An amazing teacher !! pay attention and guaranteed u'll make an A in this course :)
The #1 thing you need to know is never ever be late to his class

when you first get in the class he might scare you with explaining what will be required of you. don't let that fool you though he is a great teacher and its an easy class. hated economics before and i made an A. ask ?s after his videos b/c he gives extra credit. if you don't like economics and want an a, then you should take this class
This guy teach at southeast campus..He is so eassy. You would beleive me. If you just show up for a class lecture. You should be able to pull an A eassly. Good luck, choosing this guy.
Ok, I thought he was hard the first day, but that was it. He uses scare tactics. After the first day it was a freakin breeze. Final is weigted as the same as all other assignments, many groups assignments, my suggestions is skip on the project dont waste your time, its not worth it. Lots of bonus points on final grade! I took him during maymester.
I took him in a Maymester and it was great. I would recommend taking his class.
very easy A but extremely boring and i dont thing i actually learned anything. never be late, he gives tons of ectra credit and if you're late then you wont be eligible for any of it until you write a 5 page essey explaining why you were late (goofy). still a very easy class, even tho it sounded like it would be hard from the sylibus.
Took him during a mini-mester. Tried to scare everyone the first day by describing all of the work. Class was easy. Most work was done in groups. Gives lots of bonus points. Never be late.
this a great teacher. you don't have to do much in the class besides show up. if you don't show up you probably will not make an A
Good teacher. In the syllabus it seems like it's going to be a hard class, but it isn't at all. Be sure to show up to class, don't be late, & speak up in class. He loves that & you'll get tons of extra credit. Sometimes he is a bit confusing. Overall though he is a great teacher.
He is really the easiest Professor and his teaching is very helpful ,understandable and great...
You must attend every class. Easy work. Will not learn a thing though. He counts 92 or better as an A, most people make B. 3 times a semester he will skip class (no class) He has a PhD but he is not intelligent at all. Confuses himself. Basically he is a washed up business man that is trying to teach his failed methods. Easy class with min work.
great teacher, he treats you like an adult which is great. all of the assignments weigh the same so make sure to come to class and do the work or else say bye bye to your average. very great teacher.
I took Dr. Mckizzie for a may-mester and pretty much just showed up and did the work. It's pretty much impossible to get anything lower than a B. I got an A and did not do any studying at all. Overall Dr. Mckizzie knows his stuff but can be unclear at times. Easy A
VERY TOUGH teacher. You have to be there everyday and take notes and you HAVE to read the book. Then you get an A. I literally studied 2 to 3 hrs a day for this class and the project is hard! I only slept 4 hrs a night the week that the project was due. I am taking Tamika Stewart for ECON 2302 and she is sooo much easier....so take her for ECON 230
Super nice guy, but does not need to be teaching. Once things get more involved, he's pretty much clueless. If you want an easy A, take this class. If you want to learn, find someone else. One mid-term project and group work. All grades are of equal value, including final exam.
He knows nothing about Econ even the basic math formula. He likes controlling his class. You want to get A, dont skip the class, dont talk in the class.Get along with him....Dont make him work hard. I feel unlucky to regester for his class.
Very helpful! He engage the class and not about him but us
He's very unsure of himself at times..we did a major group project, it got graded but then he lost it! We didn't have a copy so he made us start all over again (half a semesters worth of work due in a week!). He forced students who might have talked during class to move to the front, def take Trask for economics, she's the most amazing teacher ever
I agree with you that he seems somewhat unsure of himself when he gives us the benefit of the doubt. I know this situation because I was in this class if it was last fall. He said he gave the paper back to you and my group wondered what was your groups? problem because he had the class do the project in several phases and who ever put the project
An awesome professor! One thing you have to attend his classes because of constant ga
If you can avoid him...do
I had Dr.Mckizzie for mac&mic. I hated him(Test&PJ's)I am at UTA now.I wish I had him here for for mon.& bank. at least he makes class interesting.
Dr.McKizzie enables a very fun learning enviornment! He encourages questions, and comments.I would not miss is class because of frequent graded activities.Be on time too.
He knows his stuff! He has a uique way to help us understand eco.and yet make it fun. Most everyone liked his grading system.
I heard about this guy, they said take him. I did and made a D, no one told me that if you came to his class late and miss a few it would be a dissaster! This works for me in my other classes.
I heard about this guy, they said take him. I did and made a D, no one told me that if you came to his class late and miss a few it would be a dissaster! This works for me in my other classes.
His class is very interesting. You NEED to go to class because you usually have GA's every day. you need to read your book to keep up and also you will do a project with a team for your mid term. but it was an alright class.
Dr.Mckizzie taught me eco yrs ago at EHS. Now he has taught me and my daughter college eco. He was great then and has continued his legacy. He is still funny too! Now that this class is done I will tell him. I doubt that he will remember me.
Dr.Mckizzie taught me eco yrs ago at EHS. Now he has taught me and my daughter college eco. He was great then and has continued his legacy. He is still funny too! Now that this class is done I will tell him. I doubt that he will remember me.
HORRIBLE TEACHER!! AVOID!
It would be a mistake to take Dr.Mckizzie's class if you are constantely tardy and absent. He doesnt give bonus points or extra credit. I took him for two classes and earned an A. He is an excellent professor!!!!
Ditto on Dr. Mckizzie:I was absent a few times and tardy at times and he would not give me one point so that I would make a B.
Dr. McKizzie is a great professor. In the beginning he hands out a huge packet with the midterm guidelines in it. The midterm is a team project which is an extremely EASY 10 page paper/powerpoint. You will have EASY quizzes every class. You have 3 choices on the final, essay, 90 question multiple choice, or another group paper. EASY CLASS, show up!
Dr. McKizzie is a control freak. Was stuck in traffic due to an accident on the freeway and was 3 minutes late to class - had never been late or absent before and he gave me a zero on a two question GA.
He takes his time to explan the material. He is always excited to teach and makes econ very, very, intesting. I lke the way he demonstrates how to graph, calculate, and interacts with the class. I worked hard for an A. When you take his class you will think you are in one of those econ seminars on TV. He connects his class to world
Dr.Mckizzie talks eco. system, numbers, statics, data and what all this means but you can't get him to talk politics...
he is a Crazy guy who needs to stop teaching. he made one of his best students cry for no obviouse reason. i think he is retarded and he looks like a frog. he also lop sided gumby lmao ahahahahahahhahaah!! point is i hate the guy.
All I learned in his class was that he has 8 TVs in his house, he has a PhD, he lived in Japan most of his life, and alot of other things about him.. He is a horrible teacher and has no respect for anyone. He kicked people out for no reason as well and favoritism. I would not recommend his class to anyone.
Wow!!!These last two comments posted sounds like some of my arrogrant High School, Dual Credit class mates!!! Dr. McKizzie was tough but, he was a awesome college college professor. He made us act like college students and not like kids in a summer camp! I for one got tired of some of the JERKS in this class.
I was in Dr. Mckizzie's Summer Dual Credit class and there was a lot of work and even two projects. I think if you did not learn anything you must have had some personal issues.
Really relly nice guy. Not the best teacher can be very confusing. If you are wanting an easy A then take this class but if you are really interested in the subject or it is an important part of your major take from someone else.
He has a neat style of teaching. Dr. Mckizzie is very encouraging and often offers a serious presentation about the effort and committment required to get a college degree. He motivated me to be more serious about my goals. Oh, I made an A in both semesters in his class. He is very food at what he does in the class room, and very helpful.
I needed microeconomics as a leveling course to get into UNT's MBA program. Dr.Mckizzie was very helpful in class and after in preparing me for mangerial econ. I made a B in his class but econ was always a struggle for me. I would take him. He makes econ. simple.
You will find that he is a nice person. If you think he gives grades do not take him. I worked my "butt" off to make an A. Your best shot of making an A in his class is do not come tardy or miss a class. He gives a lot of graded activities he calls GA's. Overall I recommend him.
Horrible. I have no idea how the comments are good when everyone in my class can't stand the guy. If you ask questions and he doesn't know the answer he will say we are running out of time or draw some graph that makes no sense at all. There is a major project but it only counts twice which is insignificant against the daily tests you must take.
Mr. McKizzie is a good guy. However, I didn't like his teaching style. He says that he isn't political during his lectures, yet constantly praises the left wing. Almost every class he found some way to mix politics into economics. Can be very confusing as well. Does not grade based on the rubric, but rather what "he wants". I got an A in his class.
I took D.McKizzie for both econ's and I never found him lost for words or answer's. He is very good at what he does, and very compassionate. I am at UTA now and he prepared me well.
Dr.Mckizzie makes eco. exciting and enjoyable. He does an excelleng job of asking questions of us and keeping us envolved. He explains eco. terms, concepts and formula's in a very neat way. He often compare data, formulas that we learn the maeaning of and how they reflect on or from the world.
Dr.Mckizzie's teaching style is very energetic, compassoniate and student paticipative. He walks about the class room as he lectures constantely asking questions and what do we think. I would like it better if he would leave us alone and stay at his podium. His project is okay because It brings the real world into eco.,and he grades fair accord. syb.
Some of his lectures are very confusing. He has so many presentation slides that he sometimes gets lost in them. He grades easily but make sure to come to class and print out his notes because those GAs can hurt you. Funny guy, but has a not-so-productive teaching style.
He makes you think, and constantly ask questions in class to make sure we are in touch. He is very organized. If you miss a class you will be clueless because he always have some kind of graded activity(ga)the next class.I enjoyed his class because of his humor and friendly presentation. His project taught me how to research and work with people.
Show up to every class and get an easy A. Read the book, you won't learn anything thru lectures. Do not expect any clarification. Do expect him to be confused and occasionally teach you things wrong. Project and Final have no weight, don't sweat them. Just show up daily and let the easy grades pile up.
He is an excellent Professor, I made a B, could have made an A If I had made it to class on time. He often have short test at the beginning of class. You will like his lectures because he connects to the real world.
I have been a part-time student at TCC for several years, and a mature student(older). I have had the fortune to observe and listen to my peers comments about Professors before I take their class. I hear mixed comments about Dr.McKizzie, however, my experience is that he is very creative, inovative, informed about eco. issues and he has lots of humor.
I was told that all his grades had equal weight and he only gave A,s. Do not believe this!!! He gives a lot of test, unit test's they count 200%,projects they count 200%, mid-term exam it count 200%,and a final exam it count 200%. but dont' listen to stuff about his class unless you had him. I did not sign up to work my butt off. The class was ok
I like him some didn't. He has rules in his class. If you dont man up and respect your education mission in his class you wont like him. Dont' be a goof off. He is nice but will not let you mess with him or his class.
We had a total of 3600 possible points and unit tests, final, and project were worth 200 each.Everything else was worth 100,which were pretty easy to get everything. Then all you had to have for an A would be 3240.That meant,I got a zero on my final exam and got an A.Just pay attention and READ the book. You'll do just fine as long as you're trying.
He was awesome! I did not make an A but I learned a lot, as well as about responsibility in and out of the class room. I will take him for microeconomics.
I calculated that I would make an A. I did not show up for the final exam, because taking a zero would not hurt my average. It did I missed an A by two points. His final counts twice.
Enjoyed this class, learned a lot...Dr. McKizzie is AWESOME...he's instructions are clear...attend class, complete assignments an A is possible. Plan to take him for Micro.
This class is pretty easy. If you are always late and like to ditch class don't take this class. If you show up and do his class quizzes (soooo easy)you'll do fine. Come to class and if you participate- he loves it. I wouldn't bother buying the book (didn't open it once). Take notes (easy) he repeats things and it sticks in your head. Got an A!
I took macro. last Fall and was'nt ready to take care of business,a phrase often used by Dr. McKizzie. I dropped his class, and took him for the Maymester and passed with a B. He is an excellent Professor, and I think his class is easy, if you make his class and study. Oh, dont' bother if you need a couple of points to make a higher grade.
Smart man, has a crazy kind of humor. But a good teacher. Take notes, graze over the chapters, and keep a steady pace of his big group essay and you'll do great. Don't worry about yours grades you have a assignment almost everyday and the big stuff (unit GA, project, exam) is only worth 2 grades each, out of about 30. Not hard, but be professional.
He is an amazing teacher you just have to attend every class and don't be late. I got an A because i already know economics, IF U DON'T HAVE AN IDEA ABOUT ECON YOUR NOT GETTING AN A!
I absolutely LOVE taking Dr. McKizzie's courses. He gives you EXACTLY what he wants the first class meeting, and you are expected to adhere to these rules for the rest of the semester. As long as you are on time for class (and go to each one), you'll make an A. He is very approachable and understands that "life happens". HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
I am a business major but have actually managed to learn very little in this class. The little I have gained has been through my own study and efforts. There have actually been times when you go to class prepared and get more confused by the lecture. It seems he overloads you with work to help clarity, but manages to confuse you more with ea assgmt
Helps you out. Makes sure everyone feels important. He doesn't take peoples crap. But is nice. You learn economics as long as you go to class. Alot group work so make sure you pick good team members. You MUST go to class or you will not pass.
Very good Professor, dont be tardy or absent!Dont. He has a neat teaching style (fun). He has alot of work! Be ready. Lot of grades too!!
He has group assignments and group presentations during class. Everyone has to speak during presentations. He grades the content and understading of the presentations. He has a Mid-Term PJ. He lectures in a way you can't sleep (talks to us)
He's a nice guy, but can't teach. He will deflect questions & doesn't lecture (YOU do!) Almost all work is done in a group, so if u are stuck with ppl who don't work, too bad! There aren't even team evals. You all do bad or you all do good. He takes grades every day (all completion) so if u want an easy grade & u will b in class ev day take it.
At the beginning of the semester he said he is a students centered Pro.??? During the sem. I observed that he likes team (group) assignments in class and team presentations in class. He encourages lots of class interaction and questions. He does not lecture the whold class, he calls that old school. His teaching style worked for me.
He has a new and fun teaching style. At the beginning He is very strict on class room rules. I enjoyed this class!! He makes class interesting.
Dr. Mckizzie's class has lots of activies: discussions, presentatins, projects and tests. The class is well organized too!
A very good Prof. He makes topics and subjects simpler, basically easier to learn. He has a way of getting the class to think and learn from each other. I can's wait for the spring semester to start. I am taking him for Micro.
Had McKizzie for Macro. Be sure to show up for easy daily grades. There are daily discussions (you have to present to the class). On-line quizzes for chapters. Econ lab was a easy completion grade. Mid-term project & final exam options (project, essay, exam). Didn't use the book much, used his lecture notes. You will fail if you're lazy.
advice: do not miss any classes, do all the GA assignments, and choose your group very well they could bring your grade down or bring it up.
Microecon Maymester class. Covered two chapters per day. Online quizzes after class. Mid-term and final projects. Fairly easy to pass if you do the work. Daily graded activities.
Do not take his online class. He thinks you will be an economist who will win the noble prize after finishes his online course. Unrealistic home work and his questions are ambiguous and tricky. You need to spend lots of time to study and few posts every week on the discussion board, nonsense projects plus lab test and online test.
Do not take his online class. WEEKLY: Chapter, Econlab, "Quiz" (40Q), 2 Db's. There are weeks that he does 2 chapters so you double all the listed above. Group midterm paper(avg.30pgs) + PowerPoint, and when you think you made it to the end he starts adding 2 extra assignments weekly called EXGA. I had to work extremely hard for my grade.
His micro econ. class works for me. I was not doing well at UTA, and my counselor advised me to take micro at TCC. His method made me take hands on. W/O that I would not be making an A. I think most of the people in the class are making at least a B
He keeps my head in the class, and it makes me keep up with his assignment's.
Good professor and he will work with you if needed. He moves fast in class so pay attention and show up.
Do not take his online class. You will be spending lots of hours per week to work on quizzes, tests, dashboard assignments, 100 Econlab questions per week plus surprise assignments EXGA. Plus, you will be given three comprehensive tests. After finishing this course, it feels like I got my PhD. Totally insane
I work and go to school and his micro econ. class made a lot of sense to me, it was practical. He always related to the real world, and getting a job.
Dr.McKizzie's micro. Maymester class was amazing, well organized and connecting to the real world economies. Excellent professor.
Do not take online class! Very difficult to keep up with any kind of schedule. He believes is online class is the same as a lecture class. One major case study that has no relevance to the class, although it is an easy grade. He should take in to mind why people actually take online classes and therefore adjust his teaching methods.
I would never be a professor. It's a no thank you job. The TCC Prof's I have had never made exceptions for an online class. I think Dr.Mckizzie should continue to be one of the best TCC Prof's I have had!
You have been warned! Do not take this guys online class. You will not do well. Save your GPA. A 10 pg. group APA paper and 20min Powerpoint is excessive. 2 ch, 2 tests,4 DB posts Rely to 2 peers per DB post in 5days in ridiculous. All DB posts due Mon. after Mon grade drops. Skip this man and take it with someone else.
The disabilities dept. recommended me to Dr. McKizzie, and I found that my learning needs were not only meant, they were the same for all of the students to my to my surprise. He has a lot of assignments, but that helped me. After the on campus macro class I took him on line micro and Bingo we were a good match.
He always return my e-mails quickly. He was great on explaining how the discussions were graded, as well as lecture notes Power Points, and study questions. He is big about following the rules he set in participation. Other than that the class was easy and informative. Good Luck!
Good class, be prepared to work!
I love online classes. I HATED this class. Way too much work. I mean, more than I have EVER done in ANY class. Everything is due on Monday(??). Econ is a hard subject, take on campus. Tests are hard and do not make sense. He won't use email, must use some messenger. If you don't want to stress all semester-take a diff professor.
3 wkly db's due Monday(so you must read 1-2 chapters Mon also), peer responses done throughout week-cannot do all on same day but you get deducted points if you do ANY responses ThursFri (?), 40 question quiz EACH WEEK without enough time to finish, Exams are even harder. Weekly grade shaming posted (9 fails,6 passing student). 2 group projects.
I have him for macro. Very good professor. He has lots of activities and stuff to help you learn, and he makes the class fun.
I transferred from the University Phoenix for a less rigorous course system, and now that I am at TCC in Dr. McKizzie's class I'm stuck ( same as Phoenix) lots of work! I pay a third the cost though.
His teaching style worked for me. Lots of postings helped me.
He has a team case study (group) mid term, you pick your team. The case study for the final is optional. He provides lecture notes in Bb, Lab, PPT,Study questions. If you don't make class on time or absent, I don't think he's the Professor for you. With all the materials he provides the course was very easy for me. Oh he is fun but strict.
He has a lot of assignments, and discussion in blackboard, but they really help you to do well on the blackboard test. I would take him again.
This class was extremely difficult, I have worked so hard just to maintain a B. Theres 3 discussion boards a week and 2 of them you are required to comment on 2 peers as well AND tests. He has given me 0s twice when I had to point out I had done the hw. The group project is a nightmare trying to organize with 7 other people online. DO NOT TAKE!!
Very Strict but he can be very nice if you are a good student and want to learn!
Dr. McKizzie was great in econ. I followed his directions, sent him messages when I needed him, and he was there. I think he is only for us that have a solid mission. If you are looking for a free ride don't take him, or if you are lazy don't take him. He is a challenge. I was home schooled, and my folks prepared me well for this Professor.
I am paying for this class this time around, and it makes more sense now. My point is dig in and follow his instructions. He is tough but he will work with you if you do your assignments, I found this in the long and short run. I recommend him.
He connects real world issues past, and present issues with chapters. This was interesting and kept my attention. The course was interesting because he has a way to keep your attention by always asking questions. Bb discussions were helpful too. Fun class.
Very good Professor. He has a mandatory ProjectCase study. It is a group thing, and you pick your team. You write a team research paper, and put together a team PowerPoint for presentation at Mid. Semester. The other ProjectCase study is optional. He has a test after every chapter. If you don't want to be bored take him.
His class taught me to hold myself accountable and to avoid procrastination. Moreover Dr. McKizzie's econ class taught me how to calculate economic data, and how to interpret the data. I wish I had taken him on campus. I think he would be very interesting!
He post a lots of help in Blackboard. Like notes, PPT, study questions, discussion questions, video's, and a Lab that really helps. Don't be tardy or miss class. Get on a good teamstudy group.
Good Teacher. Hard Class. No Games. Do your assignments come to class you will be fine.
He has lots of class, and treats his students with very good respect. Don't make him mad by disrespecting his class room-tardy or not coming to class. He wants us to be successful in his class. Great Professor! I wish he taught other classes too.
This Professor's graded activities (GA's), videos, labs, study questions, case study's, and classroom discussions had a major impact for my success in this class. It also help me to better understand economics. I also liked the way that he respected our opinions right or wrong.
I registered for this class in hopes to learn something about Microeconomics, but instead I was given work that I had never seen before or studied (on the first day of school). The work was due less than 48 hours after class and we had to do 7 assignments, two tests, one with 70 questions, another with 20 questions and repeat this for 15 weeks.
I took Dr. McKizzie last Spring and he is fun, strict, and makes us do work in blackboard such as review notes, study questions, discussions in other word loads of work the week before we cover a lesions chapter in class. He give every one a chance to speak, and express themselves, and meet in study groups. He taught me speak how to think.
Unless he has changed from two years ago when I took him for micro. He was helpful in as much as giving us lots of time to ask questions in class, speak, meet with our team (study group) and ask questions. However, he was tough on tardy students, and absents . Hi was very good on returning messages.
He's fair, and has lot of opportunities to do well in his class. Yep! He takes lots of freaking grades, so look out! His style really helped me. You get to speak, write, and meet with your study group in class.
He loves to teach but his methods are not for me. Strict guy; LOTS of work, lab quizzes, and quizzes. Mostly all work and quizzes are online so that's a plus but there is a lot of work! He makes you work for you grade.
Took the 8week online class. Assignments were easy, but there were so many of them. I had more work in a week than I did for an entire semester in my other 8week class. Had 2 major group assignments, where no one wanted to work. I didn't understand having a group in a short, online class. He didn't seem care that the others didn't do anything.
Whew! I finished better than I thought I would. The fist day I thought he was too demanding. It turned out he was setting the path for our success wBlackboard, assignments that further prepared me before each class. We had loads of team work in class, and discussions (He called it flipping the class room). I am a B & C student, I earned an A.
Dr. McKizzie is a good professor. He gets excited in class, and it will be hard to read what he wrote on the board. You'll get a course planner that is color coded, and tells which assignments do or don't count toward your grade. NO LATE WORK OR EXTRA CREDIT. He is willing to work with you, but only if you participate in class and show initiative.
Overall, easy A if you do your work. That being said, there is a lot of work. Took as a dual online class, and for every chapter there was one 50 question pretest, 2 discussions, and a 20 question test. Every week, there would be multiple chapters to do, so the work adds up. Group projects were stupid. Don't procrastinate. Quizlet best friend.
This class is NOT hard, but it does require hard work and dedication! There is a lot of work involved in this class (3-4 quizzes, 6-8 discussion boards, and 3-4 tests per week). There is also a group project which didn't really make a whole lot of sense for an online class. Study and do the work and you can get an A easily.
Very interactive class, he likes questions, and has class work in teams that he calls study groups. If you do what he says in Blackboard, and do the case study it is a easy A. Don't forget to be on time, and make class. I didn't like all the work in Blackboard but it was all good!
If you want to write a collaborative 10 page paper with eight of your other online classmates, go right ahead. As an online class, I prefer to do the work myself and not rely on anyone else. In addition, there's a list of work to be done each week but it's not too difficult, a lot of busy work.
In all due respect, Dr. McKizzie is a really cordial, professional, and helpful professor. However, you better be ready to work! I am taking four classes at UTA and I have more work and responsibility for this one class than those four combined! So if you're not working or have an easy class schedule, this class is for you. If not, reconsider.
I took Dr. McKizzie macro class on campus, and his style is just what I needed because with my three kids and resent divorce I need a schedule that keeps me focused, and on track. The way his class is set up works for me. His assignments are helpful, and his notes, study questions and Lab. Test are only 20 Qt's
If you're a punctual student looking for an A to add to your transcript, Dr. McKizzie is the man for you. He's not the most intelligent or reasonable of professors, but most of his assignments can be found online, and the midterm project is relatively simple to do in your group.
I have had good experiences in Dr. McKizzie class in learning. He is very organized, and good for posting assignments. His ability to work fun, learning, current issues in his class works for me. He also offers lots of opportunities for us to perform well. I would do the assignments before class. You get half credit if you are tardy.
This Professor's kept me on my toes. You better make it to class, and do not come tardy or not prepared. He has assignments in Blackboard that has to be completed before class or it will cost you! He makes the class fun if you let him. He goes over formulas on how a businesses is profitable, and encourages us to talk about our work world.
This Professor has a very interactive class. I dislike boring classes, and he keeps us on our toes. His assignment are all in Blackboard, this works for me. I think that is why we have a lot of class time to discuss the formulas, and economics events. He has a group project that he calls a case study. It is geared so that we are using eco lit.
I took this class online and felt it was an Easy A. A lot of people didn't like the fact that there were a TON of assignments-however a ton of assignments room for some error unlike classes that only have 4 tests the whole semester and no busy work. There is a group project even though it's online that's worth a good chunk of your grade. Helpful.
This class is SUPER easy if you aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and do the work. 1-2 Discussion Boards, 1-2 MyProfessor Labs, and 1 test per week. Dr. McKizzie answers emails within 1 day and is more than willing to help with any questions you may have. DUE DATES ARE NOT FLEXIBLE! He is very strict about not accepting late work.
I enjoyed this class. He calls it reality econ, and encourages lots of questions, and comments that connects to the formulas taught that we discuss. Everyone are in a study group they select that he calls a team. He has lots of study work in Blackboard, and most of the Grades are in BB. I especially like this class because it connects w/a lot...
My GD this class has so much work. I am in week 4 and I have already turned in 26 assignments in this class. This is the most work I have ever done in any class and with all the information given its pretty overwhelming. Assignments are not hard but its too much. Be prepared to have 5-6 assignments per week.
Gee, he requires lot of assignments that are due for each chapter before the each class meets. I finally caught on that wants us to learn from each other in class discussions. Actually, they are simple assignments. The assignments are loaded up with video's PowerPoints, his notes, and a Lab. you might say he want's us to learn. He has a 20 Q.s T
Dr. McKizzie was my econ. Professor for macro on campus, and my micro Professor on line, all I can say is that he makes his classes fun, interesting, and real world. He requires a lot of work in Bb, but that is to prepare for class before we meet. Oh, he does not require a book. He provides his notes, PowerPoints, study questions, and a LAB.
Overall this was the easiest A I have ever received. There are 2 major presentations with your group of 8 that has to last about 20- 30 minutes. However, he gives out a boat load of homework. Most of which can be found on quizlet. He is very strict on not using your phones and not leaving for any circumstance during class.
good class overall, just a lot of hard work. he is very strict on time, that's one class that you'll never get out early from. its easy if you are dedicate to getting things done, its not for slackers, if you have hard time doing hw I woulnt take him because in his class there's a lot of hw.
There are about 92 assignments total with discussion boards, labs, graded activities, group project, and final exam. This doesnt include the self testing questions. Its a whole lot of work for an online class. You will learn. If you are lazy then dont take. But with so many assignments you can make a few zeros and still walk out with an A.
Dr. McKizzie was fantastic. There was a lot of work to due weekly in the online class, but if you space it out over the week it's quite manageable. There was one 2 group projects that take place over the first half of the semester, but the teams are large so the work per person is minimal. I would definitely take his class again.
Very strict and unreasonable, he gives out pop quizzes to the whole class when students show up late just to punish them. Gives out excessive amounts of homework. He has a bit of an ego, though he is easy to approach and gives clear feedback. I barely learned anything new but still passed with a B which shows how flawed his class structure is.
This Professor has been a good success for me and also TCCSE, as well as he and the student success department that teach time mgt., student success, help for first generation students, and first year student is great! Dr. McKizzie helped me put into practice what TCCSE guided me to practice, and I am grateful for his efforts and TCCSE.
I enjoyed this class. He gives everyone an opportunity to speak and discuss economic issues, formulas and how to calculate a business behavior in terms of how efficient it is performing. I especially like the teams/study groups he have us form. This really helped me to understand economics, and hear other ideas. His lectures are discussion style.
He is an awesome Professor. His teaching style worked for me. He requires assignments to be completed before class. They are very simple too. This works for me because his lectures are actually having us bounce questions off each other, and he listens to our discussions; if there are issues he makes interactive comments, and PPT demonstrations.
I took this course online during a 6 week summer session. He altered nothing to accommodate the fact the class was only 6 weeks long. You had 3-4 lessons a week and there is a ridiculous amount of busy work. It's easy, especially when you realize quizlet is your best friend for this course, but it's A LOT of assignments.
Do not take this man for online, summer, or at all really. Unless, you plan to slit your wrists with the insane amount of homework. I have never had a professor assign so much homework. 10 hours a week minimum to do everything. Plus group assignments on top of homework. If you have no life or other classes then take this class and regret it.
I took this summer class as one of the qualifiers to get into UNT's Graduate School of Business This Professor was spot on, given that I have been out of school for 15 years. His class helped me to realize and recognize that I wanted to move up in my company. In the end I realized that I had to pay the price to pass. Piece of cake class (easy).
Whew! I took his macro class on campus and it was work, but fun (made an A) His micro Summer class I thought would be a breeze, and he would cut me some slack. Noooo Summer class on line did not matter, same load of work. All I can say is that he is a good Professor but just do the assignments they are not hard y. Good luck with Dr. McKizzie.
I liked the way he lays out his expectations. The Notes, PowerPoints, and study questions helped tremendously. His discussion questions, Exit GA's also pushed me over the top to be on " A" pace for this class.
He is always there when you have a problem, even when you least expect him to be available. You will like the idea that he opens all his assignment ahead of time I finished this summer class a bit early. All and all you will find he is fair, and very helpful. Don't look for mercy if you don't keep up. I found out the hard way, I got the message.
If your new to blackboard and doesn't know how to use it. You better learn how because once the due date is done he wont let you make it up. Most of the work is online there is basically nothing to learn in class all the notes is online and the only reason to go class is the pop quiz in the beginning of class and attendance.
He treats students like children, he gives too much busy work, and he accepts no excuses on any work no matter if you were sick or in the hospital. He is very rude, and he is very strict. He had someone removed from class by campus police because the student took notes on his phone. He has no respect for personal space, he will get in your face.
Dr. McKizzie is very compassionate of how he teach. I think he might be too strict on his rules in his syllabus, but he is very witty, and fun and on the other hand if you are not respectful in his class you might not like his style. I am sitting here with my group and friends and we say Dr. McKizzie is one of the greatest econ Professors.
We were sitting in our study group, and one member looked up our Professor, and we were wondering if there were two Mckzzie's . We found one ours. He is very helpful in teaching us about what we are learning in class, how it is used in the work force. Some of us do not like he makes us do assignments in BB before class otherwise we like micro.
A caution this Professor has assignments in Blackboard that has strict deadlines. He teach to questions asked in class mostly, and as needed. He has group questions, and case studies. Do not get on a lazy team!! If you want a 55 min. lecture don't take his class. It worked for me but not everyone on my team.
I think you will enjoy his class. Everything he teach is structured to connect with out side the class room that helps us to understand the formulas in a reality approach in business and in a country. The only bomber that I dislike is that you will make a zero on a in class assignment if you miss, and he wants proof to make up the assignment.
I wish I had Dr. McKizzie at OU. I think TCC should have been my first start to college too. I learned how to study there. My GPA has improved, and now OU will let me back in.
Don't get overwhelmed by Bb assignments, there's lots of busy work but the class itself is so easy. Try to show up to class; he sees tardies/absences as disrespectful, and it'll reflect in your grades. He's not a great professor. You either learn what you teach yourself or nothing at all but he definitely sets up the class so you can excel.
Dr. Mckizzie has a unique teaching strategy if you do not prepare for class you will be lost in his discussions that he calls a 3 minute drill, and he calls it flipping the class room, actually most of us on my team find his class quite fun, and realistic to what we really need to learn. He is an awesome Professor, and don't prepare to sleep.
I have not had this much course work in all of the courses I have taken in the last 3 years, There is no less than 5 assignments a week. Must be started by Tuesday done by Friday by 6 .His rubric was almost impossible to read as numerous students were lost and a handful dropped within first week. DO NOT TAKE if you have other courses or a life.
I took Dr. McKizzie's for macro last year at SE and it was good. He have us form teams/study groups, and I suggest do not get on a team for the case study with teen's they are a pain. In his online micro class don't get on a team with old students, all they do is complain, and want the class to be self paced. They back up disc. questions.
His class assignments are due before we meet. We hate to tell him because he might brag but the assignments bring meaning to metrics, and formulas that connects to out side the class room. You can bet you will not be bored in his class. He starts out real tough, and he is little bit less strict at the end. I would not come to class late or mis
He will tell the class that no time can be wasted and then almost immediately start rambling about his past in the military or his family moments. teaches less economics than i knew to begin with before taking his course last semester and i even corrected him several times on what he was teaching. scribbles on the board and pretends a lot, terrible
I think Dr. Mckizzie is a special Professor, and he is very interactive with us in class, and that is how I learn. I especially like the way he brings job situations in his micro class. His teaching style was the same Macro, at times he has lazy people in his class from my experience and that is why I respect him of how he is. He makes you work.
His class is a peace of cake, and He puts all his assignments in BB. All his test and notes are there as well. If you not making an A you have a problem. We just talk about the assignments in class, and ask him questions and he give minnie presentations and use U tub to present a different insight for us to understand what he is teaching.
During Professor's student evaluations today I wanted to trash him, but I am making an A. He sure as heck did not deserve a good rating. Most of the assignments were unnecessary . If you can find a a econ Professor that has less work take him. One other thing he was okay just keep up. Like to do all the work in class not Blackboard, so there.
Good class, caution he has a case study and if your team/study group do not follow his instructions for the research paper/formatting, PowerPoint, and ware business attire on presentation day he takes of points.
Easy A, all of his work will be in BB notes and test so you pretty much can use google to help you and the mid-term and final will be a presentation
I found that he draws model's, graph's, and formulas on the board, and if you do not study his notes and lab in BB you are lost. He relates to real world examples. He loves questions and excited for questions. I would bring questions to class he goes on a roll with his graph, and formulas.
About 100 of questions to do weekly that are due by 6pm. Participation is required every class and you have to dress up business professional twice in this class with your group for your group presentations. Easy A but a lot of work on blackboard.
All I can say is that he has lots of humor and puts us in position to interpret, speak, and position our thoughts of economics of a business he calls POEB. He's not a hard Professor, and he is a real world Professor. Good luck with Professor McKizzie.
You might think he doesn't trust us to prepare for class given that he has required assignments before class. It works for me because I like to hear us try to teach the class because we know everything from assignments, and He sheds light on how it reflects on something that is going on that has happened that day or before. He connects us.
As a returning parent I felt he was very caring and thoughtful to his teaching. He wanted all his students to pass and understand macroeconomics. I felt that some of my classmates were disrespectful and didn't give him the credit he deserved. He is a wonderful instructor.
I came to TCC after the Navy, after experiencing some of my classes I now know why my parents pushed the military because I was a rebel, like some of my classmates. This Professor is very good and caring to help his students, and more tolerate than the Navy. I just want to say He take care of us that are home trained or not respectful.
This macro class was a snap, He he doesn't do bonus points or extra credit. The BB assignments were a great help, and that is how most of us keep our averages up. IN class graded activities called GA's he tells us to be ready for. He alerts us every class period. Some of us call them pop test but they aren't they are opportunities to excel.
Very insecure about his credentials, made an A in his class but did not learn a thing (mostly quizlet help) because lectures made 0 sense. If you want to take a class just for credit, easy go, but if your desire is to learn, look past him.
Many homework, all online homework but way too many of them. I ended the semester with total of 11,000 points grade, but all answers can be found on quizlet.
This is my second econ w/him. If you take his class beware of about 3 assignments a week and a 20 question tests. My experience w/his class is that he is not good with coming to class late, coming and going as well disrespecting his class in other words, I think most of us think that this is a junior college and we should have some slack.
Good class! Everything is in Bb, way ahead of due dates, and we know what to expect. Assignments are set if we want to work ahead, or peak ahead. He is very nice but strict on his rules like being late for class. He does make class fun, He has a Lab we have to complete in Bb before class. His notes are their too. He has study questions also.
By far my favorite professor. Wants you to leave this class with REAL WORLD KNOWLEDGE. Ask him questions, he will tell you what he knows with no sugar coating. Enjoys class participation and bouncing around ideas. Real brain stormer. Was a coach back in the day so you already know he wants group projects. He's a real, funny guy. DO WORK!
I would never suggest anyone take his online micro course during a summer session. HOMEWORK HEAVY. You might like him if you enjoy busy work. On the plus side, all the lab and test answers are on quizlet. But those are only a couple grades in an ocean of assignments. Another plus would be that you don't have to buy a book.
I took Dr. McKizzie for Macro. last Spring on campus, and this Sum, and OL he was very helpful via Blackboard messages, and returns message quickly. His assignments are study questions, and a Lab that help me to prepare for his 20 question tests that he has after each chapter. I found if you do his assignments you really learn eco. & a lot.
I took Prof. McKizzie in the Fall, and he lays out all his assignments and what to expect at the beginning of the semester. I loved this, and knew what to expect. With three kids at home, and working he was a good fit for me because. He also set up study groups and we got a grade for meeting. I enjoyed his in class discussions, they helped me.
Professor Mckizzie is great! I took him online for Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. I would recommend taking his class.
Took McKizzie's online summer class (5 weeks). It was scary at first & there were 2 group projects to do. I passed with an A & I worked my butt off to get there. He is a good professor and I would take a course with him again.
very annoying prof but i didnt care because i did not participate with him/her, idek if they a dude a girl. i did the class online, all the answers can be found online for tests and quizes, hardest part was the discussion boards and the 2 group projects. lots of discussion boards
I would rate this Prof. as a three star, but I would say hes's a four star. I saw him, and his wife at the Hills church, didn't know he went to church. Be aware of his study groups that he calls teams. He also has a study group case study that you might not like. You might have some jerks on your team. He is good on Returning emails fast.
Online class-WAY TOO MUCH busy work. Group projects that require multiple physical meet-ups? Obviously, this prof does not understand why people take online classes. Unless you have an unlimited amount of time to devote to this class, I would recommend a different professor.
I just completed Dr. McKizzie's macro class, and he is worth the work that he assigns, All of his assignments are simple for understanding economics. His class was easy for me this Summer he list all assignments in advance. Assignments are in Blackboard, and he has no on campus assignments. I am signing for his micro class this Spring oLine.
High workload. Not difficult, but boring. Average weekly: 20 study questions 20 question test 2 discussion boards, replies required 40-70 question Lab for next week's lesson Thanksgiving week work due 2 days early and 2 weeks worth of work due the week after. 30+ page paper with accompanying presentation for midterm; worth 5% of final grade.
I took his class because he is highly recommend by my adviser at TCU. I found that he brings real world into his class, works the formulas with what he teach, and even how to interview on a job interview. Some how he always make the class exciting and fun. I would not miss his assignments. they actually help for class discussions. TCC is okay.
Fairly easy grader, does have lots of homework but once you get used to it it is pretty easy. You do not need a book in his class as it is open source. Tests are fairly easy. Its Two discussions boards a week and take Two tests a week which are easy.
If you like group work and like a well prepared professor, he's the one to take! NO in-class tests at all, everything is online and through blackboard. The Mid-Term and Final are both group projects/presentations, which is better than a multiple choice exam any day. Would definitely take him again!
Overall the class was very easy all your work is on blackboard and can be done ahead of time during the week cause everything is due on Fridays. If you forget to do the work don't even bother asking for him to reopen it cause he doesn't care. He doesn't talk to his students after class you can only message him.
He says what he actually feels about you meanly but in a nice way. Missed a grade? Oh well "0" there is no going back. Do all your work in a timely manner you'll pass just fine. All of your work is on blackboard.
I am a older student, and at times I recall when I was in college twenty years ago for the first time. I think TCC should have classes for older and more mature students. This Professor has good patience and does not care about popularity. I would take him just on the Idea he is very good at teaching, and an excellent teacher of economics.
Good class He does not lecture. He talks to us, always asking questions for us to think from the discussion assignments. He really brings real world stuff into the class that connects to what we are learning. If you were sleepy you could not because his social media really gets our attention. You will like this Professor. He is a good choice.
To me he is an excellent Professor. The one thing I liked most he taught me time management, maybe not to his knowledge. He had a time line for every thing we were assigned, and we could work ahead too. This was a tremendous help for me in all my classes, I think His personalized points seemed to help most of us, as well as simple assignments.
His information in Blackboard was helpful. notes, lab, study questions-not graded and study questions we even had a PT. We though this was a lot in there then we found this was very helpful. The lectures were really discussions like back and forth discussions about the formulas and what the results meant from the results of a countries behavior
His PP'ts were very helpful, and connects to class discussions. His Labs were the best part to understand this class. I am taking his micro econ class and hope his micro was as good as his macro.
I tried to get in Dr. McKizzie's macro class, and it was full. Good experience His class always connects to real world with the concepts and formulas that are used. he likes questions in class that helped us think. His rules, be on time, complete assignments on time. The rule I like at the end of class send send me a message in BlackBoard
Beware of first week assig'. I took him last semester and you might have 5 assign's syllabus test, what's in Bb, a video assignment due date's simple easy stuff. First day he talks ESL which no body understands and he refers it to economics as a second langues. I hated this then but this time around I hot his style down. All I can say good luck!
He is not clear when teaching. You basically teach yourself, classes are pointless. He is easily distracted and does not give you time to take notes.
I am in Dr. McKizzie's class, and he is a classy Professor, and appears to work hard to make his class exciting, I enjoy his class most of all because he encourage lively discussions, and use great power points to help us to relate to the real world with his interactive style. He also put all his notes in Blackboard. I love this.
Be ready for him assigning everyone to a study group. No choice you will have to pick a topic from his list for a study group case study. He has all his study materials in Blackboard, and this really helps No use in asking for retake GA or make up assignment. He will not go their. I did okay for the most part. No problems
Good econ class, if you do not mind having assignments and test in Blackboard. He has a different approach when teaching. He flips the class room, and have us teaching each other, after he gives an interactive lecture. This works for me because I love to talk, and ask questions. "He says in this class everyone is a teacher, but one Profssor."
He's strict on being on time, and attending class, it want help your average. Good class for discussions.
Hey, he has lots of assignments in Blackboard do not let this scare you, easy class. The assignments really helped me to understand what he was talking about and they help my average too! All and all good micro econ. class.
Hes good
Make class on time. Do his assignments before class. Assignments are very helpful, and discussions too! All and all an fun professor, and interesting Prof..
The class is tough, and there is a DB, Lab Course Online, and test every week. You have one group project and participation is a MUST! Other than that, the class is very organized.
The information he provides is clear and easy to grasp. However, he only allows certain days to post on discussion boards and requires you to respond on different days. Does not allow you to work at your pace and when asked responds in a condescending manner. Despite having a B, I withdrew as well as other students, because of the Professor.
I had Professor McKizzie last Spring, and I want him for this the next Spring semester, and I can not find him. He was an awesome Professor. I highly recommend him. He gives all his notes, study questions in blackboard, and this really helped me. His special PowerPoint's are are deep for you to understand the chapters. He makes you work. He's Ok
Good class, gives his notes, study questions, when you click the answer comes up. He thinks we are in biology because he has a required lab. His Power Point are great. You Tubes that bring the outside world in, matching what he wants us to learn. The discussions are great to, they really helped. He sends messages to help. Returns questions.
Well organized system. His required assignments are very helpful to understand economics, and prepare for his mandatory discussions, and tests. He assigns all of us to a study group for discussions, and that was a great idea. We bounced questions and thoughts off each other. He also graded the discussions, and participation. This help me to.
Do not take this online class! The instructions are crazy and so confusing. Too many posting hoops and rules and the DB are not easy to access. His instructions are extensive and very hard to follow--very scattered and disorganized instructions. There were 85 assignments for a 5 week class--over the top. Unmanageable and unreasonable!
Be prepared to do a lot of discussion boards and quizzes. Overall, he's not that bad.
Dr. McKizzie is a really helpful professor, you know he will have your success in mind and would help you reach a good understanding of the material. he will give you a clear system with full instructions on how much and when you would need to complete the assignments. some classes are based on group discussions which helps to break down the lesson
BEWARE- this professor is easy but he is terrible at lecturing. Literally the whole class was left so confused. We would ask questions and he wouldn't answer, he will go off subject and leave you more confused. Some students even laughed and just walked out of the class from how ridiculous he was. "I am not the teacher, you are"- Robert Mckizzie
Fun, and very helpful. He has assignment that must be completed each week. They are mostly study question so that we do well on his test. I wish there was some way I could get in his online class because it is full. His on campus is preferred but he is teaching this Spring on line. I learned a lot.
This is the 2nd time taking Dr. McKizzie he is amazing. As long as you read and study you will do fine. I am doing an 8 weeks course , a lot of discussion but not very hard. Quiz and test per lesson and you get a participation grade from team leader.
Professor Mckizzie makes the class interesting, putting us in study groups that he call's teams. That really helps to bounce ideas, and under standing the chapters that he prepares us for with his notes that he gives us, and other helpful things for us to do well. The down side is you can't work at your own pace you have to keep up.
Dr. K is an amazing professor! His expectations & assignments were clearly laid out. You knew exactly what was due and when. He gave his lecture notes, PowerPoint, video links & a free book online. He provided personalized detailed feedback super fast! He showed great kindness during a difficult time. I highly recommend taking his class!
Everything is on quizlet. 3 Discussions every week with responses, and must be completed by Thursdays. His class is very organized and it's hard to miss an assignment. Easy A+. Take him if you can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Easy A! Lots of work but the discussions don't have a minimum word or paragraph limit, quizzes and tests were easy. He responds quickly. The book was free but wasn't really needed to complete the work.
Overall awesome class, rules and regulations laid out!
He has very helpful Power Points, and his notes and putting every in a study group really helps. The study groups really tuned me in to talk and discuss with t my peers.
I am taking this course as an 8-week online class, and the lack of organizational structure in this class is horrible. There are 4 BDs and 4 quizzes a week, and they're all pretty straightforward and easy, but one quiz randomly had an extra 25 problems that I later discovered to be from another week's lesson. Extremely unorganized and confusing.
Professor McKizzie is great!. I took him for an 8-week class. I really like him because he gives good feedback on group discussion boards. He gives around 3 group discussion boards and gave us study questions, and some testing every week. The testing is super easy.
Must be extremely organized. Took this 8-week course online and even though there were 116 assignments, my final grade was a 99.96%. All anyone did in my class was complain but will say the due dates were on Tues and Thurs at 6pm which are an inconvenience, and if you email the professor asking a question, he is very vague.
I cannot recommend this professor enough. I absolutely loved him, and during a semester where I hated going to class, his class gave me a reason to get up in the morning. Lectures were awesome, but keep in mind he gives out one large group project which can make or break the semester. It's not hard but it is a lot of busy work. Start early!!
Dr. McKizzie creates his own notes. They can be confusing but all of the quizzes you have to do are simple. All of the assignments, including the final exam, are graded equally.
If you are taking his class online, be ready to work everyday for the most part. The schedule for Microeconomics is flooded with busy work. Exams are proctored, including the 100 question final that is due the same day as another exam. I would not take him if I had a choice, but if this is the only professor avaliable, clear your schedule for work.
I had to drop out of this class because he does not use a textbook, and the mess of handouts and pdfs was unstructured and not easy to study. His discussion board assignment prompts were gibberish, and it was difficult to know exactly what he was even asking. He was nice, but I need more clarity and structure in a class like microeconomics.
The course was a bit disorganized, but using unstuckstudy AI and the free materials helped me stay on top of the content. Would take again if needed.
I don't even know what to say because the class is so badly organized but at least it was mostly easy. You'll probably have to rely on outside resources to study though.
