The class is not too difficult if you attend regularly. He give a good review sheet before the test and gives bonus questions that come from the text. He is a really nice and helpful guy, but sometiems he goes too slow and takes forever to explain stuff.
He is very helpful and will make all the time for you. Its not that easy and you always have to work but that is kinda the idea at college anyways.
He goes very slow and overly explains things. I found his class very boring. He is well meaning and does care. He tries to change things up a little bit with group discussions, but with such a small class it doesn't work too well.
HE IS THE BEST INSTRUCTOR THAT I HAVE BY FAR AT GROSSMONT. DO ALL THE ASSIGNMENTS AND REVIEW THE STUDY GUIDE THAT HE GIVES YOU FOR THE TESTS, YOU'LL DO JUST FINE.
This professor is awesome. He is passionate about the subject he teaches and a very nice and helpful guy. I would recommend him very highly to anyone.
this guy is so easy.pretty boring with his lectures.takes 12 years to explain something.do the study guides and read the book, you'll do just fine.taking notes on his lectures isn't too necessary, his tests come from the readings.tests on the finer details in readings..dont skim!!
One of the few History classes I've taken in college and felt like I've actually learned something new. Very thorough in his lesson plans. Very helpful if you are confused or just have a question about something not covered. Mostly just show up and follow the study guide to get a good grade.
Wow, the one thing no one has mentioned is... the 10-15 pg.PAPER required. Um.. that's a big part of the grade. He does help with the procedures... but what a big job it is.Req.s lots of planning.
True the 10-15 page, paper seems daunting at first, but Mr. Henry is there to help with EVERY step... And in the end," you'll have a sense of satisfaction" just like he said! There's so much rich information, and he teaches it clearly and without bias. I highly recommend this class. His attiude is very professional and respectful.
the power point presentations make it a very easy class. if you show up for class and take notes it's an easy A. there is the 15 page research paper....but Henry is there to help and he breaks it down into stages.
2 class discussions worth 50 points, about 10 quizes where he tells you exactly what to read to get the answers, 95% of the test answers are covered during his lectures and are on his power point slides. Class is very easy except for that research paper! If you don't wait til the last minute and go to his office hours early he'll hel a lot
This teacher was very unfair. I tried very hard in his class! The only thing that I was impressed by was that, every time I need help he would take time to do so! but thats their job, and he wasnt good at it!
Show up for class and take notes, and this class is a guaranteed A. Prof Henry was awesome, and he was definitely very passionate about history and helping his students as much as possible.
His class is awesome.
I found his class dull. He made what I would normally be intrested in very boring. He took too long to cover subjects. He did make the research paper easy to manage.
interesting lectures and details. Power point slides are easy to take note and do so cu'z you need them for the study guide 's answers. Quizzes aren't not bad if you read carefully exactly the pages he gave you. The historical project is ugly. He requires more English and writing skill than historical knowledge. have to work hard for this class.
HE IS VERY PRECISE AND CLEAR ABOUT WHAT HE WANTS. STUDY YOUR NOTES AND READ THE PAGES HE TELLS YOU TO BEFORE ANY QUIZ. HE GIVES STUDY GUIDES, AND IS VERY THOUROUGH. HE DOES SPEAK A LITTLE MONOTONE AND SOFT BUT HE IS KIND AND REALLY CARES ABOUT HIS CLASS. I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE.
Very well organized and clear. Good organized lectures- uses powerpoint slides during lecture almost everyday. Very helpful and friendly. Assignments were pretty easy and he grades fairly. As long as you study before tests it should be easy to get a good grade.
VERY BORING. He talks soft and monotone. Tests questions are difficult as well as the quiz questions. There is a huge 10 page research paper as well. Not recomended at all
The research paper was horrible. He cared more about the english aspect of it than the history part. Lectures are boring and he os not very helpful
If you dont like history, but have to take it, take him. He is very helpful and its almost like history for dummies. Everything is very clear and organized. Tests are not hard if you just put effort into studying theyre plain and simple. There is a 10pg paper but even thats not too hard if you just write it.i wrote 7 pgs and still got a B.
I took his class this summer and had a lot of fun. His writing assignments are challenging and come with very clear directions, so it's easy to get an "A". His study guides are complete and easy to follow and nothing on the test doesn't come from the study guide. Over-all a great teacher and a fun class!
He knows his history & clearly loves to share it. The research paper is simple & interesting, & the quizzes and discussions make for easy points. He was very bizarre, though: hurrying me out of his office when I stopped by for help, etc. He gave me a completely unjustified D on my research paper, and raised it to an A when I confronted him...
Very dry in his presentation. Difficult to study for his quizzzes. The term papaer was weird. He didn't give a lot of guidance, and watch for "Arguementative" when writing it. He's huge on grammar! Didn't really care for him, and had to challenge him about my grade in the end.
Super easy class. He has an interesting format with a lot of stories from history. Really nice guy who will try to help you out.
He says "Right Over Here" about 100 times in class . But, he's a really nice guy and very passionate about the topic. He loves history and read the encyclopedia as a kid. (lol). The tests are kind of difficult and the quizzes you have to study for them. The paper is 8-12 pages and requires a lot of work.
A little impersonal but over all very good. Gives you everything you need to succeed and offers a lot of bonus points. Go to lectures and read the chapters and you will do fine.
One of the easiest classes I've ever taken. I took it in the Summer so there was no research paper assigned. He gave us the study guide for the entire semester on the first day of class. Answers are spoon-fed to you on the power points he uses in class. Tests are cake with the exception of the ID's and Discussion points are easily earned.
Mr. Henry is very very boring. His quizzes are on material that he hasn't even taught you yet! And he doesn't give you much help. He expects way too much from his students. I wouldn't take him again.
He is a good teacher. The quizzes aren't worth very many points for the difficulty level. There are only 2 test throughout the semester (mid-term,final), and a term paper. Need to study from powerpoint and book to pass quizzes and tests. easy to understand but not super interesting. i would recommend this teacher to other students.
Very good teacher. Lectures were always interesting. Show up for class. Do the work. We ran out of time and were not able to cover Japanese or African history. Watch out for the historical paper that is due a week from finals. If you do not keep up with it, it WILL impact your grade. Ask for help! Very good teacher and I highly recommend him.
Mr. Henry is super nice and extremely helpful. His always willing to go over the materials . I agree with the previous student that you need to be on top of your research paper otherwise you won't make it. he expects a good paper, which is fair. His tests and quizes are not easy but he is very good teacher. challenging but fun, I recommend him.
I would not reccomend taking this prof. He quizes you on things before he covers them in class. You will read all the chapters stated, and you will be quized and tested on details, years, names, events. He is a hard english grader as well. In my opinion he isn't the kind of teacher that pulls you in and interests you at all.
It is not surprising to see lazy ass students who are always fishing for easy As. They don't want to learn and put any effort. Mr. Henry is wonderful and if anybody got a bad grade is because they were slackers. So don't blame it on the teacher. He's very fair and understanding. I think it's good to have high standards like Mr. Henry's.
I enjoyed this class and even planned to take Henry's summer class until he handed back my term paper. I got 44/50, however, attached was an entire hand written page of his comments emphasizing how bad the paper was. He finished by implying I had used the same paper for another class.I was deeply offended, but beside that I enjoyed this class.
Great professor. Slackers beware, the quizzes are on the materials in the book that he doesn't cover until after the quiz. There is also a paper at the end of the semester which he is a very strict grader, but if you do ALL of the work for the class (and do a good job) you'll get a good grade. Again, great teacher! Very interesting class!
This was an easy class, except for the research paper. But even with the research paper he gives you a LOT of time to do it, so do not leave it for the last minute. He is very clear and easy to follow. Overall, a good class.
Mr.Henry spends to much time on his stupid historical paper. He acts like he is an english teacher but he needs to remember he is a history teacher and nothing more. I hated this class and he would always talk down to me. The proof is in the class he only has 10 students max in his classes. Dont take him ever. I dont recomend him!!!!!!!
I have taken him twice, he is a good teacher. Be prepared for the effort, he quizzes on stuff you haven't covered. But if you read the text book you are more than prepared for them. The paper are not really that bad, there long but if you work on it throughout the semester it will be fine. I have learned alot in my two semesters with him.
He is a history geek while still being well rounded and fun to listen to. To the person that said he is a history teacher and nothing more, you probably wrote a crappy paper. Grammar IS important, and he does put focus on it. Henry is also fair and generous with his grading, and doesn't seem to pull any punches on poorly written term papers.
Not a bad class. It became more interesting towards the middle of the semester. The quizzes were fairly easy but that damn research paper....
is nt even worth going to class. everything is on website. repeats everything. and when a student questions him, he calls them a moron. is entirely useless and ridiculous.
This teacher knows his stuff but is so BORING!!! I love history but this over explains things, something you could say in one sentences takes him 45 minutes to explain. His mannerism are kind of annoying, he smacks his mouth a lot and laughs for no reason. I wouldn't recommend him. However, he is very clear with assignments for the class.
He is the worst professor ever. His directions are unclear, he has to use every minute of the class, even if it means reading us the syllabus or the outline for our research paper, word for word. The class is boring and stupid and isn't worth your time. He likes to forget that he is a history teacher, and grades our papers not on info, but on lengt
He is a horrible teacher. He doesn't know his material, just reads his power points, but never explains them. When the projector overheats, he has to stop because he does't know what he is teaching. On top of the huge tests and a research paper, he has stupid discussions that we have to do online that contribute nothing to the class.
Assignments are clear, and its always easy to figure out what your grade is Online quizzes are open book, that and the discussion bored makes for some easy points. Movie Review/ Research paper is hard, but if you get it done early enough and bring it to him in office hours he will tell you how to improve it. Class did seem to drag on at times.
Good teacher. Very helpful, but make sure you ask for help if you need it.
Mr Henry is one of the best teachers ive ever had. knows subjet very well and shares assignemnts are givein with plenty of time, not to hard but challenging enough lots of ways to get pts easy to follow and gives good instruction on what to do. test arnt hard but u do have to study for them, includes dissuctions and incorperates latin into class A+
Mr. Henry is brilliant. His class is full of history not just hitting the highlights. if u do the reading and assignments u will get an A. He does try to stay on subject to fit in as much as he can so he doesnt let alot of questions in, however he will try. the best history teacher ive ever had its my major, when i become teacher hes my modle.
FABULOUS TEACHER!!! I absolutely loved his class and I wish he taught 106. Went over all the necessary material in detail in class, with the important facts on powerpoint. If you know the study guide, you will easily ace the exams
Mr. Henry is a very good teacher and clearly loves history. He sticks to his subject and does not "wander" or waste the student's time with unrelated material. He gives plenty of reading homework and assignments. If you keep up with the reading and online assignments you should make a good grade.
He is GREAT at explaining the material and goes into detail. but his class is BORING:/ make sure you drink or eat something before that'll keep you up in class. However, i do recommend taking him because you will learn alot.
Pretty easy teacher, only 2 exams but they are straight from the notes. You do need to go as he has powerpoint but doesn't put everything on them that you need to know. The only thing I didn't like is I felt like he was trying to hold our hand in the class and explained everything into exhaustion, but overall good teacher.
Class is too easy. Hands down one of the best professors. I took anatomy and chem 141 this semester, hardly had time to do anything else, but aced this class no problem. I would read the 8 pages he assigns 30 minutes before class and get over a 100% on his quizzes. very knowledgeable on history too. made it semi fun.
Super Nice and smart. Always available during office hrs. Gives students all the resources(study guides) and reminders(constant emails) they need to get an A. You need txtbk, bc you need to read to prepare for his quizzes. His powerpoints are organized so note-taking's easy.
he knows a LOT about everything. Hes a walking history book But that also means that he goes on and on about boring things and i actually found myself asleep to his lectures. his ppoints are on blackboard. 4 assignments are challenging you must put in a lot of effort. take this class if you need to challenge yourself
Mr.Henry loves history, sharing his knowledge and is an excellent teacher. The time in class flies by. If you read the book and do your assignments, you should make a good grade.
Henry's teaching method is the lecture, little class involvement. His lectures are interesting. He doesn't focus on dates, but on cause/effect and events. His assignments are simple and his tests are easy, but you'll learn a lot of history if you pay attention. He's accessible and fair. Henry is a good teacher.
Overall a good professor.
Great professor who is very passionate about history. Stays on topic and uses minimal text in his power points so it's not an overwhelming amount of information. I really enjoyed his lectures and his teaching methods. Definitely one of the best history classes I've had.
He is not easy. I had problem in his class. I am an A student and I got C in his class (my only C among my classes). u have to work hard in this class. Americans did not have a problem because they had read American history in many previous classes. If ur English is not very good, u should NOT take his class. He grades hard on essays.
His class was ridiculous, if your not a history buff, or major dont take his class. He expects you to know it all before you enter his class. He gives study guides that dont help. He has two exams final is not comprehensive, also has 4-5 writting assignments that r very hard and require alot of detail and indepth thought. exams are very hard.
The most boring class EVER! Everything was easy, as long as you stayed on top of the work (which wasn't that much at all; I don't understand why people are complaining). He goes over everything 700 times to MAKE SURE we know what we're doing when we read the book. Didn't buy the text, just used it in the library for assignments. Hate history still.
I love his class! Take all the notes and do the few assignments and you're golden. Makes me wish I was a history major.
I consider myself a history buff so I enjoyed his class a lot. Mr. Henry knows a lot about american history. We had writing assignments and reading assignments but it really wasnt that bad at all. I recommend sitting in the front of class as his voice is hard to project at times. Great teacher if you love american history.
I thoroughly enjoyed going to his class. Could be an easy A for someone who wants to take the time to do the assignments. The tests are very straight forward. He even gives you all the possible essays before the test. Really wants his students to pass. Passionate about his subject which helps the students get into it too. I know I did!
If you have an interest in history take this class. His knowledge is impressive, every lecture is like listening to a story. There isn't a lot of homework, some easy reading and 4 writing assignments(which he grades critically, so effort is required). The tests are straight forward, if you pay attention and do some light studying expect an A or B.
I love this teacher. I was ever good at history and he explained everything like it was a story. He is very organized and his reading and writing assignments are so easy. He literally asks the questions with exact words from the book. I enjoyed this class and would recommend it to anyone.
Prof. Henry is great. His enthusiasm for teaching is very apparent. He enjoys his job and there by you enjoy going to class. Unlike other 3 credit hour classes that you spend 8 hours a week on, you really only need about 3 hours a week reading/writing your homework. If I wasn't so overloaded in my course load I would take all his classes.
Amazing Teacher. Only two tests with bonus questions available for extra credit. Little textbook work. Class is mostly powerpoint/lecture/notes--but very clear. The writing assignments seem overwhelming from their length, but he's a very fair grader. Don't leave things to the last minute and it could be your easiest class!
By far my favorite lecturer I've had. He has a great depth of knowledge and very clear manner of delivery. If you have any interest in history the class is a joy to be in. Not too much homework and 2 big tests(multiple choice and essay portion).
If I would have taken him for my first semester, I would have dropped out of college.
This class and teacher is one that you have to eventually warm up to. He is very passionate about history and it clearly shows in his lectures, which I eventually enjoyed. He is a tough grader, especially on writing assignments so don't expect to cruise in that regard just bc it's not an English class. Makes his expectations clear all semester.
He is a tough grader, but I find him adorable. I want to pinch his little cheeks.
This is the third class I've taken with him, by far my favorite lecturer at Grossmont. He is very focused with his lectures, choosing depth over breadth of topics. Assignments are evenly spaced out, totaling 5 reading and writing assignments, then 2 big tests. Great choice if you love history or like well told stories. He can be a tough grader.
Mr. Robert Henry is a phenomenal teacher. I took History 100, History 106 and History 103 with him. He is a competent, knowledgeable, teacher who displays a high level of professionalism and courtesy to every student. His writing assignments prepared me for the rigors of university writing upon transfer. He is an asset to the college.
He is a great professor! He lectures as if he is telling a story and his passion for history makes it hard to not pay attention. I took early American history as a GE requirement and I learned so much. He explains everything in extreme detail. Assignments are spaced out and easy. Tests are easy as well if you go to class, take notes, and study.
Be sure to get a seat near the front, he can be soft-spoken at times. Make sure to do the discussion board questions early to get them out of the way. The only tests are the midterm and final so be sure to know the material well. The lectures are very clear and the assignments are not too difficult. Overall a good prof., I would recommend.
Hes a great history professor. he has an immense amount of respect for the subject and is very passionate about it. He cares about the success of his students. As long as you put some effort into it you can easily pass. His lectures are interesting and test are exactly what is on the study guide. Its work but its not too hard.
By far my favorite professor at Grossmont. The passion he has for his subject is contagious. Write down everything in the powerpoints and you will be well prepared for the only two tests in the class. You only need the textbook for multiple choice reading questions. Really concentrate on the writing assignments and you will be dandy. Great guy.
Pay attention in lecture and take good notes, There are only two tests per semester so make them count, all the test material can be found on the power points which are discussed at length in lecture.
Take him because he is really top notch.
Do everything you have to do and youll be cool
Great teacher, Loves to lecture and informative power points. Gives out packets which contain lecture notes. If you are debating just take this course. He is great, he answers all questions and is a amazing professor.
Professor Henry is the perfect example of a teacher who sets his students up for success. He is passionate and very educated about what he teaches. I think Robert Henry is an exceptional teacher and individual. Taking his class was a pleasure!
My absolute favorite professor. Gives you the study guide right away and you use that to take notes. You need to be in class everyday- he likes the students who work hard and participate. Lectures the whole class which is definitely my style of learning. Need the book for simple questions but you do NOT need to read it.
This professor is ridiculous how he grades, he said there weren't going to be tricky questions but all the hw was nothing but tricky questions, the first test is a bunch of multiple choice and an essay in an hour and 15 mins. I've heard other teachers let students use outlines and notes but he doesnt allow that, in the last weeks he graded badly.
Professor Henry was without a doubt passionate about History. Easy class, got B's on both midterm and final without a ton of studying. He makes learning history interesting and this class is not much of reading out of the textbook. Easy writing and reading questions. Put some effort into the class and you will receive an A no problem at all.
2 tests the entire semester but the tests are hard , about 50 questions as well as a long writing portion. since theres only 2 tests the entire semester the tests determine your grade. hard teacher boring lectures but if you study the power point and the study guide you will do just fine.
-Simple, but effective teaching - powerpoint info is used on tests, but a packet that has questions to EVERYTHING you cover is handed at the start. -2 tests, that's all. One midway through, one final and it's not cumulative. -4 Writing assignments, 4 reading assignments, no quizzes or projects. This is by far the easiest professor ever.
Professor Henry is very passionate about History, so if you need to take a History class choose him! This class was very easy if you pay attention, study, and put in effort. Two tests, second not accumulative, one film paper, five writing assignments, and ten discussion board posts. His study guides will help you so much. Also interesting lectures!
Very lecture heavy classes; if you miss a class then you are basically on your own. He only posts the power point after he finishes them so that means it is up to 2 weeks later with only 15 words per slide. He goes off on tangents about actors that don't pertain to the class. In the beginning he was highly encouraging that everyone should drop.
By far the best History professor at Grossmont. You can tell he really cares about the topics in discussion by going in depth on the content and showing true passion to the history of Modern America. 2 Tests, 4 Writing Assignments, a couple of Reading Assignments, and 2 Class Discussions are the course. Attending class is key - highly recommended!
I have taken two of his classes and found that he is a good teacher. He makes you work hard for the grade you want and need. He is helpful, and he gives great lectures about the topic that he is teaching. As long as you are there to seriously learn, then you will get a lot of his lectures.
Professor Henry is the best. He has such an extensive knowledge on the subjects he teaches, and always has some fun trivia to share. You can tell he is truly passionate about history, and if you are too, you will get a good grade. I wouldn't advise taking him if you are looking for an easy pass, and definitely go to lecture.
Great history teacher, really could not recommend him more. Lectures are interesting and if you attend class and take good notes it's pretty straightforward to do well on exams. Truly a standout amongst Grossmont history teachers!
Really clear and precise, lecture heavy, but with the notes he hands out, it is very easy to follow. There are only two tests, and the questions are from the study guide, so if you complete those and study, you will have no problem passing. 4 or 5 writing and few reading assignments for homework. Both are easy to complete.
I don't really rate much professors, but he definitely deserves one. He's very passionate about history so he knows his stuff. His writing assignments are basically like an body paragraphs from an English essay: Introduce your topic, give the evidence, analyze it, unfortunately, I procrastinated so hard, i didn't do two of them. Highly recommend!!
Very passionate and well-educated on history. He's really nice, but I've noticed that he interrupts a lot when a student comments on a topic. He's clear when he lectures. His tests are easy, but you gotta study!
Henry is extremely passionate about the subject he teaches, but his voice is monotone and he dims the lights down, so it's extremely easy to fall asleep or get distracted while in class. Every week or two he assigns reading questions from the textbook or a writing assignment from an article he provides. Not hard to pass if you put in the work
Prof Henry is a great lecturer, makes history very entertaining. If you just pay attention in class and write down minor notes to remember each topic, it's really not hard to get an A in the class. A comprehension and a writing assignment are given every two weeks, but an adequate amount of time is given to complete them. Nice, but a dry humor guy.
If you need an easy A, DO NOT take this class, I'm an engineering major and the amount of work required for this class is nuts. He seems to grade tough, his lectures are interesting but wouldn't take him again. If you do take him, may God be with you.
hes a nice guy, & hes very passionate about history but his work load is too much. he assigns too many writing assignments that require way too much time & he is a tough grader. history was never a subject i struggled in, really dont recommend this professor.
Robert Henry is a very passionate professor. I had taken him for Early World History and it does use powerpoints. But provides more information about the slide during lectur. So it is up to you to take down notes. He provides study guides for every chapter and you find the answers either on the textbook or by going to class he gives you the answer
Henry's lectures are great to listen to. He has a deep voice and measured cadence, and he structures the class material to feel somehow dramatic and important. Henry teaches "Great Man" style history, so be sure to remember names and biographies. He makes it really easy to pass and constantly reminds us when things are due. Great class for freshmen
This professor is a solid choice for History as he is very knowledgable on the subject. He is a fair grader but makes you work for an A. The exams are relatively easy and there is some extra credit offered but not a lot. He does make you answer reading questions from the text book. Overall a solid choice for history
Hands down the best lecturer I've ran into in my college career. The way he presents makes the information so easy to remember. He has very clear expectations for assignments, tests, etc. Everything is explained very thoroughly so you are never left wondering if you're doing things incorrectly.
Professor Henry has mastered a unique way of lecturing that is so simple, yet makes you feel like you were in the early 18th century of Early American history. The homework load is very little and straightforward, and he is a very understanding and nice man. I would definitely take him again.
My favorite history class taken so far. I thought the work was fair, there were reading and writing assignments that could be lengthy but were easy to complete. As long as you study the two tests given are fairly easy. There are study guides given to help with lecture. Lectures were always told with great slides. Book is needed for assignments.
Professor Henry is really passionate about history, which I like. The homework assignments, while a little tedious, werent really too difficult. He is really great at giving lectures and answering questions from students. We only had two tests which werent too hard as long as you study hard enough. Overall, I would highly recommend his class!
Really great teacher and interesting lectures. If you do badly on the tests, you can still pass with an A if you do everything else. Make sure to do extra credit on the final. It will help a lot. You do a lot of work for his class, but its worth it. Homework is questions from the book and writing assignments are easy. Great class overall!
Professor Henry loves history more than your average history teacher. Classes are primarily based around lectures, but he is a great story teller and I found him enjoyable to listen to. Most of the homework and exams are based on the lectures but reading the book is also important.
He is a chill professor, and provided helpful study guides. Make sure you all read and study, becuase if you dont, it will cost you a good grade in his class
Professor Henry is my favorite history teacher Ive ever had! I took Early American History with him. He presents his lecture material in an engaging story-like format which works well with my sequential/visual learning style. He is extremely organized and gives announcements on what homework will be due in the coming weeks.
I took Henry for 108 and 103 and he is by far my favorite history teacher!! He makes learning about history enjoyable. He gives you reading questions that you use your textbook for. His writing assignments are kind of lengthy but if you answer the questions he gives you full points. His tests are hard so just make sure you study!!!
I genuinely HATE history so much, but Professor Henry made it interesting with his lectures and assignments. The homework isn't bad at all, just don't be lazy and get it done on time. I recommend watching his lectures, because in high school I would get B's and C's, but I took notes and watched his lectures and did great on my assignments/tests.
I took his 100% online class highly recommend not taking it, he has lectures that take hours for completion when having to listen and take notes. These lectures are detailed and take forever. He has very broad questions but wants specific answers for homework and testing, please don't take this class if you are a full time student.
Makes you work for your grade. His lectures are quite long but they are very detailed and makes it easy to understand. The exams are not too difficult. He has clear instructions for assignments but wants you to go above and beyond to answer them. Put in the work, and you'll get a good grade.
Prof. Henry really knows his material and enjoys teaching. He cares if his students learn and is there to help anyone who wants to learn. His lectures are interesting. I would love to take another class with him
The class was honestly pretty easy, although I got a B, I still think this class is possible to get an A in. Make sure to read as a lot of the assignments have to do with the readings.
Prof. Henry is a very intelligent and respected professor at Grossmont. His class was organized, well thought out, and had clear instructions. He sends daily reminders for assignments and quizzes to make sure you're on track. Make sure to watch the lectures. If you put in dedicated work, it'll pay off for your grade in his class. Definitely take.
Professor Henry cares about his students so much, he is always giving out announcements and its very easy to communicate with him. I have never been taught history in such an interesting way. I wish I could take another history class with him! The BEST.
Definitely one of my favorite classes this semester, professor Henry was very engaging with students and is passionate about history. He answers all questions as clearly as possible and easy A to pass. Beware though because this class is lecture heavy, you will end up watching hours of lectures a week.
It's a fairly easy class as long as you do the reading (there's not a lot). Love his lectures, he's personable, neutral, gives all sides of the story, and I'd interesting to listen to. He's not that strict, and grades on a few easy and short papers, midterms, and the final. The final only covers the second half of the semester, so that's nice!
History class became enjoyable in Professor Henry's class. He tells it like he was there, and has passion in his lectures. The thing I admired most was I never knew what side he was on, he stayed neutral and shared intentions and stories equally.
I hated him. such a boomer.
Nothing wrong with being a boomer. Loved his class and teaching style.
Loved his lactures but very hard on grading.
Lots of writing assignments but relaxed grader, lectures had engaging information just put on 2x speed and you're gold.
Great teacher and an easy class as long as you go to class & do the work. If you miss a class you'll be behind because you miss a lot of information. He's a paper teacher, you turn and get your assignments on paper. He's very straightforward, you take notes on the study guides, 6 writing assignments, 12 hws - multi-choice, & 2 exams not cumulative.
Informative lectures and his assignments are clear and pretty easy to complete. Just show up to class and take notes on the provided study guide and this is an easy class. He is very understanding and will work with you if you need help or need an extension on an assignment. Made me love history again.
I took Professor Henry eight week online class. The assignments were easy and minimal. The majority of the class will be watching the lectures, they are lengthy. But he does a great job of covering the material and the short and easy assignments make up for the long lectures. I recommend pacing yourself and paying attention to the lectures.
Professor Henry was great. I had a lot going on this semester with my father passing away but he made it very clear that if I ever needed extra time I could always head after class to go over the material again. I loved his essay prompts and forums, they were all very thought-provoking. It's a really good class if you pay attention.
Super great professor. It's very clear that he cares about history and makes an honest effort to interest students in the material. A solid amount of the assignments and test points are writing based, so be prepared, but if you pay attention in class, and read up to fill in gaps, you'll be totally okay. The grading criteria is super clear.
I loved this class! Professor Henry is obviously a history buff to the max. You can tell he is so excited to teach. The powerpoints are very useful and prepare you for the test. It's kind of like watching a youtube video because he is so animated. Tests were easy if you study.
His lectures are not bad, he has reading and writing assignments maybe every 2 weeks but they require some time. BEWARE, he's very tough on attendance ,he's even more tough on not accepting any late homework no matter how much of a reasonable reason you may have. I don't care if you were in the hospital or your mom died he's not accepting it.
Made me love history, Robert has an amazing way of teaching history like an awesome story.
Prof. Henry's lectures were great and I always looked forward to going to class to hear more. He doesn't assign much homework. When he does it is quite easy. However, the two tests each span very big portions of the class, so taking good notes and going over them thoroughly before the tests is essential. Otherwise, the class was easy and enjoyable.
Take him! Take him! Take him! Took this class as a 12 week course. Either one discussion post a week or a writing assignment. Then two tests one during mid terms one for finals. No quizzes. He always gives feedback on your post and offered extra credit before the semester ended. I wish he taught more history classes. You won't regret it!
pretty easy class although very lecture heavy (up to 4 hours per week). few assignments, final is not cumulative (covers second half of class instead of all of it). really easy to understand grading criteria. honestly, i didnt watch all of the lectures and scraped by with a C, although i did miss one big assignment which could have had me at an A
Wow... the semester didn't even end and I have to come in here and give this guy a bad review as a warning for other students to stay away from this instructor. I've never in my entire life taken a professor like this. He made my semester unbearable. The amount of assignments he gave is like he wanted us to fail. I wanted to cry. HE'S AWFUL :(
Hello, this professor is super easy as in his homework, he does give a lot of homework but its not that hard, if im being honest I chatgbt everything and ran it through AI and I still managed to pass without being caught or the assignments being plagiarized. I would highly recommend taking this professor if you want to complete the perquisite.
The amount of knowledge this guy has is amazing. His lectures are critical to understanding the material in this course but he makes them worth listening to just by his enthusiasm. You alternate two types of assignments each week: a reading one and a documentary viewing. They're a bit long but you have a week to complete them, the 2 tests are easy
Professor Henry is very passionate about History and I learned a lot from his lectures, despite taking college level history courses in HS. This course was online and very lecture heavy, but he provides clear guidelines on note taking. Professor Henry also provides detailed and constructive feedback on your work.
I took this class online, and it was fast-paced but interesting. The lectures were long, and it's up to you to keep up with them. The answers to the study guides were in the lectures and the tests. A couple writing assignments, but he grades based on effort, interpretation, and understanding, Nice guy as well.
