Math was no longer hard. He made it seen like sleeping or something easy. Very helpful and kind. Not uptight. He will laugh with you.

He explained everything in an way that we could understand if not he explained in another. He is the best math teacher and would take hime again. Please teach pre-cal/trig so I don't have to take anyone else. also, he was sooo funny!

A wonderful teacher! At least one example of every type of h/w problem is done on the board during class. Grades tests VERY fairly -- you will be given points if you at least attempt the problem. I haven't had a math class for 4 yrs but he instructs so well that I feel like it was just yesterday!

Bob is a wonderful teacher. I never had a math teacher that was so euthastic towards a subject. Even though he had a tendency to trip over the floor in the class, and he always laughed at himself with his own errors.

Even though I dropped out of this course for personal reasons, I do recommend Bob Hervey. College algebra is difficult, but he works hard to help his students.

Mr. Hervey is an excellent teacher. I took him for algebra as well as stats and he is very capable of conveying difficult concepts. He will make every effort to make you understand and get the grade you want. I also think his grading system is very fair. You will not regret taking any of his classes!

He is a great and funny teacher. I really hated math but I have a feeling that he is going to help me see it in a better way. I'm so glad he's not all boring and just working for money he seems to care about his students also

Bob teaches a great algebra class. He was so clear and made sure everyone understood. He's also very approachable. I would highly recommend taking bob for your math classes! I used to think I had no idea about math but now think that it may just have been past teachers and not the subject.

This is my third math class with Mr. Hervey. He is a qualified instructor that makes every effort to help you in whatever area you are struggling. Makes an effort to demonstrate on the board every type of problem on the test. Tests are not hard if you study the notes he gives in class, and are graded very fairly.

The best math instructor i've ever had, hands down! Its very easy to understand the concepts with his style as he uses different colors on the board so you can see the different parts of the problem. My efforts at 1033 19 years ago wasn't so good, but this time i expect an A! come to class, do the home work and pay attention, success will follow.

I HATE math yet got an A with Bob...He's honest, fair, thorough, funny and most of all a no "BS" kind of guy. Liked him so well that I took a couple of classes with him and recommend him to EVERYBODY! If you want to be treated with and/or learn to respect, this is the guy to beat! Bravo ROBERTO!

This is a very difficult class but he does a great job. There were 3 tests & 1 final (which counts for 20% as well as replaces your lowest test grade). If the test scores weren't high enough in one class, he would add points to the tests in his other classes. I took this class before with Hurley and had to drop it. Take Hervey for all math classes.

I signed up for summer stats, after withdrawing from College Algebra. I didn't think I would do well in this course. However, Mr. Hervey's explanations made it a lot easier. Homework was not collected, but I did it anyway to understand what he was teaching and I got a B. I would sign up for College Algebra again, only if he were the professor.

I hate math a lot, A LOT, but Mr. Hervey totally got me through. I rearranged my entire work schedule to get him for mac 1105. Best teacher ever. I actually was digging math at the end. He really breaks it down.

Makes it easy. If you are really good at math, you might get bored. He dumbs it down for those that are not so good. He is funny. He is very clear with his expectations.

Bob, is the best math teacher you will ever have. I knew I was going to struggle through this class, but he goes way out of his way to help if you need it. Take Prof Hervey for Statistics. I thought this class was an easy A. Most students in his class receive A's and B's. You must attend class and take good notes to receive a good grade. His lectures are what you can expect on his tests. Review sheets he gives prior to exams extremely helpful.

Very enthusiastic about what he is teaching. He answers the phone, and will stay after class to discuss any concerns you may have. He is very clear about what is required of you as a student to make an A. I really enjoyed this class.

Bob Hervey is awesome!! (He told us to call him "Bob" the first day). He is VERY knowledgeable about his subject and he is always willing to help. I am not a math person at all and in an accelerated summer course I was able to get a "B." He gives like, five examples of each type of problem and goes over homework problems on the board if you want.

He is an amainzing teacher!, with a lot fo energy, and funny. I'm not good at math, but he is a great teacher,he teach step by step all problems.. true that you only have 3 test + the final, but if you study the review and practice some problems from the book, you'r going to be fine. bob is a great teacher! dont take this class in the summer if you are slower in math. i had to drop the pace was too fast. he would teach a lesson one day, and have a test the next day. would only reccomend if you are good in math for summer term.

Bob is the best. Simple as that. My only beef with him is that his tests tend to be a little difficult. I've had him for previous classes, and he has given me a strong foundation in mathematics. Probably one of the best teachers I have had at this school. Broke all steps down very well. For the test you do it without a scantron so he rewards you points for each step making the tests a bit easier.

Great! He works really well with his techniques in showing you how to solve each problem. Goes over, and over it until you get it. Will not move on until everyone has got it. BOB! He's really funny and nice. Take notes, homework is optional but it's really helpful because he goes over questions from the homework if you have problems/ask him. He wants you to learn you just have to put in some effort in that way. Like I said, though, no mandatory homework.

First off, this class is not easy. There is a lot of work and studying that you have to do, but it's college. He lets you call him Bob and he is one of the most helpful math professors. You can tell he loves to teach and is very passionate about math. There is a lot of homework, and it's VERY fast paced, but Bob is the best! You won't regret it.

He is an amazing math professor. I took him for precalc/trig and even though it was a faced pace class he made it enjoyable. Hes very helpful when it comes to questions or examples. hes awesome at what he does and you wont regret taking him. Just make sure you do your homework and study your notes.

Class is tough & fast paced. No matter how tired you are always make sure to keep up with the homework. There are a lot of resources for help including him, an SI (tutor assigned to the class) & of course tutoring commons. He's very nice & will help you out if you don't get something.

I very much enjoyed Bob's class (yes you call him Bob) I have very little talent for math and I have to work to keep my grades up but he was always willing to help and showed us a ton of "tricks" that really helped. Wish he was teach College Algebra in the spring.

He has a way to make anyone understand math. It is by far my worst subject and if it wasn't for him taking extra time to help me, I don't think I would have passed. He's really talented at teaching and if you don't understand his method, he will show you as many ways as needed until you feel comfortable with the process and the material.

MAT 0055 is mostly computer based - your answers are put into ALEKS, which is the program the school uses for the class. Bob gives really good shortcuts and stuff, but Dion (his assistant) hovers and is condescending if you take too long on a particular problem or concept. I'd like this class better if it was a traditional lecture.

I very much so enjoyed his class he is very helpful especially to those of us have very little talent in math. I would definitely take him again.

This teacher was extremely helpful. He may go fast but he will slow down if you ask him too. Attendance it mandatory, there is online homework,and if you know you will not be attending class, notify him before. If you need help at all he will help you. He is very down to earth, humors and entertaining. He will help you to learn.

Definitely on of my favorite teachers so far. His lectures are hilarious and about as fun as you could expect from a pre-calc class. He explains things really well. There is lots of homework for this class. Go to class, do the homework, and you will do fine. Sometimes grades on a curve. He will drop you lowest test and replace it with the final.

Love Bob!! You have to work. Expect to work your butt off, but you will be thankful in Cal 1. You need to do your HW and study for exams. If you actually want to learn and walk out ready for Cal 1, then take him. If you want to slack off , only show for tests, and get an A then don't take him. I worked my butt off, was pushed and learned a lot!

Best math teacher I've ever had, ever. Hands down. Tough tests and a TON of homework, but honestly I've learned so much and he is an amazing professor!

This class was quite wrong. Although some days the lectures did use the full hour and 50 minuets some days we were online in class. Hervey likes to be referred to as "Bob". I received 100's on every weeks homework assignment but did not do well on exams and i ended up failing the class.

1147 is a COMBINED TRIG/PRE-CALC course. What students normally cover in two semesters you're covering in one, so go in expecting it to be tough. Bob is excellent he makes sure to cover everything you need to know for exams. Expect to do alot of HW, I managed a B after a 52 on the first quiz and not doing HW. After that I buckled down and passed.

Mr. Hervey is hands down the best math teacher I've ever had in my life. I really REALLY struggle with math and yes, the class is fast paced but only because he has so much to cover! He truly cares about his students, he's funny, personable, and engaging! I did have to work really hard to pass his class but if it wasn't for him I would have failed.

The tests aren't incredibly hard as long as you study your notes and do the homework. But the homework is long and class seems longer. You can miss class without it counting against you, but it would be hard to pass without attending. I cant say he was may favorite teacher but I wouldn't mid taking him again either.

Professor Hervey is a one-of-a-kind, stand-up, A+ man. His style of teaching makes you very prepared for the tests as long as you do the myMathLab homework as well. He will go out of his way, including changing the schedule, to make sure everyone is doing well. He makes you want to be good at math. Couldn't ask for a better professor!

If you miss class, you're done. Gives worksheets everyday of class that are turned in on test day for credit. He makes math easy and will help if you have questions. If you're struggling, See him after class and he will help out. Funny guy as well.

When I took Hervey for Intro for the fall semester I was like this class is so stupid and it will be an easy A since I'm good in Algebra. I though it was going to be boring but he is so nice and funny and he tries to help his students the best way he can. He repeats problems over and over until you get them. Great professor!

Best math professor ever! I took him in 0028 and 1033, and will take him for college algebra. He's fast when explaining but if you have question he answers them with no problem. He does give homeworks but that's the fastest way to learn math. If you do your homeworks and go to the lectures it's easy to pass the class.

A lot to do within MyMathLab but in class, he will be very helpful and teaches the subject very easily. He also helps answer questions from the test to help clear up any confusions.

He's a great professor. Before taking math with him, I had never been able to pass math in college. He's very positive, upbeat, and offers a lot of help to the students. He is also very funny and makes jokes in class. If you get the wrong answer on a test, he'll still give you partial credit if you show your work. Most professors won't do that.

He's the best math professor I've ever had. I took 1033 as an 8 week course. He made an accelerated, difficult class bearable. I didn't do well on two tests, but he didn't give up on me and kept me motivated, helping me pass. He teaches you a straightforward way with clear steps to help you learn better. He's also hilarious. He likes hard workers.

If youre bad in math & dont slack off this is the class for you! He doesnt give reviews in class for tests or believe in extra credit. This is the third time I have taken intermediate algebra. I realize I have had some not so good professors in the past and Hervey, who likes to be called "Bob", has changed that for me! I finally understand math. He breaks down difficult material and uses methods that help us actually understand. Lots of homework but it is helpful.

Professor Hervey is the best professor hands down I have ever had. He helps you if you have difficulty understanding a subject and is overall an amazing teacher. If he sees that you are trying in his class he has no problem helping you pass his class. He is very funny and witty, was never bored in his class and genuinely excited to go to class.

He teaches very well, has the students do problems on the board and then goes over the the problem once finished. Have to buy Aleks math program for homework and test. I did the homework within a few weeks, test can either be on Aleks or in person with him on tablets. No phone policy, he will kick you out for using a phone. He's nice if he likes u.

I adore Bob. He is rigorous and doesn't take excuses, can come off harsh. But he is brilliant and has mastered the art of teaching hard subjects. He reinforces learning and keeps you engaged. He is actually a rather lenient grader, but only if he knows you are a sincere hard working student. He is hilarious and knows his stuff. Top 3 at HCC.

Bob is a very nice guy. But I could not understand the material he teached and the Aleks program is the worst thing i have encountered in math. Lots of topics you have to do in a very short amount of time, when i do math this quick i tend to not remember the steps that it took to solve certain problems, since their are so many different problems.

He will not left you bored for even a second. It is hard for me to not laugh in his class. He makes everything so easy and logical.

Also, this year they integrated technology into the class. so no more memorizing difficult equations, just plug everything into StatCrunch and there is your answers. Super easy class

Great professor! Recommend. Grade was based off tests, homework (min of 2 max of 4 assignments per week), & chapter quizzes. With the use of the new technology program statcrunch made the class a lot easier.

9 years out of school & got a 99 in the class. He's great. Lots of hw, all due dates in syllabus and Aleks reminds you. 4 tests, final replaces lowest. Final is exemptable. Attendance not mandatory except for test days. Students work problems in class on the board so he knows everyone has a handle on the subjects. Sarcastic af too haha. Loved him!

Professor Hervey's class can be difficult if math is not your strongest subject. There is homework due each week. He can be funny at times and make jokes. He is very clear on how he grades. You can get exempt form the final if all your four tests add up to 360pts or higher. If you do the test reviews they count as extra credit on the tests.

Robert is hilarious, he can make you enjoy the time you spend in the class. He is super flexible with the class work and he needs to change a due date he will do so. He is not demanding on the things you need to do but if you want to pass you might need to do the homework as a review. He also offers extra credit.

Really nice, very clear teaching, likes making jokes in class, lets you go ahead of the course. We did not really use the textbook.

I actually failed College Algebra once before. I took this course with Bob and it was worth the drive twice a week from Brandon... And he doesn't mind if you call him Bob. Super cool and teaches well. They say if you can't explain something simply then you do t understand it. Well Bob teaches Algebra very simply and understands it well.

This professor is pretty good for beginners. He goes over everything that is needed to past. If you dont understand something, he will be gladly to help.

Mr. Hervey is a good math teacher. He goes step by step to explain things and will go into detail with any questions you have. He was test heavy so make sure you prepare for those tests but he did also give extra credit with every test upon the completion of the test review. Teaches very well with online zoom classes.
