Dr. Lee was a great teacher. He is funny and his lectures are very interesting. The only thing that was rough about the class was there was ALOT of reading outside of the class with tests or essays after the readings. The lectures went with the midterm and final. Great teacher, though!
Dr. Lee's class isn't easy, but his humor and attractiveness makes it worht while. One day he was joking about trying to put his daughters bike together. He has a couple of papers with topics that come from the 3 extra books you have to read. That was time consuming. Other than that, not bad!
I really enjoyed his lectures. History is not my major, but he teaches it so well. In Am. Civ. you only have to read 2-3 books.
Dr. Lee is a very interesting and engaging teacher. If you don't like to read or take notes, you won't do good in the class or probably even in college. His lectures are so good that you won't even believe how fast the time flies by.
I looked forward to his class everyday. History isn't my cup of tea but he made it very easy to remember. I didn't take notes or study, I didn't even read the books and I earned a B. That goes to show how awesome of a teacher he really is!
I loved Dr.Lee's class. His lectures were so fun and he is VERY easy on the eyes. I did not enjoy reading books outside of class but I did look forward to his class.
Adoreable! Take this class.
I took his class first semster I was there. I thought it would be easy but it wasn't, to a point. I liked the class and he is a great professor.
Dr. Lee is an AMAZING teacher. I am not a history major but I loved his class. I learned more in one semester than I did all through high school. There are books to read and papers to write, but that's college for you. I really looked forward to his lectures. The man knows his stuff. And he's hot. AND and he's writing a book (nonfiction)!
I think he is without a doubt one of the best teachers at this school. I think it is cool how he relates everything and breaks it all down to layman's terms for the class. A lot of the other teachers seem like they teach straight out of the book and that is very annoying. Lee doesn't do that, and that is cool. He is one of my favorite professors.
Dr. Lee was a great teacher. I had him a few years ago at Meramec. His class was kinda hard but I did get an A. Even though it was hard, it was worth coming to class because Dr. Lee's pretty attractive.
He is a great professor. He has a great sense of humor and it was fun being in his class. He knows his stuff alright. Just be in class, take the notes, enjoy his lecture and HOTNESS LOL, and read the books! Tests are okay, just read and write your essays!! =)
could dr. lee be any hotter? i am so glad that I am taking his class! he is so dreamy...
Excellent. His sense of humor keeps the class interesting even if you dislike history. Do the readings, take good notes, and don't miss class or you'll miss something important. If you make the effort to understand the material you should be fine. If you have trouble go see him. He's more than willing to help any student who's willing to learn.
Awesome teacher! I loved his class. I was really surpised with how much he got me interested in history.
I hated this man's telecourse! it was such a waste of my time and his expectations were completely unrealistic for midterms and finals. i would advise not to take his telecourse or any telecourse at all.
me and my friend both took this class..knowing that we hated history, but he made it so interseting. Its not hard to pay attention because he makes it exciting, but make sure you read the books because ur grade depends on it. We loved the lectures but never read so we did ok, but its easy to get a good grade if u just read and pay attention.
he was easy in essay but his question test was hard, by the way he was good teacher but need to slow down so student can take good nots.
Great can get anyone interested in history. knows his stuff!
Dr. Lee is awesome! I hated history before this class. He makes history so interesing that I want to take every class he teaches. He talks about ideas and people, not dates. He teaches things you have never heard of before. History is fascinating to me now and I may even become a history major! Run to take this class with this hottie!
I've been following Dr. Lee around the History department for my two years at Meramec. I took American History I and II with Dr. Lee as well as his fascinating Fiction in History course. Dr. Lee tells a great story and doesn't care too much about dates. Take good notes! He's open-minded, fair, entertaining and CUTE! 8am class? No problem!
A brilliant teacher, Professor Lee is incredible at conveying information while making history interesting. He has a great personality and is extremely accessible. He seems to genuinely care about the education of his students. He doesn't use a textbook, but instead uses context books which better clarifies the material. Highly recommended.
Dr. Lee is extremely knowledgeable and makes history exciting and easy.
A history professor that knows his stuff. Not only does he know his stuff but he is hot stuff. Read your books and take good notes. He's a great professor.
lecture based class, textbook not necessary but there will be assigned books to read and be tested on, very enjoyable class if you are into history.
Best history teacher I have ever had. He is a tad full of him self, but hey when your as good as he is, it is unavoidable. Take his class. I liked history brfore I took his class, and appreciated it a lot more afterwards.
Dr. Lee is a great professor. His lectures are EXTREMELY intersting and worth attending. After a certain point, he no longer uses the book, but rather uses his own personal knowledge--Great Idea! He is so approachable both in class and out of class. Sometimes I see him at the coffee place where he works and he always is friendly. I love him.
he's a cutie pie!!
great teacher!! if you are interested in history, and you like lectures (trust me, his are not boring at all), then take professor lee. he might be my favorite at the campus.
Oh my gosh. I can't keep my eyes off of him. Talk about hot. Take his class for many reasons but mostly to dream. Dr. MrDreamy, move over.
Excellent professor all the way around. Class was always interesting yet challanging at test time. You just have to learn to keep up with his pace while note taking. I never missed a class. May I also add he's super easy on the eyes. :0)
I think he's awesome! I like how you get to hear the REAL story, not some watered-down textbook version. He's also quite a hottie and totally HOT when he has that unshaven look. I can hardly pay attention to what he's saying!! I think Ill major in History...:)
What an amazing teacher. You learn so much that teachers never taught you in previous History classes. His lectures are informative and you can't help but pay attention because he is so cute. You have to read the books he assigns if you expect a good grade in his class.
It was really an engaging class. It was a Capstone class. I succeeded in this class when it really counted. When you need help, he doesn't hesitate to give you a helping hand. He also is kind of dreamy like the others have said. It gave me something to look forward to when the class was early in the morning.
Wow. Brilliant, fun, and gorgeous. What more can i say?
Amazing, energetic, well-informed, funny, and enthusiastic. Never condescending and always willing to answer questions. Fast-paced but perfect for the short attention spans we have today. I wish he taught every subject. And, yeah - it's true - he's not bad on the eyes either.
Awesome teacher. Very informational and VERY enthusiastic! You can bet I'll be taking this class next semester - I'm already registered!!!!
I had him for another class and loved him, just not for history. TO much to read and his tests are hard. Questions on test seem unfair with the true/false part. If you don't study your but off you will fail. Otherwise he makes history fun and no memorization of dates
The class is not the easiest class but Dr. Lee takes the time to make sure the point is crystal clear, He is a great teacher and is willing to help with in and out of class problems. Plus hes not bad to stare at for an hour or so.
He loves history!!! If history is not your thing he is the prof. to take, he makes it fun and interesting!
His test are so difficult, and his lecture is also difficult to understand. he did not care about any student, just do his work. I would not recommend this professor for history if you want to get an B or higher in hist
Dr. Lee uses an interesting approach to lecture based learning. His tests can be difficult, but Dr. Lee prepares students well. I had never had a class in American History before and not only did I get an A but also received Honors credit via an Honors Contract and am now considering becoming a history major!
Dr. Lee is really cool. He makes history very interesting. There's a lot of reading for the class, but the books are interesting and read more like novels than non-fictional books. Lecture slides are useless, but it makes you pay attention to what he's saying, so you learn more anyway. Tests aren't hard if you study and pay attention in class.
Dr. Lee is one of the best history professors I've ever had! He keeps you interested! He makes the storis come to life. Plus, ladies, he's pretty cute!
Awsome Dude...
Does not use a textbook. You have to write down good notes from his lectures. If you miss a class, you are in big trouble. Good lecturer but does not provide any study guides or aids to help study. He does not use the Blackboard System at all.
okay.. so if u wanna read freaking five books in a short semester go ahead and take his class! his tests are super easy as long as u pay attention in the class (be there) and read those five books! so yah.. dont miss a book exam coz if u do.. tht will affect a whole LETTER GRADE!! other than tht he is pretty cute and an easy teacher :)
He only lectures and you will be kind of lost if you miss a class but he doesnt have an attendence policy. Several small books to read and most you only need to read certain sections. Class can be boring but he is charming, funny, and crazy hot so that helps.
Enjoy Prof. Lee letcure. His test are hard.
Best teacher at Meramec!
Dr. Lee's class was great. The tests are 100% from lectures, there is no textbook. He doesn't care if you come to class or not, but if you don't good luck on the test.
You can tell he is passionate about his subject...very intersting lectures...don't miss a class though, you will not do very well on his tests
He does have an odd lecture style, but you get used to it. His PowerPoint is like the index of the lesson. You have to listen to the lecture and guess what is important. TAKE A LOT OF NOTES. He does review before the test and will answer any questions you need cleared up. The books are boring, but the quizzes are easy and his lectures are fun
My favorite teacher at Meramec! The books are boring, but he's clearly passionate about the subject and he makes it really interesting.
He is AMAZING! Best teacher I ever had at Meramec. He was recommended to be by my ex and glad I took it. Knows his material and very easy to talk to. If I had more time I would have taken more of his classes. He gives you hints for essay questions and study his old tests for the final and you should get a good grade.
I recommend this professor for history!
i took his class 2 years ago and it was a pretty interesting class. His class is not easy because you do need to come to class and listen to his lecture to do well. the books are boring and yes he is hot ;)
Excellent professor! Dr. Lee isn't just a history professor, he's the combination of historian and storyteller. He's passionate about the subject and it shows. I really enjoyed taking his course and if I could, I would take HST 102. You can't go wrong with taking one of his courses, this guy's hilarious, intelligent, and gorgeous! Take his course!
Before this class, I wasn't all that interested in American History. Dr. Lee's lectures are way more interesting than what you learned in grade/middle/high school. If you are able to, I definitely recommend taking one of his courses. He's a great teacher.
Amazing. I go to a 4-year university, but ironically, I've learned the most taking summer classes here. He engages his students during lectures through teaching ideas, and cause and effect, rather than dates and mundane fact. Every college student should take this class to better understand and appreciate US history.
I took the online class and the tests are really hard with unclear questions that you can't find in the book.
When I signed up for History, I was dreading it. I was only planning to take the class to get my Missouri requirement out of the way, but after taking his class, I plan on taking more! His lectures were not only captivating, but he is hilarious as well. He doesn't pay attention to dates and mundane detail. I loved his class!
AMAZING PROFESSOR. I took his evolution class last spring because it fit my time slot. Once I was in there, I was hooked! This guy is super chill and extremely funny. He understands that stuff happens and as long as you talk to him and do the work you are golden! You can tell he loves teaching. Best history class ever!
amazing
Amazing professor. Everytime i take a history class here i always have to have him as my teacher. He loves history and tells in a way you will understand. Tests are hard, but as long as you study and come to class you will be fine. I highly recommend him.
GREAT GUY!! If I have to take any other history class he would be must have professor. You are truly lucky to get him, he is very interesting and knows what he is talking about. Tests are the only grade, so that kind of hurt me but other than that I ENJOY going to his class!! MUST GIVE HIM A SHOT!!!
He is a great teacher! He is very easy to listen to, he tells you history like a story very cool teacher.
Easy on the eyes is right! But above that he is a truly great professor! He makes history like listening to a story told by a great story teller!! I would recomend this class to EVERYONE! I was dreading this history class and i turned out to be VERY surprised how much i enjoyed it!
Took his online american history course and it was VERY difficult. My friend took his on campus class at the same time and did really well though. The only grades are weekly tests covering 2-3 chapters. My friend looked at one of my tests and said it was identical to hers and based SOLELY on his lectures while the online class only has the book
Class was very interesting. I actually looked forward to going to it.
Online delivery and assistance is weak. Not helpful when asked questions.
Online instruction is poor. extremely unhelpful.
Literally the best professor I've ever had. I didn't miss one class because he mad it FUN to learn about his topics. Absolutely recommend!!! You won't regret it!
Great Professor to have, Keeps every lecture interesting. makes a point of students being mentally present in the room. He works hard to make it interesting in his class and wants his students to be just as interested as he is. As far as history goes he cares more for timeline than dates, that is he wants students to know order of events.
I love history and having a professor who is actually engaging and loved what he was talking about was awesome! If I could take this class again I would! If you go to class and read the books which were all very good, then you will pass without a doubt.
Online course was weak and confusing. I learned virtually nothing.
Great Teacher! made History interesting and didn't waste time with exact dates. Your grade is based off of 4 tests so there isn't much room for mistake but he is a great teacher. And really handsome!
I wouldn't rate a class unless I thought it should be known how either great or terrible it is. This class was AWESOME. So enthusiastic! I learned a lot and enjoyed it! I havent seen helpful reviews for online though, so be sure to take his class, in class!
Dr.Lee's U.S. In the 20th Century is a fun class that I would recommend to anyone. The "textbooks" are actual books he has you read and then you take a test on the book. Other than that it's all lecture for the midterm and final. Great class, I always felt interested and he kept me awake which was big because I had him in the early morning.
This class is all lecture; he doesn't post anything to Bb, so you must attend. There are 4 books with an exam for each. We don't talk about the books AT ALL in class...those are all on you. Midterm and final are ONLY over lecture notes. But he's an awesome lecturer. If you're having trouble, he's so approachable, helpful, kind, & concise.
Do not take this class online. You're completely on your own with no assistance from the professor. This was a complete waste of the semester.
awesome lectures! I truly enjoyed attending his class. must read 4 short and easy books! Offers extra credit on midterm and finals. DO NOT BE LATE! DO NOT TEXT!
Can we start with the fact he is the sexiest history teacher I've ever had? But in all seriousness, I am a History Education: Secondary Major, which means that im in school to be a high school history teacher. He has confirmed for me that i made the right career move that I'll love forever as he does. Take this class, you wont regret it.
Online leaves you completely on your own to interpret the text. I've seen amazing reviews about his in class lectures. It would be nice to experience those through the online class as well. Lots of reading and blindly trying to do the assignments to his standards.
Probably the best professor I'll have for all of undergrad. Lectures are really engaging and presented in an absorbing way. Textbooks are three books about certain time periods. As far as grades go, you have a test over each book as well as a midterm and final that are over lecture material- so be prepared to take a lot of notes! This class rules.
Lee is great at making his lectures interesting. Don't EVER be late or he won't let you in the classroom. Read ALL the novels, they aren't to hard to follow and he tests on each one and asks questions from almost ever chapter.
Prof. Lee is by far one of the greatest professor's I have had the pleasure of having. He tells you that his goal is to make you leave each class wanting to know what happens next - and he succeeds. He is hilarious, and genuinely cares as long as you care. His tests are fairly straight forward as long as you are willing to do the reading.
a lot of reading and online quizzes and papers, but worth it if you want an awesome prof!! He's such a good professor and his lectures are awesome and engaging!! always able to help but just don't be late!!!!! He will lock you out no problem!! kind of hard with the amount of work though, so if ur lazy, don't take him.
Professor Lee is a phenomenal professor. His lectures are interesting, and he is exceedingly knowledgeable in his field. History class was never something I enjoyed, until taking his class. I wouldn't describe his class as easy, but he is fair and an excellent educator. Take this professor if you can!!!
Dr. Lee is the best teacher I've ever had I always looked forward to his class. His lectures are not boring at all he makes history really interesting and he's always willing to help you if you're having trouble. Also he's really hot
The saddest part of education is teachers who do not share their wealth of knowledge. I begged Dr. Lee for advice on how to better study or what I was doing wrong and got nothing. Assigning a textbook & videos to watch is not teaching. He seems to have a passion for history but doesn't bother to share it with his students. Would never take again.
Grade is composed of a few book test which you must read, a midterm & a final exam. Lectures are long but interesting. Lee has a clear passion for history & teaching. Plus he makes dad jokes & laughs at himself which is my favorite. His test are somewhat contradictory. Not an easy A class.
This class requires A LOT of reading. There is 4 novels to read, you read them and you will do fine- the questions are very specific so when you read make sure you actually read in debt. There is a midterm and final so take really good notes. OH AND DO NOT BE LATE.. If you are 1 min late he will NOT let you in. Oh and NO cellphones- kick you out
He had clear outlines on PowerPoint, so it was easy to follow along. He also assigned 4 books to read throughout the semester, and each one had a test. He did not discuss the books during class, though, and if you missed a test, you had to take a cumulative test on all four books during finals week. It's essential to take good notes during class.
We had to write an essay every 3-4 weeks. Even though there was spring break, he still counted that as a week of school. He gives you a syllabus at the beginning of class, but doesn't really follow when the assignments are due. He moved up the date a lot on all the assignments.
Follow up; Lee lectures then writes test rather than lecturing over the test material. Highly frustrating when I take a final that doesn't even mention highly important things such as the alien or sedation acts, articles of confederation, Annapolis, MO compromise, Summers Speach but talks about Tocqueville & FF's 5 times each... Not cool.
Professor Lee was on of the best teachers I have ever had. His lectures were very captivating and he did a great job of making history easy to understand. Yeah, we did have to read four books throughout the course of the semester but if you don't wait till the last minute to read them then you'll easily pass. I definitely recommended him.
Take HST101 rather than 102 unless you find the political pit of the 21st century interesting. Final exam was chalked full of political question from Nixon to Bush. Hardly discussed FDR or Trueman. WW2 apparently isn't US history. Over It. UNORGANIZED FINAL LAYOUT LEE. Do better. Pick relevant books. Ask questions on what you lecture.
Dr. Lee has a clear passion for history yet his style of teaching is very peculiar. The information is given & then he walks away. I would never feel comfortable going to him for help, maybe that is due to the lecture environment leaving little room for relations? Intriguing lectures, mediocre books and disorganized tests with poor questions. Sigh.
this professor is boring
Dr Lee is very passionate about history, and he extends that to you, which is great. You'll definitely learn a lot from his class (I took HST101 ). You do have to read two books out of class because there are tests on them, and check the syllabus because he doesn't warn you about them. BE ON TIME, if you're a minute late he won't let you into class
Dr. Lee is super nice and he gives amazing lectures! At first he will sound rude, but he is the exact opposite. He knows exactly what he is talking about, and how to explain content. Get ready to read! The tests are mostly book based, and that's basically what your grade consists of! I highly recommend taking History or any class with Dr. Lee!
If you're a woman he's basically going to ignore you or talk down to you when you ask a questions. He is as arrogant and sexist as profs come. On of that his lectures are disorganized and he doesn't even test over his own lecture material. Most of the time seems like he'd rather be doing something else. Should have taken a different class!
By far my favorite professor. His lectures are very easy to understand and he can make even the most dull parts of history interesting.
Took his 8 week History class. He really makes history interesting in his lectures. Did not like reading certain books in his class, they were very boring. But overall, good professor.
Took his US History After Civil War class online- Lots of reading textbook and novels. Several papers, fairly easy grader. Flexible online format, but really had to do certain amount of weekly work. Didn't interact much with him, seems like he didn't spend much time with it as an online class.
I took his online History 102 class and it was pretty easy except for the book exams. The homework was a nice cushion for grading but the exams brought my grades down a letter grade. There was a decent amount of work and was easy for the most part.
Took post civil war - present & class: I received little intellectually from class, but it was easy, minus book exams. Book exam questions are subjective. Weekly work completion is required, but no set day for deadlines, minus assigned papers that dates are giving first day of class. If you have questions though don't expect much for a response.
Professor Lee is a very intelligent person. He will explain everything you need to know, in a way you can actually understand. He is available for help if you are struggling and will help you learn what you don't quite get.
Dr. Lee is an amazing professor! He makes the more boring parts of history interesting and his lectures are great. This is definitely a class you need to read the book and study. The books he wants to be read are boring, but as long as you get through them the essays are easy
This is the second course I have taken. I hate lectures, but I much rather enjoyed his class. He is a passionate teacher and is well spoken. I am now taking an online course. Three chapters books, inquisitive questions, and 4 other assignments. Very easy, if you do not procrastinate! Some of the chapters books are also on amazon audible!
Didn't really seem to care much for students in his online class. Pretty much just put up all the assignments at the beginning of the semester and said if we needed help to contact the school about it. If you don't mind doing a lot of essays and reading a lot this is the class for you.
Probably one of my fav professors, he is so sweet and funny. He doesn't post anything on BB. You have to take notes on his lectures and you have to read 3 books throughout the semester, there will be questions over them on the exam. If you show up and pay attention during the lecture you will easily pass!
He barely had any interaction with students, he just posted everything on blackboard and let us do the rest.
The lectures were enjoyable!
* Horrible Attitude * Very Controlling ** Bars paying students from entering class if they're a minute (or less) late. * Great lectures * No phone or he'll stop lecturing until you put it away. * Easy Quizzes ** A Chairman of STLCC has said this policy is fair and they support it. Don't take History with Robert Lee unless you're forced to.
His lectures are great, but his attitude is not. If you are even a second late, he will not let you in the room and won't allow any phones whatsoever. The grades are 100% tests, and a lot of the questions are super confusing. He also doesn't seem to care about the individual people or make any attempt at getting to know us.
Vague and dense assignments and expects lengthy answers to them. Had to watch 2 hours of videos for a discussion board. Links and article about bad history teachers and then becomes one of them!
i absolutely love professor lee ! he was absolutely straight forward making lectures easy to listen to but also understand the information. his jokes thru out class help make class fun and holesome ! my life my soul my rock all for robert leee
Show up to class on time, don't be on your phone. If you follow those two simple rules, his class should be very enjoyable and engaging.
Dr. Lee was a great professor! I loved his history 101 class. You can tell he is very knowledgeable and cares a lot about what he is teaching. He has like two rules that he is pretty strict about but they aren't unreasonable so as long as you take notes and pay attention you will do well!
Professor Lee makes even the dullest history topics engaging. While the readings can be dense, his lectures and Unstuck AI-powered study tools like flashcards really help bring the material to life. Attend class, stay off your phone, and you'll do well.
