Great teacher, but his class is not easy. Your grade depends on two reading tests, the midterm, final, and a comprehensive research paper. His teaching methods are the best I've seen of a history prof. he is interesting and animated. He seems very passionate about his work and is easy to stay interested in.

You do not need to actually read the book or even buy it. he gives u a choice if you want to use the question from the book or the one from his online source thing...source thing = easy. the paper took me 20 mins to get a B on but most kids seem to drop instead of do it. the class was just mad easy and he was alot of fun to watch and listen to.

I?ve learned the most in this class this semester. History was never my thing but I liked how he taught it. He's nice and we could say what we wanted in discussions. He is a hard grader and alot of your grade is papers, but he will help you out and read rough drafts. No multiple choice questions?exams are essay too! Great class.

This guy is AWESOME. Take him if you can. He is excited and passionate about what he teaches, and he's a great story teller. He grades hard, but as long as you complete the paper and keep up on reading you'll do fine. I hated history before this class, and I actually learned something after taking him.

Attendance is KEY for passing, as your grade can lower with too many absences. There's only 7 things he actually grades throughout the semester, participation being one of them. He loves to answer questions, and sometimes can go on tangents, though they are still relevant to the course. Don't slack off on the semester-long paper, or you'll do bad.

This teacher is one of those that clearly feels he knows too much to be in GRCC and will grade like he is teaching a much higher course. Required two massive essay assignments for midterm and final and graded me more harshly than English comp 2. I would not take him again acts like he is teaching a higher class history and grades like it.

Good lecturer. But the grading is nuts. I've had teachers in lev 200 classes who weren't this hard. This is a lev 100 class that most people take as a Gen Ed. There's no valid reason for the amount of reading, and the tough grades. On a test that even my hardest of professors would have given a C or more, he gave a 50%. And I wasn't the only one.

Dr. Hendershot is a genius when it comes to history. He doesn't need any notes when he gives lectures. He literally knows it all. If you're someone who learns best from listening and taking notes, this class could be for you. However, you CANNOT pass without reading the book. Your grade depends on 2 quizzes, 2 tests, and a research paper. Tough.
