he is the man
Very good & willing to help out. Class wasn't too hard & he was generally likeable.
He is awesome
Dr. Feldman is the nicest professor ever. He's so easy. You're guaranteed an A in his class.
Proffesor is awsome.. I loved the fact that when he asked what I was going to do over the weekend, he would actually remember. I felt like he really cared about me understanding, not always just getting the correct answer.
Professor Feldman is great, not only is he funny and cares about his students, but he is also amazingly knowledgeable. He seems to know about everything and this creates some great conversations in class.
He loves to run, eats in the commons, and he's always around. Very knowledgeable and can talk for hours about literature. Remember to ask him about New York City, his hometown. He wears 70's polyester pants and shirts so be ready for a time warp.
He is awesome! One of the nicest professors you'll ever have.
All a gotta say is he reminds me of a weird Mr. Rodgers. 1st impression of you sticks in his mind the whole year, good guy though. He just hated the way I wrote my papers ... ahh well.
Pretty easy class. must like reading and be able to debate and speak your thoughts. Very open class format.
Really great guy. Can remember students like there's no tomorrow (past and present) and really cares about students' lives. Read the material (most of it's interesting) and you'll do fine. Papers aren't hard at all.
LOVE HIM. he is the sweetest man and a wonderful teacher. you're missing out if you don't take him
Very great teacher, will remember anyones name and is always willing to help out students. Class is very easy and laid back, must take this teacher, he is great and no one on campus is better. Great professor that knows his stuff, very knowledgable.

You may have already seen him walking around on campus. Awesome teacher. He likes to know his students on a personal level. I still talk to him from time to time. He is an excellent reference to have. Keep in mind there is a LOT of reading in this class!
possibley the nicest man that i have ever meet. he will do anything in his power to help you out, and does a great job in teaching to the students! Take him for you comp. courses
Amazing man, loves what he does. Need more people like him
He remembers absolutely everyone who has ever taken a class from him. He's a very nice guy who really cares how you are doing. A lot of people say "hi, how are you" as a greeting. Feldman says it because he really cares how you're doing
What a sweetheart! I want to give him a hug every time I see him. He's sort of like UW-Oshkosh's version of Mr. Rogers. Highly recommend him!
I loved him. He eats in the commons with other students. He lives just off campus and is a delight to talk to.
i had him for modern american lit and we just show up to class everyday and read and talk about poems. 2 tests (essays) and 2 papers with tons of heads up. Probably the coolest man in all of oshkosh, so friendly. TAKE HIM!!!
easy don't mean good
All of you who gave him a sad face....you must be on crack rock! Feldman is the best teacher in this school! He knows your name after meeting you only once, and shows a real interest in his students and asks everyone, everyday, how they're doing. His classes are interesting and he gives you a great perspective about the literature. WE LOVE FELDMAN!!
This man is the nicest person ever. He makes you want to come to class. He has a real intrest in everyone of his students. Class is fun, and he will make sure everyday to talk to everyone of his students. I love this guy!
Incredible professor. I have nothing to do with the English department, just took the class to cover a gen-ed..by the 2nd day of class, he knew me by name, always asked me how I was - and I see him quite often around campus. He is very interested in how students are doing,& the best prof I have ever had. Everyone should take him if you study @ UWO!
One of the best EVER. 2 years after taking the class he still knew my name. Had "bring a friend day" on last day of class - I brough mom and dad. 2 years later, he remembered them too. Excellent teacher who makes you want to think.
he's awesome... really friendly guy. he's really patient and will explain things a million times if he has to. i am really impressed... must say.
If you don't like him, go screw yourself. Feldman rocks, and he will never forget your name... ever.
MY FAVORITE PROFESSOR EVER!! He explains everything until it is extremely clear to everyone. He's a fair grader & he'll always know you're name. I definitely recommend taking his classes!
He is a wonderful example of what a teacher should be. He will go out of his way to help you succeed and truly cares about his students. The best lesson he has taught would be how to treat your fellow man.
I must agree that this is my favorite professor so far! He truly cares about students and always remembers your name. Very caring and great class atmosphere makes class fly by! Going to miss this class just because of him!
An awesome guy, makes an effort to get to know everyone and is genuinly nice! Take his class if you get a chance.
Dr. Feldman is a brilliant professor with highly personable teaching style (he belongs in Harvard, not UWO). His classes are full of discussions and students get to know each other because of that. What a great professor that makes you think!
I loved having Professor Feldman. He was not only very knoweldgable in the content, but also encouraging of the class to come up with our own interpretations of the text we read. You can tell he loves his job and that cares about his students. Take him!!
I love Dr. Feldman! He will NEVER forget your name, and he's always so excited to see everyone in class. He's one of the most genuinely nice people I've ever met, and it's clear he's really passionate about lit and teaching. He always makes a point to talk to every student and ask how their day is going before the class starts. Great teacher!!
Best teacher Ive ever had. Also one of the nicest guys ive ever met.
All I wanted to say is that he was my favorite English professor. The nicest person I have ever met. Ever.
Extremely nice...he knows his stuff and teaches you well, exams are easy bc they're essay and usually base on something you talked a lot about during class you can usually just write in your own opinion to the essay questions. Easy A!
HE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR EVER! If you don't take a class with Feldman you are MISSING OUT! He is by far the nicest man I have ever met and is always willing to help you out. He cares about his students and gets to know them on a personal level. He always asks you how you are doing and he knows your name by the second day of class. He is AMAZING!!!!
One of the best professors on campus. He makes it a specific point to get to know everyone on a personal level. I'm not an English major/minor, but I ran into him on campus a semester after I had taken his class and he still remembered my name and asked me how I was doing. Great professor and great man.
Nicest person I ever met. Remembers everyone's name, and has a geniune interest in students. Class material is understandable if you do the reading. 2 Exams and 2 Essays. Grades Fairly. If you participate, you will get a better grade. Nice professor I ever had. TAKE HIM IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE! I haven't met anyone who hasn't liked him!
Super easy. Wonderful person. Will help you whenever necessary. DEFINITELY recommend!!!
Very good professor. I hate English classes and this class wasn't bad at all; actually it was kind of interesting. Grammar lessons were actually helpful for improving writing. I got an A and was not expecting it at all.
Such a nice guy! He will give you as much help as you ask for on writing papers and will always remember you after he teaches you
Very laid back teacher and class. He's very friendly and knew my name by the 2nd class. There's a lot of reading involved, but it's not difficult to catch on if you forgot an assignment. Open to personal interpretations of readings, not harsh or stern at all! Best prof ever!
Probably my favorite professor. He's a sweet, friendly, odd man! Is an amazing professor and is always very clear and helpful. His class is pretty easy and he's really laid back and is open to a wide variety of opinions.
Nicest, smartest professor. Absolutely wonderful. Very satisfied with this class and the professors teaching.
Great Teacher. Knows everyones name by the second day! He even talks to you off campus if you see him. A great class. Very easy.
Feldman is the nicest man in the world. He knows everyone's name by the end of the first week. Class was pretty much all discussion. I didn't read, ever, and passed with a B. 4 essays are what you are graded on, 2 in class, 2 out. The best part, he tells you to type your papers in 14 point font, double spaced. Take Feldman!
You know the man you notice always speed-walking around campus in a goofy sort of way? That's Prof. Feldman. He's intelligent, kind and very thought provoking. He creates discussion and always respects you input. Best professor I've had at UW-O. Take him!
Incredible professor. Nicest guy you'll ever meet. Learned a ton in this class. We spent way too long on poetry, but he made it seem interesting. Easy, too. Take him if you get the chance.
I cannot possibly say enough nice things about him. He is a professor of the highest quality. Take him! 2 Essay Exams, 2 papers. He is a fair grader. And he will help you, and is extremely approachable. His classes fill up quick, so sign up early. Did I mention he is a genius?
He is the nicest guy I have ever met! He knows everyone in the class by the end of the first day. Wonderful professor. He makes everything interesting.
By far the best professor I have ever had! I highly suggest taking his classes whenever possible. He is the nicest professor I have ever met. He also made me interested in the subject. Loved this class!!
Prof Feldman is awesome. He knows everyones name and is such a sweetheart. He is very involved on campus so I'm sure you'll see him walking- i do everyday! He loves when you use quotes from the book in your essay's. Easy way to get an A. Give him your essay a week before the due date and he'll give it back for you to correct and turn in! Take it
I graduated Oshkosh in 94 (Matt Collins). I thought I would look up the most influential teacher of my schooling - Dr. Feldman. If you're pursuing a professor who completely understands learning, respect and the historical perspective of literature and how it impacts present day he's most certainly for you. A great orchestrator of the classroom.
Best teacher on campus
Best professor ever, and a terrific person. Fair grader, willing to work with you, and always greets you with a smile and genuine excitement to see you. That, and he always remembers your name! What an amazing human being.
This is probably the best professor I've had. He really cares about his students. Hes also very willing to help you. There are 2 in class and 2 out of class papers. Hes a very fair grader. I would strongly recommend taking him. I would definitely take another one of his classes.
Best professor I have ever had! He genuinely cares about the class and the students. He grades fairly and has a very do-able amount of coursework outside of the class. Class had great discussion every day, and the class time went quickly! I would highly recommend this professor.
Best professor I've ever had! He takes the time to get to know each student. He explains everything very clearly and discussions are valuable and informative (even if you were confused by the readings). There were 2 in-class essays and 2 out-of-class essays; both manageable if you read and partake in the discussion. I would highly recommend!
Dr. Feldman is the best professor I've ever had. He really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He is also very approachable. I would highly recommend taking any of his classes.
Dr. Feldman is an extremely kind and genuine person. He really cares about his students, and is more than willing to help with anything. Take his classes!
He remembers my first and last name (even after not having him for awhile), and it is very apparent that he genuinely cares about every one of his students. There will not be a day that you show up and feel like he's just there because he has to be. His discussions provoke thought too!
Make sure you go to class, if you look up readings on spark notes you should be fine. Open book tests (theres 2) (I wrote in my book everything he said in class) theres 2 papers but he wants you to double space and use 14 font. Really funny teacher, just show up and youll get at least a b.
I have had professor Feldman twice and would take him again except I will be graduating. He can remember every students name first and last even students he hasn't seen in ages. He is a very down to earth kind of guy and I have a lot of respect for him. He makes English fun even what is usually boring. Take him if you get the chance!
He is a great professor! In my top 2 for sure, expect to do a lot of reading and weekly quizzes on the reading. The exams are hard but if you read the material and go to class, you will do fine. He gives points for your attempts at writing something to the question on the exam. We wrote 1 paper and points for that went towards final exam. Nice guy
He is the sweetest professor. Just go to class, spark note all the readings and you will be fine. You literally just talk about poems and what they mean to you in class--dont even pre read anything, its pointless. His exams are the easiest thing ever. Just write what he says about poems in the OPEN BOOK EXAMS AND QUIZES he gives
awesome teacher takes time to get to know everyone and has a great personality that keeps class interesting!
The best professor I have ever had. He honestly cares about each and everyone of his students. He knows everyone by first and last name and really tries to get to know you. There are times I see him around campus and he always stops and talks to me. He also always has a smile on his face. He really enjoys his job.
Best class I have ever taken and best professor I have ever experienced here at UWO. He cares about each and every one of his students and he is such a great man. He has taught me a lot about myself and life in general. You will not regret taking this class.
Dr. Feldman really cares about each of his students. He's also a genius. Even though you could just Sparknote everything, I don't recommend it. Do the reading, use your brain, and show him the same kind of respect he shows you. Don't take advantage of his infinite supply of kindness either.
He's the best professor ever. In my 3 years here, I've never had a professor who cares more for his students. Before every class he makes a point to talk to everyone individually. He is so kind & a very easy grader. He calls on kids for participation, but as long as you respond you'll get an A. He may seem odd at first, but he is a big sweet heart
Professor Feldman is literally the nicest man I have ever met. This class is a great change of pace and is super laid back. I spend a good majority of my time in this class on my computer writing the papers he assigns or on Facebook and he doesn't even care. The papers are super easy moslty opinion. 100% recommended this class!
Easily in my top 2 for professors I've had over 4 years here at UWO. Super nice, the class is laid back and easy, but may be a bit boring. Easy A, and you should love Feldman.
Probably the nicest guy you will ever meet in your life and easy grader. Just show up to class and follow along. You really don't even need to do the readings outside of class because they are all done in class.
Nicest professor at Oshkosh, show up and you'll pass. Open book exams and no homework it's done in class
Robert Feldman is your dream professor. He's a sweet old man that loves to power walk around campus, and talk to you about your day. Will want you to thrive in his class. Participate, read the assigned readings, and you'll easily pass. Pay attention and you'll get an "A". 2 In-class Papers (Exams), and 2 Papers to type out of class. EASY CLASS :)
He will never forget a word that you tell him, and he cares about all of his students on a personal level. He begins each class by greeting his students and asking them how they are doing. If you are passionate about studying literature, I'd steer away from Feldman, as the work done in his class is surface level, but it's an easy A. Friendly man.
My favorite professor I've taken. Very funny guy and gets to know his student's names within a few weeks and genuinely cares about getting to know them. We only had four essays total due in the class. He is a generous grader and lectures are engaging but not mandatory.
Great professor, cares about all students, recommend anyone to take this class for an easy A
Robert Feldman is the best professor I have ever taken! I seek him out for every single English class that I can. He is the most caring professor you will ever take. You're graded on a handful of essays you write. He will give you valuable feedback on how to do better and increase your grade. I promise it is worth going out of your way to take him!
2 exams, open book, 2 out of class papers. He is the nicest man in the world. He makes an effort to talk to everyone and get to know each student. However, he is a tougher grader so make sure you work hard. Make sure you take notes on what he says in class - it will help with the exams!
Dr. Feldman has become one of my favorite professors on campus. He is so welcoming and genuinely cares about all his students. Within the first week he knew all of our names! Going to class isn't mandatory, but he will notice when you're not there. The lectures and discussion are very interesting so I enjoyed attending class! Highly recommend him!!
Dr. Feldman is a wonderful professor. He makes every student feel important and really gets to know every single person. His lectures about the readings can be boring at times, but he is very passionate about his job and you can tell. Its a very easy class. If you show up, participate, and are respectful, you will pass without a doubt.
Professor Feldman is the sweetest man youll ever meet. He gets to know each of his students, and greets you with a smile and conversation every single class. I personally have little interest in literature, but loved going to class and having discussions and hearing what he had to say about the readings. Easy A, and awesome class overall.
Feldman might just be the nicest person I've ever met, great teacher and great lectures. That said, his 300-level classes are taught like 200-level courses, giving A's to essays and exams that would have probably have gotten C's with other 300-level professors. Take only if you're an English major who wants easy classes or a nonmajor.
Hard grader. NEED A LOT OF DETAIL and be a quick writer. I suck at English and writing so I obviously hated this course, but if I had to take another English or writing class, which I will, I would stick with this professor.
Dr. Feldman is so kind and very witty. He knows everyone's name and will never forget it. His class is paper-based, but he isn't too tough of a grader. I got nothing lower than a B+ on a paper. I would highly recommend Dr. Feldman and would take him again in the future.
He is a very nice and caring professor! He will remember everyone's name after the first week of classes. He loved talking to everyone before class, sometimes it was weird because he would ask questions about your personal life that gotten a little weird. He had 2 in class papers and 2 outside of class papers. He explained the papers clearly.
I love professor Feldman because he is so caring and loves every one of his students. He knows everyone by their name and what they share on the first day too. Only thing is that the lectures are sort of boring and he just reads stories to you and the students read poems. Only two out of class papers and two in class exams, not bad at all.
Dr. Feldman was a very nice professor. It is clear that he cares about his students and the material that he teaches. Be prepared to read a lot for his class, although he re-reads everything in class so it doesn't really matter if you read or not. His class is a little boring, but it's an easy A.
Dr. Feldman is nice, but could benefit from diversity training. He makes some offensive micro-aggressions toward people of color and LGBTQ people. Easy grader.
Professor Feldman is.a generally okay grader but has on occasion micro-aggressed some of his student of color. He could be a great professor if he stopped using student's identities as a punchline! :)
Robert is a very nice man. Attendance isn't graded but you need to be there to get the information to do well on the exams and papers. The exams are short essay questions and there are two other papers besides the exams. It's not too difficult if you know the material well. Exams are open book so I would recommend taking notes in the book margins.
Dr. Feldman is a very nice man who truly cares about his students. If you miss class he will ask you where you were in front of the whole class. With that being said, his lectures and class are boring. Theres 6 papers throughout the semester that range between 1000 and 2000 words and are fairly easy.
Couldn't recommend this professor enough! If you have an interest in 19th-20th century history and literature, this class should be a breeze. But, he made a couple questionable comments throughout the semester. I know his age shouldn't excuse these comments, but he is an older gentleman, so his filter is not completely there. Otherwise he's great!
I'll admit, I fell asleep a few times in his class. However, he treats his students like they are his children. He loves everyone and could not be more helpful outside of class. I loved Robert. Hoping to have him again as an English major. Highly recommend taking his class at Oshkosh. He made me look forward to going to class everyday.
Robert is truly the most compassionate professor on campus! He gets to know each of his students personally, and truly hopes they succeed. His classes were always very laid back, just discussing assigned readings. When it came to tests and papers, however, his grading was unexpectedly picky.
Overall, class was easy. At a 300 level course I would expect a little more. He assigned one reading every night and then just reads it out loud the next day. Little to no analysis and little to no actual lecturing. Mostly him reading out of the book and making uncomfortable comments to his students.
I loved him as a teacher. Very sweet and obv cares about his students. He has 4 papers, two being out of class on readings from class. Class consists of doing the readings and talking them over. You use the textbook every day in class. The longest paper was 3 pages. In class essays are easy if you pay some what attention in class.
Professor Feldman always went out of his way to say hello to each student every class period. Even though attendance wasn't strictly mandatory, I would still urge others to attend his class. He gave an insightful analysis of the readings and made the readings digestible. I am looking forward to taking more of his classes in the future.
Dr, Feldman has got to be the nicest Professor at this school. He goes out of his way to say hello to every student. He try to get to know each of his students. Dr. Feldman is easily assessable outside of class and is always willing to help you out when you need it.
Professor Feldman is one of the nicest professors! Like other people have said, he goes out of his way to say hello to every single person and remembers everyone's name. His class is highly discussion based. He really cares about the material and making sure that everyone understands the meaning behind it. I would definitely take him again!
Before every class you were expected to read a few chapters or a couple poems that would be discussed in class. Don't worry if you forget one as he always goes over them in class. He cares more about students understanding and enjoying the material than grades. Graded on 2 in-class essays, 2 out of class essays, and participation.
He is the best professor I have had at UWO so far. He is always willing to help, and his classes often out loud reading and analysis of poems and stories. Four essays are given throughout the semester, and he allows open books and multiple prompts. His lectures are very refreshing compared to many other classes I've taken. 10/10 would recommend.
Professor Feldman is one of the nicest and most caring professors I've had. His class is discussion-based and he knows everyone's name. While the lectures can be a bit dry, the workload is manageable, and unstuckstudy was a great resource for essay prep.
Lots of reading "assigned," but goes over everything in class. Seriously the kindest soul on Earth. Only two papers and two in class essays which are graded very lightly. Easy A and great way to spend your time.
Professor Feldman is one of the best professors for English. He knows everyone and tries his best to check up on everyone beginning and the end of class. There are 4 essays that you have to write, but they are spread enough throughout the semester. As long as you participate, you should be able to get an A.
