Mr. Guest is an outstanding professor who puts an incredible amount of effort into making sure his students know what is expected of them and making sure they understand the material.

Very good guy all around, he is easy to explaining and teaching and will help at all possible. Test reflect very much the material he teaches and does not ask for anything more.Simple listening and cooperation in his class and you will do great. Really cool professor, highly recommended.

If you take any math classes, this is the guy you want. That's not to say that he's easy, but he does a great job of teaching and is very generous with his office hours. He's also one of the most cheerful and fun professors I've had while at UT. I learned far more in his class than my friends who had other professors for the same class.

Dr. Guess is incredibly helpful! He goes above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to students who have questions. He always answers e-mails promptly, will help in anyway possible as far as giving back points on tests, but he still makes sure that you know the material. Dr. Guest is a top rate math professor. I absolutely hate math of any kind, but I took his statistical reasoning course. If you don't understand the problems, he will work with you for hours during office hours to make sure you understand the material. The homework sucks, but he gives usually a week to complete them.

This class was really good. He is very VERY helpful and a nice guy. Some of the problems are confusing but he will help you as much as you can. You have easy homework and daily excercise grades so that helps.

Mr.Guest is a great teacher. I took AP stat in high school so I already knew the material so I thought the class was extremely easy. He really understands the principles and what everything is. He cleared up a lot of questions I had after my AP class. He's very nice and I would definetly recommend him for any class.

Prof. Guest is a great teacher as well as a great person. He is always willing to help his students and makes math interesting. He used a lot of great examples and went over problems repeatedly to help students understand. His tests are a bit on the hard side but he does give partial credit for attempts at problems. I would recommend him to anyone!

Outstanding! Finding a great math teacher is difficult. However, the University of Tennessee has managed to find one. Professor Guest is able to get through to those who are clueless, yet still keep those who are good at math interested. He is passionate about teaching math and uses techniques most conducive to learning math. Awesome!

Dr. Guest took a subject in which I both hate and failed miserably the previous semester and turned it into an enjoyable experience. This man can teach. He is always, ALWAYS ready to help you. If you really aren't a Math person but still need to take the class, make sure you take him - you won't regret it.

Of my three years at UT. Bob by far was the best and my favorite. Professors just dont get any better. He always willing to help and works well around your schedule. I never like math but the two semesters i had him in Stats and Math Reasoning he made it fun because i could understand it. He he will also talk sports with you all day.

GREAT TEACHER! This class is easy if you make a little effort. It seems impossible in the beginning, but the first test is much easier than expected. I was able to make A's on all 3 tests. Homework is graded right/wrong, but daily exercises are effort grades. Best math teacher to take!

Such a nice guy! He is so ready to help you especially if you get behind. Very willing to work with you in any area you need it. Does assign homework for each class but it doesn't take long to do at all. You learn alot and he makes the subject as interesting as possible. Take him for all your math classes for sure!

I have never met a more helfpul professor that gives more of their time than Mr. Guest. Math 113 is NOT an easy class per se, but, he is always willing to help you understand it and if you put the time in so will he. Highly recommend.

He's definitely the most helpful math teacher I've ever had. The only problem I have is he tends to talk A LOT about one thing, but I know that's his way of trying to make the point crystal clear. If you're scared you won't pass math, take this class for sure. :)

He is a very nice man. In class, he can sometimes seem confusing, but he has office hours almost everyday where he is SO helpful. If you bring your homework or study guide he will help you work through the WHOLE thing. If you go to office hours and complete the study guide, the tests are VERY easy. The class is not "easy", but he sure makes it doable. Uses logical, real life examples and is a fan of the calculator, plus he is a well rounded intelligent dude.

Love this guy! It was the first math class I have taken at UT so I was nervous about it, but he was so helpful and very kind. I would definitely recommend him. I have seen other exams from other stats classes and his are very simple and to the point. Go to class and you will do fine.

Five stars, a gold medal, an A+, a scratch-n-sniff sticker and whatever other awards that can be provided that sum up the fact that Bob has set the bar for stellar instructors at UT. 3 hours a day in a mini-term and the guy still kept me awake and learning. Mr. Guest is a professor who really does want you to succeed. I went to his office hours on a regular basis and it tremendously helped my HW grades. Made an A but had to put in a decent amt of effort to study for tests. I would def. take him. Don't take 113 even tho advisors tell you to! Take 125 if you have somewhat of a math background.

I don't like but Mr. Guest made it understandable, easy, AND I actually learned the material. All I did for the exams was review the homework and I made an A overall in the course. Just do the assignments and come to class. If you're having trouble just meet with him.

Bob must be one of the best math teachers at UT. Go to class, because his explanations are what help you learn. He is also very accesible with office hours. The textbook is only used the first few weeks, and the examples given with the online homework are actually really helpful (no pointless work in this class!)

He's a good stats teacher. He gives you plenty of time to do your work. I usually got two weeks worth of homework done in about a day. He understands that it's an introductory course and gives you plenty of help. He expects you not to get it so he gets kinda excited when someone asks a question or answers one of his questions.

GREAT professor. Everything good you read about him on here is true. He makes himself very available for student. I had to miss a whole week one time and he sat down with me at the library and retaught the entire chapter. Most dedicated teacher I've ever had.

I suck at math, I took 115 fall semester with another teacher who was good, but I was sick most of the semester and was unable to catch up because I am horrible at math. I took Bob's 115 Honors class thinking It would be way over my level, but I had so much fun and did really well. He's so approachable and easy to talk to. 10/10 do recommend.

He is a really nice guy, and genuinely trys to help. Sometimes he dances around the answer, and isn't very straight forward. All in all he is a great guy, and I would recommend him.

I hate math and Bob made it at least tolerable for me. He is extremely helpful and hilarious at times. He gives you every possible chance to pass this class. You can easily scrape by with a C or you can give a tiny effort and do better. Some of the material is hard, but Bob is always there to help. If you take stats, take Bob. Also, go to class...

Hard class but manageable if you do the homework and pay attention in class. He posts previous semester's exams and they are almost identical to the exams he gives.

Bob is really helpful, and the course is fairly easy as long as you do the work. You have several avenues of help, so there's no reason you shouldn't pass if you're willing to help yourself. Beware: the class gets harder right at the end and he quits explaining when you hit the last chapter. Participation and group work: expect it.

Mr. Guest cares about each of his students and wants them to pass his class! He makes his teaching interesting and gives funny scenarios in problems on tests and homework. Expect online homework as well as written work. There's a lot of work and listening but you learn a lot! I've never done so well in a math class before!

My section of this class was honors and was a great honors class to take. My first stats class ever and I loved it. This may have been the toughest class I've ever taken, but I took it in the summer and it was very condensed. However, Bob was a great teacher that really wanted to help his students. I've never been great at math, and I had about 2-3 hours of homework every night, but I worked my butt off and did well. The tests are very fair if you study.

The online homework can and will be time consuming, but always make sure you do it a day before it is due. Always ask questions and for help. The test are pretty easy if you know what you are doing. GO TO TUTORING!!!!!

I am horrible at math so I was really afraid to take this class but he makes so easy to understand. On test even if you try the problem you will get points. U need to be in class everyday! Its always a new lesson (he never cancels class). A lot of homework. The videos he post really help. If you do the practice test he hands out you will do fine

I'm the most mathematically inept human being in existence. That being said, Bob makes math make sense to me somehow. His teaching style is so different compared to most math professors, but it worked for me. He is accessible during office hours and gives 10pts extra credit on every test. This guy is the man.

There's a lot of work for this class. Probably the most intensive math class I've taken in terms of showing work in class. Bob is pretty entertaining but it seems like he gets flustered really easily, so he comes across as kinda weird at first. The content is kinda challenging, but he does make sure that you know everything before he moves on.

The class is very easy to understand and the content builds up so nothing is completely different and challenging. The class probably matters on the TA you have, but with the right one it is a very simple class. There is a lot of homework and exam practice available to make the class easy to understand. Easy math credit.

I had Mr. Guest for a mini term statistics class. I got the highest grade Ive ever gotten in any math class, a 98%. Statistics is not easy but he makes it super understandable and the test material is identical to practice problems done in class. Hes also an incredibly forgiving grader, I received a 100, 105 and another 105 on his exams.

Bob Guest was hilarious. Aside from already being a great professor, he was entertaining and made class fun to go to. He encouraged people to come to office hours for help if they were struggling with anything and genuinely cared about helping his students. Great professor and personality!

I had failed this class 2 previous times because I am actually horrible at math. On the first day I immediately told Prof. Guest that I struggled with this class in the past and he made sure I passed with a B-. I also failed most of his tests but he gave me credit for trying. Based on this I can honestly say he genuinely wants to see you succeed.

I had taken AP Stats before this course but didn't pass the exam, so I retook stats and Guest makes the material much more easy to learn. He wants all of his students to do well and he tries to make learning stats fun. If you just need a math credit, I highly suggest this course and prof.

I cannot stress enough that you absolutely have to attend class for the in class notes. Math is a class that you have to learn in person anyway and stress attending this class. I have never felt more comfortable in statistics than I do now. The class is just a few written pieces and mainly notes then the exam.

The class probably depends more on how your TA is, but professor Guest's tests were clear and exactly the material we learned in class. His video notes are also very easy to understand, and you get a cheat sheet and supplemental materials when taking th exams. The class is not hard if you get your work done and study for the exams a bit.

This man knows how to teach stats... I was horrible at math in high school... and I mean I would fail classes. I got to his class and kept an A/B average throughout the year. He uses so many analogies that make underling stats very easy even though its a difficult concept. He is honestly just such a nice guy.

Bob was a fantastic professor. Math has never been one of my best subjects, so I didn't expect to do well in the class. However, Bob's dedication and optimism pushed me to do better. The workload wasn't too bad and a majority of the assignments forced students to study. Overall, he is one of the best math instructors I've ever had.

Usually 1-2 online homework a week with a weekly 20 minute in class quiz that is SUPER easy. He prepares you so well for them and never surprises you with something u don't know
