enjoyable class, 2 papers/ no tests
extremely knowlegeable and funny
complete waste of my time, this is the most boring class ever
hard course, but very nice, very helpful;if you strive for the A you will get it
I hate PHILOSOPHY!!!!
god he thinks he knows it all even tried embarassing some guy in class, i got an easy A but fitzgibbons is a complete ass
Why do we have to take this boring class. I hate the three hours I have to sit there and listen to this junk, this course is another usless course.
Very caring individual. You do quizzes all semester and then 1 big test. If you fail the quizzes, you can do extra credit. Even though the lectures can be lengthy, he's the best philosophy professor at BSC. Highly Recommended.
Philosophy sucks but Fitzgibbons is a very nice guy. He is as helpful as he can be. I'd say he's the best Phil. teacher at BSC
I never had a teacher who was so enthusiastic about what he was teaching. He always came into class with a smile...even on Monday mornings! Simply the best Philospohy teacher at BSC.
great professor... philosophy can be difficult but he tries to make it easy.
He's cool, but you BETTER think clearly, and be ready to EXPLAIN your P.O.V. if you're going to challenge him.
I love Professor Fitzgibbons! I've had him twice and both times he's been as helpful as possible. Really nice guy! I recommend Reasoning and Values as a GER.
Nice guy, but boring subject.
Dr. Fitzgibbons is awesome. The subject he covers is difficult but he tries to make it as easy as possible. He comes in with a smile and obviousley loves what he does. He is one of the most enthusiastic professors I have ever had and would take him again
Fitzgibbons is the best professor at BSC! You can tell that he loves what he does. He was concerned about his students both in and outside of the classroom. He is the best professor that I have ever had, I would definatly take him again
Wicked hard course, I guess he makes the best of it, but it was over alot of my classmastes (including myself) head. I dreaded it
I was dreading this class when I signed up for it, but he makes it fun. He is always smiling and you can't help but smile too. Moral Philosophy is a hard topic but he makes it as easy and as clear as he possibly can. He's a great teacher!
This class is ALL MEMORIZATION. If you usually take classes based on your intuition and comprehension of concepts-- this class is different. He is very nice otherwise. And VERY LAX on tardiness.
Great guy. Real nice and cares about his students. Tells some interesting stories about his family. Hard material. True and false. Have to pay attention the wording and have to study to pass. The paper is really easy mostly copy and paste.
Professor Fitzgibbons is a great professor..The subject matter is very difficult but he tries to help you understand it...There isnt many notes, the test are true/false and the paper is easy..def recommend him if your taking Philosophy
good person
what a goof ball. really nice man with jokes that no one laughs at with random cute stories. quiz every other week and then paper and final...all TorF. really opened me up to alot of new ideas and i understand philosophy alot better now.
He is so funny and nice to all of his students. The subject is hard but after the semester you will understand what it's all about... I did! I feel more intelligent!
great professor cares about his students but a wicked hard course studied a lot and and only managed to get a d+ and im a b student. real nice person recommend him
Don't-have-to-agree-with-him kinda deal but agree-with-him-anyway type of atmosphere. God, what a philosophical load of @!#$
Way too easy!!!-This course was such a waste of my time! I don't know about helpfulness because I never needed it; and anyone who did is an utter moron! If you're looking for an easy A-this is it. If you want to actually learn something, look elsewhere
The teacher is one of the best teachers that I have had at bridgewater. He really cares about the students, and takes the time to help the students learn the material. He is upbeat and full and energy, you can tell he loves teaching, and he teaches well.
Just memorize the notes and youll be fine. Its an easy class with a claim to make you smarter. I dont feel smarter but I got an A!
reminds me of mr. finney on boy meets world. funny and intelligent, honestly wants you to learn and i love his class, one of the best professors at this school. i hope to take him again! all of his tests are scantron, pay attention and you'll do fine.
Very easy class, just make sure you understand everything that's going in the class.
Great guy, very nice. It is just a shame that his class is so damn boring and pointless...
Be very careful with semantic and read the damn book!!!! he's great if you do those two things.
good professor, bad class
don't take the night class with him! it's horribly boring! also, he will wait to answer someone's question until he goes over something later on down the road (up to 4 weeks) to try to answer it more clearly. by then, it makes no sense anymore. read his quizzes carefully: every word counts...
Stands up there and insists that this course is a blessing on how to change the way you deal with your life but really all he does is bash liberal views at every oppurtunity, and at a mass state school of all places. He makes funny animal noises, but I really wish i left this course with more.
whole grade was based on 1 paper that was due at the end of the semester....easy class, going to him in the fall for pl401...hopefully wilkl be the same!
unfair, boring
This has got to be one of the most useless courses that I've ever had to take. His if/then clauses are ridiculous!!!!!!!!!1 It is the world according to Fitzgibbons that really matters. Memorize the notes and humour him and you'll be fine.
he is horrible. he stuffs his thoughts down your throat. i made the mistake of taking the monday class and he never let out early and didn't even give you a break. he doesn't care if you miss but if you do you will be completely lost DON'T TAKE HIM
Nice guy who knows his subject matter but with all the information presented, I feel less intelligent than before I took the class!!!
Great class you just need to think outside the box. If you miss a class get the notes you'll need everyword and read the book and you'll pass. alittle kooky but ask questions he will do his best to help. If you dont get one concept you cant get the next so ask ????s

Good structure in presenting material - Doesn't rush through things - Encourages questions but doesn't force - May seem a bit dorky, but he has great intentions
Donot take the night class!! unbelievalbe boring!! quizes count! totally useless class for me. ok teacher, stupid class.
He's pretty easy. I cannot seem to stay awake in his class though. Tests are all T/F 50 questions so not too bad. Since you have to take Philosophy take him!
really nice guy, kinda weird. but i can't understand anything he's trying to say, and the "quizes" are obsurd. dont bother asking questions cuz he only confuses you more. take him for a day class but absolutely NOT the night class... it's miserable.
he is an awesome teacher. he will give you all the help you need, and he gives good examples. the material is pretty boring, but he makes it decent. definitly take him.
very cool, funny and nice guy. I found the class very difficult but I think it's just the class, not the teacher
dont really know what to say..hard class, but the prof. is a very nice guy and cool. i guess its just the material itself that made it tough. 1 big paper..like 5 or 6 quizzes. come prepared to think hard
eh, so-so class. Quiz every other week, T/F sometimes question seems both answers could be correct-confusing. Seems willing to give extra help if needed, in-class examples are rather vague and unhelpful though. He's the only Phil prof I've taken, ended up with a crappy grade even with doing all the reading and quizzes. tough luck-GER completed
tough class with lots of reading and understanding of material. 5 quizes every other week. great guy and works to make sure full knowlegde of class material. he wrote the book, seriously. very fair in grading.
loved him! so nice and funny but the final is 50% of your grade and its hard!! did crappy in the class b/c of that!!
Come to class and take notes, and you'll be fine. Quiz every other week with 50 true/false questions. Takes questions off that most people got wrong, bringing up your grade. One REALLY easy final paper that he will tell you if you're doing correctly. People who say he doesn't know what he's talking about don't understand the material and are stupid
class is easy. go to class, take notes...final is 50% of grade.
Philosophy is something you either get or you don't. If you don't, he will try his very hardest to explain it to you. His goal is to simply get you to understand the material. If you don't understand or disagree, tell him! It'll make you understand all the better. If you just show up to class and get involved then its impossible not to do well.
Attendance is a must. Take notes and study and you will do fine. True/false exams and an easy paper. Final is cummulative so it is easiest to review all of the previous material as you go along. He is always willing to review the information as much as is needed to make sure everyone understands it.
Sort of mixed on the class. Trys to make it interesting and deff has a passion for the subject at hand. Paper is very simple, you write it in pieces and he will correct it along the way and tell you what you need to fix. Final is 50% of your grade. Drops your lowest quiz and scales. Very nice professor, but I didn't care for the subect at all.
He is a great teacher, who loves the subject, he gives quizes often, but you always know about them and they're pretty repetitive and simple as long as you pay attention in class, no real out of class work, but sometimes studying for quizes helps
i'm taking him right now as a summer course and it's ridiculously condensed! you need to go to class to understand the material. it's not really bad, but if you dont get it ask ???'s so you get it. he's a really nice guy too & full of energy.
he is nice and knowledgeable guy. if u study for weekly quiz w/ notes, u can understand what will be on quiz. he helps students understanding.
He clearly doesn't understand what he's teaching, he's simply memorized the words. He dances around questions and occasionally comes close to an answer, rarely reaches it though. Somewhat rude when students don't understand it.
Fitzgibbons is the man to take for this class! 1st quiz I got a 68. Went to see him and from then on I never got anything below an 88 and ended up with an A in the class. He knows what he talking about and can do it without a book!
As of right now he has yet to teach us much of logic; instead, he spends a majority of class providing "examples" which eventually turn into long-winded stories. After flabbergasting the class for the entire period with these round-about answers he spends the last five minutes of an hour and 15 minute class writing legitimate rules of logic.
Fitzgibbons is a great professor. He does not use a text book so you'll save money. He spends a lot of time going over the material until everyone understands it. He cancels questions on quizes that more than 50% of the class got wrong, adding points to the quiz, making it possible to get over a 100%. Right now I have over a 100. Definitely take hi
He is perfect for Philosophy!! His class is never boring. He knows his subject and will explain it to you until you understand it. No required homework, just blackboard exercises that you don't have to do but you really should because they're helpful. Make sure you study regualarly or you'll get lost fast. No book required.
Dr Fitzgibbons will go to great lengths to help all of his students. While I don't recommend Ethics and Action to non-majors, he considers it his mission to make sure the whole class is on the same page. He knows all the subject matter from memory.
Awesome professor for intro to philosophy. He's such a great guy- no textbook! Relatively easy tests if you go to class regularly. Take this class with him.
Fitzgibbons is the best! Philosophy is a terrible subject but somehow he manages to make it easy to understand. He does frequently make long winded "pep-talks" which get incredibilty repetitive but it's worth it. He's a fantastic, helpful teacher.
took logical reasoning with fitz. Material was hard. His teaching was great. He scales the grades.
very nice teacher, great sense of humor, knowledgable and helpful, down to earth
Super awesome dude. Lotta dudes suck. Fitz G-Man ain't one of em. Cuz he's super awesome. If you're going to take a logic class, then you should take his. You are going to take a logic class. Therefore, you should take his. Haha, logic joke. Awesome!
This guy is the man!!! He is funny too. Great professor! Highly recommended. Attendance is not mandatory and we never used a book. All you do is take his notes. He was very understanding and helpful. He seems to really care for his students. 2 Thumbs up!!
Dr. Fitzgibbons is one of the best people on Earth. He doesn't use a book, and everyone still manages to do well on the final. He scales the grades so it's not as bad as it looks on Blackboard. Nice guy--good stories.
He's weird, but helpful. Attendence isn't mandatory but its good to go. I would recommend taking him as long as you can deal with the wackyness that is Fitzgibbons
The course easy at first and very hard after, i took web course, it was fine at first and getting very hard at the end. A lot of memmorize stuff. U cant understand the subject but he is great teacher
Nice Professor. Cares about students. Practice quiz are somewhat easy. Final was brutal. Not all parts covered sufficiently to pass. Copy and past intro test to practice with.Do practice quiz nightly or your lost. Take FitzGibbons because others are worse from what I hear.
This guy is awesome. He lets you do the homeworks over and over until you get 100 percent and then factors that into your grade. If you do the homework, you will understand everything. He dropped two lowest quizes too.
This Class Is completely black and white, and Fitzgibbons makes it clear as day, as long as you do the homework,(avaliable on Bb) he lets you do it 4 times and counts the highest grade, tests are right out of the hw, DEFINITELY HIGHLY RECOMENDED!! take it and your bound to do well as long as you put in your end, he is GENIUSS!!!!
I hear this guy is awesome, but I took the class online and got lost at the very last bit of work. He replies to emails, but I didn't find it very helpful. So don't take it online, if you can avoid that, I'm sure it's a lot better in person.
The subject can be hard for some, but he does his best to make it as clear as possible and gives every possible opportunity for everyone to do well. Very helpful and understanding.
Completely explains everything you need to know. He goes at the rate of the slowest student, which is sometimes painfully slow. He does go off on tangents easily so students have to work to keep him on subject if they want to learn. DO THE HOMEWORK and you'll do fine. Repetition is the key to getting an A in his Logic class. He's a GENIUS!
He's awesome! Everyone told me Philosophy was going to be soo hard. He makes it easy! He lets you do assignments over and over again until you get a 100, he explains everything clearly and as slowly as needed. Great professor. I recommend him !!!
This class is mandatory & it's made out to be a very difficult subject to grasp, but if you take Fitzgibbons, not only will you grasp it, you will succeed in it. His students have the highest grade percentage in this class out of all the PHIL111 profs at BSU. Do yourself a favor and take Sir Robert! Just follow his instruction & you will get an A!
he gives you the exact questions that will be on the test. he wants you to do well. he doesn't really care about attendance. he just likes to talk a lot and goes off on tangents about random stuff. he's a pretty interesting guy. easy class, cool guy. i definitely recommend him.
You have to take this class. You don't want to take this class. So why not take it with the guy who will make it the least painful for you? All homeworks and quizzes are done on blackboard and you can do homeworks over and over, and he counts your highest grade. He drops the lowest quiz grade and a lot of the quizzes are done at home instead of in class. He really helps you understand this stuff. I don't care what anyone says, Fitzgibbons is the best Philosophy teacher BSU can offer.
Very nice guy but he can be extremely boring and get off topic very easily...You sign yourself in to class so its not really mandatory-he says attendance isn't that important-everythings online, the notes and quizzes, you can take them over and over again to get the best grade possible
Follow his instructions and u will get a good grade. Take it online. Saved me a lot of time.Homework and a quiz due every sunday with a final in the end. TAke it!
this course is absolutely horrible. Fitz is cool and a good teacher but unclear. I took it online and i probably got an email from him twice throughout the entire semester. The course itself sucks and is really hard. I suggest taking it in class. 2-3 hws due very week and a test every week due on sunday, and a final
homeworks everyweek but can be done as many times as u need inorder to understand/get a 100. Quiz at end of every week, not timed so its not hard to get a decent grade cuz u can refer back to ur notes and previous hw's. Just google stuff as well n ull get the answers. easy as long as u put a little effort into reading the notes. Highly Reccomend!!
I took this class online & throughout the semester I only received like 2 or 3 emails from the professor. HW assignment every week which are only multiple choice & a quiz every wk. The course gets challenging bc the subject is confusing. Make sure you ask for help, study, dont slack, practice HW problem & re-do previous quizzes. No textbook either
He was no help when asked a question. Homework assignments and quizzes never showed the correct answer if you got one wrong making it very difficult to figure out why you got the answer wrong.
Makes no sense. How does a test have material that is not related to ANYTHING you have done all semester? One of the worst online classes I have ever taken. If I learn how to ride a bicycle, but then you randomly tell me to ride a skateboard without lessons; that is the same method this class is taught. No real world apprehension. Pass on taking it
I took it online . Homework assignments weekly that you could take as many times as needed until 100% then there were weekly quizzes amounting to 50 questions each, first time you take it was for grading then you could take it again for practice. 40% of the grade is dependent on the final. Study and prepare and you will pass, but it's a hard class!
