He was a very enjoyable prof to have.In the hour that we had the lab, he helped to make a weeks worth of calculas notes easier to understand. Good sense of humour, very fair. On the final, he let us omit one question as well as him taking away the one with the lowest mark. great prof.

Rob or as he should be known as roundhouse rob. Not only was attractive and a pleasure to have in front of that class but he was also one of the smartest professor with his understanding of the material and his ability to keep the class constantly on topic taught me alot not only as a student but someone who wants to get into teaching.

Okay, I never really had him as a teacher yet....but he did help me with homework in the Math Help Center. He was great at explaining confusing terms in a way that makes sense and was willing to sacrifice his time and effort into making sure his students understood the work. good prof overall. exam questions can be tricky. really cares about the students. if you go to class and go to the help center sometimes and you'll do well. great math-guy, he is probably the only person that i know of that is crazy about math.

Great professor, goes through lots of examples and gives lots of hints as to what will be on exams. He marks fairly slowly but that's mostly because he searches for part marks to give to students. He also raised anybody's 1st midterm mark if they did way better on the 2nd. He just replaces your 1st mark w the 2nd if you did 2x better!

Took him for a spring course, so everything was extremely fast. If you didn't stay on top of your work, things got very confusing, but Robert always made sure to explain to us how to get help, made himself extremely easy to talk to and get into contact with, and would help in every way he possibly could! Definitely 100% recommend him.

AMAZING teacher. He does math on the board efficiently, he can write really fast and neat at the same time so that he is able to work through a lot of examples in a short period of time. Really helpful in the lab as he shows exam-like questions that may have not been covered in class. Overall, he is a mathematical genius, always willing to help.

He's so specific and clear about his expectations for his students, he manages to make math lectures interesting which is a nice change of pace. Show up and you'll do well, he makes himself very available and is super willing to help you outside of class. He was very good at explaining the topics that students were having issues on and had extreme patience for the shenanigans going on in our lab class. He has a way of making something complicated seem easy and understandable. One of the few classes were I could have a good laugh while learning.

Homework assignments were pretty long, and due every 2 weeks, but it's all very straightforward if you go to class. This course has a lot of content but Rob focuses on making sure concepts are understood through lots of examples before moving on. Was always clear what test would cover, and if you're naturally good at math you should do great.

By far the best prof Ive had. I struggle with math but Rob does eveything he can to help you understand the concepts. Definitely smart to go to the lecture since it is a hard class overall but he does a good job of explaining conepts in class. If I had to take another math class I would make sure it was with him. Things happen sometimes and probably ( I guess) prof Robert is overloaded this Win21 semester, so it takes awhile for him to reply emails and update the grades. But at the end of the sem, I understand why prof Robert delays posting the grades. He's really one-of-a-kind. His notes and videos are helpful as well as the practice quizzes/exams.

I saw another review saying he only marked 2 out of 9 assignments before the final. That isnt true. There were more than 2 assignments marked. He also sent out an email apologizing for the delay for the marking if the quizzes repeatedly. He is the most helpful and understanding prof I have ever had. He gave us many review materials for finals!

The best Math teacher i've ever had. His notes/videos are so good and everything you need to know is in there. If you do the work you'll do good. Before you enroll in 114, know that this class has a 50% FAIL RATE. If you MUST take it, run with Robert!!! He ensures all students understand the material and is available to help after hours. Probably the best math teacher out there, however, seems to be taking too much to handle as he is teaching at 2 Grant Mac and UofA with back-to-back classes between universities which causes him to often be late or doesn't show up at all. If you can't learn without a lecture then don't take his class.

Best math prof, I don't think anyone can top him. Rly sweet, caring guy. Horrible at math but I'm doing great in math 120. His lectures help a lot and make sense. Gives exactly what you should know for each quiz. Will round your final grade if he thinks you deserve it, and truly just wants you to do great.

He is a great prof, but I would recommend you take him for an in-person class not a hybrid. Also, be aware that he takes forever to give the marks back. I did my final with only 3 quizzes given back out of 6. Overall great teaching and super caring prof!

Dr. Engel is an amazing professor who is very passionate about what he teaches. He does whatever is possible to ensure the best grades for his students. For this course, he had six quizzes (the lowest mark dropped, and the second-lowest mark was replaced with a cumulative quiz), which were written online and an in-person final exam.

Is an excellent professor, was always excited for class, which helps to keep you engaged. Attendance is not mandatory but helpful as he is always eager to help and answer any questions. Assignments and exams are reasonable. The course itself is very difficult and requires work but Robert does everything he can to be there to help you through.

I have always hated math, but he made me enjoy learning about math. He has many videos posted explaining the concepts of each chapter clearly. The course just included 6 assignments for each chapter, 3 midterms, and a final. Although I hoped he posted our midterm marks before our final, I didn't know what grade I was going into before the final.

Math 200, Highly recommend for both math 120 and 200, had him this spring for math 200 and did great with him, gives LOTS of partial marks, always accessible!

Robert was a wonderful professor! He's very caring and tries his best to attend to everyone's needs, whether it takes up extra time of his day or not. He gives lots of bonus marks which was a huge help in the class.

He was awesome. Hands down with him as instructor. Amazingly, after so many years with him and few others. I don't think numbers don't define a persons character and well - being. Also he's probably on and off at the Math & Stat Help lab. I mean I can probably be proven wrong. However I don't know anyone that goes as long as these people.

GUYS! So much fun, his lectures are FAST. But he makes this challenging math class a lot easier. But you MUST go to class (due to heavy lecture), especially if your not great at math. But once it clicks, it clicks. For me, easy math is challenging, and i got my accommodations late and i suffered due to that. But LOTS of materials posted online.

This Professor is great! I took his class for MATH30-2 and I loved it! I never enjoyed math and I was never really good at it but once I took his class I felt way more confident in my math skills. His lectures are easy to understand and even… fun! On top of that his tests are simple, he even gives tons of resources and even gives the textbook

Awesome professor! If you can take him, I would definitely recommend it. Attendance is mandatory, but his lectures are very informative, and he makes them entertaining.

this prof is great and the only reason I dropped was because I didn't realize there was an easier alternative that I could have taken. but he's very caring and makes sure that he is very fair to give students every advantage there is to help them pass.

Fantastic professor. Lectures were clear and he broke down problems in a simple and digestible way. If I could have him for all of my math classes, I would. Very accessible outside of class time. The only downside is that he is often late to class/the final exam.

Popular opinion may sway at anytime and no one is perfect. But Robert's teaching practice is close to perfect. Only a few in Alberta come close He goes in-depth in lectures, gives enough notes and supporting material, and is communicative as needed These topics are hard, most people good at it, want others to fail He is happy to see you succeed
