Okay..First of all I hated going to his class! I took him for the 2007 fall term and he gave a 25 minute lesson and left the class watching a movie. This class is by no means hard in terms of recieving less than a B if you put forth the effort with the tools Mr. Jones provides (the PPT's). Where this instructor fails is that he essentially lied to us about the exams. He told us the PPT's and movies were the notes and not to bother taking any, but there was more info on the exams. The study guides were interesting, but if you wanted to watch the films, good luck finding them. He tells you they're on Netflix, but none of them were on Netflix. Some were on other sites or just nowhere to be found. The course can be done in a week, but in the middle of the semester he got upset that students were doing that. What did he expect?

Everything in course opens up at beginning of semester, I finished in a month. Easiest and quickest class I've ever taken.

Without a doubt the easiest course I've taken at UCF. Four exams (25 questions each, with an hour to complete), all given to you up front to be completed any time before the final exam date. Personally, I did them all in a day. Every answer you need is in the material provided, nearly word-for-word. If i had a question, he answered within a day.

I took this course online. Your grade is based off of 4 tests, they are easy. Everything is open for the students to work at their own pace. Not much communication with the students but that did not bother me. I highly recommend this course with Prof. Jones.

Easy class, but tests weigh heavily since there are no assignments. I only missed two questions on each test (there are four) and ended up with an A-. One film screening per week + study guide notes and additional clips to go along with them. The final exam had questions from the previous three tests.

It's just 4 open notes exams you can take at any time. He does not interact with the students whatsoever, and the class can be a little self indulgent. It's a "history of motion pictures" class, but he claims that there are no 80's movies that could be considered "classics," so he has you watch his own film. It comes off as lazy. Easy, but lazy.

If you know you'll have AP English credit for LIT 1005 (5s on Lit and Lang), you don't need this credit for GEP 5, something I wish as an incoming freshman I had been told. (You don't need GEP 6 if you took IB English HL either and got a decent score!) As for this class, don't drive with your feet! You'll be fine if you figure it out.
