easy class strait forward funny buy study guide
Is a straight forward republican. Good teacher, pretty easy but will be blunt
not flexible, very blunt, and hard to get along with. all you got to do is try.
Good teacher, but very discouraging. He's one bitter old man!
Republicans are not as smart as Democrats. It is prove with IQ. Crazy!!!!!!!
Just study the guide...really easy
No Comments
Very clear. Dont buy book, but buy the study guide.Test is exact same questions
My favorite teacher here so far, gives you essay questions, easy A.

very c;ear on material, study guide is exactly the test. Class attendance is a must to do well. Minimal effort needed.
easy A. just buy study guide, tests are easy. gives essay questions. dry (but funny) humor. USA is number 1.
funny guy but acts like a jerk sometimes. gives question to essay before test. ez class.
he's a pretty funny guy. my friend has a thing for his hands.
He's a good instructor. Easy, because he basically gives you a concise study guide to study from.
One of the Best teachers at state. Although I only receieved a C+ I only attend 4 lectures and never studied for the tests or read from the book. The tests are in that little paperback book he assigns. Funny.
Really easy. His tests are in the packet that is all you have to study. I received a C but I didn't study that hard. I regret it now could have easily received a B.
His class was not difficult as long as you went, but he did have a very short temper and did not explain the material in the book very well.
was he a drill instructor?
God Bless SDSU for hiring a token Republican! Yeah he is tough at times and doesn't take ****. But you learn, and he is fair. He is arrogant, and hot temper at times, but I liked him. He knows his **** and brings high energy to his lectures. Easy &qu
He is probably the easist MicroEcon instructor, I recommend taking him. However, he is very rude and hard to approach. There is no need to buy the book if you go to class. But just make sure you go to every class or else get the notes from someone.
Horrible teacher...one of the worst on campus. Very rude, and not to mention bias. Go to class and you can do ok, but don't ever talk against his extreame right winged politics, or you will regret it!!! Not recommended at all...
Greatest econ teacher I have ever had!! He was very helpful and he taught things the way you could understand!!
He has a good teaching style that is easy to understand, you MUST go to class and take GOOD notes (which I did and I may not even receive a "c" in the class. There are three tests, un-curved and the class is also uncurved!!
I got a B+ in this class with minimal effort. I went to most classes and took notes, and just reviewed the notes. He spoon-feeds the information to you, so for those that are lazy and don't like to read the book, this is the guy for you. Very easy class.
funny guy good teacher. you have to go to class basis mostly everything on lecture. have taken him twice, and is really helpful with the material. do exactly what he says and you get an A. Hates the Left and Liberals
Not hard if you attend class. I missed more than half the classes and I got a C+...oh yeah, he hates Democrats!! Good Man!!
Gordon is not a bad teacher. He is just very anal. A downside is that he does not give partial credit for ANYTHING. That is what pissed me off the most. He is still 1000x better than Kartman though, so take him for 320. He is not very difficult.
took him for the summer and he was ok. still a punk and hates democrats. just go to class and take notes and don't have to buy the book.
easy teacher, do not need book, easy class to get b with little effort, to get a A need to work little harder... nice guy but sometimes when he is having a bad day tend to yell at his student, recommend to take for good grade
This guy is a total jerk. Makes fun of students. Office hours did not help, he told me to ask another student. Classes are hard. The essay questions are hard. Some times it can be funny, but I dont like going to class. Find a different teacher!!!!
funny guy, pay attention and youl do fine. easily get a b without book
makes econ interesting. only buy his study guide. tests question come right out of it. he's kinda mean, but the class is easy.
Good teacher, maybe a little too outspoken about political affiliation and how he doesn't like students. Helpful in office hours. Pay attention and you'll be fine.
Great teacher, makes sure you understand the material before tests and is very clear. Going to the lecture is the easiest thing to do but he provides a study guide book that has everything outlined. As long as you know what was covered then you can study the material on your own.
A good teacher. He knows the material. Don't need to buy book, but buy study guide. Over half the stuff on test is from study guide. Make sure you go to the lectures. He doesn't think women are smart enough to do anything, but that's ok, I'll take my "A" and become the first woman president!:)
DONT TAKE HIM, HE IS UNHELPFUL, HAS HORRIBLE GRADING METHODS AND HUMILIATES YOU IN HIS CLASS. YOU NEED TO CHEAT TO GET AT LEAST A B UNLESS YOU CAN MEMORIZE WORD FOR WORD HIS ESSAY. AN ENTIRE ESSAY NEEDS TO BE MEMORIZED FOR EVERY TEST. THIS GUY LOVES TO FAIL STUDENTS.
Gordon is a jerk, but he is a funny jerk. He hates cell phones going off in class so don't be annoying and turn yours off. He gets off topic and is very confusing. I wouldn't say that he is a good teacher by any means, but I did learn a little in his class.

HES MEEEEEEAN! And opinionated. But interesting. Dont need book or study guide, just go to class. You HAVE to pay attn, he wont have it any other way. i got an "A", easy. he hates freshmen, and girls, and democrats ie: communists, and frat boys, and......
Class is easy if you memorize the study guide. Do not buy the book, I didn't open it once and then wasn't able to sell it back. Teacher will humiliate kids in class, but he's a funny guy....very sarcastic. Easy B if you study the night before tests. He's missing a finger!!! take this prof for econ
IF you are a republican take this class, if you are a democrat, try to avoid this guy around campus. He hates left wing people and thinks europeans are dirty communists. I loved every minute of his class and got an easy B. Just make sure you dont get caught doing anything wrong in his class. Peac

i reccomend this guy to anyone! it is the easiest class...all you have to do is buy the study guide and study it. You don't have to go to class and you can still get an easy A or B. Plus he is frieken hillarious!
total jerk. picks on kids, and hates cell phone going off. don't get on his bad side or be a democrat. class was ok.
Great teacher if youre not democrat or female.Makes the class fun even when he's picking on you, trust me he'll pick you.If you don't understand something give in and admit it when he asks or you'll look stupid.Just pay attention or he'll get you.Remember"We're#1,every1 else is not & not even close."
A no B.S. kind of teacher, doesnt take any B.S. either. Just go to class take notes, participate, and sit in front. Only two test, thats it! no homework! Test are lecture notes, chapter, and an essay which he tells you the anwser before. If your not scared of agreesive teacher take this class.

He doesn't like deomocrats. He doesn't like cell phones. He doesn't seem to like teaching. Why does he do it? Probably because he's not good at anything else. The class was mediocre.

Go to class and take notes, study and review it. You can get an A!
2 tests and no homework. He is a little agressive, but he wants you to learn something. I personally believe that other teachers should be more like him without the comments toward foreigners. Instead of the usual liberal viewpoint, it's nice to get the conservative viewpoint for a change. Those that don't like him are democrats and foreigners!
Class is easy enough. He goes over the important material several times, so if you go to class on a regular basis its easy enough to learn it through repetition, especially if you don't get it the first time. He lectures class practically everyday about how stupid students are. Pay attention because he calls on random people to answer questions.
Prof. Gordon exemplifies everything that is right with America. His class is easy and he explains every concept in detail. Democrats beware; your skewed economic beliefs will be proven wrong. Definitely one of the best courses I've ever taken, and one of the funniest, most interesting and knowledgeable people I've ever met.

I'm a democrat and I loved this man. He is one of the funniest professors that I have ever had. The class is pretty difficult. I didn't buy the book, but I went to every lecture and I got a B+. Just go to class, take good notes and don't take his comments to heart and you'll do fine.
Democrats will cry, and republicans will laugh. He says what most people are afriad to say. Class is cake. He tells you exactly what is on the exam and gives you the answer to the essay Q word for word. be ready to go to the board, he picks people out.
Very straight forward professor, tells you what to study, gives essay question to memorize. Seems very bitter at the world, and likes to ridicule. Won't help much, but an easy class. Easy class, but a very unclassy professor, and I'm a Republican!
This class is pretty easy as long as you aren't scared of the teacher. He tells you exactly what to know and all the notes are in the book that he made. Basically follow along and highlight. There are 3 test and they are pretty easy especially if you know the material. Highly recomend
still an easy class to pass but he has tightened up his grading style. no more optional final and not much patial credit.
He is a decent teacher, goes slow and reviews the main points. He puts you on the spot and can make u feel stupid but it forces you to pay attention and do better. Overall, thumbs up!
This class is so easy. Everything you need to know for the test are covered in the notes. I didn't read the book, studied the notes and got an A. He makes sure you know and understand the material. Very good professor. HIGHLY recommended. Easy class.
just know the notes from the lectures and you'll do good on the exams. he makes the lectures go by quick, not all that bad to listen to.

Worst professor i have ever had. Dont take any class with this professor. he shouldnt teach.
He is a good teacher. Histest are not hard if you study you notes. Also if you buy the study guide for the class and do the work problems you will do ok in the class. Towds the middle of the semester he lets you use notes. Pay lots of attention during his lectures, because he tends to pick random people to explain what he is doing in the board.
****, ****, sarcastic, will pick on you if you don't pay attention, funny at times and doesn't know anyones'name. Only 9 short hmwk assignments-but do them right bc he grades hardcore. Tests are decent-either get to use a page of notes or he will give you all the equations. Tests are mult. choice and work-sometimes tricky. No final, just test.
BEST teacher ever! He is hot and has a sense of humor. Tests are cake, you dont even need to study that hard to get an A. He grades very easy too, like he gives As and Bs like candy. Take him, you wont regret it ;)
Wow....this guy is a clown shoe. Ive never had a teacher as horrible as this one before. Easily on my top 3 worst teachers list, and he's #1 on it. If you want a lower GPA, be my guest and take him.
What is wrong with this guy? He can't teach, grades horribly on exams, and doesn't care about students one bit. Someone please fire him!
He's a punk, bottom line. He picks on students b/c it makes him feel better, and b/c it helps pass the time. His tests are straight from his notes in class, but his grading is really tough. I missed an exam b/c I was in the hospital so I had to take the extra comprehensive final which might as well have been in French, so I wouldn't recommend it.
Loves to call people out and make fun of them. He's a hard teacher, and sometimes he made me mad though I did learn a fair amount in his class. His tests are kinda hard. 3 exams. I can't say that I would recommend him unless you don't care about being made fun of.
Worst teacher of all time. Should be fired. He is extremely condecending and likes to put people on the spot. Guarenteed to be made a fool even if you know what you are talking about. He likes to see students squirm. I beg of you please do not take him!
I hated this teacher plain and simple. He was a jerk and had no tolerance for anything or anyone. I do not recommened his class.
if you are a little girl that is going to go home and cry to mommy every time someone tells you something that hurts your fellings, dont take him. he was great. funny. clear. only buy his study guide. if you slack he will put you on the spot. easy class. dont be a baby and enjoy.
cooooooooool!!!!!!
REALLY EASY CLASS.. ONLY BUY STUDYGUIDE, HE TAKES EXAM QUESTIONS STRAIGHT FROM IT. IF YOU DO WELL ON THE FIRST THREE EXAMS YOU DONT HAVE TO GOTO THE FINAL. HE MAKES FUN OF PEOPLE IN CLASS AND CAN BE AN ASS BUT ITS ENTERTAINING. REALLY EASY A.
Easiest class I've taken at state. I had to take econ 101 twice because I failed the first time. I was lucky to get into Gordon's class, he changed my views on economics. Not only did a get an A in his class, I didn't even have to take the final.
as long as your not a baby or a liberal you will like this guy. this class is ridiculously easy the study guide is all you need to buy it has all of the answers to the exams in it so study that and you'll be fine. also he throws out a test so if you do well on the first three you dont have to take the final
This class was super easy, I would highly recommend Prof. Gordon....you must go to class though!! I skipped a few lectures and was lost when it came to the test. Also he doesn't tell you the dates of your exams so you have to go to find out when the tests are. He's funny, makes fun of frat guys and sorority ****s, don't let him offend you!
I honestly went to about 4 or 5 classes (took it on tues nights only) and got a B in this class. Super easy class, I would recommend it to anyone. just review the study guide for tests. he is super funny too, makes fun of everyone. just dont take it personally. loved this class and love him.
Good teacher. Dont buy the book, its useless. Rubs some people the wrong way, but its not a big deal. Absolutely get the study guide as it is his entire lecture along with practice tests, key terms..etc. You need to showup to class every once in a while to find out when the tests are, but other then that its not required. Highly recommend.
Know your material because he will call on you or have another classmate call on you. Def purchase his study guide! Classes were long but flew by! The one thing that I don't like about him is he didn't keep his word with the final grade. Said he'd bump you up if you were a 79.6 and didn't! Overall, he's good.
terrible teacher. i majored in econ and he was the worst teacher i took. i cant believe people learned in his class. take any other teacher!!!!!!
He is the worst teacher I ever seen. He is very mean. He likes to pick on the students and make fun of them. No homework, just 3 exams. His tests are hard. Multiple choice, application problems, graphing, and essay. Most people got D’s on the test. Don’t take him unless you want to lower your GPA. I don’t think he should continue to teacher.
He really is a terrible teacher. Gordon makes it his daily goal in class to put down students and make ****s statements. Do something I could never do myself. Stand up to him and tell him your not going to answer his question. Remember he doesn't give participation points so don't let him intimidate or humiliate you.
Everyone thinks he a big ****, but he's just sarcastic, if you are a sarcastic person you will like him. He explains everything until you get it. 4 exams nothing else is the downside to his class
If you go to class study your notes and the study guide you will get an A. You don't even need to study the book don't waste your time with that. He's a good teacher, but will keep the class in check and it can be funny.
not the friendliest guy. seems to know when youre confused and will call on you at that time. very sarcastic. however, if you pay attention and work out the examples, you will learn. only four tests, so doing well on each one is critical. attendance isnt taken, but if you miss class, youll fall behind and he'll notice. be prepared for class.
Great teacher, everything you learn you will remember. Teaches about current economy as well as the fundamentals. Go to class and follow the study guide and you will have a fun time. Overall I thought he was a great economics professor. Take him 100%
I don't know why everyone hates him so much. He's outspoken and sarcastic but I like that about him. In spite of his anti-democratic rants (as anyone who's taken his class is fully aware of)and seemingly condescending attitude, I look forward to every class. Go to every class and know the vocabulary from the book and you're golden.
He's a cool teacher. Apparantly he claims he's much harder on his Freshman class than his Junior/Senior classes. REALLY tends to get sidetracked in class. Only pay attention to things he writes on the board. Copy his version of his essay down to the T and you're golden. Book is pretty much useless other than a few vocab words here and there.
Complete Jerk!! Will call you out no matter who you are or what you try to do to avoid it. There is a but. Great professor he makes the material easy to follow and makes sure you understand it. Tells you exactly what is on test. 4 test online homework that youy can re-do until you get %100. Show up take him you'll get an A.
AWESOME! His unique style of teaching keeps everyone awake, attentive, entertained and helps you build backbone. Aside from that, he is %100 helpful and dedicated to your learning. And the tests are easy. Class is optional, BUT DON'T MISS ANY. He will publicly make note of it.
very easy/tells u whats going to be one the tests that u need to know/straight forward/explain everything u need to know/very helpful/make sure u bring a caluater lol/funny/picks on people randomly/hates demorcates/makes jokes/very cool/U SHOULD TOTALLY TAKE HIM!
Great professor. Jokes around; don't take it too seriously. You probably don't even have to go to class (accept on homework days, which he makes very hard for those who don't go that day) and just read all the chapters and you'll do great. Essay question on tests, but he tells you exactly what's on it. Piece of cake.
Essay question on the tests are pure memorization because he outlines what he wants. Other than that, read the assigned reading a week before the test and do the HW for a good grade. He has a great sense of dry and sarcastic humor which makes class interesting everyday. Recommended!
I worked my tail off and got an F. Refuses to help you. but he does know his stuff. You must go to class. If you go to class you should be fine.
He makes fun of himself cause he lost alot of $ in stocks. You could tell how the stock was doing that day by his mood. Right-winger, called obama "regime change" & was for prop8. Would make fun of students, called us ungrateful ****s that leach off parents $. my fav; "a class of 5th grade koreans w/o calculators would have had the answer by now!"
He's a great teacher. You will learn a lot,but he can be pretty harsh.I would take him again because he's very clear. No test surprises. You really have to have a thick skin, however. He can be insulting, but also funny. It was never a boring class.Make sure you turn your cell off before class!Trust me.And go to the lectures.
he is a pretty easy teacher u dont have to go to class. all you have to do is study the study guide and you are good you dont need to read the book he is a bit of an a$$ but if your not a baby then it wont bother u you need to study in order to do good 4 test thats it
this class is hard well at least for me but what do you expect from a stats class i got a B but i worked my hard for it its simple 4 test you can use a cheat sheet for 3 of them 10 online hw assignments (the hw assignments are hard) and 10 online quizes do the hw and quizes because they really help you on your grade alotttt take this class
He's a good professor. He goes over the concepts with way many examples. Yes, he insults people sometimes. He does that because people cannot answer simple questions, meaning that they weren't listening. So they probably deserved it. He encourages participation in class and he ensures that we understand the material.
Mean and unapproachable, easy class.
Ive had him for 2 classes, both equally amusing. Hes very insulting, but hilarious. Hes very clear and gives lots of examples to help you understand. No suprises on his tests and the essay question are all memorization. go to lecture. theres no HW in econ 101 but there is weekly hw in 201. really easy class I would take him again
He has a hilariously sarcastic sense of humor. His lectures were very easy to understand, since he breaks down each concept and repeats important ideas many times. He does demand students be able to answer questions during lectures on the spot, so pay atttention. Only grades come from 3 tests.
He made it easy to understand the material and constantly repeats the important information. I actually learned a lot from him and enjoyed the class when I typically can't stand econ classes
Class was not hard. He constantly repeats material so it sticks to you. Does randomly pick students in class to answer questions so be prepared to come up with a decent answer or he will use his sarcastic humor against you. I rarely went to class and did well on the exams. Class is based on 3 exams worth 100 points each, Tip: Memorize his essay.
Super easy class. Grades are based off of 4 tests including the final. He can be a bit sarcastic if he calls on you and you are unable to answer his question so pay attention. He wrote the textbook so his lectures are almost verbatim from the text. Go to class, pay attention and review your notes before an exam and you'll get your A.
If you attend all his classes, the test will be understandable and straight to the point. He's great at explaining and the textbook questions really help! He likes to pick on people who sit in the back, so beware! Going to class is REALLY helpful.
My favorite class to go to. You dont need the textbook if you go to class. Repeats the important concepts and makes the class fun.
He's so hilarious, and dumbs down the information so everyone can understand it. The book isn't mandatory, but its good to have because of the practice problems. There's only 4 exams, that are super easy. Sit in the front and pay attention because he picks on people in the back!
TAKE THIS CLASS! It was SO easy! I didn't even buy the textbook and ended up with an 92%. There's no homework whatsoever and no quizzes. 4 tests for the whole semester. Since I didn't have the book, attendance was really important for me. But if you have the text book you don't even need to show up, he takes everything from it. Sarcastic but nice
One of the best teachers I've had this semester. He breaks everything down a moron could understand. You basically just have to go to class, take notes, and study a little for the tests (average four). He can be very sarcastic and pick on you if you don't know the material, but it isn't hard to pick up. By far the best econ101 teacher.
Take Gordon!! He doesn't waste any time with fluffing up the material, he keeps it real and won't try to trick you on the tests. He calls out people that don't pay attention in class (for their own benefit because why even go if you're not learning) and his humor makes class interesting. No homework or quizzes just 4 tests that are straight forward
This was my favorite class this semester. There is no homework and your entire grade is based off of four tests that are not cumulative. No finals or midterms. However, if you miss a test you will have to take a cumulative final along with the fourth test. The textbook is a must. Lectures are very clear and he is hilarious.
Easiest teacher for Econ there is. One 4 tests, they're not cumulative, and tests are just like practice problems in the book.
SUPER EASY CLASS! If you need to take Econ 101 take it with him! Only 4 tests and his textbook has all his lectures just follow along and take extra notes along the margins. HIGHLY recommend!
This guy is awesome. I would give him more than a 5 on clarity if I could. He explains everything so that 5 year olds can understand it so really get it stuck in our brains. If you don't understand something, he'll go over it again until you do. Entertaining to the point that sometimes you forget it's Econ. Very logical and on students' side.
BEST TEACHER EVER, honestly one of my favorite professors at SDSU. He makes lectures fun and interesting has a funny, sarcastic humor. No homework, no quizzes only like 4 tests. The book was written by him so his tests are literally straight from the book. EASY EASY EASY A!!!!
He's a fine lecturer, but talks rude to students.
Would take again, he is the man
Easy class. 4 MC tests, 100 points each. No homework or quizzes. The practice tests in the book are essentially the same as the actual tests. Lectures are not mandatory but I recommend going anyway. He makes the material very easy to understand.
Rude teacher but course was clear, only 4 tests. Dont expect much from him he is a typical college professor that doesnt care much about his students. Easy class though.
Only four tests, no homework. Gordon wrote his own textbook so the practice tests inside are almost the same as the actual test. I recommend going to class because he is very good at clarifying the material even though he's quite rude. Expect to get called on randomly in class.
Gordon does not care at all about his students. He never takes attendance and never ever gives homework. There are 3 tests and a final test. Final is not cumulative. There is a textbook that he personally wrote and test questions come straight from the book so buy the book. Overall the class is not too hard. I did not go often and got a B+.
Rude teacher but course was clear, only 4 tests. Don't expect much from him he is a typical college professor that doesnt care much about his student.
Gordon can definitely come off as being tough on students if they don't know the material during his lectures but overall he's a really good teacher. 3 midterms and a final are the only components that go into your grade so make sure to study! I thought the tests were pretty easy since they had basically the same questions he gives in the workbook
This is a very unstructured class. Entire grade based off of 4 test scores. Show up to class, the textbook is ultimately unnecessary and he writes exactly what you should take notes on on the board. Usually bigger classes try to sit in the front you will do much better. No homework, no quizzes, no participation grade. Very attainable A
4 Tests. No Homework. Go to class, pay attention for the lecture and that's it. Study hard because each test is 25% of grade. He is the man, tests were straight forward but definitely study hard or else they will be very hard!
Definitely the best teacher to take for Econ102. He is pretty easy and is super clear with what he expects from you. If you go to class and take good notes then you will do well. His tests are exactly what he goes over in class and uses similar examples. 4 tests are your entire grade. He calls kids out in class a lot but overall a great teacher.
He doesn't take attendance or do any form of participation credit. Your grade is just based on 4 tests. He states things in the lecture that will be on the test word for word. Easiest class I've had for sure. Kinda intimidating but funny.
He is a great professor. Take his class. He gives 4 test that are based on his lectures. If you want to pass, JUST GO TO CLASS. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you don't go, you will not do well on the exams. He's funny and will pick on students who aren't paying attention.
I loved having Professor Gordon! His lectures are exactly like the tests, and I barely opened up the textbook during the semester. He does call on people in class, and some people get offended by comments that he says. I didn't care though because I learned a good amount in his class.
Your grade is entirely based off of four tests. Unless you attend class, you will have hard time passing the exams. Does not give out any homework but make sure you listen to his lectures carefully.
The class is only based off of 4 tests and you have to listen to the lecture and he likes to pick on students. There is no homework, quizzes, or attendance so if you don't do well on your test it will drop your grade a lot. I wouldn't suggest taking him if you're not a good test taker.
The exams are based on lectures. Sometimes he will choose someone to answer a question. It's best to make a study group before an exam unless you can study on your own.
If you want to possibly humiliated in class and belittled, take Prof. Gordon! He does not care for his students or feelings of people other than calling students out and complaining about liberal/Democrat agendas. The class is out of 4 tests ONLY, nothing else. Overall not a difficult class, but this prof made Econ 102 unbearable for me.
Entire course graded by four tests, but tests are based entirely on lecture material. No homework, no quizzes, just lectures and tests. Pay attention and take good notes in class! Only get book if want to read chapters for more clarification, otherwise you don't need it. Gordon has lots of office hours. Calls on people in class to answer questions.
Four tests in total. Pretty straight forward, based off lecture. I skipped this class to go to Disneyland multiple times. Really understand the lectures!! And if you miss make sure you're friends with people who take good notes.
Professor Gordon was incredible. This was the only class I truly enjoyed attending. He doesn't take attendance but I recommend going to class because the tests are word for word from his lectures. There are a total of 4 tests that make up your entire grade, and all are easy if you go over notes.
Gordon was a great professor. His lectures were interesting and straight to the point. Simply GO TO CLASS and you will pass. His 4 tests are based heavily on his lectures, so much so, that you don't even need the book. He does pick on students but it's usually those who are not paying attention. Awesome class. I would highly recommend.
Prof. Gordon is an "okay" teacher. The class grade is ENTIRELY based on 4 tests, and most of the content comes from his lectures. He can be disrespectful to students by singling them out, however, he typically gets the econ concepts across. I got an A on every test EXCEPT for the last test, on which I received a D, even after studying for weeks.
I learned in his class and I understand the information but everything else about him is absolutely terrible. He is racist, xenophobic, crass, and bashes people for their political party. He's rude and doesn't respect his students as people. Repeats info constantly so it sticks, uploads lectures online, mandatory participation.
Grade is determined by 4 tests. No homework for this class. If you attend lectures and pay attention you should do well on the exams, they come straight from lecture material and are thoroughly reviewed.
Gordon is a great prof. Its never fun to be called on in front of 100+ students, but this really forces you to pay attention so you don't look dumb. Grade is based on 4 tests, with content strictly from lectures (don't buy the book) so even though attendance isn't required, you need to know it for the tests. I got 3 As and a C+.
Simple and structured class, straightforward. However Gordon has some questionable behavior like slamming lectern cabinet top to get peoples attention at beginning of class, likes to incite and single out specific people whenever the chance arises. Guy has some pent up anger but the class is one of the easier ones you'll take.
Gordon has probably one of the best teaching styles out of the professors I've had at state. His tests are word for word what he says in class, definitely do not need to buy or read the textbook. Your grade is purely the average of 4 tests which is intimidating but it is less work since there is no homework or quizzes either, just go to class.
Super manageable class that doesn't have to be difficult whatsoever as long as you show up, pay attention, & take well organized notes. He likes to call people out to answer questions if it looks like they're not paying attention so beware. Gordon breaks down the material so well & makes it very easy to understand & sets you up great for his tests!
Pros - Lectures and homework content are directly applied to the test. So if you take good notes and do homework you will be good. There are no surprises. Cons- Roberto is a high tempered and antagonistic character. Always oddly watching class movement to call somebody out on something.
I found this class to be simplistic. You won't be stressing yourself in learning the basic material presented. Just make a decent effort and you'll pass. Helps develop Microsoft Excel skills. Gordon can be militant at times toward a student. There are more respectful and personable professors to learn from at SDSU.
Professor Gordon was a fantastic professor. He was clear with what we needed to know for the test, and he would make sure to reiterate important details multiple times throughout his lectures. Many students found him to be offensive with his right-winged comments, but as an economics teacher, he knows what conditions our economy thrives under.
I think Gordon is average as a teacher. If you are taking this class to fulfill an elective I would choose a more professional and good natured professor. When I was there he would sometimes slam the lectern cabinet top to get students attention beginning of class. So don't give him the satisfaction of flinching.
Attendance isnt mandatory but if you dont go you wont get whats going on. He doesnt really teach whats in the book so if you have a hard time understanding something good luck because you cant look at the book for much reference and he is very unapproachable. Has a temper and gets mad easily. Besides that his teaching style was good
Gordon's teaching was average but his exams line up exactly with his lectures. He doesn't provide many opportunities to improve your grade. Your grade only consists of three exams that are equally weighted. However, his exams are really easy and match the study guides that he provides to the class. Don't bother buying the book. Just go to class.
worse prof I ever took there is 3 exam worth 100% of the grade. NO class material on BB NO response to ur email I wonder if he has an email?. He is an OLD school worse handwriting prof. He teach only on writing no explanation, no book. Whole class time goes on his writing on the board. Exams r very hard to understand if u didn't understand in class
Gordon is probably the least inspiring and least intruiging teacher at SDSU. I found nothing dynamic about the class. It's just another simple elective to fulfill your major requirements. Gordon is very sensitive to student class behavior and will throw a tantrum if you give him reason to. The workload is minimal though if you value that.
I guess the only good thing about the class is that you are not going to strain yourself to pass the class. Otherwise Gordon is temperamental and may treat you like unruly teenagers in the classroom. Very alert to each students movements during class. If you are asian, he'll probably call on you more to answer questions.
If you take this class, be aware at the beginning of class when Gordon slams the computer lectern cabinet violently to get your attention. Don't give the guy the satisfaction of flinching. Attendance is important for your success even if though it's not mandatory. Gordon is not affable and likes to scold students for stuff like being late.
Could've spent tuition on more interesting classes. Only positive is the workload is friendly to your schedule. Gordon also seems motivated to find petty reasons to scold select students. Gordon is not likable but he'll guide you on your way to at least a 'C' grade.
You will learn some concepts that are applicable to everyday life. Make sure you show up to class. Gordon keenly observes the whole class to hopefully catch students off guard with questions.
Gordons teaching ability are decent enough. He's always scanning the class for students who are not paying attention. Easily agitated guy but you'll know what federal interest rates are before leaving college.
Rude to students who aren't comfortable speaking/get answers wrong. Isn't supportive to students who miss class and the format is unorganized and inaccessible. Don't go to him if you missed class.
He loves randomly calling out people during lectures and makes you feel dumb if you don't know the answer. But his lectures deliver everything you need to know on the exams and he is very clear on the material. No homework, only 4 tests that make up the entire grade. Didn't use the book once. Go to every lecture and pay attention, you'll be fine!
Gordon lets you know exactly what he wants on his exams. He does call out students to answer questions and makes fun of you if you don't get it right. However, he is a great lecturer and is engaging. Your entire grade is based on 4 exams(3/4 are easy). Just show up to lecture and take good notes. Do not get the book, we never used it.
I had a mediocre learning experience with Ms. Gordon. It just wasn't up to par with some of the other classes I've experienced at SDSU. Just make sure that you show up to each class and take notes to be successful.
I would say the only good thing is most of the information you will learn will be applied to the test. If you have a moderate work ethic you can pass this class. Most professors are unbothered by student behavior, tardiness or attentiveness but Robert takes offense. He'll actively seek out students to embarrass so be aware.
I am the worst test taker, and I assure you this is one of the best professors to take. Don't listen to bad reviews. You have to show up to pass. Every thing taught in class is on his short/easy exams. STUDY the notes, PAY attention and you will easily pass. He uses examples in class on tests, and gives ten answers on the first exam and the final.
It was a mediocre experience for me. Ms. Gordon is always aware of student movements throughout class. If you give him a reason, he'll antagonize a student. I saw him scold a student for coming in late one time even though the student was never persistently late.
You'll learn some fundamental things in Gordons class. This class is tolerable if you need to fill out the schedule. I had some hope it would be a great class but it fell short of expectations.
One of the mediocre teachers out there but sometimes you have no choice.
I really enjoyed Gordon as a professor. He seems like he does care about his students. He is a straight forward guy, he teaches to help you learn not be your best friend. He makes you work for a good grade, but just GO TO CLASS and you will be fine. Its only graded on 4 tests, but no homework at all!
Learned a few things, nothing great about this professor. Wouldn't take again.
Some of the complaints against Gordon's petty behavior are warranted. However, this class can help balance your schedule with a manageable workload.
Pros - Lecture material is on tests. Cons - Gordon is always searching for certain students to antagonize during lectures so check your grades after each test if you suspect something is wrong.
This class was completely asynchronous, with a homework reading, assignment, and a few quizzes due each week Sunday night. It's easy to get a good grade because the quizzes can be taken an unlimited number of times and the homework also has multiple attempts. Tests are straightforward. I recommend!
This class didn't deliver the experience I was looking for. If you are not an economics major I would seek out more classes that build more technical skills.
I didn't feel any applicable skills for employment were learned in this class. Try to find a class that will get you ready after college. Gordon is always seeking out students to embarrass to beware of his antics.
I feel the class is more useful for econ majors. It is not for a student who is serious about getting the most out of their college experience. Unlike other professors, Gordon is easily triggered by misbehavior and will find a way to embarrass a student.
He assigns a chapter to read each week along with a few easy quizzes. The tests arent too difficult, but you have to teach yourself. There are no zoom lectures or office hours, so its up to you to learn.
do not recommend. completely asynchronous; you dont get taught at all. you literally have to teach yourself everything. every week a new chapter, homework assignment, and quiz are assigned and its up to you to learn all the material. yeah its straightforward but you dont learn much.
His class was asynchronous, however he leaves clear instruction. And reading and matching quizzes were really helpful, you have unlimited chances to take the quizzes which boost your grade up. As long as you follow the instructions youll be fine.
I feel Gordon doesn't provide a deeper learning experience. Anybody can learn this economics course by themselves, choose a class that will get you ready for the workforce. Something with more data analysis tools and techniques.
That guy Gordon will help guide you toward at least a C grade if that's all you need with simple instructions. However there are better professors in the department that provide more value and positive student/teacher engagement.
Gordon will be temperamental during lectures and will treat college students like middle schoolers. Certain things like tardiness or attentiveness will catch his attention. He's not a laid back instructor but the class is manageable for a passing grade.
Gordon lacks the extra polish and charm of great professors, but he is competent enough to teach basic economic concepts.
Class experience is average at best. Try to seek out better instructors.
It's a tolerable class but only take this guy if you have to. Gordon seems to have a serious demeanor with few sympathy for students. I've observed him scold a student for coming in late once. This was a student who never comes in late or causes trouble.
The course has concepts that are easy to learn. The workload was not overwhelming. I would find a different instructor if you could.
I've experienced more effective and appealing instructors in my time at SDSU. However Gordon seems to have enough ability to teach basic economic concepts. Gordon likes to provoke certain students throughout the semester over tardiness and attentiveness so be aware.
I had a Scantron test impossibly score zero once. Went to his office the next day and it checked out to be a B grade. It didn't seem like an oversight but more of an effort to subtly inconvenience me. Check your scores if you think something is flawed.
It's a simple class but you won't gain anything useful for the workforce. Not sure if Gordon does it anymore but he likes to slam the lectern door at the start of class to see if students flinch.
His lectures are short and informative. As long as you go to class and take notes you'll pass the tests no problem. There is a bit of homework each week but you get 3 attempts on each question.
Simply not a dynamic experience that will help get you a job after college. Not very enjoyable either. If you are an Econ major you probably have to take this class.
Not recommended if you are seeking a constructive learning experience. There are simply better classes to seek out at SDSU.
I felt like I received a substandard academic experience with Gordon. I learned basic concepts not applicable to getting a job. The guy seems easily aggravated and intemperate but a C grade is doable with Gordon.
The class was very lecture heavy and tests were fairly difficult. Professor Gordon was engaging and funny at times. He has a great personality and the grade points were spread out nicely and balanced well against tests.
The academic experience left more to be desired. Gordon is the only instructor at SDSU that tries to embarrass students over attentiveness and tardiness. His heightened vigilance during class is uncommon at the college level.
He doesn't take attendance, so attendance technically isn't "mandatory", but if you want to do well, you need to go to class. He calls on people and makes them go to the front of the class to answer questions. Homework every week, reading and then quizzes, which are easy and you can take them 3 times. Tests consist of mainly lecture notes.
Not too grim of a class if you get stuck with Gordon but he shouldn't be at the top of the list when planning your semester. Try to take something related to data analysts.
Professor Gordon is very intelligent and you can tell he knows what he's lecturing on. He sometimes randomly calls on students, but it helps everyone stay attentive during lectures. He cracks jokes that can be pretty funny, and he's overall a sweet and very traditional college professor!
This class simply fell short of the consummate standards we expect from higher education. It didn't inspire me to advance my economic studies however I do expect to pass.
homework is a normal amount, lectures are simple, overall good choice to choose
He assigns a manageable amount of homework, makes lectures really engaging, and if you go to class and take good notes, youll do well on the exams. Overall good teacher and solid choice for Econ 101.
Mediocre experience but you'll have a chance to pass the class.
Professor Gordon taught me so much in Econ101. A lot of times in math classes I have been guilty of just memorizing the material, but I truly felt that I learned so much about economics. The tests are all very attainable if you put in the time studying. He is also very helpful if you go to office hours.
All of the test material comes straight for the lecture notes. Just show up to class and take notes and you'll easily pass.
Kind of bland and unexciting class. Instructor is unusually observant of student behavior during class. A C grade is attainable if that's all you need.
honestly, he's a great teacher to help you really understand the basics and know what you're doing. the way he calls on students is a little intimidating but it helps to pay attention, but as long as you show up and take notes you'll have all of the test material. also homework was easy
Honestly, I think the instructor has curated an average experience within the curriculum. If you are just looking for adequate tutelage Gordo's the guy.
The class was under par for me, I probably would choose something different next time.
(Fall 2020) I never once saw this prof's face nor heard his voice -- the class was just textbook, online homework, and tests. It was an easy A if you understand the content since Econ is always very application based. Never got the chance to see how he actually teaches.
Robert Gordon is not the professor to take for Econ. He misspells words, his notes are sloppy and not organized , and he is a harsh grader on tests. He also like to pick on kids so watch out!
He is not the best teacher but I learned more than enough to pass the class. Homework and quizzes every week but quizzes you can redo until you get 100% and they are worth quite a bit which is nice. He loves doing popcorn which kinda sucks but it helps you pay attention i guess. Tests are very lecture-based though so show up to class to pass!!
Overall he was a good teacher but he loves to call on kids randomly in class and pick on them if they don't know the answer so beware of that and pay attention in class. Overall I learned a lot in this class and if you go to office hours or ask for help he is very helpful. Homeworks are fairly easy but tests are kind of hard.
The HW and weekly quizzes are a big part of the grade and are really easy. Going to class isn't part of the grade but he gives all the information that is going to be on the tests during his lectures and if you take notes and study them you will do amazing in this class. He does call of people during class but its not that bad.
Overall this class isn't too bad, the lectures are kind of boring but are super similar to the tests. He likes to randomly call on people so definitely pay attention. If you show up to class and do the homework assignments you should be fine.
the four main tests are only based on the in class lectures, so show up to class and take note of what the professor is talking about. Hw and quizzes aren't that bad at all. Tests are easy if you study. Pay attention to the lectures and you'll be fine. The way he formats his lectures isn't ideal though since it's very disorganized.
Average learning experience, this should be one of the last classes to consider at SDSU.
I probably would go a different direction if I could choose again. Content wasn't intriguing enough but another student might like it.
I didn't feel like I learned anything practical to getting a job. Learned some basic economic concepts though. Does Gordon still slam the lectern cabinet beginning of class to startle students?
It's a coin toss to get decent instructors at SDSU and I thought this class was a miss. SDSU should review standards in their programs to improve educational potency.
If your seeking an uninspiring experience and a minimum of a C grade this is the class for you. I need to make a better effort to obtain better learning experiences.
There are a lot of mixed opinions about him, I liked him because the course came easy to me and because I liked his sense of humor. Some people aren't a big fan of him because he picks on people at random and econ can be a tough course. Class isn't hard if you show up and pay attention. Weekly homework and 4 tests throughout the semester.
This class fell short of expectations for me. Only positive is the economic material is straightforward to learn. Instructor seems like a tense fellow. Wouldn't take again.
Run of the mill class to fulfill your undergraduate requirements nothing special. Curriculum doesn't seem to meet the needs of todays dynamic job market.
It is MANDATORY that you come to class. He does not assign any homework and never posts anything online, so attending the lectures is crucial.
Just another unmemorable and antiquated class unworthy of your time. Learned nothing useful for the workforce. If you are an undergraduate student try not to compromise and pick some useful classes.
This class has four tests and those are the only grades that are getting put into the grade book. While lectures are not mandatory if you do not show up for the lectures you will not pass the class. Most of his tests are learning vocabulary.
Teaches exclusively with handwritten lectures and doesn't use any technology. Your grade is made up of 4 tests. Missing a class without getting good notes from a friend means you'll be lost on the test. There are no study guides or modules on Canvas, to pass this class above a C you'll need a good habit of showing up to class, and good note-taking.
I think most scholars should avoid this particular instructor. If you need some basic economic information it may work for you but like I said if you're a scholar serious about academia then avoid.
Professor Gordon's class is very lecture-heavy. Almost everything seen on the exams is what he lectured about in class. He also will call on you at any given time to give an answer, and if you don't know it he will embarrass you. He doesn't answer emails and makes questionable jokes in class. Overall I would not recommend him and take anyone else.
L ectures are quick and can be complicated. The only time he stops writing is to randomly pick on a student who most likely did not hear the question because they were too busy trying to catch up with his lecture. No homework, just exams. If you are not a good test taker and do not do well teaching yourself I would not recommend this class.
Robert has very boring lectures that are not engaging. All of his lectures are only on the whiteboard, nothing on the canvas at all, no resources. No homework but with 4 large tests that decide your grade. Calls out on people randomly. Not a chiller
One of the middling courses at the university unless you're an economics major. You'll probably learn more reading the Wall Street Journal. The department should review the efficacy of some these dry courses to improve student experiences.
The only grades that are put in are tests. You will get a total of four of them. A majority of the tests are definitions and formulas. The last few questions which rages between 4-5 of them are graphing and calculations. Lectures are heavy, so don't miss a class because you will most likely be lost.
Very old-school professor who doesn't do a great job at communicating with students. Never responded to my emails and would sometimes just not show up for class without communicating. The entire grade of the class is based on 4 tests with 0 assignments along the way to help your grade out a bit.
I HATE HIM SO MUCH HE LOST MY TEST AND I FAILED THE CLASS I WORKED SO HARD TO PASS THIS FINAL AND STUDIED FOR WEEKS AND HE LOST MY FINAL
Obsolete and basic course that could be self taught. You don't need this instructor to tell you when supply goes down prices go up. The content I learned doesn't seem to meet the challenges of a shifting job market for new graduates.
I tried this course but it fell short for me in various aspects. I learned some things relevant to the current economy but I don't think it will translate to a real career.
I think I finished this course uninspired and marginally smarter. For the prospective student it wouldn't be worth your time to take Gordon. However if you just need a C grade you can accomplish that.
Like another student said, if you need something that is passable this course might be the one for you. All the useful or cool classes fill up fast. So try not to get the leftovers like this one.
Does Gordon still slam the lectern cabinet at the beginning of class to needlessly startle students? He seemed to get a kick out of it if a student flinches. I think most adjunct instructors are not incentivized to give you a great experience so always lower your expectations when selecting courses.
I think there are much better classes to choose from in the school catalogue. I wouldn't burn valuable credits on Econ101 unless you needed it for a major. Student teacher ratio isn't great but it's expected at a large university.
The economics I learned didn't improve my employability for the skilled labor market. You can learn some concepts that can improve your stock/bond portfolio that's about it. The Robert guy was the least amicable instructor I've experienced at SDSU. He just seems more suitable to teach classes in the prison systems.
Review for Robert Lee Gordon, San Diego State University I think it wasn't the most worthless class but certainly unexceptional. I feel the academics was too lethargic and archaic for future scholars to take seriously. Professor Foad is one I recommend if he's available.
I thought it was below par for me as I didn't find the class too interesting. One of the more bland courses that I don't think will be a positive return on investment.
The precipitation in the cognitive dissonance of higher education can be factored in many ways. Ways that can or cannot be quantified. Assessing the quality of educators is subjective but it can be accurately evaluated through different mediums.
Not much arithmetic analysis for a competitive skillset in the workforce. I thought the economic concepts were dull and need some polishing. I would pass on this particular course if I could choose again.
Will you be on your way to the Noble Prize after a class with Gordon? Probably not. However if you need at least a D grade you can attain that. Maybe understand some economic terms in the newspaper also.
Median level course I don't think it was a great return of investment. Could use modification on the curriculum to help students with more relevant skills. I probably would seek out more concentrated courses next time around.
Not the most fun course on the SDSU roster but learned a few concepts. I felt the course could use more career development ideas.
Not sure if Gordon does it anymore but he would slam the lectern cabinet top really loud to silence the chatter at the beginning of class. So watch out for that. On the academic side, I thought the course wasn't interesting enough to recommend to any eager student.
Median level course that probably won't get you prepared for the workforce. I would seek out other courses with more relevance to what my goals are.
I thought it was one of the least enjoyable classes in the university. Not too confident about my future after taking this course. At least I know what supply and demand means.
I thought it was lackluster on some economic concepts but a passable course. I saw Gordon scold a student one time for showing up 10 minutes late. Kind of needless behavior given the infrequency of tardiness throughout the semester by students.
I wasn't impressed with the curriculum, needs some refinement in each discipline.
Does Gordon still slam the lectern cabinet top really loud to silence the student chatter beginning of class? The guy would observe the class to see who flinches from the sound.
While I wasn't enlightened by anything Gordon taught in the course, economics is relevant to everyday life.
Fairly straightforward class, though not the most engaging. Unstuckstudy AI proved helpful for study prep and understanding key concepts. Worth taking if you need the credit, but may not be a groundbreaking experience.
Pedestrian course you need to continue your undergraduate requirements. I would suggest students do more research to seek out courses that increase employability. Knowledge is key.
To be honest I thought the coursework was a little stale. Didn't develop the confidence I needed to compete with the very best students across the nation. I learned what GDP means though.
Not sure if a Nobel Prize is within reach after taking an average course like this. I didn't feel too challenged by the coursework nor did it interest me. However you can learn when prices go down demand goes up.
When I was enrolled, Robert would slam the computer cabinet really loud to silence the chatter if it was deemed excessive beginning of class. He would look to see who flinches too. Seek out economic information elsewhere because the concepts can be self taught.
I thought it was one of the more undistinguished and generic courses I've experienced on campus. One for the student masses to fulfill their schedules. Unfortunately I don't recommend Roberto in this modern age of learning.
I thought it wasn't a fulfilling course to enroll in. Marginally meets whatever criteria to be considered a college class.
Very old school and stern professor. Lectures the whole time but gets you out early most days. The only grades all semester were four exams.
Solely graded on 4 tests, no postings on Canvas, NONE. Must go to class to pass & to even talk to him UNREACHABLE through email and admits it, but addresses common queries in class GO TO LECTURE or you will not pass Actual material is simple and teaching style is repetitive and monotoned. Not the most interesting class, definitely did not excite me
Not the greatest class I've ever been enrolled in but some of the content learned has some utility I guess. Choosing beneficial classes are important to your future prospects. I thought this course fell short of providing me tools to be competitive amongst my peers.
graded on 4 tests and thats it. unreachable outside of class, acknowledges emails in lectures but wont write you back. must go to lecture to learn anything as nothing is posted on canvas including test dates. simple material, monotone voice and easy if you put the time in.
When I was enrolled, Gordon would sometimes slam the computer cabinet really loud at the beginning of class. He would do it periodically and watch students flinch. It's usually when there's chatter and people are caught off guard. Seems like a sly guy, kind of an outlier in the faculty not sure why he's there.
Before you read, ignore all other reviews because they are all based off of feeling instead actual qualitative reasoning. Great professor overall if you are on campus. Please attend lectures if you want to pass the class. Very easy class to take and to pass for credit if you are a business major or something of that sort. Purely a lecture based.
The class is based entirely on tests, no homework or anything else. As long as you attend lectures, the material is pretty easy to understand. I didn't study for any of the tests, just went to class and still got Bs on all of them. Professor Gordon is very good at explaining concepts and applying them to real life. He's also pretty funny.
I regretfully thought the course was dissatisfactory for my academic goals. Learned some fundamentals you can learn for free online. I don't think it moves the needle for the ambitious student.
Professor Gordon is a great professor who's lectures are very informing and clear. In order to get an A in this class, everything on the exam will be covered in lecture. Easy notes and lot's of time to get prepared for tests. Office hours were extremely helpful and he was always patient and answered any questions. Really cool guy and pretty funny.
I thought my time in this course was kind of meh. Could use some tweaks in the curriculum. If the class wasn't required by my major I would've passed on it.
If you miss his class you are screwed because he never uploads anything, very test heavy you're graded on 4 tests and if u mess up one that's too bad and he never answers his email. quite an old traditional guy.. he wasn't horrible but id prefer not to have him again!
If you are not a good test taker, this class is not for you, as the only things that go into the grade are the tests. Also, while attendance isn't mandatory, it is super important that you attend the lectures because he doesn't post any information online. That being said, I thought his lectures were good and informative.
While not a Nobel Prize quality class students deserve, the class met the absolute bare minimum standards to qualify for a college class.
Grades are straightforward: 4 tests and the average of all of them. Most test material is gone over through notes in class, which aren't posted on canvas. Test dates are not revealed earlier than a week in advance. No HW or attendance. Prof is unreachable by email and could not be bothered to reply. "Econ 102 quizlets" are super helpful to study.
Professor Gordon often calls students to answer questions in large lecture halls out of the blue. This makes students not want to attend because they don't want to be called on, but his tests are based completely on lectures with no online material.
After taking this course, I didn't develop enough interest to continue my economic studies. Therefore I remorsefully do not recommend this class to overachieving students.
The experience left more to be desired. Teacher to student ratio is not great. The talent is just not here at this university.
grade is only based off of 4 tests in the semester. no homework, no powerpoints, nothing posted on canvas at all. you show up to class, take the lecture notes, and then everything you took notes on is on the test. sucks because if you miss one class you miss test notes because he wont post them online or give them to you
grade is based on only four exams which is a bit scary, but most questions are WORD FOR WORD from the lectures. make sure to go to every class or have someone who can send you the notes, since nothing is posted online. he does call on people randomly, but honestly its not that serious, go to class and study before you should def pass!
Not sure if he slams the lectern top anymore to begin class but if you need an average course with underwhelming experiences this class is it.
I would take another class if I could. Lacked the depth I was looking for.
I thought it wasn't an efficient class. Could use some polishing.
The grade is based only on 4 tests (non-cumulative), but if you took econ in high school, it'll be a breeze. However, if you didn't or if you're not math savvy, he doesn't do a great job of understanding that or explaining things. He also calls on random people to answer questions during the lecture, which can be unnerving.
After taking this class I didn't feel inspired to continue my economic studies. Perhaps another method of learning will work better.
The econ121 class only grades on the average of 4 tests, no curve. The lectures are not interesting, and he calls on people randomly. You have to take notes in the lecture, then read the textbook and take more notes in your free time. The questions on the tests are not worded well, and the class average is around a C. Not worth it.
The professor is very nice, but the class is tough. Your grade comes from four equal-weight tests with no curve. His lectures aren't always clear, but office hours help if you come prepared. Tests rely solely on your own class notes, and he doesn't post them, so make friends to share notes if you miss a day.
ok teacher, he doesn't use canvas, all lecture material is taught in class on a white board. No homework and your only grade is 4 mid-terms
Worst professor I've had. Creates an intimidating classroom with cold calling that causes anxiety instead of learning, especially for a first-year econ course. Office hours felt unwelcoming and dismissive. Grades rely on four exams with no practice, feedback, or resources. Lectures and Canvas offer little support. Strongly recommend avoiding!
I think this course is best to be avoided if your not an economics major and have to take it. You won't be missing out on much with this instructor. Always room for improvement.
Worst profesor by a mile I have ever had, do not take this class at all. He cold calls the entire class and humiliates his students if they don't know his pop quiz type questions. He refuses to use any technology so if you get sick good luck passing the exam/class. He will not email back, is a tough grader, doesn't explain material well at all.
All material for tests is solely based on in class lectures. Nothing posted on canvas at all. If you miss one class at all for any reason, you are basically screwed. He also makes simple concepts seem very complex and confusing. Grade is based on 4 tests and if you are not a good test taker like me I do not reccomend.
