Horrible professor. Never finishes the problems he starts. His 9's look like g's and he messes up doing problems on the board. Go to the math lab, your grade depends on it. Better yet take the class at PBCC.

LUBARSKY doesn't have the skills it takes to call himself a professor, maybe a teacher at a middle school- he cannot control a class, as well as explain himself clearly on algebra. His lectures are most of the time are on NOT TALKING, on regards to preparing the class for exams... NONE WHAT SO EVER.. TRUST ME ON THIS ONE

He doesn't explain anything and goes off on tangents while going over a problem. Never tells you the right answer and says everything is "your interpretation"

GET OUT OF THIS CLASS!! When I fist started the class there was at least 50 students, when it ended there were less than 10. No credit for HW, no extra help/credit for struggling students. I highly recommend dropping his class.

horrible! for non-math majors, this is NOT your professor. does not have any sympathy for struggling students and teaches around the subjects. nothing concrete is taught in his class. it's all concepts and ideas. the tests are the same. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR!

This is seriously not meant to teach people who don't live, breathe, fart math. His teaching: it's like knowing how a carburetor works with an engine but not knowing how to drive. His tests are practical but he doesn't teach the practical part. His thoughts on our grades: "Horrible", "worse than last time." Avoid this class like the plague.

First of all he cannot teach to save his life.all he does it talk in a sensative voice about life things and tries to relate it to math.his examples and notes do not contain numbers in it but in the test they do so its weird.plus if you ask him for help wiht a problem he explains it wiht a harder one and just confuses.DO NOT TAKE!!

There might as well be no teacher for this class. Lubarsky is useless. He CAN NOT TEACH! He spends more time showing you what is wrong than what is right. The only way to pass this class is to use your textbook and teach yourself everything. He gives no help and is very unclear on every subject. He teaches in a way only he understands.

He explained nothing, has no other grades but the tests which are 6 question open-ended questions and if you dont think the same way as him he wil give you a 0! not even partial credit given!

I thought i could handle him but i was DEAD WRONG. dont risk it, its not worth the GPA drop. He is unclear you, can see that he wants to help but all that comes out is penut talk. Even better is when he confuses himself.

The worst teacher I have ever had in my entire life. I am a junior and I've taken 3000 level classes so believe me when I tell you that as hard as you think you will work... you're not going to do well unless you are a genius math major with a love of discrete mathematics. He will not work with you and was so condescending to us all! Horrible.

This class was supose to be sooo easy for me i even took it rather than taking college algebra BIG MISTAKE.He does not teach clearlt and all of the tests are short answer questions which are only right if he decides they are written to his liking.DROP THIS CLASS.

WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD in all 3 years of attending FAU! He is a condescending jerk who will not help you. I tried everything to do well. Went to him personally. He truly doesn't care about his students. Teaches about golden ratios in MGF, wtf? Cannot believe he hasn't been fired! Just shows you how messed up the FAU math department is. >.<!

He teaches the students as if they have all just reached their final course in a mechanical engineering major. Too much information covered briefly with little explanation besides why it should work, not how it works. Homework is assigned, never collected and tests are barely based on scanty material covered.

Simply put... Dont take his class... if you have to... take it with someone else next semster... if you cant... change your major... if you cant...drop out of school and join the military... trust me... IT IS JUST NOT WORTH TAKING HIS CLASS!!!!!!

we studied like crazy for our first test. on the test was nothing that was taught.. by him or in the book... then he asked us what he could do to help us improve our grades since we all failed. he denied all our requests and they were all fair/resonable. he doesnt help out students at all. DONT TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!!!

I took his class because it looked interesting. Little did I know that he is the worst teacher I would ever meet. He does not explain things well, and all graded work is dependent on his interpretation. He is so vague, that nobody can even understand the concepts. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. I am on the verge of losing my scholarship because of it.

He is not a good teacher, he makes students who ask questions to shame (make them feel that their answer is not good enought, students were afraid of asking or answering. DO TAKE THIS CLASS IF UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOT OF TIME TO STUDY AND DO HOMEWORK.

Should not be teaching.He would try to workout homework problems and get them wrong,and test were impossible to pass.Never failed a math as an engineering student but his statistics was harder then calc II and differential equ.Wish i had never taken him.

TERRIBLE. I dropped his course after the 2nd test. He thinks it's the only class you are taken. This guy teaches all theory and acts like it's a grad course or something. Don't take him.

Never asks questions directly and in class he is a jerk. You'll be teaching yourself most of the time, notes hardly help. At least 250 in the beginning of the semester only 30 people left before the semester. I am having to take statistics again next semester. Take Xu.

WOW! Worst teacher ever! He assigns homeworks which fail to show on exams. It's all about theory! Exams are very hard and full of totally new materials you've never seen before. You cannot really get prepared for them. Thank God I dropped right after the first test!

He does not explain the coursework and lectures about examples that do not help in explaining anything.he enjoys hearing himself talk and not teaching anything important for the course

I'm all about math and this professor killed it for me. I've never gotten lower than a B in a math course until this class. He assigns tons of homework that doesn't appear on the tests. He says he is going to give quizzes to boost grades but didn't give them. The tests are all about theory so there's nothing concrete to study.BAD TEACHER.DON'T TAKE

The worst teacher I have ever had(calc2). Cal1 for me was easy. He spends the whole class showing off how much he knows about math and talking about the theory behind what he is suppose to be teaching. His tests are suppose to be based on the homework but never are. Terrible. Do not waste your semester.

The lectures were not clear at all, he taught purely theoretical and even when he did use examples, it still wasn't clear. Slightly rude sometimes, doesn't offer extra credit, he knows the subject so well, he kinda breezes right through it.

When we asked what would be on the first test, he pretentiously danced around the subject and wouldn't explicitly tell us what would be on it. I have been a math tutor for 2 years and Lubarsky's style of teaching is messy and disorganized; I do not think he prepares lectures before class. This is reflected in my classmates' confusion before tests.

Whatever you do, Do not take this professor for Calculus 2 unless you're well knowledgeable on the subject. Does not explain concepts, content and questions clearly. Tests are based on large amount of questions in the textbook and tests are graded heavy. He knows calculus very well but the only problem is the way he teaches.

He may be very knowledgable but he's not qualified to teach others. He vaguely goes over topics from the textbooks. The textbook assigned uses a jargon that seems to assume the reader is not novice. He only grades test, homework is not credited. You could prob pass this class if you took no other class and dedicated all your time to it.

For methods of Calc. Do not take this professor, he is very horrible I constantly ask questions, and his responses are not helpful. If you want to take this class, take it online. I am very good at math. I had to get a tutor off campus do to the struggles i had in this class. DO NOT TAKE HIM AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only reason I took him was because he was the only option for my scheduling. I learned absolutely nothing in his lectures and the only reason I went to class was for the pop quizzes. He does not go over examples in detail in class and he'll lecture for less than half the class and makes you work on problems on your own for the rest of it.

I took Professor Lubarsky and struggled the entire semester. I had to take this class online because of covid, but I do not think my grade would have been better if it were in person. He doesn't really lecture. I reached out to him asking what I could do to raise my grade and he responded to do better on exams and offered no help.

Hes really smart and graduated MIT with a doctorate. However, hes not a good professor. He is very test heavy and gives a truly awful amount of homework. Office hours are available. But he talks down to you if he even bothers to show up. Also dont bother doing the SPOTs report, theres no extra credit. All around dont recommend taking him.

Extremely rude and condescending, he thinks he's above everyone else. If he's so smart why is he teaching calculus at FAU out of all colleges? Not helpful in any way and if you try to email him with a question, good luck!

WORST DO NOT TAKE toughest grader and has no sympathy for when the class does poorly. Too theoretical and wants you to understand the roots of math and where equations come from. I had to go to LA's and he gives no extra credit whatsoever. 3 exams then the final, please don't bother to take him.

I would never recommend this teacher to anyone. This teacher goes off topic in a whim during lectures, pushes students too far to the point of failing them, and makes tests supremely hard which have topics that are beyond Calculus 2. He believes that you shouldn't need a formula if you understand the concept. No formula sheet. No curve. No nothing.

The professor is really intelligent and is genuinely a math genius, that being said he teaches like everyone already knows the concepts, has a constant air of superiority and will talk down to you when explaining something if you ask a question he deems stupid (basically every other question) he will let you know and give a you a roundabout answer

His teaching ability is very low. Poorly describes concepts and it is hard to follow along when he is teaching. Expects you to know higher-level concepts. Doesn't actually teach you a well-described and planned-out formula. Expects you to essentially teach yourself. If I am teaching myself what am I in this class for?

He only teaches logic in every lecture, so you have no idea what to do when you get the worksheet. Has a sense of narcissism and expects you to know as much as him. Homework and quizzes after every class with 3 exams plus a final. Review sheets only contain about 50% of what's on the exams so good luck on your scavenger hunt to get a good grade.

Every negative review you hear about this prof are true, I was naive when I had him and it made me regret it. If you have to take MAC 2311 take it with someone else, I beg you. This man has such confusing and frustrating lectures and his exams are utterly insane. Save your mental health and go to someone better or wait until other profs are open.

Stay far away from this professor. His lectures are fast paced and complex, rarely answers emails, and his exams never matched his little reviews. I was 2 points away from passing so I emailed him if he can curve. He told me: "No, try again next semester." It is truly criminal that this school keeps him teaching after so many years of poor reviews.

Do not take professor Lubarsky. He cares, but he is extremely intelligent, so he breezes over important topics (test and hw topics). His lectures are not helpful he drew many graphs and explained theory, but provided barely any examples on how to do the actual hw. The hw took various hours to complete, even with help from the tutoring center.

Do not take this guy. Calc 3 is hard enough as it is and Lubarsky will make it impossible. He "doesn't believe in formulas" in a formula heavy class, just tells students to "figure it out" and ignore the formulas and methods that are in the textbook. He also doesn't believe in examples...in a calculus class. Save your time and money.

DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY. He makes a difficult class basically impossible by not allowing students to use formulas or methods from the textbook. He doesn't believe in examples either and will spend hours explaining how just "figuring it out" is easier then using a formula. Half of every exam ask WHY calculus works and he expects an explanation written.

First time I've ever written a review on a professor so you already know there was some debauchery involved. All the reviews are correct about Lubarsky. His teaching style is atrocious, while he may know a lot about the topics and is clearly very smart, he is not a good professor. Be prepared to do 60+ assignments that are vaguely grade.

The homework's were an absurd amount of pages. 10 pages of math homework due every 3 days. An extremely tough grader. Progress Assessments every week that are worth 50% of your grade. Go to LA hours they help a crazy amount. He only teaches the logic behind the math and not the actual math. Doesn't "believe" in formulas. NEVER TAKE HIM. AWFUL.

Worst teacher ever. His personality is very snarky and even rude at times when asking questions. Also, he gave tons of homework with hardly anytime to complete. He also was awful at lecturing and the only reason I got an A in this class was because of the amazing LAs in the class. Please, for your own sanity and time, do not take this teacher.

10 pages of hw due every 3 days. quiz every monday, which are like 40% of your grade. lectures for 1 hour and not once out of the whole semester did i learn anything. homework is completely different from lecture. quizzes are based on the homework. The only way to pass is go to LA sessions every week or cheat. Be ready to teach yourself.

Please save yourself the time and energy and not take this professor. We had so much homework due by next class and quizzes every Monday that were worth 40% of your grade.The only way to pass is by going to the LA sessions. Not to mention the guy is just kind of odd. He would take “breaks” mid lecture and just tell us stories about his life.

not all information in tests taught in class overcomplicates lessons, doesn't refer to the textbook, doesn't teach formulas, FREQUENT mistakes doesn't know how to do half the material he is teaching. He will skip over some that you will be tested on. He does NOT respect his students and treats us like kindergarteners. 10/10 would NOT recommend.

Dr Lubarsky is an ATROCIOUS lecturer!! Do NOT take him if you have any other options!! He doesn't believe in memorizing formulas, and students often have to teach themselves things from the textbook that he refuses to teach. He is also very condescending and WILL treat you like you're in middle school. I seriously doubt he reads his SPOT ratings.

He always assumes you understand the homework. He doesn't really teach you how to write proofs, he is a chill guy. And I respect his personality and knowledge about math, but when it comes to teaching, he doesn't really do a good job. He would make tests based on homework, but this is never explained during class, so one os never really prepared.

I could not recommend this any class less. Especially if you have other classes or you are not naturally good in math. The way he lectures is very confusing and get ready for the homework ! I put in a lot I mean ALOT of effort in this class and got B-. Good luck if this your professor.
