First year professor. Would have never guessed. He is a very genuine person and puts psychology into terms that you can relate to. If you have any issues with the studies he is more than willing to help. I would recommend this professor to absolutely everyone.

When I attended his class he spoke with a lot of clarity and is easily understandable. But you do not have to attend the class to receive the same informaton because he makes everything available on Angel and his study guides for the exams are the best!

Robert Ott was the best teacher. Down to earth, and open. He sticks to the book and the lectures accordingly. Promotes in class discussions over material and the PsycPortal helps when studying. Do the work and read the book as instructed and you will do well. My only regret is that I do not have him for Human Development.

I honestly I have idea why in the survey they ask if he is "hot or not" Really??? The man is a good instructor easy to understand and familiarization with him is easy. If you attend the classes and pay attention to the power points (which are never to long) Then it is physically impossible to fail.

Average professor. Typical powerpoint lectures, hw assignments, multiple choice tests. Fairly easy class, just read the textbook & review w/ his practice quizzes. Group project was unnecessary considering we were assigned chapters we didn't even need to know for the tests, so it just felt like an extra burden. Personally, wouldn't take him again.

Excellent Professor. One note I would like to leave is that there is mandatory group work, so seeing him once a week can proved a real challenge for a newcomer.

Professor Ott is a very nice guy who took a huge hit when the economy went down (he wasn't always a teacher). Makes everything fun, and he really knows his stuff. Has one group project. Would take him again for another class if I had the chance. I always took notes on the exam reviews because those were the questions that would be on the exam.

He's very understanding! He likes to go in depth in topics, sometimes too much, but it honestly helped me fully understand it. He's hilarious, and will definitely make lectures interesting. We even played awesome review games, and he makes practice tests to help you for the exams. I love him, wish he taught more classes!

How I absolutely love this teacher. He is there for you when you need it, if you need help or need an assignment push back with reasonable circumstances he'll help. His lectures are very enjoyable and informative. His test are mostly multiple choice and come straight from his power points and book. He is an all around great teacher :)

Amazing , purely amazing. The way he conducts his class and his lectures are incredible, but his own demeanor is even better. You will learn, but the work load, due dates and late work is beyond reasonable. He tries to connect with every student and make the class enjoyable. If you have to fight someone, get this teacher!

He is hands down the best teacher I've ever had at irsc. He has a lot of stories to tell, and he is very funny. The smart book reviews on blackboard prepare you well for his tests. The only other work he assigns are discussion boards which are very easy.

I took both Psych and Human Development with him, and I have to say, he is a pretty great teacher. The work he assigns is not particularly hard, and there is not a whole lot of it. He does his best to make the lectures interesting and relatable. In general, tests are fairly easy, his grading is very lenient , and due dates are easily extended.

If would put more tags I would cus this class was flippin epic as frick! the teacher was an amazing dork of awesomeness and all his lectures were flippin hilarious an memorable which made the tests super easy! he was serious on topics that needed it and give epic advice that I use alot! I would take this class 50,000,000 more times cus it was epic!

Great teacher with an excellent understanding of the material. He has a unique teaching style with a high focus on making the topics relatable and interesting. Very willing to help students, and I've enjoyed a few great discussions with him. Overall, his class was a great experience that I looked forward to every week.

I took his psychology class when I was in high school. I learned A LOT from him and he was always super laid back, great at explaining the content and made sure everyone was comfortable in the class. Hes the reason why I decided to go into the psychology field because of how passionate he was about it. Really hope hes my professor for PSY2012

Dr. Ott's lectures are broken down in an easy way for students to understand. He does give out quite a bit of assignments but they prepare you very well for the quizzes and tests. If you miss an assignment, talk to him he is the most understanding professor ever and everyone in my class truly enjoyed him as a teacher. 10/10 would recommend.

Professor Ott was a very nice man and answered my emails quickly. The class was very easy. Connect assignments and quizzes were due every few weeks (since there was so many lol) 2 exams and 1 final split into 2. All multiple choice. 1 paper & 3 discussion boards. All pretty straightforward!

He lectured a few times but stopped since he wanted to give us time to work on our Connect assignments instead, and because he gave us the lectures through PowerPoint. Amazing professor. Extremely knowledgeable and loves what he does. Only two exams and some online textbook work can be finished in about an hour per week. Quizzes are unlimited attempts and it tells you the answers after. Only a very easy midterm and final and if you paid even the slightest bit of attention you're fine. Very engaging professor.

Great class. Dr. Ott cares about what he teaches and inspires the students to learn. Easy assignments. Take the textbook assignments DURING his lectures in the beginning of the course - saves a ton of time. 2 exams, non-proctored. Biggest assignment was an essay on a film that featured irregular psychology. I wrote 9 pages. Grades on participation.
