putting much effort in. Imagine how you could do if you put effort into it!

Bob is a really amazing professor. As an international student, my English is my weakness, but I still got B+ in his class. Feel free to ask him questions and he will help you out. You can get B as long as you put a little effort.

Though very monotone, was a great instructor. Barely have to do anything in his class and he marks pretty easy. Not good with responding to emails if you have questions but very helpful in person. I highly suggest taking ENGL 102 with him.

i took Eng 102 and 103 with him and he's amazing! English has been my weakest subject my whole life and he really helped me out and supported me. his lectures are pretty dry but pay attention and write down what he says. i aced both eng 102 and 103. great class!

Awesome prof, engaging lectures and answered any questions asked in class and would stay after class to answer more questions. No surprises on the final, it was all things that were covered in class. Very fair grading, if you try your best you will pass with flying colors!

LOVED THIS CLASS! Very easy class but also very productive and rich in learning. There is no finals or midterms just 3 essays, a quiz and a crossword puzzle you have to do and that's it. Don't even use a textbook unless you wanted to learn more in depth but it wasn't mandatory. To be honest you can pass without attending as long as you did theessay

Surprisingly, most of the content this teacher offered seemed to be from himself and not a textbook. Because of this, you get a quality English class that will offer a different perspective on the subject compared to most cookie cutter teachers out there. He rewards doing the work and you will not do bad if you comply. Genuinely interesting class.

Bob was one of the nicest profs on campus. He has a definite passion for teaching and wants all of his students to succeed. I hated english before coming to his class, and he taught me a great deal on how to actually write an essay. Bob is the best!

Bob is by far the best university prof ever! I had him for both English 102 and 103. For every essay, he would read mine over and give me feedback. I haven't met another prof who had this kind of time and passion for his students success. What a great first year!

Bob is a passionate professor. That is probably his most valuable trait. He works harder than any other professor that I've ever had to make the class interesting and provide you with a unique learning experience. he has a stream of consciousness teaching style that can make him hard to follow, but once you've adapted to this his classes are easy.

I was an awful english student in high school however this guy certainly fixed my issues. I found his lectures very interesting. Gives you everything you need to do well and is very clear. His feedback is great!! I thought he was never unfair or mean with marking or what he asks of students. Definitely would have him again!!

Awesome teacher. His classes were a little dry but he knew exactly what he was doing and taught us exactly how to execute what he wanted from us. He will teach you precisely how to word, and argue your opinion in regards to the subject matter and his assignments. He marks, and weighs things very fairly. Unintentionally hilarious. No final exam.

AMAZING ENGLISH PROFF!

If I had the chance to take him again, I would. His class do require a bit of prep work, and I will need to bring something to put loose papers in. He makes everything that he expects from you crystal clear, and he has been teaching English long enough to know when you try to cut corners. He wants you to succeed, but to succeed to right way. SUCH a nice man. I find his lectures difficult to follow (boring) and long (boring) but he is super helpful and also marks pretty easy. I went to about half of his classes but got As on all of his assignments. No midterm. Written final. You could learn a LOT from this class if you listen, but will do fine no matter what.

Bobby E is the best prof at MacEwan or any other school. Love this guy. VERY helpful, gives good feedback, likes when you participate, easy marker, very lenient. Become friends with him and you'll be set. Only problem is his classes tend to feel longer than they are. Most classes are boring, but just try to participate and you'll do fine! Easy A

All throughout high school I highly disliked english and was not looking forward to this class. Bob is amazing! He is very passionate and makes you interested in what is being taught. His lectures can feel long at times. Pretty fair marker, if you put in the work you'll get a good grade. Never felt overwhelmed with the class.

Anyone can tell Bob has a very good idea of what he's doing. Seems passionate about teaching, lectures can get a little boring, but there are participation marks so coming to class is a must. Lots of reading homework and writing assignments but what he expects of you is very clear. Inspirational prof.

Friendly and truly seems to enjoy giving lectures. Always answers questions clearly and concisely. Overall a dry course but he made it more tolerable. Doesn't update blackboard often but there are few assignments so just keep track of your marks as you get them handed back.

Really good prof. I was really bad at english assignments in high school but his instructions for his essays are really clear making it easier to get a better grade. The crossword quiz was easy as long as you know your words, he knows what he's talking about and the 50 minutes go by quick! Do show up for the participation marks!

I usually don't like english classes, but this professor made it tolerable. His lectures can be dry but when it comes to marking, he's fair and reasonable.

Robert is a great prof. You have to actually read the books but he's a fairly easy marker. He is a fast marker as well. The class wasn't too interesting but he made it bearable.

Pros: GREAT lectures. He's very passionate about English and languages in general. Very friendly and helpful. The assignments are all incredibly easy. Cons: Lots of reading. Most of it isn't necessary though. You'll probably have to spend 6-8 hours on reading something you'll never use again except for one question on the final. Would recommend!!!

Amazing prof. I hated English but he made me look forward to my class. Though his assignments can be vague, they're pretty easy and he is a very fair marker. His lectures went by fast for me. However, there are no notes online as he only talks about the material so going to class is a must. Highly recommend him.

I have learned more about English than I have in all the English classes in my life put together. I am not the greatest writer but on my two papers I got an A and an A+. I would suggest bringing a laptop to his class because he talks and expects you to know everything he says, but if you do that and review your notes you'll be solid.

Bob is a pretty good prof. He marks fair for the most part as long as you do what he asks. My biggest complaint is that he never gave much feedback on assignments. Also, he says "oookaay" in a very particular way all the time; you wont be able to focus on anything else once you notice it haha I almost laughed multiple times while counting them.

Amazing prof! I took him for both 102 and 103; he was so passionate about the subject that I had to take him for 103. His assignments are very unique but you can ask him for help. I definitely would recommend him for prospective students. Take his class, and consider it a GPA booster :)

As long as you attend class and take notes you should do well on the midterm, there is a lot of reading in 103, therefor a lot of outside of class work. He is not a crazy tough grader, with minimal effort as a mediocre English student I received a B+ (however attending class on the regular is important)

Super Nice Guy. Engl103 had 2 papers (one was a research paper). A midterm, which was in essay format. The final was broken down into two sections; 8 short answer, and an essay. Not the toughest grader, but you still have to put in work to do well. Stay on top of the readings throughout the year because they will play a crucial role on the final.

Very friendly, personable guy who cares about his students. Lectures were at times boring, and there is a lot of group work that seemed largely pointless. Feedback on assignments isn't too great; he doesn't really elaborate on where you made mistakes. However, I really enjoyed his class and he was approachable and pretty chill. Would recommend

Easy A with minimal required effort. Nice guy, pretty funny! Do not necessarily need to go to class, but he does recognize the fact that you do and will like you more if you participate. Your mark won't be any worse if you don't though. Flexible with deadlines. Keep up with the free-writes/readings! Fun class!

Overall a great guy. Funny, respectful, and genuinely cares about his students success. He can be a harder marker, but that really just stems from the fact that he doesn't clearly outline is grading criteria, so it's hard to meet. Two quizzes that are practically bonus marks if you study AT ALL and only two papers. Group discussions/participation!

This guy is very passionate about literature. He is a tremendous teacher and can actually make literature interesting (believe me, I hate English). 3 essays and a final are all that are graded. Final exam is 6 short answer & 1 long (no essay!!) and he told us what we needed to know. Bad part: essay topics were challenging. Very rewarding class!!!

Bob is a caring prof and his class is fairly simple. Most of the term was just doing group discussions. 3 written assignment, 2 small quizzes. I would take his class again, however I found his marking to be inconsistent and he gives very little feedback as to what you can improve. Very nice and helps you out when you talk to him!!

Solid prof, his sarcasm keeps lectures interesting even though the content can be pretty boring. Put relative effort into your assignments and you'll do just fine. Only used the textbook to read sample essays, so an online version will suffice. Clarify deadlines in person. Go to class when you can. Learn the lexicon, you'll be tested on every word.

Good guy and you can tell that he cares for his students. The only downside I noticed about him was his marking. Everything I handed in as well as others had received a consistent mark on every single assignment with hardly any feedback.

Rob was a great english prof. He made sure to always be accommodating to his students, and always answered emails quickly. If you read the course and assignment outlines you will do well. There is a participation journal that is graded, so I would say attend class.

Throughout the term, only had to three papers- a short summary, critical analysis and research paper and two short quizzes. Attendance is not mandatory, although freewrites are done in class so make sure to catch up on those, overall great prof 10/10 would recommend

Robert was great. He has three simple papers, although the initial instructions are quite vague, if you ask for clarification he will spend the time helping you figure it out. He is a fair grader and gives good feedback. His lectures can be dry, but he goes into a lot of detail about the readings so that you essentially don't need to read anything.

Bob is a pretty decent prof. Your grade is made up of a research paper, a short summary, critical analysis along with a couple quizzes. Overall straight forward with what he wants and seems to care about his students. Readings are pretty straight forward but he makes sure to go over them in class in good detail so show up and take notes.

Prof Einarsson was amazing honestly. I really enjoy English and I switched into his class very last minute and he was extremely welcoming and willing to help me get caught up. He gives alot of opportunities to ask for help, ask questions in general and he taught alot of useful skills. He was quite a 'dad' if you will, he had exceptional jokes lol.

Easy marker and only graded 4 papers including the final exam! Class lectures are informative and clearly breaks down every analysis but the lectures dont really relate to the essays we are graded for. Hands down one of the best English profs!!

This class was probably the easiest class I've ever taken (coming from a full-time science student). Essentially 40% of your grade is an easy 100 (20% attendance and participation and 20% free-write journal),then 3 research essays on any topic you want (20% each). Robert is a pretty easy marker, and as long as you put in some effort, you got an A.

Coursework was extremely easy. The class was great and Bob is a very chill and easy prof but I kind of get the feeling it's because he's just a little lazy. Some of the classwork seemed like just a way to kill class-time. If you tell him you don't understand why you got the grade you did he'll just bump it up without really giving any more feedback

Robert Einarsson is one of the best professors I've ever had at MacEwan. His ENGL285 class is super easy, it's a poetry reading class and is certainly a grade booster! Make sure you're okay with reading aloud though because a good chunk of your grade comes from reading poetry sonnets either in class or via recordings you make!

Brilliant man. Very responsive and provides engaging content. No midterms. A bulk of the grade came from participation and student recorded readings. We did have a final, but it was more of a reflective essay and students were given 3 days to work on it.

Such a sweet person! He was great for online learning. He is such an easy marker, I have never gotten such high marks ever in an English course! 30% of our mark was just participation and we only had 2 essays and a final. I didnt need to buy any books they were all provided to us. Super caring and encouraging could not recommend more! I LOVE HIM!!

I suck at English and managed to pull an A+ in his class. Probably didn't read my essay at the end of the term because no comments were ever given for improvement. Easy marker, however; doesn't explain formats of essay very well. Other than that he was good.

This was an easy class. There weren't any online lectures, only a bunch of discussion posts to make every week. You should expect to do a lot of reading. I didn't find most of the short stories to be interesting, so it was a little painful for me to get through.

Fair grader, valuable feedback. Passionate about the readings an analysis, having conversations in class is well worth the attendance. First professor in 4 years of Uni to drop assignments in the outline because of heavy course material. This is the best Professor I've ever had. He cares. Highly recommended.

honestly if you are thinking about who you want, and this man is one of your options - just please take my word for it and go with him. He is genuinely a caring dude and wants all his students to pass. Just show up and listen and you will be perfectly fine. Definitely deserves a raise - not alot of teachers left like this!

Honestly, I normally am not a good English student and he made me enjoy the class and the stuff I was learning. His expectations are clear and he gives great feedback. He definitely is one teacher that is caring and wants to see everyone succeed. He was easily my favorite professor at MacEwan. If you can, take him as your professor!

He was very nice and accommodating during COVID times, and regularly adjusted the course outline if he thinks it's too heavy. I would say that the discussion assignment is pretty confusing at first, but once you've done the first one, you will get the hang of it. He gives fair remarks and replies quickly.

Professor Einarsson is a gem. I have had about four classes with him now, and he is just phenomenal. He cares a lot about the material, but even more so, he cares about his students and their success. He is incredibly approachable and inspiring.

I loved Professor Einarsson's class. He took course content seriously but made sure to make class examples relatable and understandable. This class is writing heavy but in doing so I believe it helps make you a better writer for it. As long as you follow instructions and criteria (which are pretty clear) you should do well in this class.

Professor Einarsson was the first professor I've had that looked at the course load and removed discussion posts or extended assignment deadlines based on how he viewed the workload stress on students. You can tell he cares deeply about students, literature, and writing. If you see an opening to join his class - take it.

Dr. Einarsson was an amazing English prof in my opinion. I heard students complain about his teaching styles, but I personally found them very effective. He is clearly passionate about the material he teaches and responds to emails quickly and with great detail. His free write method helped me learn how to deal with writers block.

Doctor Robert is truly a caring and amazing English professor. Take this class for an easy A. My class was a hybrid so every Monday on our own time we would just read a New York Times article and respond to it on the forum. His essays are only body paragraphs which is nice for an introductory course, no high expectations!

Amazing prof. He did not make this course overwhelming at all. We did weekly opinion analysis and papers were very fair. He is also very forgiving and will allow you to take extra time for assignments and help right through it. Would definitely recommend him as a prof!

Had him last year, one of the best profs! We had weekly online discussions, 2 papers and one comprehensive final. Get ready to read and do expect to write a lot in the final too. The more you write the better. As long as you read and do the work, it would be an easy A. He really cares about his students too.

The course itself wasn't too hard but be ready to read weekly. He assigns New York Times article for you to analyze. He also understands that we are all broke and didn't make us buy expensive books but I had to get a subscription for NYT which is a couple bucks a month. In total 2 major essay and a summary. Take his class if you can and easy marker

I loved this class and this teacher. He took the time and knows how to explain his lectures very easily and really cares about students doing well. All his assignments were amazing if you love writing, id take his classes again if i get the chance

Very lovely person & pushes you to find the best in yourself. No textbooks, he compiled a detailed literary & grammatical handout for us & a temporary NYT subscription to buy. He gives us sensible writing & argument guidelines, then all you have to do is write with an open heart and mind. One of the most positive post-secondary experiences so far.

Super nice guy, very easy grader. 6 discussion posts, 2 1500 word reports and a final. Go in depth with your own interpretations of stories. He posts nothing online, and changes his length requirements for discussion posts often without telling anyone (he forgets what he initially said) so write more than he tells you. Dr. Einarsson is very amusing. Essays need no intro or conclusion and always write a bit more then the max word limit for a better grade. No final exam and no textbook just subscribe to the NYT and buy a duotang. 20% of grade is doing a daily free write. Doesn't post much, so write down info you're told to remember. Very intro friendly course.

Robert was a great professor, fair marker and very helpful. Essay criteria was very fair, and didnt expect much and gave lots of time to complete. Workload was light and easy, and was always available through email or office hours.

He adjusts deadlines based on workload, and will give us days off class to work on assignments; he even gave us a day off to relax! I really appreciate how down-to-earth and humble he is.

So far best English prof and cares for the students, don't forget to jot down the in class notes for the final.

Cares for students and pushes back deadlines for assignments if the load is "too heavy", which it never is anyways, if you show up to class he tells you exactly what to do on every assignment, sent out regular email reminders on what we should be doing and was a very easy marker, take this prof if you can!!!

Robert was a great professor and is really passionate about the stuff that he teaches. He marks pretty fairly on all your assignments and gives good feedback as well. He does not use any notes or slideshows to teach so attendance is mandatory and prepare to write everything he says. Overall an amazing professor.

Would take this class again any day, Robert is an amazing prof who cares deeply about both what he teaches and his students. He's also hilarious and makes lectures so enjoyable.

One of the nicest profs i've had a macewan. Easy grader, and caring. All assignments are fair and will give you extension if you need. He gives clear instructions. Take him trust me, Especially if you need English.

AMAZING! If you have strong writing skills and/or are a passionate/opinionated person, this class is the easiest class you will ever take. If you don't possess said traits, then you'll finish the semester having (hopefully) developed some strong writing skills! Peer reviewing was fun (surprisingly). I only went to half of the classes...

Amazing prof, super understanding guy, gives great feedback. One of the most enjoyable english courses I've ever had. Be ready to show up to class, as he assigns "freewrite journals" at the start of every class, based off a prompt he gives in class. You have to submit all of those journals at the end of the sem. Generous grader and super chill!

One of the best professors I've had this term, his workload isn't too heavy and if you show up to class you'd do great. 20% of your grade is freewriting on a topic he gives every class which isn't hard. One thing I would say is that he doesn't really email what he expects on assignments so you have to show up or ask someone in the class.

honestly the easiest class I have and he's so caring and accessible outside of class. He's helped me genuinely improve and his class is enjoyable. Perfect prof!!

I absolutely loved Dr Roberts English class and never once felt that I was under pressure for assignments. Very fair and easy marker and gave great feedback. There were 6 assignments ( 2 opinion editorial essays) worth marks and 2 discussion posts work 5% each. TAKE THIS CLASS HES AMAZINGG!!!

The BEST english prof hands down. The assignments were not hard (20% is a writing journal you do just by attending), he provides good feeback and is very passionate about the english language. If you can take him for any english course, and he will make sure its ennjoyable and accessible

This man is the best! He has a sense of humor, patient with his student's questions, and is a fair grader. Assigns some readings, such as essays to read, but none of them are difficult- literally do your best to read them and be able to discuss the content (and if you had questions, just ask him and he will help you!) Meets lots too for questions!

I liked Robert, probably the best English prof, my only issue is how much we had to read, and the lectures consist of him talking about the stories, which is really useful, just unbearably boring. He marks easy, but again, there's just so.much.reading. That's my only issue, otherwise an amazing prof

Great guy honestly but every class was repetitive with overview of short stories we had to read the day before and notes is definitely mandatory from what he says about the short stories - so class is mandatory, only thing that was tough was the shakespearean unit of 3 stories and was not engaging at all

He's a very easy marker for his small biweekly assignments and a chill guy overall, but get ready to read AND listen. his lectures feel super long because it's all discussing the short stories he makes you read, though pay attention and take notes because you HAVE to reference all of them in his final which is completely written on paper

Dr. Einarsson is easily one of my favourite professors!! His reading materials were always fascinating, and his lectures were clear, detailed, and engaging. He's incredibly kind and genuinely passionate about teaching. The class is enjoyable and very manageable if you attend regularly and take good notes, as he highlights what's important.

Nice guy, responds fast to emails, his classes are important tho lots of items on final will be from class, a fair amount of reading too

This is a wonderful Prof who explains things very well and all the assignments and papers we did we're always interesting. He loves English and we can all see that because he teaches it wonderfully.

Amazing prof, his assignments/exams were easy, it was all lecture stuff. Easy marker and made class engaging. Attendance wasn't mandatory but all of the stuff tested was from the lecture. He told you exactly what will be on the exams and did a "practise" with us. Would love to take him! Very sweet and has a few online (Async) days.

Such a nice prof, work is simple. Sometimes instructions were unclear and I was confused but overall he responds to questions.
