Fleischmann took over my humanities class halfway through the semester. He's extremely knowledgeable and makes humanities class really interesting. Attending class is important, but he lectures on exactly what you need to know. Great teacher.
I was really not looking forward to taking humanities. But so far it is the only class that I have learned any valuable information in, all because of Mr. Fleischmann. He is a very good teacher. He is very thorough with his lecturing and offers extra credit. I definately recommend him!
awesome funniest teacherive ever had!
He is a great teacher. he does take attendance but his classes are funny and he takes the test exactly from his notes. he's very cool and i woudl definately recommend him. he gives extra credit too.
I hope he is teaching Humanities II. Excellent teacher. I wish he was teaching history. You are required to come to class but that was okay with me because the way he teach makes you want to attend class. You would be crazy not to take him.
Easy Class...easy A...just make sure you CYA!
He is GREAT, EASY, and FUN. Come to class and pay attention, you will not have to study. I will be taking HUM2 from him. Interesting information.
One of the best teachers I've ever had. He's so funny, but yet still manages to teach and keep you interested in course material. He's a great teacher and you can tell he's a very caring/understanding person. Very tolerable and knowledgable about different races/cultures. Take him!!!
nice guy, very smart. the music he plays in this class is unconstituational, cruel and unusual. However, every test has a study guide. Study that sheet and an a is garanteed. he is crazy about people leaving early so don't even try it. the material is not easy to swallow but the study guide will make up for it
He is a very nice guy and smart as well. He is very helpful in class & during his office hours. Make sure you know eveyrthing in basic details for the exams because his study guide is bassically his exams. There are not tricks and he tell you exactly what pictures and everything you need to know. This class is extremely simple and he makes it fun.
I like this guy. He still has his youthful energy but he has as much knowledge as the next college professor. He relates to people quite well and classes are more than bearable most of the time. The material is boring but he does a good job throwing in interesting bits that keep you at least half-awake. Take him, he's an excellent teacher. :)
This was a very easy class. i toke it online and he only had 4 writing assignments and 2 test. He is kind of slow to grade the papers but you would probably get an "A" in the class. The book is needed and so get it. His study guides and the test are alike, so study. I got an A in the class and so would you!!!
He is so nice, this was my first time taking a web course and he help me through it all the way. There is only four writing assignment and two exams. Just to all assignment and u would do just fine.
He is a good teacher. He is smart. He knows his music. I would recommend you take him. You will learn.
I really recommend taking him. I took him twice just because it was so easy. He does make you attend class but his tests are straight from the notes,no secrets. The material is boring but he is a pretty entertaining fellow so it makes it fun.
He is a good teacher. He was very helpful. learned alot in the class.
I made a B+ in his class I could have easily earned an A+ without my heavy personal family issues. He is very easy to talk to and for the most part he gets to business. He's not one of those professors that have the attitude of "I have my degree now you bow down to me and maybe I will not put up so many brick walls to stop you from getting yours"
I didnt want to take this class in the first place.. was just the only thing that worked with my classes. I was very surprised once i got into it.He loves music and loves teaching... keeps you very intrested! You must come to class and study.. a few crazy papers but he makes everthing a blast... Great class !!!
He took over after two weeks of class for another instructor who was overseas on the humanitie tour. He was very lenient, understanding, and he gave us extra time to get our assignments in. He was very nice. I enjoyed his class.
Great teacher. Loves what he does. Will help you with anything. Textbook is not necessary. Attendance only necessary if you want notes. He gives two tests and two papers and a final. Pretty easy. I would take him again.
Good teacher makes the class interesting not boring at all. he says what he has to say and moves on. posts powerpoint online and always gives extra time for the assignments... wish i would have taken him for hum2210... if you get a chance you should def. take him!!!
Easy class. Take this professor....
As an adjunct prof he was a little out of whack this semester and was late getting us material and grading. Expect that to tighten up now that he's FT. Will probably begin using new text in fall of '08. Tests and grading were very fair. He knows his stuff and you may even learn something.
Amazing teacher, great class, a must take for those who don't know a lot about Jazz. Lectures, music journal, three tests and two very easy papers. A Must Take!!!!
He is one of the best teachers that i have ever had and made me change my major to humanities he is very very easy but he still does a good job teaching i got a 96 in the class and studied for a total of no more 1 hour for all of his test combined.
His a very good teacher. The material is very interesting. This class is a religion based. Have two easy essays.Take this teacher you will pass with A or B nothin less
Awesome teacher, please take he is humerous and fun. I really enjoyed his class!
Loves to engage with his class and really brings the subject matter to life. Very easygoing and funny while also managing to keep a distraction-free classroom.
Great teacher who loves his students.
Boring class, easy A.
great teacher and will take him again
hes really nice and knows his stuff. you have to go to class. but i took him for summer and we only had 2 tests so you kind of had to pass both tests which made the class a little harder. but other wise great teacher.
Plz take his class!! He's smart, funny, and just wonderful! Loves to interact w/ his students & talk about everyday things. Don't be afraid to answer a quest.! Speak up if you think you know an answer bc he doesn't just lecture to you! He wants to hear what you know & see that you are learning! Come to class ready to take notes and you'll do fine!
I took this class in summer because I needed an XY class. For the most part it's pretty easy, and I had no problems. Most of the class is done through watching videos which isn't really my thing, but it is generally the green light for an easy A. Nice guy, but he said at the end of the semester he might fail people who had more than 3unexcused days
He's a great teacher. You only get 5 absences unless you have a good excuse. I never had to worry about that but I know there were a few people in our class who didn't take it seriously and were screwed at the end. Tests are easy. I never studied. He's super nice & makes the subject interesting. TAKE HIM!!
Ok, honestly his class was not a wise choice to spend my time on. Yes his class is super easy, but I walked out knowing the same amount as when I walked in. Also,, he is hard to get in touch with... I sent him several e-mails and didn't get a responce to any.If you need a class and have to build on what you learn from it, don't take this one.
Attendance is mandatory and dont blatantly use your cell phone. Extremely flamboyant and hilarious sense of humor. Tests are easy and all the questions from the quiz are on the test.
ONLINE. Easiest online class!! He had about 1 assignment due every other week though a lot of people weren't turning them in so he always pushed back the dates (everything ended up being due at final). Tests and quizzes are all online with PLENTY of time to complete them! A friend took his class at TCC and said it was much harder in class.
Jazz. He is a great teacher. Keeps it interesting enough to come to class every day, and you need to for the tests to be easy. very lenient and willing to work with you if you are serious. has knowledge of the material and loves what he does. the videos are not boring, they are reels of history. he can talk all night but would prefer participation.
Very fun teachers.Took the class on campus and it was easy and interesting. He always made jokes and conversed with the class. He gave plenty of time to complete all assignments. Online quizes are super easy and the questions from it are on the test. 3 test and 1 is online. Gives easy extra credit.TAKE HIM!!!
it was cool to learn about jazz. it's once a week, it usually never goes on the entire time, and it's really easy. don't miss classes and you'll get an A for sure
I took his Jazz class, def take! He is such a nice guy. He is very knowledgeable about Jazz culture and can answer anything you may ask. If he doesn't know the answer he will either look it up and e-mail the class with the answer or will repeat it the following class. Don't use your cellphone in class, it's rude and he does not like it. Great guy!
He's a good teacher. Very fair, and pretty straightforward. The class is kind of boring, but it's not his fault. He tries to make it interesting, but I was just genuinely uninterested in the material. He allows you to miss five classes (for summer, anyway) and all the assignments have PLENTY of time to be done. Tests are pretty easy, too.
Awesome class!
SUCH a nice teacher. not unfair at all, just wants his students to actually LEARN. you won't regret taking him!!
Fun class, I would take it again.
Excellent class. I was never bored, its very easy, and he usually lets you out early. Funny guy too, just dont sleep or text in his class. Would take again! (Here's your chili pepper btw- a girl told me you wanted them. haha)
What an awesome class! He is a wonderful teacher and makes it very interesting. Assignments are not hard and you have plenty of time to finish them. Test are quite easy if you use his study guide. You can miss up to 5 classes for whatever reason. Just don't text while in his class. It's one of his biggest pet peeves.
Easy "A'Test are not Hard If you come to class and take good note you should pass the Class.I advise you not to Text or SLeep on his class "pet peeves".. leaving class early while doing lecture, unless you'll let him know in advance.Best Teacher Ever I would take over again. He knows what he doing. TAKE HIM
Took for for 2210 and now 2230. Great teacher and a great class. He keeps it quite interesting! Gives you 5 freebie absences but don't miss any more than that or you fail. 2 papers to write but are quite easy to do, no research involved. Biggest pet peeve: cellphone use. Don't do it!! He will call you out in class!
Took him for both humanities classes. Do not waste money and buy the books. All study notes are from class. Humanities is not a super easy class, you have to study, lots of information to memorize. Miss class and you miss lots of information you will need for tests. I would definately take him again.
Very fun class and extremely great teacher! He makes it fun to go to class!
Easy class just keep up with notes and study for the test. And you should do fine....
Great teacher - I am not a music person and did not relize how much I would have to learn, but he was very good and made coming to class worth every minute. MAKE SURE TO TAKE NOTES ON MUSIC!!!
Excellent teacher! keeps you interested and exams wear not hard at all, just keep up with and review your notes often. Doesn't put up with obnoxious students (students who talk when he is and texting<thats all he asks)
He is a very nice teacher. I took him over the summer and it was an easy class. Pay attention, dont leave early, and take notes! Although I dreaded going some days, it was a easy going and enlightening class.
I am taking him now for Humanities I and it is a pretty straight forward class; he is nice(make sure you don't text or talk in class though)and willing to help you if you need help. As long as you go to class and take notes, the class is fairly easy to get an A in. He requires two 1500 word essays, but they are manageable and apply to your life.
tips:be on time, no cell phone, only 3 absences allowed! take good notes an don't miss any classes. no hw or assignments, 3 quizzes, 3 exams, and 2 1500 word essays, participate and pay attention he really knows his stuff!
Overall an easy A. I honestly didn't have time to study for the exams but still made B's and A's on them. Yes they are very easy. Take this class, but dont be a jerk and talk on your phone cuz he will call you out. negatives:It was a night class and 3 hours but he let us out early the 2 months of the semester
TAKE HIM! lectures the full class but the tests are easy if you study. Very clear about what will be on the tests, gives a study guide. No research for the papers and he grades easily. Dont use your cellphone or leave early without checking with him first. He is also pretty funny and hes really nice.
He is a good teacher and class is really easy but this past semester he's been extremely lazy and has taken up to an entire month to grade an essay. He kept promising how would grade it asap and still wouldnt. Easy class but Lazy teacher. Take him but be prepared not know your grade till last day. I got an A
I've taken him for HUM 1 & 2 BEST PROFESSOR AT TCC!!!! I didn't buy a book and have managed to still get an A in the class. 3 tests, 3 quizzes, 2 tests. VERY EASY!
Awesome teacher!! really enjoyed his class. he's really funny and keeps it interesting. 3 online quizzes, 2 essays, and 3 tests. All of them were really easy!! he lets you have 5 absences in the semester.
Easy class BUT LAZY teacher. Like someone mentioned he took over 2 months to grade a paper. VERY LAZY yet expects us to turn everything in on time when he doesnt at all.
Very nice guy and lenient, but (naturally) doesn't take kindly to those who attempt to take advantage. Exams and quizzes are moderately difficult, but nothing good studying can't take care of. Gives LOTS of freedom on essays and doesn't grade hard, there actually kind of fun if you like writing in the least bit.
Great teacher. Funny, goofy and upbeat. loves Humanities and music. he'll keep you entertained. Test and paper are easy. i barely studied and got a high B in the class. he explains everything very clearly in class. he doesnt joke about attendence and cell phone usage and dont walk out of class without getting his attention. other than that great!
I would loved to have him as my professor in HUM I. Dr. Fleischmann knows what he teach. His classes are so interesting. Listen, take notes, participate and enjoy! He is such a gentleman. Academically educated, well mannered, well versed and witty. Love him!
Took prof. for 2210, 2230. BEST World Humanities teacher at TCC! Don't try to leave class early, text- RUDE in general and he doesnt like it!! Class is pretty easy, 2 papers, exams (study notes moderaterately). Attendance mandatory.
Overall Awesome..I learned alot about the different types of Jazz and Blues..I would take him over again, he's very helpful and well give time to complete his assignments... He's very funny and has made skills on the piano as well..
This professor is awesome! You get to miss 4 classes, but you wont even need them. He makes you want to come to class, he is funny and makes the class entertaining. Just take notes and you will pass his tests =] quizzes are online. Definitely take his class!!!
This is a good class to take. Professor is very intelligent about the material and very helpful to all his students. Make sure to turn your phone off and dont leave early.... besides its rude anyways
He was an awesome teacher. His class was my favorite. He keeps you entertained the whole time. I would definitely take his class again.
He is AWESOME!! Very helpful and very passionate and knowledgeable about the subject. Just be sure to take notes and study them! I aced his class with little prior knowledge of music history! Definitely a Awesome professor!
He is awesome! he has a great passion for the subject, and makes class interesting. As long as you show up and take good notes you'll do fine!
Was a pleasure having class with this professor he made it fun and interesting.
There is a lot of work for an online class. Made the comment multiple times that he thought this was the only class I had, but it was fairly easy if you can keep up!
I'm taking Humanities 1 now, and I have to say, this is my favorite class so far in my three semesters here at TCC. The classes are lectures, but they are more like hilarious conversations about the subject. You'll never get bored in this class, and the teacher is really nice and funny. You won't regret having this teacher, unless you text in class
Great guy and witty! Lecture, take notes, online quiz, 2 essays (that are mainly your educated opinion), and exams. All pretty straight forward, no lame group projects or their likes. 4 free absences. What more could a legitimate college student ask for?
3 Online quizzes, 3 exams(1 was online), 2 opinion based essays. Super easy to like. NO BOOK. Easy to listen to and take notes. Very nice and tries to help any way possible.! :)
Loved his class! He makes learning interesting and he has a great quirky personality
Great teacher, very helpful, witty, and funny. Taking another course he teaches.
Amazing professor!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cares about his students. He goes above and beyond. Also he's the director of the HONORS PROGRAM at TCC so he will advise you if you ask nicely!!!!!!!!!!!!
He's a really great guy overall and he makes class funny. you have to take notes each class and you have to come to class but not too many assignments. The assignments he does assign he gives you the whole semester to finish he isn't a hard grader at all !
He is so awesome! Although he is kind of slow at grading, the assignments are really no big deal. I took his online 2016 summer class and got an easy A. There were a lot of assignments to do and a lot of papers, but they were honestly pretty easy if you followed the guidelines. Super cool guy! I highly recommend him.
He is an ok professor, kind of all over the place but very easy! I wasn't really interested in music at all, just took for a req. He has the honors program so he is very busy all the time. Quizzes due before each exam (fairly easy). 2 1500word essays due (one listening journal so attendance is mandatory) He is a very fair grader though!
Amazing professor. Gives you everything you need for the tests. Just show up and pay attention to the lectures and write notes and you will pass.
Great professor! NEVER talk while he's teaching, he hates it. His class is very straightforward: Come to class, take notes, match them with the study guides, take the quizzes, and do your best work on the papers and you'll ace it! if you miss cass make sure to get notes from someone YOU CANT PASS WITHOUT THE NOTES
Really nice teacher/ willing to work with you after class/ passionate about music history/ take good notes and you will do great on tests/ FIRST couple of lectures are really important and play a role in the rest of class/ Focus on what he says and less on powerpoints/ TONS OF NOTES/ Funny/ no talking or texting in class or he will loose it :)
He is wild. Super outgoing and repeats the same jokes. Take this class in a 6week session its super easy. Dont use your phone in class or get up to leave, it really makes him mad.
I enjoyed taking him as a professor! attendance matters, do not leave early. He is very laid back and easy to work with. most of the quizzes are on the test so make sure to study those. Fast grader. made funny jokes in class! He is awesome at teaching his material and you can tell he is very passionate about his teachings. take notes!
I took his music history class and he isn't very good at explaining what he wants when it comes to writing assignments and make sure to take notes because the study guide he gives isn't very helpful. Don't leave class early or he will mark you absent. Also he bluffs about attendance ( I've skipped more than 5 times) and you have to do 3 essays.
This is the second time I've taken him. I'm not a fan of the way he treats the students. Very condescending , wouldn't recommend.
The work and tests were not very difficult and I enjoyed the material taught in this class, but I didn't appreciate the way he talked to the students. He was very condescending anytime someone would ask a reasonable question.
This guy is bomb. Super chill, really funny, and knows what he's talking about. I took this class at 8am, and he was always commiserating with us about the time. Jazz is also a super interesting class, and there was almost no homework. He doesn't enforce attendance, but lectures were really interesting, so coming to class is definitely worth it.
Let's just say he is very unorganized and unpredictable. the syllabus didn't have any dates.. when you ask him he wouldn't give us a clear answer and he would have an attitude. had a very "I know everything you know nothing" demeanor. He even told us he would fail a kid who was smoking a juul simply be he could.. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.
I enjoyed the class, very straightforward and organized online, predicable. You know what is expected once you get into the hang of things. Just make sure you read, and keep up with it.
He was condescending and rude when asked reasonable questions. He gave very vague instructions on every assignment, thus making it necessary to ask questions. He seemed like he couldnt be bothered with helping his students out when we had questions. He is also a very unpredictable grader. Horrible professor, I would not recommend to anyone.
Emails: Doesn't respond well/will ignore them until last minute. 9/10 will take your ?'s out of context. Grading: not terrible but if he considers it to be a quote even if it is the fact of a statement that can't be changed/would otherwise no longer be correct, he will give a low score. Assignments and Exams 85% over discussions and quizzes 15%.
Honestly he has the potential to bee a good prof. but he just lacks the human ability we like to call consideration. He doesn't really respond to emails until he feels like it gets a response. He might be a nice person but as a prof. absolutely NOT. Most profs. want to see their students with better grades, he literally could not care less.
This class had more assignments and work than any other class I have taken and am close to the end of my AA. It was worse than my 6 math classes. Alot of the assignments are not aligned with the book, but you still need to read it for the few assignments that are. Unless you have time on your hands, I do not recommend this professor.
I mean don't get me wrong, he's a nice prof... but he literally waited until the last 3 weeks of the summer semester to give us our first test. I'd say that's very unorganized! We met 4 days a week and he still waited a whole 2 months before giving us our test... now he's trying to cram the rest of the material before the semester is over.
DO NOT TAKE THIS MAN! HE IS RUDE AND DOESN'T CARE IF YOU FAIL THE CLASS, HE IS VERY UNORGANIZED AND DOESNT MAKE SENSE IN ANY OF HIS ASSIGNMENTS. FIRST HORRIBLE PROFESSOR, I TAKE AT TCC
I took his class on zoom bc of COVID and it was interesting. His lectures consist mostly of him going off on tangents and it usually has nothing to do with class content. He barely assigns ANYTHING which might sound good but he was very unorganized and I didnt know what my grade would be in the class I wouldnt take again.
He is incapable of teaching online classes. Does not like answering questions and will talk down on you ask them. The little assignments he does give out he gives out with little explanation or guidance.
If he asks the class a question and no one answers in the first 5 seconds, he freaks out and calls us slackers and accuses us of not listening when we just don't know the answer. DO NOT ask a question because he views that as disrespectful and rude. He claims you can ask questions at the end but when you do he thinks you weren't listening.
I don't know why he still has a job based off all of these bad reviews. All of the reviews are true and I will not recommend this guy to anyone at all. He does not care about his students at all. He doesn't reply to any emails or messages but can post announcements. He assigns a lot of work way too much and he just flat out sucks. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!
He is rude to students and will not answer questions. He never told us about a final exam no matter how much we asked then he assigned an exam on Wednesday of finals week and it was due Friday. He told us that attendance was mandatory and had a discussion board after class every week but at the end of the semester he made all the DBs worth 0%.
Despite taking Prehistory-16th Century, we've been talking about Greece for the entire semester. We had 2 weeks of prehistory, and 2-3 weeks of Egypt. It's nearly the end of the semester and we're still talking about Socrates! There's no homework, and his personality can make going to class difficult. Many unfunny and unsolicited jokes await.
This professor was hands down the worst one Ive ever had. He is rude and then encourages you to ask questions but then when you ask he wont fail to turn down your question and then continue to embarrass you in front of the class. And the fact that half of his class doesnt show up but is rude to the students who show up amazes me.
Worst professor, while he clearly knows his material, he cannot handle people well. He is very defensive to any questions and makes you feel stupid for asking questions, even if he was wrong.
He is rude to his students and will not not answer questions. He encourages his students to answer questions but gets defensive when you ask it. He knows the material very well but he does not handle people well. He does go off on tangents but he goes back to his lectures.
Awful, absolutely awful! He forgot to post most of the assignments and didn't even post the midterm until 2 weeks before the end of the class, and is now trying to cram the last half a semester into a week and a half. Never teaches, only tells you to read the book, and doesn't give you any grading criteria. RUN!!! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS
Took this as an asynchronous class so remotely online. He's def a busy guy he will grade things towards the end of the semester. Go on Quizlet to search for studying for the exam quiz and real exam. "HUM2529 Exam Quiz Guide 2021" is the most updated version other ones are good but that one is the best.
The worst professor ever. I hope he reads this and if you are, resign from teaching please. Adds assignments in the middle of the week at night, gets defensive about questions you ask, assigns a bunch of stuff but does not thoroughly read students submissions, changes and adds due dates at random times, very unorganized and unprofessional. shameful
Horrible class, do not take it. His assignments are ridiculous. Do not take this class unless you already know a lot about music and how it works. His word count requirements are ridiculous. I can answer most of his questions in 10 words or less, yet he requires 500 words for example. His instructions on assignments are never clear.
Easy going professor who helped make my semester a little bit lighter. He uses humor to help keep the class together (even if nobody laughs at his jokes). Great professor 10/10 recommend taking a course with him.
Only used textbook for the first 2 weeks of class. When asked questions was very defensive about it and yet wouldn't further explain what I needed help with. No actual teaching he gives assignments and makes you figure out what he expects after its graded. late on grading homework as well as posting assignments.
This guy was great, although he didn't reach out to students about any missing assignments. He took late work up until the last day, which was so incredible for me for a boatload of personal reasons. My only complaint is that some of his assignments were very confusing if you've never done anything along the lines of it.
Professor Fleischmann is an amazing teacher. I took his Jazz class and he made it very fun and enjoyable for the whole class. His humor really carries the class and he loves showing funny YouTube videos to help you better understand the material. There were only a couple assignments throughout the semester that we had to complete.
I took this class as an elective because I am graduating and transferring next semester and I made the biggest mistake of my life. This class is super boring and there are 400-600 word assignments due every week on top of a discussion board and whatever else he has assigned. The book is really expensive and he wait until last minute to grade.
Professor Fleischman tends to go off on a rant and doesn't explain the material clearly. I had to teach myself most of the course material, and his expectations of students weren't fair. He teaches as if most of his students are music majors when, in reality, they are taking it as a required humanities course. I don't recommend him at all.
I loved being in his class! For exams, he gives a "quiz" and "exam", both of which are able to be taken 2 times, which really helped me work on my areas that needed improvement. Had late homework, which he allowed me to resubmit to get rid of my 0s. Would reccomend!
He gives attendance questions but they say they are 0% of the grade. He only teaches through lecture with slideshows and gets off topic very easily. The information is easy to retain but it takes forever for him to get through the content.
A horrible teacher.
While the professor can be disorganized, using unstuck AI and the course textbook helped me stay on top of the work. The assignments are challenging but manageable with the right study tools.
I adore professor Fleischmann, I always look forward to his lectures and talking after class. He is very engaging and you can see that he really enjoys teaching about humanities. He is an amazing professor if you are neurodivergent, or just prefer a more loose structured class.
He does long lectures the whole class with little information on the power point, (like he's teaching of the top of his head so there isn't much information on the powerpoint). We have no assignment work only quizzes and exams. He's very chatty and rambles a lot.
One of the worst professors I've had here. Doesn't respond to emails and doesn't post important info on canvas. Do not take this class and if you do have to take it on line. His lectures are very boring and he spends a majority of the class talking about things that are meaningless like tv shows he likes food he likes to eat. Terrible -10/10
