This professor is very clear and helpful. He does expect you to learn material but is still pretty easy. He is fun in class and super nice, If you have to take econ 100 take this guy.

Great teacher and fun to be in class with, it's just the material that sucks. If it wasn't for him though, I would probably be failing. If you have to take Econ, take this guy, just as long as you don't mind a little curseing here and there, lol.

Very large grading scale. A 80-90, B 60-80, etc. He makes everything clear and is willing to help if you are willing to work. Replies to emails fast and you can get help in his office any time! Very helpful, fun teacher!!

Easy Teacher and class.

Extremely easy grading scale and seems very knowledgable in the subject he's teaching. Wasn't hard to attend lectures because he's an entertaining guy, cursing left and right.

if you have to take econ 101, its your mistake if you dont take this teacher. even though he wrote his own book, he is good not "easy" the grading scale is easy, offers bonus points, and posts grades, and all the tests and possible questions on his web page! take this class

This guy is great. Plus he is extremely easy if you had econ in high school. You get an A if you have 80% how awesome is that?? plus his vocabulary and topics covered will always keep you interested!!!

Class is easy if you are willing to put effort into the class. He tells you exactly what is on the exams, word for word. If you will study it, you will get an A in the class. Also, he keeps the lecture very interesting. Take Econ from him if you can.

Dr. Guell is great! He relates econ to college students in a way that keeps you very interested in class. I never have a problem trying to get myself to go to class because he is such a great teacher! He will go the extra mile to make sure you understand the material and his grading scale is SUPER easy (ie 80% is an A). He is also HILARIOUS!

Easy. You know exactly what will be on the tests. No homework, only quizzes. Anything above an 80 is an A.

Great class! Yes, he can be crude and profane, but that's part of the fun-- you never know what he's going to say. Go to class, pay semi-attention, do the readings, and passing is pretty easy!

good prof. Had him fro BUS 200 & 201. If you have to take econ here at ISU take it with him!!! Guell will atleast keep you awake and make the graphs compatable with college life (beer & pizza). He's also has used sexual situations in the past. For instance how far would a guy drive for a b.j.(when teaching a supply and demand graph)

Thank God for Mr.Guell and his ECON101 course. Although this man curses like a sailor which I don't like, he is a great professor. He has his own grading scale. I failed 2 exams and still came out with a B-. If you suck at math like I do take this man! You cannot fail!

Great prof! He makes the topics relevant and relates them to everyday life. He knows most math classes are BS, so he makes sure that his class can be used later on. Curses a lot, but he warns you of that at the beginning of the year. Material is a LITTLE difficult but I personally hate math. No book required. He's hilarious! I recommend the class!

Great Prof doesnt treat you like a child. Attendance is not required only showed up on test day and pulled an A. I even suck at math. Makes sexual funny jokes in class to keep you awake. But go to the stuy sessions and you will get an A for sure.

Let me begin by explaining that I took this course for my math credit, and I absolutely loathe math of all kinds. And this was no different. The material is hard, and you have to work hard to do well. However, Guell is great. Swears all the time. He actually made me sort of lik math. Sort of. If you have take math, take ECON with Guell!

This is the first math-related class that EVER made sense to me. He is great at explaining things to the mathematically challenged. He uses real-world problems so it's not pointless. He is also hilarious. His classes are laid-back and pretty easy if you pay attention to the examples/notes. He is one of my favorite instructors ever.

Go to class, study the study guides, pass the class. It is that simple. I hate econ and he makes it bearable with his cursing and cocky attitude. Dont mess up and take someone else for econ200!!

You have to read in this class to understand Econ however, he helps you understand it a lot through the lectures. Guell has colorful language, which makes him funny. Not many other teaches curse everyday. He also give great examples that keep you into the listen. He has a grading system like if you get a 84% or higher is considered a A in the class

funniest person i have ever seen. 4 exams 100 points each , around easy 10 CQ worth 3 points each, easy 10 RQ worth 0.99 each ( online ). thats it do not play smart with him.

Mr. Guell is hilarious! However, ECON 201 is a graph based class, please if you take him STUDY THOSE GRAPHS!!! only 4 exams, online quizzes out of 0.99, and there are a lot of content quizzes.

This professor is incredibly knowledgeable. While I originally thought he was as interested as dirty dish water, he brilliant. The book isn't really as necessary as just LISTENING TO HIS LECTURES. He'll literally hand you the answer to every test question, which he gives you in advance. You really have no excuse AT ALL for not getting an A.

Professor Guell was my favorite professor so far during my time at ISU. His lectures are interesting and funny. He explains it well for anyone to understand while at the same time makes the class (and the subject of economics) interesting. He gives out participation points too. I recommend Professor Guell for ECON 100.

this class was very easy. you have access to answers for the tests most of the time. just listen to the lectures, do well on the content/reading quizzes, and come to class, and study. you will probably have to put in extra time for studying, but it is doable.

Funniest prof you'll ever have if you don't offend easily. Tests are tough but they are straight memorization, it's just a lot. He gives you the test ahead of time online and has a very soft grading scale. If you do the online quizzes and study for the content quizzes, which are simply redrawing graphs, you'll do fine.

Loved this Professor. Gives you the test before you take it, but it's still tough. If you can memorize graphs and aren't afraid to raise your hand in front of 100 other student you'll do fine. I had a whole letter grade up for participation points through asking questions in class. May have cost me some pride but definitely worth it to me.

Dr. Guell was an excellent professor to work with, and is one of the rare professors that not only knows the material but can teach it well too. He can be funny in class, but be warned that the entire class was exams.
