very clear and straight forward
Extremely clear, gives practice test right before exam, I never used my book!
Weekly quizzes help you prepare for the midterm & final. Extremely helpful.
Straight forward, makes sure you understand
You don't need to buy the book!!!
Tests are very hard. not multiple choice like most teachers.
One of the best teachers I had at state. Very clear and easy to follow.
housekeeper is a good guy, any student should get a b
tests hard but anyone can pass.
don't need to read book, just go to class and pay attention...easy A
Very easy, will keep explaining until you understand. midterm is a little tough
His tests are straight forward, no tricks
Clear, good person, but bases class on 100pts, a little nerve recking
great teacher
No assignments, problems on quizzes on tests are just like examples from class
good guy. grade is highly based on just mid term and final,
He is an awesome teacher
class is only 100 pts u need to do good on quizes, midterm, and final.very clear
don't buy the book! you don't need it if you go to class!
Great teacher and easy to understand. Don't need book, but go to class.
Awsome teacher. DO NOT buy the book, just make sure to go to class. Everything he says in class is on the test. He will help you out a lot if you need it. best by far for Acct!
very easy teacher, just go to class everyday.you don't need your book.
makes accounting much easier to understand than any other professors. he's a good guy. don't buy book. just know the stuff he teaches from class and it's totally an easy A. =)
makes accounting soooo easy.. Ace every test & quiz.Dont buy the book, u dont use it once!!!
Great teacher. Makes it so that everyone can learn it. Very helpful. If you go to class you can get an A
Great person, wonderful professor. He really knows Accounting and presents it in an easy and fun manner! Come to class and take notes because he bases his quizzes and tests on the stuff he covers in class!
good teacher
Best teacher I've had, presents everything in a clear and concise manner. very helpful and sometimes funny, go to class and do good.
Very easy class if you go to lecture. Tests are off of quizes. If you have any questions he is very helpful.
Easy class, teast are just like lecture examples, gives bonus points, DONT BUY THE BOOK, you won't use it
Great teacher enjoyed the class. The fact that i passed is a miracle. It shows what a great teacher this guy is.
Awesome Teacher. Stay on top of the topic or it wil bite you in the @$$. Very helpful, highly recommended!! Cool guy too.
first off dont buy the book. midterms are right off the quizzes. easy A. he actually made accounting fun cuz it made me feel smart
Good teacher, lets you know exactly what you need on the quzzes and tests. However if you do poorly on either the midterm or the final, you will have a lot of work to catch up. He will be there to help though.
Awesome teacher, you will learn a lot. He is easy if you study and take notes in class. Tells you what to study, no suprises. I had a study group of four people and we all got A's.
Easy and fun class. The instructor is quite simple with explanations and examples. Just attend class and take notes. Study off of the quizzes and midterms because they basically reappear on the final.
Great teacher, very helpful. Explains the info clearly. I enjoyed the class, pretty much an easy A if you go to class. Don't buy the book, tests are exactly what he does in class!
You don't have to use your text book much. His in class explanations of the material are good. Tests are easy. He doesn't check attendance either. I highly recommend him.
DONT BUY THE BOOK! Enjoyable class, he sits in his cubby the whole class while saying," Hit the cash, slam dunk, whatevs, and the cash is in el cajon and we are at SDSU."
Don't buy the book. Lectures in class and actually teaches you how to prepare finacial statements. Goes over them w/you in class and in class assignments are exactly like the test.
No need for the book! All the midterms and the final are exactly like the class assignments. Study them and you'll pass the class.
Best teacher ever!

Ditto on previous comments, especially about not buying the book. His tests are easy if you go to class and do minimial studying. Don't make any stupid mistakes like transposing cuz it will cost you an "A". Believe me, I know, highly recommen
Extremely clear and easy. No Homework. No reading. Never used the book. He gives you test problems prior to the exam. For the exam he just changes the numbers. Super Easy. and A+++ course to take.
By far the best class I have taken at State. I actually enjoyed class because he made everything easy to understand. GO TO CLASS is my only advise, if you do, you will definitely get an A. Best teacher I have had here...
Don't buy the book! Makes the concepts easy to understand. Go to class and you'll do fine. Final is a bit tricky.
Don't buy book! His casual approach to the material and laidback teaching style makes the class easy and a lot more fun!
don't buy book. quizzes and tests are exactly like problems on the board. so go to class.. easy to miss class here and there without any penalties. helpful if you have questions.
Go to class, take good notes and study off the notes. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! Quizzes an exams are exactly like the lecture problems. Lectures are so clear that it makes the subject easy. A very good professor, highly reccomended.
This guy's the best! Don't need the book. Just go to class b/c he'll tell you what will be on the exams.
DON'T BUY THE BOOK. Very easy class. I never went to class and got a B, but if I had taken every quiz would have had an A. Very Helpful. Lecture problems are exactly what is on the quizzes and tests.
He's really funny. Just go to class and follow what he does on the board. DO NOT GET THE BOOK. You don't need it. Everything on the quizzes and exams are based on everything he does on the board, which is his own problems. JUST GO TO CLASS!
Great Teacher. Tests are exactly what he teaches. No surprises on tests at all. All you have to do is go to class(important ones) and minimal work outside of class for a A.
Easy class, no need for book unless you dont go to class. Teacher is very good, tests on in class lecture 100%
Easy course. Go to class and do the problems he passes out in class. Don't need the book though it does help with comprehension.
Guy's an UBER nerd. The class redundant and meticulous and overall it was annoying. Can't blame the guy though. Accounting sucks. Go to class! He taught well, and I think I got something out of it. No need for the book.
His class is unbelievably easy. Be sure to pratice the homework problems he hands out in class because they are EXACTLY what will be on the exams. The easiest A ever.
Class is super easy, problems are EXACTLY like tests but does not prepare you well for 202.
Very easy class, just show up! And then there's a group paper, but no biggie. Easiest A I ever got.
Class is very easy. Just go to class and copy all the notes. He goes over all the steps and problems several times until it's ingrained in your head. Tests are exactly like the homework. You don't need to buy the book.
Easiest class ever! Just go to class, copy the problems. Practice, practice, practice.. like he did in class. Tests are exactly the same step with the practice in class

Insanely easy. tests exactly like practice problems don't buy book even if he tells you to. Looks like Kip. He is cool
DONT BUY BOOK. he will tell u to. u never use it. it may be confusing in the beginning. But u will get it. Just memorize the class assignments. SO EASY. easiest acctg class at sdsu. Take it!
Really easy to understand and wants you to do well.
Tests are identical to practice problems. Study how to do them and you'll be fine. go to class 50% of time and do practice problems. 3 tests 25-30-45%. don't buy book, you'll never use it!
now this is probabaly one of the best teachers i have had at SDSU. he breaks down the problems and doesn't go on until everyone gets it. problems in class and hmwk problems are identical to the tests. meaning no surprises. take him for a good solid A
Houskeeper is very straight forward! Dont waste your money on a book for his class...becuz he doesnt follow it. I took this class over the summer and there was 2 quizzes(5)Questions, and 2 midterms(9)Questions. Professor also curves, and gives partial credit. This teacher is perfect for non-accounting majors so remember this before you register.
This teacher is great. He is really fast, but if you're smart and alert you'll be good. Just ask if you don't understand, he'll break it down for you. He is funny and easy going. Drink an energy drink before class. He's turbo speed, but an awesome teacher. I got an A-.

Did a 360 degree turn. Taught intermediate class how to use irc code & then quized on material not covered. No book. No syllabus. Class average on 1st quiz was 34 out of 100...every quiz after that was failing for the class "average" Never do this guy's class again! What a jerk!
I'll admit it...his class forced me to learn the ins and outs of each tax topic covered. In that regard, he was successful. I was also happy with my end grade in his portion, even though it looked like it was going to be dismal. Overall a very smart guy and good motivator. I disagree with the guy below me.
Houskeeper taught what you needed to know on the topic and for the quizzes, but he really knows how to make you work those problems. Be prepared for the quizzes, know those problems inside and out.
Really easy if you come to class. Make sure you take the quizes and tests seriously because he gives no extra credit and not that many points. Really accessible and willing to help. Recommended.
Tests are exactly like homework/classwork problems. He's very straightforward and a really nice guy. He gives 4 exams so your grade isn't dependent upon only 1 or 2, which is nice. I would recommend taking this class.
Was very easy for me. He's nice and funny, too. Others in class seemed to struggle, but they also never did the hw problems. He assigns enough hw to fully prepare you for the exams, but most of the idiots in my class didn't do them. The group paper was easy, too. A+
i went to class everyday...took notes, honestly studied...and still failed...this is an incredibly difficult class...it doesnt matter if your good at math or not...its all about concepts....
Do the homework and you'll do fine on the test.
If you can't pass this class you are retarted. I took Managerial before and was lost the whole time. This class actually makes sense and is more like a math class than accounting. There are 7-8 quizes and two tests. He lets you drop your lowest quiz. You should totally take him if you have to take accounting.
Very well spoken teacher. Fully understands what he teaches and trys to get the class interested.PROS: Always at office hours and willing to help. Assigns HMWK to reflect tests but his test/quizzes are in word problem form. 7quizzes,3 tests=100 points.CONS: Teaches fast,quizzes/exams are difficult if you dont study.Mainly,go to class/O.HRS to getA
Poor teacher. Unclear in teaching and uses too many abbreviations. You'll be lost and in a daze for the first week, esp. since he doesn't even explain what you need to do for the homework assignment and doesn't clearly mark anything. He's funny, though, and once you understand how do balance sheets and P&L statements, you'll ace the class.
If you take accounting, of course you have to have a sense of logics and basic algebraic skill. Houskeeper condenses the lengthy information in the text book into cut and clear sections with vivid scenarios as examples to lead to the main points of his lectures. I don't rate teachers on easiness, I rate on their real teaching. He's worth my words.
Prof. Houskeeper seems like he doesn't care much about the students he teaches. He is there to ramble off something about accounting and hopefully you can make sense of what he has to say. His use of abbreviations is very annoying and he is a bit condescending when students ask legitimate questions. He can crack a good joke every once in awhile.
I thought the professor was very clear and logical in his presentation of the material. I don't like accounting, but he presented it pretty well. You can't miss lecture in his class though, because YOU WILL BE LOST.
Best prof for managerial. Clear & concise style of teaching. Goes really fast. 7 quizzes, 1 midterm & final. Drop quiz. Gives exmple probs on excel so if you miss lecture, you can figure out how to do the material. HW helps for quizzes. Quizzes help for midterm. Final not cumulative. GO TO CLASS. PAY ATTN. Got C but i missed a month of class total.
He is awesome... totally helpful
What a terrific lecturer! His explanations are clear and the problems are straight-forward. No need for a private accounting tutor.
The best Professor I've seen in SDSU. He lectures very clearly. Even a non native speaker with no accounting background can understand very well!
Not boring like most accounting teachers. Very helpful, test questions follow exact examples given in class and on blackboard. I never used my book, just attended class regularly and got an A. Very hepful. If you are taking accounting 202 take him!! (way better compared to other teachers my friends took)
Good teacher, easy tests. Make sure you go to class and make your own outline for every formula/problem
One of the laziest professors I have ever encountered. Completely ignores the textbook and simply makes up his own problems. I got the clarification I needed by seeing a private accounting tutor regularly, and that is why I earned an A in this class.
Completely disagree with the last comment- Houskeeper is one of my favorite professors at SDSU. he is clear and concise, and doesn't teach unnecessary info. if you attend class regularly and do the blackboard problems you should have no problems getting an A in this class.
If you are a lazy slacker, Houskeeper is the professor for you. However, don't expect to actually learn Managerial Accounting, because you will finish the class without learning a thing. In my case, that fact came back to haunt me in classes I took in the future.
go to every class and study the blackboard problems and you will pass; he gives out some bonus points at the end of the semester so dont give up.
This class is great as long as you are not an accounting major since you don't really learn the mechanics of everything. He explains things very well enough and breaks down the problems so they are easy to do. You MUST go to class or you will fail. Pay attention and do the practice problems and you will have no problem with this class.
Houskeeper is an awesome professor. He is very good at explaining everything we do in class. Tests are exactly like the practice problems on Blackboard. 100 percent on my first test and 97 on the 2nd. No homework ever- but be sure to do Blackboard problems and come to class! He makes accounting not seem as boring as it dounds. Take him!!
The textbook was NEVER used, which made it difficult to understand much of what he taught. Don't waste your money on him!
If you need to take accounting, take it with Houskeeper. Very good at teaching and explaining.Makes sure that everyone understands what is being taught. Go to class, do the blackboard problems, and study the in class examples and you will be fine for the quizes and tests. Easy class and straight forward
This guy doesn't teach you anything. LoL, it's funny just thinking about this semester with him. Know how to do the blackboard problems and your good. You should attend class too because it helps you remember the steps to complete the problems. I got a C+ and I didn't put very much time into this class. He's a joker and he reminds me of Tim Taylor.
Save your $ from the book. He uses blackboard problems only. I like his method of teaching. You just have to attend class and understand how he writes the problem because they are the exact same on the test. Funny guy, probably easiest way to pass acct 202.
I am a pretty good student, but I had a hard time with the tests (mid term and final). I attended every class meeting. I think he could focus on more of what the tests will cover.
He is funny. Like the kind of funny where he makes jokes then laughs at himself. I liked his style. Don't buy the book!!!! go to class Don't miss quizzes that is the easiest way to ear points. No homework. Mid-term/final are hard but keep your quizzes to stuy from and you are golden. I got a B because I missed a quiz. He's a nice guy.
Good professor. Knows his stuff well. Not a demanding teacher and is very generous with help during office hours. If you put in a bit of effort, you can get an A.
He is an awesome professor! This is my second time taking the class - the first time I did not understand it at all and didn't pass. Now, thanks to Houskeeper I have an A. Just do the blackboards and come to class and your good to go. Don't need the book
Very helpful professor. Do the blackboard problems because that's what you're mostly tested on. I got 100% on my first midterm(so did half the class), 95% on the second midterm, and 100% on the final. It's not hard if you pay attention. He does a couple problems out of the textbook during class, but you don't really need it that much.
This professor was amazing. I ended up getting 100% on the first test and all i used to sutdy was the blackboard problems. If you do bad, its your own fault. He gives you the exam weeks before and you basically have to memorize how to get the answers. NO BOOK NEEDED. I borrowed my roomates book a max of 3 times. accnting sucks, but w him its great!
Awesome teacher. Makes accounting very clear and simple to understand. You MUST go to class. Don't need the book, just go to class and study blackboard problems. He is very helpful if you are lost. Just try to keep up during lecture.
I was failing this class going into the final, but I ended up passing b/c it was easier than the midterm. Houskeeper is a cool guy and helped me out tremendously during office hours. If you take him, just make sure you study the blackboard problems and GO to class. Phew, I'm glad I'm done with accounting!
This guy knows his stuff. If you study for the tests and quizes you'll do fine. His teaching makes it really easy. Class isn't mandatory but it definitely helps to go. Every point counts in this class but he drops the lowest quiz score. There is 2 tests and like 7 or 8 quizes. Take this teacher!
He rambles on, rarely uses book, had no idea what he was talking about. Tests are do not look exactly like blackboard problems. He abbreviates most of the words so you dont know what they mean.
He is a great teacher! Although the material is not that exciting, he makes up for that. He is really nice, approachable, and cracks jokes every so often. If you go to class and do the blackboard problems, the quizzes and tests will not be too hard. Good luck and if you can take Houskeeper!!!
This guy is so easy. Don't buy the book even tho he says buy it. Just study the blackboard problems and go over the examples from class and you should get an A. If you can't get an A or B in this class then you are an idiot. Hands down easiest accounting teacher at state.
I didnt learn a thing in this class. All you have to know is "how" to do the problem, not what it means. I cant tell you a single thing I learned, but managed to ace every test and got a solid A in the class. DONT BUY THE BOOK!!
He teaches at UCSD too. This class is very straight forward. Memorize how to do the homework problems and you should get an A or a B. It might be difficult to get an A because there is only 10 problems on the test, and if you miss two that is an 80%. Super nice guy. Cares a lot about his students and what they learn.
He uses too many acronyms, doest explain what he is teaching, and is super annoying in the way that he teaches. I would NOT recommend taking hi. He's boring and makes class miserable.
