It's a tough class, but if you take notes on his lecture and briefly skim the book, you'll do well. Plus, it helps that he makes a handout book which most of his lectures and tests are based on.

Dr. Kosinski is the best professor I've ever had. He is a hilarious, engaging teacher who gives great metaphors and analogies to help you understand the material. Biology 1100 is a heavy course, but his lecture handout book teaches directly to the test and he aligns his lectures with lab material. The tests are unnecessarily difficult. Study hard!

Worthless tests, questions, and the corresponding available answers, are often worded in a manner to trick the user. Answers have been known to contradict those of high level courses. You're better off with Dittrich, at least that man has the sense to make exams that test the student's understanding of the material.

Dr. Kosinski is a wonderful professor! He is very passionate about biology and our success. He does a lot to help the students, including 2 review sessions per week. He is lab coordinator, so lab material is on every test. There are 5 tests, including the final (which isn't cumulative). Reading the textbook is a must! I am taking from him again!

I took Dr. Kosinski's honors classes (both BIOL 1100 and 1110) as a Bioengineering major. Dr. Kosinski is very knowledgeable, quirky, and kinda fun. His class is not easy, but it is not impossible. He makes you learn the material, but also remember that an A for him is 85-100. Dr. K is very fair and helpful and challenges you to be your best.

Kosinski is probably the best professors I've ever had - the class is really interesting, and he makes it fun and memorable. The tests are difficult, and studying to get an okay grade takes a week or more of solid work every day, but to get a good grade, you need to work every single day with the lecture handout and the textbook.

Dr. Kosinski is a great example of a wonderful teacher, especially college professor. The course is hard, it's not just him. He knows what he's talking about and you can tell he's really into it. Dr. Kosinski is a wonderful teacher. He knows his stuff. His tests are challenging, so I'd recommend studying at least a week in advance. However, his lectures are very in depth and by the end of the semester you'll feel more confident in everything biology. Lab is perhaps the most time consuming part of the course bc of the quizzes and papers.

Took him for both semesters of biology. Definitely take Honors if at all possible. He is a fair grader when it comes to the Honors essays, but his non-honors multiple choice is relentless. May seem like he is talking down to you one on one, but he makes the content of the tests very clear and understandable in lectures.

Dr. K is a very interesting man. This class is certainly not an easy GPA booster, but if you are a bio major OR have to take upper level bio, Dr. K will prepare you. Attendance is not taken, but don't miss a single lecture. The man covers in an hour what most professors would cover in three. VERY dry sense of humor that you will grow to love.
