Best Chem instructor I've ever had.

He is easy, all you have to do is show up to class and take very GOOD notes. He even allows a 5x7 card for all tests and a 8x11.5 sheet of paper for the FINAL.

Everything in his lecture is included in his tests so take good notes! Study his previous tests posted on the web since they are exactly the same but with different numbers. Do all your homework and you'll do fine. Very easy A.

Everything everybody says is true, he keeps class interesting. He's well organosed. Uses alot of practical examples for all the visual/spatial learners. Yes you get to use a 3x5 card (Clutch!!). Tests are pretty much cut and paste from the homework. Do it, it pays off!!! Didn't need the lab and it still went well.

I really didnt like chem before I took his class, now I really enjoy chemistry and learning how everything works and why it works the way it does. He is a great teacher, very helpful and makes it easier for us to understand. his previous test are posted and actual test are similar but just write down all the notes and include them on the notecard!

An amazing chem teacher. Like others said he's laid back, funny, explains the material well and tells jokes and stories just to make the class more interesting. Works well with you to understand the material. He posts old exams on the web that help you prepare for exams coming up. Wish he was teaching chem 200

The chemistry professor to take. He moves at a quick pace without feeling like we're rushing. Excellent explanations and a wonderful primer for Chem 200. Try to get in his class if you can.

Very pleased with this instructor. Always prepared; no surprises. If taking him for lab, be prepered to keep a tedious lab-notebook. For our notebook we had to photocopy pages out a lab manual and then tape them into a spiral notebook; a waste of time. Other than that A+

Chemistry use to be my most hated subject in highschool until i had this teacher. Best professor ive ever had. Very understanding and explains very well. He enjoys teaching. Never a moment i dazed off in his class like i do in all my other classes. He makes chemistry FUN and INTERESTING!

Good teacher. Pretty good sense of humor. Had a few tests. Allowed students to work some problems in class then went through problem with us to help us understand it.

Funny, helpful, clear, laid-back, intelligent... absolutely no complaints. He made the class fun, also applied the subject material to real life to pique interest. Almost always available in his office to help or tell your grade. Doesn't care about attendance, homework is online, and tests reflect HW and lectures accurately.

easiest class. review of high school chem but simplfied. Easy grading scale 85% is an A, LAb is freaking easy. Gives a take home test. Online homework was free 10% boost. This is a great class to prepare yourself for chem 200. When i took chem 200, it was a breeze cuz fremland covered it all. TAKE HIM FOR LAB AND LECTURE!!!

Rob Fremland isn't just a great teacher but a great person. He explains every section in a way that makes it easy to understand. Nomeclature is a pain in the butt, but he wrote his own book on it. His lectures are always entertaining but on track, he didn't miss any material and I'm definitely ready for General Chemistry!

85% is an A. Teaches clearly, assuming you have never taken Chem before. Tests are fair, NOT hard. Good on partial credit. Take him.

"do the homework!" this is a class that demands time and effort. i wouldn't say that this is a extremely hard class, but if you slack off and don't do the homework i could see this class becoming very hard. This is is great teacher who genuially wants you to succed. He makes class interesting with his wittiness. Hw is not mandatory but I definitely recommend doing it. Great proffesor. I actually enjoyed chemistry while taking his class. He makes lectures enjoyable. Course work isn't too hard it just takes some study time to get the hang of it. He does tend to rush the lectures in order to stay on track which was a bit frustrating but overall he was great! 4 exams and a cumulative final.

Professor Fremland is the best Chem professor at Mesa! I only had him for lab, but I wish I could've had him for lecture as well. I learned more from him than I did from my lecture professor. Fremland is an excellent lecturer and is there to help if you don't understand. It is important to attend lecture, because he is much more clear than the book, writes on the board and will indicate what you need to know for tests. Homework is assigned as a study tool only. He also gives reviews and provides past tests to study from.

Thank god for Robert!!! Chemistry has been the toughest subject for me. He really knows his stuff, and he is halarious and keeps the class fun and interesting. The homework is out of the book, only 15 homework assignments and you usually get a whole week for one and they are not bad at all. He provides practice exams that are just like the exams.

Currently taking his CHEM 111L class. Took another chem lecture class over a year ago. So I was worried I wasn't going to remember anything. Quiz every week about the Lab you're going to do that day. Labs done that week are turned in the next week. Easier grader and extremely helpful and understanding. Take this class for CHEM 11L, you wont regret

He has a good personality and is easy going which makes his chem class nice to come to. Tests are straight forward and not tricky and he gives some points for doing hw. I enjoyed his lectures and board notes. jokesr even funny

I liked rob a lot. highley reccommended. he is there for you, and tried hard to make sure you get the material. He also tries to make this chem journey as least but pain staking as it needs to be. He even has a few good jokes once in awhile lol. Good grader and his office hours were super helpful. I Always did good on exams too. Take him for lec&lb

I came into this class hating chemistry and now I am done with this class and I want to switch my major to chemistry. Take him you will not regret it.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! He is so funny, nice, helpful and really good at explaining things he is the best chemistry professor i have ever had. Chemistry is really hard but with rob you will get an A and understand everything if you actually put in the work.

Take him for lab!!! Take home midterm and open lab notebook for the final. No extra credit. Show up for every lab or your grade will take a big hit. As long as you put in a couple hours of work outside of class you can get a B/A easy.

THIS CLASS IS HARD!! Unless you have previous experience with chemistry your going to need to put in 6+ hours outside of class studying a week just to get a B. An A is 85%. Btw if your someone who doesn't show up to class don't bother enrolling, he doesn't use any online tools & you will be lost the next day if you miss just one class.

this prof gives an insane amount of time to his students, his dedication is incredible. take chem 152 with him & youll pass. review previous exams & go to office hours, hes so helpful and has so much patience. hes so funny thats the main reason i showed up. wish i could write more. take him for lecture & lab and you wont regret it. hes exceptional!

He is a very passionate about his lectures, if you have questions he will answer them until you get it. He really does try to make it easy for you, well as easy as chemistry could be. He won't mark you down for attendance, but if you miss a class is gonna be tough to get the material even if you try and do it by yourself.

Prof. Fremland is by far one of the best professors I've ever taken a course from. I had him for both lecture/lab and his office hour availability to clarify and answer questions alone is one of the reasons I succeeded well in his course. He has been teaching for so long and just gets it. I would take other Chem courses from him in a heartbeat.

He really makes things make sense. Will answer any question, with patience, even if he already told you the answer before. Talented and caring. This is a lab, you must attend and do the work. If you miss class you have to make it up with other profs. He is very willing to allow you to make up another prof's lab in his lab. Wants students to succeed

I really loved this professor. He is super funny and always cracking dad jokes. He's insanely chill and laid back, super flexible with due dates, honestly just wants his students to succeed. It was an easy class and I wish I needed more chem credits so I could take him again.

Professor Fremland is absolutely incredible! I took chem with a different professor before and i couldnt understand it. But Fremland made it 100x easier for me to understand. He is super funny, super knowledgeable and is very understanding when it comes to homework and labs. He is very chill, he's like a child at heart. Wish he would teach 200!

A great professor! Everything he teaches in lecture is clear, the homework is really easy, he lets you turn in your homework late and drops the lowest homework grade. Test are really similar to the practice exams he provides so definitely recommend doing the practice exams! No quizzes!

Such a great professor. He's approachable, nice to chat with, and will take the time to help you if you ask. He really cares and wants you to do well in his class. He always has a funny story or a joke to tell in his lectures. I totally recommend him. You will learn a lot!

I love his class so much. He always tries to make it easy to understand for me. He is also nice to answer all the questions about my lab even though he was not my lab instructor. He is hilarious, his joke will help you remember the lesson better. Take him, show up, do homework and get an A. It is an easy class for me.

he is the best professor I've taken so far, EVER! he is a funny guy, makes chemistry so much fun with pop up jokes that cracks you up ( and wakes you up lol). if you do his homework on your own, show up his class and take notes of EVERYTHING he writes on the board(and study it for the exam), you are most likely gonna get an A. good luck:)

He is in all a great Professor and is hilarious! Great family oriented man. Chemistry is a very tough subject, he might be a bit confusing sometimes. He can get really chatty and off topic but means well. Love his personality! I really struggled in his class. Take him if you are a fast learner and want to have fun. I just couldn't follow as fast.

Very easily accessible during his office hours and willing to work with you if you have problems. Was very understanding amidst the pandemic and his partially online course worked for me. Be prepare to take plenty of notes and study as his exams are worth 90% of your grade while homework only takes 10%. No extra credit in this class.

Highly recommend. If you have any questions he will answer them for you and help you understand why you got something wrong. Lectures are also very good, despite remote learning.

If you need a painless A, totally take him!

I can't say enough good things about Rob!! He is truly the best chemistry professor in San Diego. Assignments are very clear and if you screw up on a deadline or turning the right thing in, he is understanding and reasonable. I was dreading taking chem but Rob makes me want to take another chem class just so I could have him as a professor again!!

Was a very laid-back lab instructor. Very friendly, chatty, and forgiving. Exams were hard though and your grade was dependent on them. There were only two of them as well. Besides that, an overall gem!

Chemistry has always been a subject Ive struggled with, but this proff makes it all so easy. His lectures are really clear and is always willing to help.

Considering this was my first ever chemistry class I have taken, Professor Fremland made it really easy to learn. Only met on Tuesdays for prelab quizzes and in-class activities. Lectures are powerpoints and videos on youtube. As long as you do the hw you will do fine on the exams. An 85 is an A in his class so it is pretty easy to pass.

Professor Fremland is the best . Even though we were online he was really easy to contact and would responds emails within a day. He uploads the lecture so you can go to your own pace. On zoom he explains and if you have questions he is really helpful and will do the problem right with you. If you study the homework, study guides youll do great.

Before taking the class I used to hate chemistry, I took the class because it is required for graduation, finally I got to understand what Chemistry is all about, I learned so much. He will explain over and over any point that needs clarification in a very simple way. The B grade is due to my old age :).

He is great I would highly recommend his class. What could have been a super dry class with no actual labs was actually interesting with the videos he made for it. 10/10

Everyone! He is one of the best professors that I have studied with. Although online learning materials are tough, please don't let these stress or affect your academic performance. Tips: feel free to ask him if you have any questions; he will try his best, go above and beyond his limits to explain them to you clearly.

Loved this class, you can see the professor enjoys teaching chemistry. The professor is always there to help students when they have a question and the dad jokes he says during class helped me (in some way) stay more engaged in the lecture. Sadly, this is my last semester and I cannot change my major to chemistry since it is too late.

Rob was a pretty great professor. He broke everything down to basics and made things make sense but if you skip lectures or dont pay attention you will fall behind. Only about 1 hw assignment a week and 4 tests + the final. Only used the textbooks for some hw problems. Tests are challenging but not hard. Overall great professor, would take again.

Great chem prof! His test questions are easy as long as you attend his lecture or read his powerpoint. He gives study guides that are really helpful. Throws jokes sometimes on class. Easy A as long as you review for the exams.

He is such a good, he is not strict and is very kind! He will help you understand chemistry! I am actually very knowledgeable now. I did have to self teach at times because he does kinda treat you like you are already supposed to know the stuff but he helps you at office hours! Take advantage of those!

Professor Fremland is genuinely a great and caring professor you will have. He tells very corny jokes. He is very understanding, he will take the time to go over anything you need during his office hours. His class is easy once you do the work. It is test-heavy but as long is if you do the homework, you can pass the exams.

HE THE BEST AND THE EASIEST (for chem 111A). I literally hate chemistry so much but he actually makes the class really fun. his personality really helps me be engaged and come to class. Hw and test all bases on in class lecture. Participation only counts for coming to class and in- class discussions

Cons: Lectures too fast, doesn't proof read homework, goes on too many tangents, class drags on Pros: drops the lowest grade of each homework, reading assignment, and exam. Funny, office hours is very helpful for one on one work. He's a pro and you can tell when you take him. He's also open to changing scores on exams/homework if you appeal them.

Prof. Fremland is very easy to follow and understand in his lectures. He goes at a good pace and always answers questions thoroughly. He is very clear on assignments and what is going to be on exams. The lowest exam grade will be dropped as well as the lowest homework assignment. Take his class!

Such a great professor! His lectures were easy to understand, interesting, and fun. His lab is the same! I wish he taught CHEM200. Exams were just like the old exams he posts from the past, so study with those. He is also caring and understanding if you have questions or problems.

He is incredible; if you have any questions, he will walk you through them. He is passionate about the subject and wants you to succeed. There is a lot of homework, but it is easy if you go to lecture. Nothing on tests is a surprise, he went over all of it in class and designated the day before tests to review days. Also so funny I laugh every day!

Professor Fremland is great! His lectures are helpful, and he's always willing to explain things in office hours. I found Unstuck ai really useful for study prep alongside the textbook.

this teacher is great. Lectures can definitely seem boring sometimes but professor Fremland always makes sure that students understand the materials. He gives pre test so its helpful for the actual exams. Exams are similar to homeworks and pre test. I highly recommend this professor

Such a helpful professor! Accepts late work all semester. Don't fall behind though. I withdrew because I failed to catch up on late work fast enough & was struggling in my lecture. He always worked 1 on 1 with me when I needed help. Easy A, if you stay caught up in your lecture & just finish lab reports. Gives 1 makeup lab & drops lowest. No exams!

He is the GOAT for science professors. Honestly the blueprint of what you think of when you think "cool science teacher"
