Mcleman has definitely been my favourite prof so far at Laurier. He not only encourages students to take study the environment but also help take small steps to reduce their ecological footprints. Super passionate and knowledgable concerning many biology topics as well, unfortunate he doesnt do third and fourth year courses.

Goes the extra mile to help students learn. Gives amazing lectures full of clarity and real life examples to help you understand the information. Absolutely made me excited for future environment courses to complete my environment degree. Lectures are based of the textbook and them some (which is very helpful) and exams are fair game.

Prof McLeman gave some really interesting and engaging lectures. As the textbook was $250 I didn't purchase it and attended all his lectures and got an 83% on the midterm (Haven't finished yet). Passionate about material. Gave a generous bonus mark opportunity and a really nice guy!

Rob has been my favourite teacher since first year. I took ES101 while majoring in sociology. After enjoying class with Mr. McLeman so much i decided to add a Minor in ES to my degree and specifically chose ES classes to make sure Rob was my teacher again. He's smart and funny. Class is interesting. All you have to do is be there and listen.

Such a great professor. Truly cares about the topics he presents.

Moves too quickly to take notes but he posts the slides online. I suggest going to lectures just to listen and then studying off the lecture slides later as this really worked for me. Labs are biweekly and easy if you follow the criteria and midterm is easy if you STUDY. You will fail if you don't.

He knows what he is talking about and is engaged, does a good job at making connections for better understanding. Lectures and course material are easy to follow, questionable sense of humor, some don't like that and his lectures, I didn't mind it at all, great guy in the end.

Easiest class I've ever taken. Labs were extremely straightforward and graded very generously. Midterm and exam were easy as long as you review slides/notes. Literally did not buy the textbook so don't bother. Clemdad tells you what you need to know,

He reminds me of bill nye. Hes awesome, fairly easy and understandable course. Really enjoyed him as a prof, his lectures arent mandatory but he does do exit tickets for extra credit every couple of classes

My favourite professor! he is super nice, caring, and makes lectures interesting. I want to take any class that he teaches. Everybody in my class loves him. if you keep up with the slides you will do good in this class.

He is an amazing professor. He is funny and his lectures are great, he's great at posting his lecture slides. He does these " exit ticket" questions, that are worth 1% in order to gain up to 10% in the course, he does more than 10 for those who miss a few in order to let you get your mark. It is an easier course if you find the material interesting

Definitely my favourite professor at Laurier so far. Dr McLeman makes his lectures extremely funny, ES110 was the only class I didn't fall asleep in. After the final exam, he stood outside the door and personally wished ALL his students a happy holiday. I miss his lectures already.

ABSOLUTE GOAT. this guy is a beauty, made me wanna minor in ES as a first year bba student. Wouldve ended with a 12 but got too confident with the final and bombed it, still ended with a 10. If you get your ta to like you and attend all the lectures, easy A.

Funny Prof, I wasn't interested in the content of the lectures but he made lectures good. Marks are easy to get in the class.

During this pandemic McLemen was a very caring and reasonable prof. His lectures were engaging, and he is a great explainer with difficult topics. ES110 is a very easy course, and part of that is of how manageable the course load and how good McLemen was with keeping the course organized. Definitely recommend anyone to take an env. course with him

Robert was such a great prof, so understanding and kind, really cared about students learning. The course is pretty easy and labs aren't that bad either. I will say that the midterm wasn't the easiest but overall it's a pretty interesting course, the prof is so nice and it's an easy class!

Dr. McLeman is a great prof. I took this as an elective for my BBA degree and it was my favourite course.

Absolutely fantastic fella, wish more professors could be like Professor Mcleman. Hillarious, caring, easy-going. Has his standards for handing his stuff in on time, but gives more than adequate time to get assignments done on time. Assignments were entertaining and unique and not strenuous. If I could have him for every class, I would.

Really easy marker for the 4 projects in the unit, you need to put minimal effort in them to do well. The quizzes are also fairly easy if you read the textbook and they are open book. The take home final is 5 questions to do in 1 week which is also fairly simple. I didn't go to many lectures, but they were all recorded and you can revisit them.

Mr. McLeman was my favourite prof, he is a great guy and the course is very easy. All around great guy that is very kind and easy to listen to. His class was very easy, the assignments could be done with minimal effort and they were all marked fairly easily. If anyone needs an easy elective I recommend you take ES110 with professor McLeman

W & Favourite prof this semester, genuinely sweet, funny guy, cares about his students & teaches well. Coursework: 3 assignments, 3 online quizzes (takes best 2/3), no midterm, and our final exam got moved to online due to weather and it was really fair for what the course is. Learned a lot, reflected on my life regarding nature, gave me purpose.

Professor Robert McLeman has made environmental sciences amazing to learn. His lectures alternate between the problem and how to fix the problem. He includes his own photos into the powerpoint to get the point across, whether it be climate change, aquatic systems, biodiversity, etc... He made the final exam online after it was postponed!

The best professor. I had him coming into university for the first time, he was the easiest marker and all the quizzes were online and mostly searchable.He legit gave out candy and chocolates for people the participated and even changed the final exam into a take home assignment because a few students couldn't make it to the rescheduled exam date.

i am literally in love with this man. he is frequently in my dreams. and i am a man. BEST PROF ever.

By far the best prof at WLU! this class will easily boost your GPA and you can learn about sustainability which i found to be interesting. The online lectures are exceptional, with clear explanations and helpful slides. McLeman's passion for teaching makes learning enjoyable and easier.

Super easy and interesting lectures

Fantastic prof who deeply cares about students and is passionate about course material. Assignments are marked reasonably and are fairly easy, exams are decent but slightly difficult to study for as the course feels like 10,000 cool facts at times, overall interesting content and very enjoyable would take again.

GOAT. He gave us all the questions for the final exam in the final lecture. I literally only studied the night before and got 37/40 on the exam. I also never went to class😭. Ended with an A.

There is a lot of content, but evaluations don't cover all of it. Really great course, and very important. Extremely qualified prof. Sometimes it felt like he didn't want to be bothered outside of class, but if you ask proper questions he's happy to help.

fav prof!!! so fun, you will enjoy his classes. he allows cheat sheets on midterms and basically tells you exactly what will be on the exam.
