Funniest teacher ever! I have never had so much fun in math. If you dont do your homework and are a slacker you probably wont do well. The tests are average...if you study you will do good. He is a total goofball and is very good at not making you feel stupid for asking questions. Take him!!!!

Great instructor! High energy, plenty of examples and lots of in-class help. He can be a little hard to follow (loses track of his thoughts sometimes), but if you raise your hand and let him know you're confused, he won't go on until he knows you understand. Like all math teachers, works out of the book a lot. And he's a cutie. :)

Rob is a great guy, he works hard for his students. I have never seen a more dedicated teacher!

Very cool fun teacher, and he doesn't get mad if you ask questions or clarification. I would highly recommend him, he made math fun.

Great teacher, explains everything step-by-step in very simple terms. He is very good at developing different processes for students having a hard time grasping concepts. Plus, he gave us chocolates at the final.

Hauss is great. I came from a large university in Oregon and took his class to get my math requirement out of the way. It was for 5 weeks, 2.5 hours a day, 4 days a week. I have never been able to concentrate on math (NOT my strong subject) for so long and actually enjoy class. He is better than any math teacher I have experienced at U of O.

He explained everything very clearly. I was able to understand new concepts and applications because of the way he introduced them. Made the class fun and is a very good teacher.

Really enjoy his class

The first few weeks of the term I had a hard time taking him seriously (too much time spent standing in front of the class saying "uh...uh....uh....there was something I wanted to cover but I don't remember what". Once he got in the swing of things everything went smoothly though. He grades homework for completeness not correctness. An OK teacher.

I had Rob for Math 10 and then again for Math 65. I loved him. He mad learning math fun (which I hate). He is a goof ball which made it fun. He wasn't too serious. I know he has some ADHD tendencies, but you just have to work with it. Con: discipline for slackers/talkers. He got me through math.

He is my favorite math teacher and can't wait to take another one of his classes. Very funny and helpful, wish more teachers had his passion when teaching subjects especially like math.

Very friendly and helpful professor. Bit disorganized, could be frustrating. But he makes stats using real life examples so you can understand it better, which is really helpful. If you do his handouts, GP, and review sheet, you will do well on his tests. Highly recommended.

I've had Rob for Math 95 and again for 243. His 'lectures' makes it feel like he is having a conversation with you helping you understand what is going on. One of my fav instructors at MHCC

The type of teacher that makes you remember why your a math major and makes you fall in love with mathematics all over again. Passionate and super smart he is always always willing to help you and is very fluid in his planning and tests, if the class isn't getting something, he adjusts things unlike other teachers that have a really rigid formula.

Hauss is an awesome pre-calc teacher. He is very good at going over homework, answering questions, teaching slowly, and not making you feel dumb.

In 111 we used Wiley so you are not required to have the actual book, just the online code. He is a really fast paced professor, sometimes not really clear but he does try to help every way he can. He is pretty easy on grading. Curves the grades a lot always willing to help you get a better grade in class! recommend him if you dont mind fast pace.

A great teacher overall. His lectures are interesting and fun and he's always willing to help if you're not getting it. All assignments are online, most are very short. He gives take-home quizzes, and his in-class exams and quizzes are generally pretty easy. Does not test on things you haven't spent much time on.

Excellent teacher. I took him for MTH111 in 2004, and made sure I had as many classes with him after. Always willing to help in office hours as well. Anyone else learn the E song? 2718,2718,2718...eeeeee (to the tune of "the lion sleeps tonight") Hilarious!!

Hauss is an awesome teacher! Take him if you get the chance! There's always homework but you go over the harder questions in class the next day. He's very in tune with his students. He takes the time to answer any questions you have. Very enthusiastic about what he teaches which is awesome. Highly recommend!!

I always hated math and I still do but he made me cope with it so I could continue on! I loved him very hwlpful ! I'd leave notes on my hw when I didn't understand and he would reply on it or chat making sure I got it. He's funny as well makes the class not boring !!!

Great relaxed instructor. He makes it easy to learn and makes sure everyone knows what he is doing. Writes the hw problems on the board and anyone in the class can answer them and he will go over them. Very effective wish he did mth065

He's like Edward Norton's older brother, he looks and sounds like him! He's also a wonderful teacher who really cares about his students. He takes the time to learn your name and he will individually help anyone at any given moment. He explains things with enough detail to retain it and use it in the real world. I loved this quirky guy!

Best teacher I've ever had! He is so funny and teaches the subject with such ease. He makes sure that everyone understands what is happening. I enjoy every class and I look forward to taking statistics with Rob.

Hauss is just the best! He constantly asks if he is making something clear to understand and will continue to explain until the class is satisfied. Great lectures followed by practice work that make understanding these complicated new ideas a breeze. Allows notes on all tests & is a forgiving grader. Show up, do the homework and 10/10 will pass!

He's super awesome. Class is fun and it's important to do your homework. He'll give you credit for homework and it counts for attendance and adds up by the end of the year. He does talk a little fast at times and you may need to ask him to slow down. Super helpful when you go in during office hours. Would take him again! You work for your grade.

Math is my worst subject, but his way of teaching is so well taught and personable, that you'll be into his lectures. I actually looked forward to going to class everyday, he's hilarious and made class enjoyable. Very helpful when you ask him for help as well as when he see's that you're possibly confused. Would definitely take his class again.

Good instructor. Confusing at times but once u get the problems, you can do good. Homework is easy, but don't take exams without being ready. Pay attention in class or you'll get lost.

In a nutshell, he's the reason I started to really enjoy math classes, he explained everything so clearly and really made sure that you understood everything. He's super understanding and easy to talk to. Keeps class interesting as well, really wish I could take 105 with him.

I love this guy a lot. I really wish I could have him for other math classes! I hate math and I'm generally very slow at it, but I did outstanding in this class. He is an active teacher and actually cares. I learn the best with "human" teachers (good ol' cursing) Pay attention, ask questions, study. His tests are fair.

Proffesor Hauss is often quite disorganized, which some students find confusing, however, I understood well enough and I really enjoyed his lectures. He is very caring and doesn't like to see his students fail.

I have never been good at math and I've never really liked math. Hauss completely changed that. He made math actually fun with his sense of humor, he never called anyone out to make them feel less than. His tests and quizzes weren't that hard as long as you paid attention in class (he thoroughly reviewed everything in class before tests).

Hauss is hilarious! He truly cares for his students and can be a little bit of a mess sometimes but has a great heart. He does assign homework every class but it's not that much. Would definitely take again.

Best teacher I've ever had. So accessible out of the classroom and really cares about the student. Will work with you to make sure you understand the material. Math has always been difficult for me but Hauss encouraged me the whole way and really helped me instill a confidence in myself. Forever my favorite teacher!!!!!

Although math 58&98 are not my faves it has nothing to do with the teachers. Rob is s newer to teaching these classes and he really tries to reach his students. This man even took time out of his time to grade other papers and made himself available in the tutoring center in addition to his office hours. He is one of the good ones that really cares

I recommend Robert for any math class you can take. He's a good teacher and made the class easy and enjoyable.

I struggle a lot with understanding math easily but I really like Robert hes supper nice and patient, the only thing I didn't like is his teaching style, it can be a bit confusing sometimes if you struggle with math a lot, but he is always willing to help so it's not a huge issue. Other than that I would definitely suggest taking him.

I wish I could take every math class with him. Caring, funny, makes math class the highlight of the day, and I don't love math, but he makes it fun.

I took Hauss in 2012 and 2020 and he was great both times! Great teacher that helped explain math well!

This class was great! Hauss was very enthusiastic, kind, open to all questions, he does make the occasional mistake but is happy to own up to it. Does his best to get you out of class on time or early. He's happy to stay and chat after class if you need help. The quizzes/homework are easy you pay attention. Feedback comes from asking questions.

Hauss teaches math very well. He is clear on his assignments and gives good feedback. He is quite funny and his lectures were not boring to sit through. He is available for his students and I appreciate how much he was willing to work with his students when we needed to take missed quizzes and assignments. I wish I could take him for all my math.

I would definitely take another class with Hauss. He provides extra credit opportunities and is super caring. He is also super funny which makes class even more entertaining. I learned a lot and feel more solid in my math skills.

Hauss can sometimes use profanity and mess up when trying to solve a problem but he is a really nice guy. He tries hard to make sure his students are comfortable and will work with you if you communicate with him. I think he explains problems well and he always passes your homework if you turn them in on time and at least fill in a page.

Mr. Hauss was truly great! If you try, put in the effort, you can definetly get an A in this class. I would most definetly take another class with Rob, he knows his stuff and is a great teacher. There is a clear sylabis and he gives heads up on midterms and tests in advance and even a clear study guide each time. Best math teacher I have ever had!

It was my first math class at MHCC, but I think Hauss did great! There were extra credit opportunities and several options for office hours. He's easy to talk to and always willing to help. He breaks down the lessons, covers everything thoroughly, and gives useful context for future math courses. I will definitely take another one of his classes!

I've taken Hauss' classes before and he was great as always! I took the hybrid class, half in-person and half online. You can expect to study mostly by yourself when it's online, but as long as you're doing the reading and coming to class it's not too bad. There are 2 to 4 weekly assignments and you're allowed a half-sheet of notes on every exam.

Hauss is a quirky but caring professor who makes math fun. He can be a bit disorganized at times, but is always willing to help. The homework is manageable, and unstuck AI proved useful for study prep.

My favorite math teacher of all time. Funny. Explained material very well. Also, the reviews aren't kidding. This man couldn't censor himself if his life depended on it. Anyways he was always willing to ask questions and will work with you to make sure you understand. All in all a great math teacher.
