This guy is so confusing. Most the time when you ask him a question, when he is trying to explain, he will confuse himself. He tries to make the class fun, but he is not a good teacher. I didnt even listen in class, most the time i would go over the chapter by myself to learn the material. His tests are easy as long as you can teach yourself.

very hard!!!! Makes many mistakes on the board, in class, on test and in quizes. If you don't understand something he yells at you doesn't review for a test will not tell you what to study for a test. Does not care if youare in class every day and trying your hardest does not matter. Makes you feel very stupid. Do not take this class

As if I math didn't scare me already? Sitting in this man's class for the few weeks that I did left some deep emotional scars! I've learned that I teach myself better than a professor like Lowry would in the classroom. If you had a choice between him and an online math course - take math online.

He's a nice enough guy, but completely clueless when it comes to his own subject. I am an Honors student and I had to withdraw from his class because I was failing every test. I am not the only one to do this. He frequently makes mistakes on the board. Students have to constantly correct him. Do not take his class if you want to get a decent grade.

Complete twit. There is something to be said about not coddling students. Another if the professor is adversarial when asked questions NOT in the photo-copied pages of a different textbook (his "notes"). Dismisses lateral thinking, then has to correct himself days later (after ideas are no longer relevant). Just don't take him.

Probably the worst professor Ive ever had. His class is horrible, he is never clear on his work, refuses to clarify what he is saying and when he teaches he only confuses people. Refuses to do review even on his office hours. Do yourself a favor and DON'T PICK HIM, you will regret it. I hated going to his classes everyday.

Don't take him if you don't have too. Never can ask him a question because he makes you feel stupid. Plus he can't grade a test. He just doesn't care about his students.

Lowry needs to understand the class is called FUNDAMENTALS OF PRE-CALC. Instead of teaching you the FUNDAMENTALS, he teaches you multiple advanced techniques, with stipulations to every technique to try to solve a particular problem. Come study time you are left confused, and he will not help you. He asks you, "What do you think you should do?" WOW

If you take this class with this teacher, you better have an impressive background in mathematics beforehand. He does not use the text, his notes do not reflect the handouts he gives, and the tests do not reflect anything that you have learned up to that point. This is school, we students need to be taught, not bamboozled. Do not take his class!!!!

I've always been amazing at math, till I got into his Calc class. Now I'm FAILING. He's the WORST math teacher I've EVER had. I'm having to withdraw so that his lack of teaching skills does not mess up my transcripts. DO NOT TAKE HIM!

his test are very difficult. he does not test the concepts. the questions range from meduim to hard. he talks into the board and is super fast going through things. this class is nauseating

He doesnt teach from the textbook AT ALL! If your ready to teach yourself take this class. I went to every extra help and he told me the MLC was horrible and not to go there! He has no sympathy for people trying their hardest! DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER WHATEVER YOU DOO!!!

He's a really bad professor. His teaching skills are very unorganized, he doesnt care if you get math or not. He assigns tons of homework but never goes over it. I feel bad, if you have him. but good luck!

Horrible. Asking questions was useless because he did not know how to answer them clearly.Prior knowledge of pre calc did not help either, I did well in pre calc in HS, but he would go so in depth on things or would go on math rants that would not be on the tests. Avoid at all costs.

Literally hardest teacher ever. The way he teaches is so complex it's not even funny. Once the class starts he will continue to talk and talk and talk and yep you guess it... TALK for a hour. What ever class you take with him pretty much will be confusing. I you get this guy.. good luck. Oh and If you suck at math.... yeah you're screwed lol

Dont even bother trying to email him because HE DOES NOT ANSWER. he is nonstop talking in class yet all he does is talk in letters and numbers. If you want a definition for something he will give it to you in letter and number form. He constantly giggles at nothing because he is not funny either. If you walk in late be prepared for embarrassment.

He doesnt really care if youre there or not. if you struggle in math i highly recommend you don't take him. he didn't put effort into making his writing clear even after being told. I took him for online and it was pretty rough. The homeworks took me hours but it did help me get better at math only because it required so much self study

Online class w/ slides. Fast-paced. Lots of hw ie: Chap.7 had 97 problems. Prof. needed to purchase a stylus pen to properly teach but didn't get one. 4 tests given w/ lowest dropped & replaced w/hw score. If you fail the 1st/2nd exam drop class asap--he will not approve any withdrawals. Dry sense of humor. Exams can be taken 2x in 1 setting.

I took Professor Lowry for calculus 1. I thought I was going to do well in the course considering I took calculus in high school, but boy was I wrong. He seems as though he does not care if you do well and sets the students up for failure. The class average on the exams were about a 60. I would recommend to stay clear of his classes if you can.

Class is graded on 4 tests, drops the lowest. Everyone failed the first and we took the next 2 as a class because nobody knew what this man was saying. Seeking for help, he directed me to the math learning center. They were just as confused as I was to what he was teaching. He doesnt care, absolutely mean to certain students. Worst prof I ever had

he isn't a bad person, not rude, but perhaps oblivious to how god awful his teaching skills are. He throws stuff on the board and expects you to understand immediately, your best friend will be the learning center and YouTube. Avoid him but if you have to NO extra credit or homework that will help boost your grade.

Teaches in purely mathematical language. you essentially need to memorize the textbook just to barely pass his class. 3 tests and a final, all are incredibly hard and worded to trick you. This is a perfect example of a corrupt administration, this professor should not be allowed to teach. This will be a GPA killer class.

Focuses far too much on conceptual definitions and proofs and never actually teaches how to apply anything to problems. Tests often involve things not taught in class. Does not like answering questions during lectures.

horrible! basically makes you teach yourself with the material. audacity to give an exam without even teaching real math. just no. like he only gives 1 example in his lecture which is given by the projection on the screen. everything is just a definition, he doesn't show you how to do anything!!!!!!!

I took this class over the summer he is nice. I feel like he doesn't teach the best because his lectures focus more on definitions and letters than solving equations. If you struggle with math, you are better off picking a different professor. I ended off teaching myself the material or going to the learning center.

With this professor you will have to teach yourself the subject. He just talks and talks and talks very fast and doesn't give time to process the information during class, you are just rushing to copy everything on the board before it's gone.

By far one of the worst professors i've had throughout my entire college career. Incredibly rude when you ask a question and is not willing to help. You're better off going to the tutoring center if you want to learn anything, I had to teach myself all of the material. Goes very fast and his notes are a mess.

Don't ever take him. He doesn't know anything about Calc2. He teaches you from his homemade notes and if you ask him any questions, he can't answer and he tells you to figure out from online.

Do NOT take him. You will be teaching yourself, or relying on classmates. Shows up late every class. Never takes attendance. I skipped half his classes and probably learned more from online sources than him. SELF AWARE OF HOW TERRIBLE HE IS. Says he needs to “uphold his reputation of the worst professor.”

You're better off teaching yourself the course than taking his class. Any question about his material would go unanswered or dismissed. Criticized outside work and made it an unbearable experience the entire semester. Do not take!
