He is a wonderful teacher who is very knowledgable in Biology, he breaks down every concept in a way that everyone can understand it. He relates science to everyday life and has a good personality. You do need to study for his test.

Best biology class I have ever taken! He gives you a very specific list of outlines and if you go to class and study the outline you should have no problem. I have gotten A's on all of my tests and I made a C in high school biology.

TAKE HIM! the tests aren't the easiest, but he actually makes you learn the material by making everything really interesting and fun. he's a HUGE dork and talks alot about ways you can die! He's the best bio teacher at AU - definately.

this teacher is great. he gives you a study guide with objectives that tells you what is on the tests. all you have to do is take good notes and go to class and then just go over objectives for tests.

Dr. Lishak is the absolute best prof. He is clear and tells you exactly what to know. lots of pictures for those visual learners out there! Doesn't take role, but you probably wouldn't feel like missing anyway. Look out for his pink shirts and crazy, mad chalkboard skills.

This class is challenging. You must be prepared to study and know every detail, which can be frustrating since we are non-biology majors. However Dr. Lishak tends to make class interesting with his stories. He is a little crazy when it comes to rules but is a good instructor overall.

If you're good at science, then take him. He's very funny and you will learn a lot. If you're NOT good at science (like me), don't take him. His tests are very confusing. You'll enjoy going to class because he gives out great information, but the tests will drop your grade. I made a C...bummer

GREAT teacher! You have to work for you grade though. Study your notes, know them backwards and forwards. You don't really need the book. The class is fun, you'll learn a lot. Lishak is funny and interesting!

Lishak's tests are super hard if you do not prepare for them in the way he tells you to. His lectures are interesting, though. He also gives random bonus quizzes. Usually, he only does that on a Friday when NO ONE comes to class - like me. But I recommend him if you're looking to take a bio class. He made me learn how to study.

he is impossible if you don't study. But you can make and A or B fairly easily if you come to class and study for the tests. Gives up to 3% bonus on your final grade for attendance.

Hilarious guy- I definitely recommend him as a professor. He tells crazy stories that have to do with the subject at hand that REALLY help with learning the material. His tests aren't hard, but they aren't easy. Good professor.

Study! Even if u kno the material, u will be happy to get a B in the class. Lots of notes and material. Test questions are purposely tricking and confusing. FUNNY GUY!! Tells funny stories to help with material. Always starts on time and goes at least 2 minutes over his time. Get the U-Notes early and u should do good. Study hard and often.

If you are teaching his medical "FACTS" to people then you are a moron! This guy wishes he was a doctor instead of a teacher, but it is pretty obvious why he isnt since he gives incorrect medical advise/info all the time. I had him for my 2nd Biol. w/ a lab. He has alot of interesting facts and you actually learn something whether you like science or not. Definately take him if you get the chance. Tests are not the easiest but if you study your notes inside and out, you will do great. I never read the book and I made an A.

This man is one of the cutest people I have ever seen! He really knows his subject and makes pretty hard stuff seem alot easier. There's no busy work at all, and he hardly uses the book, but you better come to class or you'll fail. Sometimes he goes off on odd stories but my friends and I got a huge kick out of writing down his wacky quotes.

Ever wonder why your head hurts after a night of drinking? When I took this man's class over 6 years ago he used the same question to start an hour long lecture on how the lymphatic system works... as well as tons of information about hormones and pituitary glands... I still remember this stuff because he made it relevant to the students.

lishaks class is the first science class that i have ever somewhat liked. he makes it interesting because he is so excited about what he teaches, and does not go slowly. hes funny too. he makes it EXTREMELY RELEVANT which keeps you awake. however, you HAVE to study. do not take lishak if you want an easy A, or even an easy B.

He was a very good teacher. By no means easy but a good teacher. I went to class everyday, paid attention, went all the labs and made out with a C. The first test i made a C on and studied for about 5 hours. He does make the class interesting and relevant to College students and i enjoyed the lectures because i will never forget them

Way too hard for a 1000 level course, seriously. Not to mention 1010 is for non majors, and he has the gaul to teach two full books. I stopped going to class after the first test and pulled out a D, only going on test days. The depth and volume of what he covers is not needed.

Dr. Lishak was one of the main reasons I became a teacher. He loves his stuff and I remember him going blisteringly fast on the board writing something about squirrel behavior or bird navigation and I loved it. I wanted an A so bad I wrote a 3 page typed letter about a grade I got on a test and slid it under his door. Somehow, I got an A. Great

I enjoyed Dr. Lishak's class. His test questions come from what he covers in is lectures, so attending lectures is a good idea if you want to pass the class. He writes down most of what you need to know on the board, so you dont have to stress about taking your own notes. He told many amusing stories and made me interested in Biology.

I absolutely loved Dr. Lishak! I had him for Bio 1000 and 1010 and made an A in both. As long as you study the objectives and drawings and make note cards you will make at least a B on every test. You just have to put the time into studying the material because there is so much for each test! TAKE HIM, mainly because he makes it interesting!

Lishak is great! Easy A. As long as you attend class and pay attention you will have no problem, not to mention he's funny. Exams are a breeze with a small review session. Sadly, lots of people fail because they are above attending his lectures, when thats really all you have to do to succeed.

This guy is easily my favorite teacher ever. There's a good bit of material, but one thing he does that no other teacher does is have you draw pictures on the material so you can't help but understand. He gives tests based on his lectures, I never opened the book and I pulled off an A by looking over my notes. Go to class! He has a bonus point system where he will call out everyones name and ask them easy questions that he will help you answer for a total of ten bonus points, it really pays off. Plus he is somewhat humerous and a good person.

His tests are incredibly hard, but as long as you study the way he tells you to, you'll do fine. He is very nice and willing to help, so take advantage of his office hours as much as possible especially before and after the test - he'll tell you everything you got wrong and how to fix it. Attendance is optional, but go as much as possible.

I ADORE Lishak. He is probably my all-time favorite teacher since he tells stories to make things relatable and gives you tips on how to make everything easier to remember. I don't know why people are saying his tests are hard, he tells you exactly how to study for them (you draw pictures). He talks pretty quickly though, I'd suggest recording him.

Dr. Lishak is by far my favorite teacher. He does an excellent job, and you truly learn what he's teaching. I recommend him to everyone - his class has been a great experience. TAKE HIM!

Lishak is a great teacher. He really knows what he is talking about and you will learn a lot of cool stuff. Just beware, he writes on the white board in a LARGE classroom. It is hard to read, because he writes small and messy. His tests are also hard and specific. Otherwise, he's a great teacher.

Most amazing teacher I have had in any course and my major has NOTHING to do with Biology. I have learned more in his class than I probably will ever learn in another. I hate morning classes, but I never had trouble staying awake in his because he was so excited and taught so well. Tests are hard, but if you attend class, you can easily get an A!

Lishak is my favorite teacher at Auburn! If you go to class, he tells you exactly what will be on the test. I found his class to be much easier than Kearley's. He is very interesting and keeps you entertained. I learned so much from this class and would recommend anyone to take him!

I took him for Biology 1010 and 1020 because he was just that awesome. He doesn't use the book at all. All the test are off his lectures. His lectures are very interesting and he keeps your attention the whole class. He has great stories and will answer any question you throw at him; whether it's class related or personal. As long as you attend the lectures and write down everything he tells you to write down then you can easily pass the class with an A or B. Best professor at Auburn!!!!

Great professor. Lectures are very interesting, he knows what he is taking about, and I am very confident in his knowledge of the subject matter. Tests come straight from lectures. Study notes (especially pictures) thoroughly and you will have no problem at all!

Lecture only on test. Dont buy the book. Makes the class harder than it needs to be, but a very good teacher. All of his notes are hand written during class on the chalk board which is hard to read. He needs to get with the times and put his notes on blackboard.

Dr. Lishak was an excellent biology professor. I loved his teaching style and related the class lectures to everyday situations. Made lecture both entertaining and useful. Very funny and helpful if you do your part to get help. If I could take Lishak again, I definitely would! Attendance isn't mandatory, but highly recommended for a good grade.

I found this class to be EXTREMELY HARD! No slides all notes are straight from the board and your entire grade is based off just tests. So no fluff points. Test are very hard and you could study for weeks and still do poor. I would never take him again!

Great professor! Very easy, gives good examples. Lecture notes are similar to exam. Very friendly man. DON'T FORGET YOUR ID FOR EXAMS! Can't wait to have him for 1010.

Dr. Lishak is such a great professor! He draws a lot which was extremely helpful for me since I'm a visual learner. He also gives modern day examples that are applicable to the lesson. His love of science is very prominent which makes the class enjoyable. You don't have to go to class but I suggest it. Tests aren't too hard if you study the notes.

AMAZING professor! Attendance isn't mandatory, but class is actually really enjoyable. You never really use the book. He draws a lot and uses his own diagrams on the test, so you don't have to worry about seeing unfamiliar diagrams. He's super nice and really makes bio interesting by telling a bunch of stories. GREAT Teacher. Go to class, thats the only way you'll have notes. Class is intriguing, and he will help you in any way he can. Make sure you study your notes (literally memorize) everything for the test, and you're golden.

Dr. Lishak is by far my favorite professor. If you go to his office hours, he will help you! Go to class and write EVERYTHING he puts on the board, memorize everything, and you should be alright! He gives extra credit and makes the class interesting! He is such a sweet man!

Attendance is not mandatory, but he's interesting and the tests come DIRECTLY from the notes. He did offer bonus quizzes if you attended class. Textbook was never used and is more confusing than his lectures, I wouldn't recommend buying it.

Lishak is crazy. In a mostly good way. He's really intelligent, funny, and practical, but YOU MUST ATTEND EVERY CLASS. The tests come straight from the lecture (no textbook needed) and so missing even a couple classes can be disastrous. As long as you pay attention and do exactly what he tells you as far as notes and studying, you'll be fine.

Take him! very helpful, keeps lectures pretty interesting and relatable. TONS of memorizing the notes word for word and LOTS of pictures. the tests are pretty straight forward if you study hard. Definitley a class to study and put effort towards, but if you do that then it is pretty easy to do well!

I never thought I would be interested in biology until I took Dr. Lishak's course. He makes the information interesting, and he explains how each concept applies outside of the classroom. His class was one of the most educational courses I have taken in my college career. Take his course, you will not regret it.

Very fun class. Tests are directly from notes. He did not excuse my lab absence for going to a funeral, so that was the only drawback to him. Very disappointed with that. Overall, enjoyable class.

During my three years at Auburn University, I have had many professors, but NONE of them compare to Dr. Lishak. Not only is he very well versed in his subject of lecture, but he is also kind and puts student's at ease. He is my favorite professor. Go to his office hours, he quizzed me before tests. I was so worried about this class at the beginning of the semester, being in Liberal Arts, but I LOVED his class. Everything you need to know for the test is in his notes, so don't bother buying the book, but GO TO CLASS!! The difference in grades between missing one class and going to every class is HUGE. You'll learn a ton!

He teaches on pretty interesting subjects. Be prepared to write NON-STOP from the time class starts until the last minute of class. He writes ALOT of notes. He almost never lets out early. His tests are ridiculously hard. He's ridiculous about test days, make ups, & notes.

Lishak is an extremely intelligent professor who is passionate about science. His tests are HARD, though. I worked very hard and barely came out with a B in the course. Doesn't take attendance but you need to go to class because nothing is online. All notes are from his head and he does not use canvas. Tough teacher, but I learned a lot.

Dr. Lisak was a tough but class but if you simply study as he tells you to and tries then there is no reason you should not make an a or b. His lectures are fun to listen to and is not boring. I personally enjoyed his lectures. I would definitely take his class again.

He gives you a detailed syllabus that is LITERALLY a contract for what he is allowed to put on the test. To get an A: print syllabus with blank spaces in-between each question and fill out the answers (2-3 times, 1 time morning of test). I got an A on every test doing it this way. Then you can see what you do and do not know. Loved his class!

Dr. Lishak is so nice and such a great teacher! I feel like I truly learned the material. He gives learning objectives for every lecture, so you know exactly what is on the test. If you come to class and pay attention, you should be able to make an A.

I took Dr. Lishak for both of my science sequence credits sophomore year, and he was awesome. He gives you an outline for the entire semester on the very first day of classes with objectives that will be on each test. He writes EVERYTHING on the board. If you take notes with him and then use the outline to study for test, you literally cannot fail.

I found Dr. Lishak's class to be quite easy, actually. Not easy as in skippable, but easy in a way that it isn't a task to learn. It's actually fun. If you skip class, you most likely won't pass because he doesn't post the notes anywhere and a lot of material is covered in each class.
