If you could put together all the things that make the perfect prof, you would get Kenedy. He is brilliant, great lectures, available to help his students... unlike many profs at York. You have to be prepared to work for good marks. The only lecture that I look forward to attending. Wish I could have him for every class!!

Very good professor. Always goes over the things he says in lecture like 2 or 3 times. He says "keypoint" all the time throughout lecture, and although it seems like he says it a little too much, at least he lets you know the very important things. Available for help, all the time. Only thing is, there is a lot of work for a 1st year course.

Really good professor. Knows what he is talking about and he prepares you well for exams and assignments. Exams are a bit difficult because of the amount of information you need to know but this prof motivates you to do well!

If you actually do the work, this class is really good and interesting, not something that can be said for every class at 8:30 in the morning. the prof always stops and asks if there are any questions and will definitely help you if you go to him. He helped me a lot in the final assignment and helped my writing ability to improve. Great prof!

Amazing professor. Taught really well. Assignments were not so bad but had a lot of expectations. However, everything is broken down step-by-step so the instructions are not hard to follow. The exam is a bit challenging, but not hard to do. It's a first year course so its not bad at all.

I would run, run screaming into this class because I loved it so much. this prof is one of the only ones who can teach social theory and will help you all he can instead of spoonfeeding you some post-modern fantasy of leftist loser fantasy ideology, as is the case with most soc profs at York. the t.a. was horrible not Kenedy. although the T.a. was****endous beyond anyone's imagination, Kenedy was great. he provided clear expectations and definitions of the course material and theories covered. He has very clear lectures and makes sure to slow down when he thinks that he is saying something that will be found on the exam. His exams are fair and he includes a good mix between text book material and his lectures. Make sure that you attend all classes!!!!

Good class, even if it is methods. the prof provided us with a very thorough review for the midterm exam and was open to asnswering all of our questions. Not bad for a methods class.

This prof cares. He's hard, however, I'm not paying this much money to be spoon fed. He supports his students. He is honest. He is understanding. He's smart. I will carry his notes with me for the duration of my career in SOCI. Other profs speak highly of him and he is very active within the uni. We need more profs like this!

This professor is incredible!! I was fed up with school and being just another number at York until I took his course. He actually inspired me to become a teacher because of the care and patience he showed me and the way he made the course material so engaging. I even switch my major to Sociology because I ended up loving it so much!

This professor is very good but his class is very hard. You will cover a lot of information in a very short period of time. The take home exams are very challenging and it is true 3 essays 4 to 5 pages single spaced. However he works with the students and cares. This course is not for the weak of heart. Hard work but a great foundation.

very helpful,and clear. he lets you know the key points to write down in the lectures. his lectures are not boring. he really cares about his students. his assignments are challenging, but that's because he wants you to work hard. very approachable and all around nice guy. he's my favourite professor so far, i got an excellent grade in his class!

He is probably one of the hardest professors I have been taught by. I would not recommend this course for 2nd year students as the work load is exceptionally demanding. However, he is very informative, and you can actually learn something out of his lectures. Overall, this course was a journey, but once you've finished it, you'll feel accomplished.

This prof is actually a very good teacher because he actually teaches you the material (which is what a teacher should do) and his exams are fair. All you need to do is attend classes and do your work and you'll do well.

Excellent Professor. BUT > you MUST do the work. Very clear and thorough, but is very demanding. Do not take with other heavy courses. LOTS OF ESSAYS - but is worth it for classes to come.

Professor Kenedy is the best prof I have ever come across during my 3 years at York.I had a great experience with him , he was very helpful very approachable. I wish all the other profs were like him . Once you do the work he gives you the grade. I truly love his teaching style. Its too sad I am graduating this year and will not have him again.

The best professor I have had within the three years I have been at York university. He is very understanding - just be honest with him and do your work and you will get the grade you deserve. If you attend the class he recognizes it. Be sure to complete the weekly journal responses. When he offers an outside helper with your essays COME TO CLASS. It will definitely help you with your writing. He gives you what you deserve but if you want to do better he offers advice how to succeed. No BS from this guy for sure. Thorough prof!

phenomenal teacher who wants to help his students learn how to think. will go the extra mile for you but you have to come to class and participate. there is a decent amount of work and its not the easiest but he is there for you and its worth it . you really learn a lot and his clarity helps

I am honoured to say that I had Rob as my prof. last year and he is hands down the best prof. I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He is a wonderful person, teacher, and mentor. I had Professor Kenedy a few years ago during my first year. He is brilliant. He knows his stuff, but he does not play around, so do your readings and show up to class. He's a fair marker and really cares about sociology. He lays out what you have to do to pass but doesn't give anyone a free ride. All in all, good prof.

This class is amazing! I never had an interest in sociology until now! Kenedy is definitely a hard teacher. BUT he wants you to succeed, so if you do your work, you'll receive great feedback. Go to EVERY lecture because that's what is on the test, do your assignments and write down everything he says, especially the KEY POINTS.

He is very tough, and will make you work for your marks, so it's not an easy class. But the way he lectures is excellent, he keeps you interested and whenever you ask for help he is more than willing to help because he cares about his students a lot. And he cares about participation so you have to do the readings weekly because he takes them up

Professor Kenedy is a really amazing professor, he is extremely knowledgeable and wants his students to succeed, that being said, he will not spoon feed you or give you an easy grade. I found him to be tough but fair, as long as you do your work, you will learn and enjoy his class as well.

He prepares his students for 4th year classes and graduate school. If you are not serious about future studies and only want an undergraduate degree then take a bird course. He prepares you for reality outside York. Take this class you won't be disappointed if you put in work and not slack off keep up with readings and due dates you will be fine.

Professor Kenedy has been one of my favourite professors at York. His lectures are amazing and actually motivated me to come to his class. He is organized, well spoken and extremely intellectual. He also tells you exactly what he wants without any guessing games. If you work hard, take his class! It was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my academic career. Definitely one of the most caring professors in the whole university.

Professor Kenedy is the best professor I've had in my four years at York! He genuinely cares about his students and wants them to do well. His instructions are very clear and if you don't give him what he asks for you're obviously not going to get a good grade. He definitely prepares you for graduate school.

Take sociology with this professor!! His lectures are awesome and he's always ready to help students outside of class. You definitely have to work for your grades but he is super clear about what he wants in terms of assignments, and very clear and specific about what will be on the test.

Don't let first impressions scare you off. He's a tough grader and very serious but he's more relaxed than a first impression gives. Very knowledgeable and encouraging. Truly passionate about the subject matter and wants students to achieve. His feedback is blunt but helpful and isn't discouraging.

He can be pretty intimidating and this is most definitely not a bird course, but if you are serious about putting in the time and effort, you can learn a lot. Professor, Robert Kenedy is a great Professor. If you actually feel like learning and being knowledgable about the real world then take this class. Be prepared to work hard, write a lot and consume a lot of time. HOWEVER, I have learned the most out of any other course that I have taken in my four years. YOU actually learn about essential issues.
