Hard but fair prof, he would help whenever needed. His tests were hard but he grades on a curve. He always lets the class out early and uses a lot of humor.

He was the best teacher I have had at Macomb. Very outgoing, laid back, funny. The last test, the curve was awesome, a 72 was an A. Take him for this class, you will regret it if you don't.

Absolutely hilarious... who knew business law could be this much fun? Who knew a big shot lawyer could be so funny and down to earth? The best storyteller ever. Helps you remember legal principles with his crazy (and often true!) stories. The curved tests are great and class always ends early.

I have took 3 semesters at MCC and still have not found a better professor. His tests were not too hard, and the curve on them just made getting a good grade really easy. Thier were 3 tests and no other work in class. He explained everything on the test. His class was so fun he told the funniest stories to realate to law ?'s on the test.

My god, he's amazing! I'm sorry that I'll be leaving after this semester won't have a chance to take his second law class because he's such a great teacher. I really do recommend him because he's simply a wonderful, youthful guy.

Hetch is probably the best teacher you could hope for at Macomb. He may not be easy, but you actually learn, and he makes class entertaining in an educational way. His sidebars are relevant to the conversation and he never told a joke that wasn't funny. I'm taking 109 just for him!

Hetchler is one of the best instructors I've ever had. I enjoyed taking 1080 so much that I took 1090. It is a very interesting class; If you pay attention, every story he tells relates to a term so it is easier to remember on the exams. If you don't like Mr. Hetchler, you are taking life way to serious and you should attend a four year university.

He is a great professor. I would recommend him to everyone who needs to take business law class. I took BUSN1080, and ended up taking BUSN1090, because he was great professor. Exams not hard, attendance not mandatory. Have questions?-he will answer them for you b4 or after class or via email what ever is easier for the student. He is awesone.

One of the best professors I've ever had. He gives very clear lectures, goes over pretty much everything on the tests prior to giving them. There's a lot of memorization required, but it's not too difficult. He has a tendency to go off on tangents, but they're usually interesting and insightful. Highly recommended.

This guy is awesome. He is a great teacher. He always has stories/examples to tell. His class is based on lectures (you'll still need a book, not so much a study guide), so unless you can write very fast, its prob best if you get a voice recorder. His tests are kind of hard but he gives gigantic curves. He is very helpful too!

He Talks, you listen. The information comes at you at lightning speed but he keeps you intriged and interested. No hw, no projects, no quizzes, no questions asked. Just 3 tests. I wish every college course was like this. You wont regret this class.

Absolutely hilarious,I loved this class. Yes, it's hard, it's lecture based, you have to take a lot of notes. It's helpful to bring a voice recorder to record lectures. I always read the text & took notes from there as well. Hetchler has so many stories & always uses Jones as his main character. He was so entertaining, & I took his class at 9AM

One of the best I've ever had. He's absolutely hilarious and tells you lots of stories to give you examples. A legit. lawyer as well. I've had him for both 1080 and 1090. I wish there were more classes he taught because I absolutely LOVE this guy! He's awesome! But do your work, the tests are hard.

He has tons of real-world experience with law and is great at using examples to make the subject come alive. Grades are based solely on tests but he curves them so paying attention and light studying should get you through the course. Beware: he does NOT suffer fools, but is otherwise very nice. All in all, a great professor.

Hetchler is great! The only grades are 3 tests, but they are graded on a curve and are averaged in your favor. His real life examples are helpful in the lessons. Go to class, pay attention, take notes, you'll do fine! Heck, I've skipped half the classes and didn't buy the book and I still got a B+ simply because his lectures are that good.

Class was some-what entertaining. He knows his stuff and provides real life examples because he owns his own practice. Tests consist mostly of example problems, not just definitions. Exams are kind of tough but his curve is pretty big. We didn't use the book until half-way through the course. I would recommend him.

Very well practiced speaker. Lectures are informative and relatable to the real world. Grade based solely on tests, which have an extremely weighted curve. Attendance mandatory, as during the first half the class is all lecture material. TAKE GOOD NOTES AND PAY ATTENTION. Class was entertaining, hoping I can take him for 1090 as well. Recommended.

This dude is ancient and really knows his stuff. Can be a bit grouchy over questions sometimes. PAY ATTENTION and TAKE NOTES. Bad note takers won't do well in his class. Highly recommended

Professor, is extremely intelligent, he is a previous attorney and he has alot on interesting facts to add, most of his exam come straight from his story telling. Grades on a huge curve highly recommend him.

Possibly the best teacher at Macomb. The guy lectures for the entire class time and you leave. That's essentially the class. Grades on a curve, which you are going to need. Tests off of lectures and gives a thorough test review, (only 2 days before though) so you MUST study. It's true what others said that he doesn't like questions, but I think he dislikes redundancy more. He is a Defense atty, so be prepared he likes to hear himself talk! Tough, but great teacher.

Hetchler was a great professor for business law . People say his lectures are confusing, but I didn't even need to buy the book to get a B+ in his class. Everything he says is relevant to the exams so take good notes and pay attention because if you ask a dumb question he will call you out and the rest of the class will be entertained. Great class

Third time taking BLAW. With Hetchler I finally understood what I needed to know and WHY I needed to know it. His lectures are long, but worth it because you walk away with a lot of great information. Grade is based on three semi-difficult tests. If you record the lectures (invest in a good recorder) and read the chapters you'll do fine.

I really enjoyed this class! His experience in the courtroom offers practical application in the classroom. Take lots of notes and refer back to the book for clarity. He does only have three test, but he has a generous curve. I would highly recommend this professor and look forward to having him for 1090.

Entertaining lectures that keep you coming back to class time and time again. Even the questions on his tests are hilarious. The tests are not terribly hard if you study what he tells you. No quizes. Grades on a curve. Everyone I talk to who's had him ADORE him. I haven't heard a bad tale yet.

Mr. Hetchler is very charismatic. Lectures are entertaining but tests are odd. No assignments or quizzes, just 3 tests. He writes his own tests and they are a little oddly written but he grades on a HUGE curve (people have gotten a c- with 50%). Gives a great opportunity to improve grade on last test. Record the lectures because they're important!

He has lots of stories to tell that keep the class interesting and that stick with you to remember. His class is easy if you show up, listen and write notes. His test are different but does give a large curve. I got a 68% on a test that curved to a B-. I would recommend this class to anyone as long as they show up. Attendance matters.

He is a great speaker and makes it entertaining to be in class. He does base his grade off of 3 exams with a huge curve. If you pay attention, take notes, and study for exams, you'll do fine. Getting an A in his class may be difficult; however, passing the class with a C or B should not be difficult.

Prof. Hetchler is hilarious! i had him at 8am and i was NEVER bored. If you pay attention to lectures and take good notes on the lectures you should be fine. He is very intelligent! I did not think I was going to understand Business Law, but he uses real life cases and stories to explain certain topics to you. He is one of my favorite professors! Professor Hetchler is a good professor, he gets off topic a lot but he tells hilarious stories in his lectures. Make sure you come to class as he only lectures and there are only 3 exams, the curve is huge on the exams though. It is not a super hard class but if you're not going to pay attention or if you skip class, I wouldn't take it with him.

If you thought Hetchler was great in Business Law Season: 1 expect the same antics in Season 2 (BLAW1090) In Season 2 he's up to his same antics but with fresh material! Be sure to tune in to class and take good notes. You get three chances (exams) to redeem yourself! Reading the script (book) is not mandatory, but great if you miss a show

Dr. Hetchler's class is the gin in the Campari! If you show up, pay attention to lecture, and take notes, you will do fine. Tests are taken straight from the lecture, and lecture is amusing and enlightening, so don't miss class! This 8am-12p Saturday morning business law class was, in many ways, the highlight of my week. You'll love this class.

There are only 3 tests like everyone says, but they are fair and he tells you what all 50 questions will cover. Study and pay attention in class like you're supposed to and you won't have a problem. If you have a problem paying attention in lectures then consider another teacher.

I feel blessed to have taken him. Lectures are great because he's interesting and funny. You will not be bored even while learning contract law. With that being said, if you find it difficult to pay attention to lectures only, or skip class a lot then consider another professor. Show up and take good notes and you will do fine on the 3 exams.

I found 1090 easier than 1080 with him, But it's still not an easy A. It is easy to fall behind as there is no homework or reviewing, you MUST keep up on your own if you want the A. Studying for a few hours the night before will not cut it after not reviewing for a month. Take good notes, write down everything he says

I learned a lot in this course from the lectures. The professor made it easy to understand the class from giving scenarios that relate to the real world.

If you dont read or you dont take good notes, dont expect to pass. It is a lecture course, but he is entertaining so class doesnt feel like it is an hour and a half long. Seems slightly opinionated but not pushy on his opinons.

i had him for online class. every week you have 3 discussion boards where you also need to reply to 2 people. the 3 disc. boards are based off 1 chapter per board. Find answers in the book. gives feedback if you get something wrong and gives you the pages with the info where to find answer. 1 homework each week, 1 test each week. super easy

Professor Hetchler was very and was there whenever I emailed him. He gives the grades back very fast. Four discussions a week along with a quiz and an exam. Four discussions seem a lot but they were not that hard. Five extra credit opportunities. Fair grader and gives good feedback.

A+ Every week 3 assignments 1 test and 1 quiz must. The assignments take about 20 min each and you have to comment on 2 other students' answers. Class is not hard but you have to do the work. Exams are not tricky lots of extra credit as well.

When I first signed up for this course I was very nervous and when the first day information came out it didn’t help ease my nerves. However the way that Professor Hetchler broke down each week and provided us with everything we need to do well in this course. It was one of my favorite courses that I’ve taken.

Based on reviews for other BLAW professors I think the problems I had are with the course and not the professor. He seemed really nice, I had this class online. The questions are worded in a really tricky way so HW and tests are hard, but I learned a lot.

Took this as a summer class. I'm 3rd year Business at U of M. Don't believe the trolls. This guy is awesome. Well organized class. Tests are directly from the textbook. Professor gets back to you within an hour with an answer to your question. Makes comments on all discussions submitted. Has a great sense of humor
