If you are truly interested in getting an education, this teacher is right for you. He has been educated in Europe and has great perspective on what he is talking about. He has willingness to teach; he is very approachable. His exams are comprehensive, you need to thoroughly review to pass.

He knows his stuff and is pretty clear however, his test are hard and if you don't like studying or aren't good in math then don't take the class. He will do his best to help you but it is ultimately up to you to study and do well- read all of his notes as well as the chapter and DO NOT FALL BEHIND.

I had him 2 years ago and he is a fair teacher but hard.He knows the subject but he sometimes explains things more complicated than they actually are when they are easier ways to explain it. Back then, you had to really study the book and practice the CD ROM questions. Got a B. Advise, be prepared to work and study if you are taking him.

He is Very helpful but you have to be able to keep up. Alot of book usage.

Dr. Foran knows his material. If you're looking to skate through this class, think again. Some students complain about the difficulty but it's really essential that business majors master micro/macro before moving on to 3000-level courses. He is a great guy, get on his good side and you're golden. I spend 5+ hrs per week studying a have a high A.

Foran is a really nice guy and he teaches straight forward. However, the tests are a killer. Foran tries to help anyone that asks for it. If taking the class don't understudy and never leave until you have an understanding of the topic.

This class is difficult, but no matter which teacher you take it with it's just the simple fact that the material is very challenging. Head to his office and Dr. Foran will walk you through any little thing you need help with, and he will always give you test reviews. Make sure you STUDY HARD. I worked my butt off and ended up with an A!

He is a very good professor, know his stuff and plays favorites. So try to show him something in the beginning and he will help you a lot. Content is not easy if you are not good with algebra. He is very picky with the assignments.

Dr. Foran is an excellent professor, and I would definitely take him again if he taught more courses. I highly recommend this professor to students who are serious about academics and plan on transferring to serious universities. Anyways, be prepared to work very hard and learn a ton of things in his class.

If you are a business major he is the best teacher. Hard but after his class the door is open. He will give you the base for future carrier. MDC should be proud to have such an excellent professor.

Took his virtual course, not a lot of work assigned. Quiz per chapter, 3 Tests, writing assignment & Final. If you read the material & have a good understand of Economics you should do well. Does have calculation questions on tests & Final

He is funny, but the class is not so easy. He always show you the exmaple of the exam, so if u reviw and practice the examples he gives to u, u will get a high score.

I am taking the online class now. The class is not easy at all, but he is fair in his grading and is really helpful if you have any questions. There are no tests just 4 essays and a final term paper. If you are good at writing and prefer it to tests I suggest taking it with this professor.

Good professor. Homework assignments are online and are based on the concepts and application of the lecture(s) taught in class, so EASY homework grade DO THEM ALL. He explains the material well enough. 3 papers must be completed to pass the class (3 pages long at most). DEFINITELY TAKE HIM if you're good at math.

It's an easy class if you review, do homework, and take notes. He doesn't do ANYTHING out of the book. If you aren't stupid and are disciplined, you will do great

I do not know why he has such a low rating. I took the class online, and if you do what your suppose too do you will pass. there are quizzes and hw that are about the same. the only two exams are proctered midterm and final, but if u put in the time, you will pass, and he even tries too help you out with extra credit. DO the work, and you'll be ok.

He is really good and clear, study from the class notes and you will be fine. Attendance is not mandatory but I recomend you going to every class

If you go to his class, and study from your notes. care about your homework, you will A's the class, I heard bad things about him and after taking his class I realized that depends on you , if you do a nice effort he will help u out. I wish I can't take more classes with him in the future. he is great.

He actually teaches you microeconomics if you are willing to learn. He's very funny and cares about his students learning the material.

Not sure what the fuss is. Yeah he assigns homework but it gets you ready for the midterm and final. I had an A throughout, allowed me to make up some assignments as long as I followed the guidelines. At the end also issued extra credit points on end of chapters. Overall great professor, made the subject interesting but you will need to devote time

He is a great teacher. If you fall behind you'll probably fail the class. If you do the homework, you should pass. If you pay attention on the lectures and take notes you'll be fine. He helps every student. You have to have a good Algebra background, otherwise you'll fell lost all the semester.A lot of solving problems.

I like him a lot but I wish his lectures focus more on the exercises and less in talking stuff about the book I can learn in Mind tap. He gives you a problem and lets you figure it out instead of him showing you first . I love math but I find it hard to put the problem solving together in this class. Please more time in the exercises less talking.

Excellent professor!!! After I checked this pages and the bad comments for this professor I was going to drop the class, but it was going to be a mistake, Prof. Foran is an Excellent teacher, he is clear, he help you during class, and on the test too, he answered your email, but you have to know about slope and functions and understand the concept

great professor i had prior economics experience in highschool so i didnt need the book how ever generally he explains everything clearly and works with the students

This class is not for lazy students. the prof is fair. Just do your work,he is helpful. of course if you're not disciplined you won't like him. the material is challenging , but do your work and you'll ace it

He got this low rating because undisciplined student always like easy professors. of course if youre lazy you're not gonna like him. He explains well. He acts like a tutor sometimes. His tests are a little difficult, but you'll be okay if you do all the online homework

very recommended for business student. He teaches you macroeconomic clearly

Professor Foran is a great professor and really knows his stuff! He has a good sense of humor and uses things students can relate with to explain his lessons. Amazing professor if you're a Business major. Lessons can sometime seem a bit long and boring but there is always something interesting. Also, he teaches the practical side of economics! :)

This professor seems fairly laid back. He is not a push over but he is willing to work with you. I had an incident in which my internet cut off mid quiz and he allowed me to retake it with no problem. He always responds to emails, though it usually takes between 24-48 hours. I enjoyed his class enough to also take him next semester for ECO2301.

By far one of my favorite teachers i've had. He makes a hard subject easy with all his examples that really pull together the material. Two tests, mid-term and final, but if you read and don't miss class you'll make it. DONT MISS THE APLIAS they will make you or break you. I definitely recommend his class if you're down to learn. He's the best! :)

He is a great professor, the best I've had in MDC, it's not the class that you will pass only by showing up, but come on, it's not a high school, grow up! His lectures are very interesting, he gives enough practice exercises bore the exam. Homework is essential and there is a lot of it, but it only helps to understand the subject.

Professor Foran is a wonderful facilitator but he expects you to study and practice. Do not expect him to baby sit you;however he is not harsh and easy to talk to. If you do your homework and practice you will pass. This is not an easy class especially if you do not like or struggle with math and concepts.

I just took him for Spring this year and I preferred him over my last professor for ECO2013. He actually engages with you in class and makes the class interesting to learn. He gives to 2 test during the semester, worksheets to work in class and study with and cengageNOW hw to complete at home. If you want to learn he's the professor.

He is a great professor. It's very easy to pass this class, all work is online.

This professors is one of the best professors I have had in all my years at dade(3 years) he helped me everytime i emailed him, he would send weekly announcements throughout the course with key points, and helped us prepare for the midterms. He is very understanding with life situations and really extends a helping hand when needed. Great professor

Great professor, if you want to learn Micro this is the class to be in. Study everything, come to class and do your homework, as easy as that.

Well rounded and well informed professor. Gives good lectures and makes class go by fast while actually learning. Very good at explaining things and simplifies terms. Very easy to talk to and responds to emails. Homework is critical and you must do your part. Would and will take him again.

He made the class very pleasant, great sense of Humor and great examples you can relate to. He explained microeconomics in a way that made me fall in love with it!

The best professor ever at MDC! I took two classes ECO2023 and ECO2013 with him and I learned a lot. This class is not for lazy students. If you like to study you will not regret it.

Take GOOD notes in class. Tutoring and youtube videos will also come in handy. Understand the meaning of the terms well and Practice with a lot of graphs in your free time. The exams will be much more challenging and incorporate a lot of graphing and calculations, as well as multiple choice questions on the concepts. The more you study the better!

Robert is a good guy

I really enjoyed myself in that class. He is a great teacher in my opinion. His lectures are not very focused on the book, but more on applying what we learn in real life scenarios when it comes to economics. To keep it short, if you go to class, do the work and ask question, and I mean seriously ASK QUESTIONS, the class should not be too difficult

I dreaded taking his class after reading his reviews here but these people are crazy! I had to take his online class because of COVID and he gave very good lectures. He explains things clearly and never singles people out or tried to make you feel bad for not knowing. Extremely flexible- would let you make up work. Extra credit. All around good guy

Economics is a very difficult subject for me and even though this was an online course, he made sure to provide good textbook material. He does have a proctored final worth 33% of your grade, if you do good on the hw with a B and up and fail the final, you might be able to pass with a C but study hard for the final!

Prof Foran is THE best prof I've had at MDC. You need to pay attention and put in effort to do well, but he gives you all the tools you need to succeed. Homework is the majority of your grade, one small project, and a final. He has great lectures and never makes you feel stupid for asking a question. I will be taking him again for ECO2023!

Great professor. You WILL learn if you pay attention. If you don't its up to you to read the material on the online textbook. Relates the economics class to current world topics which makes the class engaging. Final exam was hard but not too hard if you thoroughly studied and paid attention in class. HW is a large sum of grade and is online weekly.

Great Class, if I had more time to study I would have done better on the midterm. There's 1 easy assignment due every 3 days, which to me was very manageable. Professor Foran send messages almost daily to remind us to do the assignments, which I very much appreciated. Good choice for a teacher!

The assignments are challenging, but Professor Foran provides the tools to succeed if you stay engaged. Unstuck ai and the textbook were helpful for study prep. Overall, a rewarding class with a knowledgeable instructor.

Professor helped me expand my ways of learning. Just do your homework and your good!
