He is the best professor I've ever had!!!!!!
EASY class but boring as all get out. Sorry Rob, your classes score HIGH on the snooze meter.
I learn ed alot in this class. I enjoyed Dr. Reynold's teaching methods.
He was a great teacher and gave good advice about life. I really learned a lot in his class. Best of all was the advise he gave about future spouses. He said you should take them comping to see what kind of person they really are. It gives you an insight to how they handle things, and if they will w
I was so scared to take social statistics, but Reynolds made it easy and fun. Take it in the summer. Then it goes even quicker.

This Class was retarded. This professor never responded to emails, he also never recorded the homework, and returned it before the exam. So you never knew what you needed to work on. If I was the dean of this department, I would have fired him along time ago. Do not take from this professor.
Dr Reynolds is a pretty funny teacher. He makes sociology really easy but its WAY boring. Just make sure to do your study guide and you will pass every test with an A.
boring as ever...easy class but not a helpful professor. i'd find someone else unless you can learn well on your own
Dr. Reynolds is such a great guy! He is very kind and tries so hard! He is very willing to work with you and is great at explaining sociology and applying it to your own individual life. He sometimes has a hard time controlling stupid kids that act like they're still in highschool but he was wonderful.
He was a really nice guy and he taught the subject well but he would always go on tangents about nothing. Just study the study guide and ask questions about it and you will pass the class with a A. try to take the class with a friend to keep you occupied when he rambles on, but overal he was understanding and gave extra points on the tests. No fina
I agree with the comment about taking the class with a friend. Yes, it can be boring at times but Reynolds is a nice guy. He tends to grade on a scale.
Awesome awesome professor. Wasn't interested in the subject, but he made it fun and I learned a lot. His tests weren't too bad, and his grading was very fair. You could tell he really loved what he was teaching. Recommended!
This teacher in my opinion is terrible. He will often talk about useless topics/tangents for the whole hour. He is very boring. He will give out a test review and then give you the end of a class period to ask questions. However he really doesn't answer your questions he just dances around the answer. I would not recommend him as a teacher.
This teacher was ok... He wasn't the best at giving straight forwards answers and his reviews are kind of broad but a lot of the material comes from the book and if you ask a lot of questions about the review you'll be fine for the tests, and there's hardly any homework.
Good teacher, loves to talk and really gets into it and even out of class. He is very helpful. Make sure to study for his exams well though.
I took his online class and he is very slow at grading papers and giving feedback and his assignments feed upon each other. So you just have to hope you are doing the assignments correct. He graded the majority of the semesters assignments the last two weeks of class.
Dr Reynolds is a great professor he explains things very well and is always willing to help everyone understand. He does great reviewing for tests.
He is great at lecturing and his notes on the board match up with the tests. He only gives three test, fairly easy if you attend class. He also gives a review sheet before the tests.
Reynolds is a cool guy, but his teaching style gets old after about the second week. He runs off on so many tangents that it gets boring after awhile. He takes awhile to get grades posted, but overall it's a fairly easy class, but not the most interesting.
I took this class online. This professor does not respond to ANY postings, emails (rarely)and DOES NOT grade quickly. You will go the whole semester and not know how you are doing grade wise. Overall, an easy class, read the book, DO flashcards. Test questions come from review. And do article reviews which are like book reports but from articles.
I took Prof. Reynold's class online and found it pretty doable. There are only 3 exams, and 5 papers that are not hard to do. He gives study guides for the exams and if you study them you will do great on the tests. He's a little slow w/grades and emails but not bad. I highly suggest this professor.
He will work with you if you make the effort.
I took this as an online class. It was a pretty easy class with minimal work but lots of reading. If you read the text well and follow the exam question guides he gives, you should be able to get a great grade. He is a little slow at responding to emails and giving out grades, but overall would recommend him.
Prof. Reynolds is one of the best professors at WSU! He is kind and grades very fair. Take as many classes as you can from him - he doesn't disappoint! He is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic in his classes which make them easy to get into and participate in. Make sure to take this class from him - he knows his stuff!
Dr. Reynolds is one of the best teachers at Weber State. I was so scared to take Statistics, but he is such a good teacher and so helpful! I wish I could take more classes from him.
The online class is easy, but if you are a person who needs to get in touch with a professor do not take this from him. He does not post grades for a VERY long time and I have never received answers when I have sent him an email. If you want to take this class from him, do it on campus not online.
Pretty easy class but the professor is SO frustrating. He is not helpful and takes forever to respond to emails. Also he takes forever to grade and the deadlines aren't clear. The class is frustrating to plan for
This guy says um um um um, and and and and between his words for the whole hour, every class. His office looks like a junk yard with stacks and stacks of papers and junk. Big waste of time and money. The people who like him don't care if they learn anything, they just want a grade.
Dr. Reynolds is a great teacher. It's best that you catch him in person if you have a question or concern. We have to remember that people learn differently and Dr. Reynolds teaching style reflects that. He is a fair grader and an easy going guy. He expects you to read your material! What you learn from from it is your choice. Kim.
Dr Reynolds is extremely interested in ensuring that you understand the material he teaches. His relaxed approach to teaching statistics makes it easier to learn. He tells interesting stories about his visits to Germany which is a nice diversion from probabilty, dependent variables, and chi square. I learned a lot and recommend his stats class.
Honestly, this is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. I went to class every single time, did all my reading and assignments and still did poorly on the tests. His tests had NOTHING to do with anything that was said, read, or on an assignment. Take it from someone else. It could be such an interesting class!
Social statistics isn't very hard if you do the homework and study for the tests. You have an assignment each week. There are 3 tests. He's very friendly.
This class was stupidly easy, it might be a good idea to actually enjoy sociology to take this class because it could be seen as boring otherwise. If you actually spend 5 minutes on readings and attend class this class is unfailable
The class was easy, and very clear with expectations. The HUGE downfall is that he grades SUPER slow, I'm not sure I will ever know my grade. Tomorrow is the last day of the semester, and I have only received grades on 2 assignments from February, nothing else except exams have been graded. Exams come right off the study guide, so that is a plus!
He was straight forward and willing to work with me. Never met the guy, but his online course was great. I would take another class with him again. He does grade super slow but if you send reminder emails you'll roughly get a grade within 2 weeks. Also, tests come from study packets :-)
I love Dr. Reynolds! He has interesting stories (and yes, sometimes tangents) that help illustrate the topics covered in class. He's a very nice guy and easy to talk to if you ever need more clarity on a subject. As long as you go to class and keep up on your assignments, you'll be fine.
Boring teacher. Only half the class ever showed up, if that.Watched movies over half the time and were tested on them. Tests asked a lot about his opinion and weren't very easy but he gives you extra points on the test depending on how everyone did.
Dr. Reynolds spoke extensively on his personal life and did not lecture accurately what was said in the textbook. His exams did not cover what he "lectured" in class. Will not take from him again.
Oh Dr. Reynolds. He really is a great guy. Nice, mildly funny, interested in the subject but not very clear in lecture. I pegged him the first day as a rambler and I wasn't wrong. He makes the class very easy and you just need to read the chapters which aren't bad at all. If your not a patient person, don't take his class.
I absolutely loved this class. Dr. Reynolds is an amazing professor. He has extensive knowledge about Statistics and explains the concepts behind the math and doesn't expect you to just solve tons of problems. there was 10 assignments that were about 5 problems or less, and 3 exams. He is an excellent educator!
Dr. Reynolds was an absolute darling. He helped me over and over again because he knew I was sinking; he spent time in and out of class leading me through the work. I would NOT have passed this if it were any other teacher, I'm convinced of this. Beyond that, he's a genuinely nice guy.
I took this course online and it was a perfect course for generals. There were 5 essays on 5 different readings. There was also 5 discussions about these readings. He gives you the readings. Then there are 3 exams. Overall, it was pretty easy class. I just never spent the time on it enough to get an A. Definitely recommend this professor!
Very nice guy. Knows his stuff. I simply didn't understand it--and I DID try. He gave me every chance and the benefit of every doubt. I'll never take another Stats class in my life, but if I had to, I'd want it to be from Dr. Reynolds.
This professor gives entirely too many assignments for the semester. If you have a full load his class assignments and homework can become very annoying.
Really nice guy. Kinda rambles during lectures, and I probably wouldn't go if he didn't take attendance (only does to give us a grade boost at end of semester), and an occasional group project in class. Gives a study guide for test which is pretty much the questions on the test. Quizlet saved my butt for the study guides though ha.
Reynolds is a nice guy but I wasn't a huge fan of his teaching methods. I expected to participate a lot more- instead, the whole course was him lecturing and many times he would lose the interest of the class. His tests aren't bad, he gives you plenty of help with the study guides but some of his wording can be tricky.
Robert was a pretty good teacher. He tended to get off track during lectures, but he would usually get back on eventually. The tests are pretty much what is on the study guides, so if you do those and know those you are sure to pass.
Lectures seem to be all over the place and I never really knew what to study; but he is way nice!
He took forever to post grades. But if you do the work, you'll get a good grade.
I really like him. I have taken social stats and sociological research from him. He cares a lot about you doing well and is a very pleasant person. As a people person, I appreciated his humor, his stories from his personal life, and his respect for all opinions. I'll take any class he offers. He seems like he'd be at home in a hobbit hole. :)
Attendance is mandatory. If you don't go, you wont pass. Reading the text is a must. His lectures normally don't have anything to do with the tests, so be ready to read. He does give a study guide for each test. No homework, just pop quizzes that are worth half the grade and 3 exams worth the other half. Decent guy, just gets sidetracked easily.
He graded specifically on what he asks for and for my class grades were posted within a couple of days of when they were due. If you do the work you will get full credit. As for the tests. Fill out the study guides as you read the material. I think they are for an old book version but they will prep you for the tests.
Not a bad class online. Lots of reading, 5 papers 2-3 pages long, group discussions online and three tests. I think I would have taken more from the class if I went to a class. He was a very slow grader.
Lectures are boring and homeworks are ahead of his lectures, so you have read pretty much everything yourself.
I really like Dr. Reynolds! He is a super nice and funny, and he made the lectures fairly interesting, though he did get sidetracked pretty easy. he gives a study guide before each test, which i would HIGHLY recommend doing. the pop quizzes are easy, even if you're behind on reading. tests are based mainly on the book, not his lectures.
Attendance is mandatory in this class in order to pass. The lectures do not really cover very much of the material that is on the tests so you will have to do some reading. Not my favorite professor but not a bad class for an introductory course.
This is the third course that I have taken with Dr. Reynolds and I absolutely adore him. As long as you go to class you will easily pass. I didn't open the textbook once for the SOC Stats course because he taught us everything we would need in class. He is funny, caring, and easy to work with. Homework and exams aren't hard. Would recommend to all.
No warning on assignments, so make sure you keep up and are on time for class. Reynolds is one of the best profs for this subject. He's understanding if you have an issue but make sure you speak up. I didn't read chapters - he posts outlines on canvas, use the study guide. Class is engaging, and he has no clear bias on most things like others.
Dr. Reynolds is great, but his lectures don't really cover what's on the test so you have to read the textbook. He takes attendance every day as part of your grade. He's a really nice man and easy to work with. Few assignments, and tests aren't too difficult. Also offers extra credit.
Dr. Reynolds was a reasonable professor. Hope you enjoy reading! Assignments were papers based-on your reading of chapters assigned. Tests were multiple choice and a mediocre Study Guide was provided (kind of confusing unless you knew EXACT answers).
Dr. Reynolds is not someone I would take a class from again. He does lectures in class and they usually have nothing to do with what is one the test. He hands out study guides before the tests and if you can get those answers right, it is usually the same questions on the test. I would suggest reading the book, it will help tons!
Professor Reynolds made taking Sociology in the summer somewhat bearable, and I actually enjoyed it for the most part! The assignments are typically easy, and if you do the study guides correctly, it's copy and pasted from the final exam, so honestly, pretty dang easy. He always responded quickly and was very lenient on late work. Great guy!
His lectures didn't really teach me anything. I wish he would teach in an outlined manner to make sure material is taught and understood. By far my worst class this semester. He's a pretty decent person.
Professor Reynolds is a great guy! Really cares about his students and will take the time to talk to you outside of class about any questions you may have. Most of the homework in this class is reading, so if you don't do the reading you probably won't do good on the tests. But if you do the reading the class isn't hard. Overall super nice guy.
Easy A! Super nice guy. Very easy going. And I learned something!
Rob is a nice guy and pretty good at keeping class somewhat interesting. However, I didn't feel like he went over what was on the test at all. If you want to do good make sure you are reading. Being in class matters with him, because most of the assignments are in class.
Took the online 1010 course. Major mistake; there was absolutely no structure to the course, more than usual for an online course. He's a nice guy, but don't take the online course! Assignments had nothing to do with the huge exams he would randomly post throughout the semester. Very few assignments to counteract mistakes on the heavy exams. Avoid!
Absolutely take Dr. Reynold's for social statistics! You won't need the textbooks as long as you attend class regularly and ask questions. He goes over everything you need to know. If you ever fall behind or need help, he is always more than happy to meet with you! He also brings in bagels whenever there is a test!
easiest class ever! received full credit on all assignments and the tests followed exact to the study guide! 10/10 recommend.
Rob is great! I'm not a huge fan of sociology and online felt like the way to go with it and I'm glad I did. You have 1 weekly assignment 3 exams in the semester (noncumulative). The assignments you can get by with minimal reading, but have to search more for the exams. He gives awesome study guides for the exams, you know exactly whats on the test
Boring professor who gets off topic during his lectures. Easy class
Really easy class, but the lectures werent really useful. The book is all you need to pass exams. Exams are really easy
I really was interested in a Sociology of Globalization and was excited to take this class. Didn't get a lot out of it. Neither text was really necessary at the end of the day. Definitely a smart guy, super nice and funny but not his field of expertise, nor did he seem that interested. Was pretty disorganized. Easiest essay grader I have ever had.
Professor Reynolds is a good guy and I would take him again. His tests are EXACTLY like the reviews which is very nice. He's pretty easy going but at times I would get bored in his class. There were days where I felt like I would learn in his class but most days no one payed attention. Do your best to read.
I thought stats would be horrible, but Reynolds made the subject very accessible! He explains not only how to do the math, but the concept that makes stats meaningful and memorable. His text book choices were great! My friend took the same class at the U, and I ended up teaching her many things her teacher didn't explain nearly as well as Reynolds.
Amazing professor. Only had 3 tests, all of which are exactly like the study guides given. There are some in class assignments and online assignments, but overall are very easy. Attendance is mandatory, and he never/rarely uses power points. He gives an opportunity for a little extra credit.
There were 10 assignments, 2 tests and 1 final. He explains everything you need to know and he's very knowledgeable. He is also willing to work with you outside of class. Must attend class to understand material. Also the books in this course help a lot with the material.
Took for upper division credit and I really enjoyed this class/professor. Just 3 exams throughout the whole class and plenty of extra credit opportunities. There are some assignments but they're not too bad, plus they provide a buffer for your grade. Highly recommend.
Focuses on coursework, but also places a heavy emphasis on "thinking like a sociologist" and applying the material learned in real world situations. Very knowledgeable about the subject material, and genuinely cares about how students do in his class.
Dr. Reynolds is a great lecturer. I enjoyed every day in class. He made statistics accessible to the math-phobic.
Easy class, but learned lots. There are 3 exams, which follow the study guide. The assignments kind of suck, they primarily consist of writing 1 page essays- mind you it is an online soci class. If you manage to fall below an "A" he offers extra credit. I'm sure he's a cool guy, but I had literally zero interaction with him because I took it online
Rob is such an easy teacher, he literally doesn't give a flying duck. bi-weekly assignments, easy criterium, don't forget a work cited. Tests confusing but thanks to COVID-19 online resources are a +. Fill out the study guides if you can find them and read the book, but not necessary.
He was really good to work with the assignments and quizzes were super easy would recommend him!
3 Tests, he gives you all the questions beforehand. 10 Papers that are fun to write if you are interested in the topics. An easy A if you show you are putting in some kind of effort. He gave me extra time for an assignment when I had some things going on with my family and was super understanding. He is passionate about his job and is really nice!
Easiest class Ive ever taken. Take the class online and get the ebook. Easy A. There are several writing assignments that can be done by skimming over the material and doing a free write adding in some vocabulary from the reading. The tests are easy as long as you put in the time to do the study guide.
I was so afraid of stats because everyone says it's terrible but Dr. Reynolds makes it so easy to understand. He walks the class through the homework before it's due. He also allows re-dos if you get a bad score. The exams are open book! If you are worried about stats take it from Dr. Reynolds! ( FYI: we didn't use the textbook so don't buy it).
Taken online in 2020 lockdown. Had about 10, 2 page papers to write on pretty interesting topics. and 3 Exams. Not very hard at all. He gives plenty of time to do assignments. Really nice dude and he seems to care a lot. Highly recommend.
Easy A - Great General Ed Class. No Finals and everything open book/note. Easy quizzes if you read through the material once. Easy essays each week.
I enjoyed this class, it was mainly lectures and note taking. He's pretty funny. The homework for the class was an assignment every week, as well as quizzes, you can find the answers to the quizzes on Quizlet. It says you need to get a textbook, but he provides it online. Don't buy it at the bookshop, I didn't use it. He had Zoom if you got sick.
Did other homework and assignments during these lectures and didn't really learn much from the actual class. Ctrl "F" granted me 100% for quizzes and as long as you put in a good amount of effort you will get a good grade on your writing assignments which are usually given about once a week. Little boring. Brought up LDS stuff a LOT! Not my thing.
This class was really easy and great! If you pay attention and find interest in society this is the perfect class for you. The professor was very understanding and kind. I would definitely take this class again. Thank you
Super nice, helpful, wants you to succeed. Tells fun stories and very down-to-earth person. Makes hard things seem really easy. I took another Environmental Soc class that was awesome and pretty easy. Not a tough grader. Do what you are supposed to, come prepared, get an A.
One of the easiest classes I've ever taken. There are quizzes every week and also short essays to finish. Not hard if you're at all interested in the material. Professor Reynolds tells interesting stories during class which can also help you put the material into perspective better although sometimes it can get kind of boring. Overall great class!
I was genuinely excited to take this class but half-way through the semester it realized this professor have very un-inclusive views. If you are going to teach a class, make sure you teach both sides. I wrote a paper about social status and was knocked down points because I did not specify my own wage range. Would not take this professor again.
He cared about your success; however, he is probably the most boring teacher I have ever had. About half way through the semester I gave up going to class and I still passed with a good grade. Class is not mandatory, and it was a really easy class. Because I thought I was going to die of boredom, I won't take a class from him again.
The online class is set up in a really good way. It is everything you would hope an intro class should be. Relatively easy, skill building, and an introduction to a subject. This class was online, so I can't speak to whether or not he is boring, however, if you are just trying to get that SS and EDI credit over with, this is a great class.
Very nice professor. Very understanding. Assignments take no longer than 30 minutes if given an assignment.
I really liked Dr. Reynolds. You can tell he is very knowledgeable. He knows SO MUCH. You have to write a few papers, but not bad at all. I would recommend him for sure.
This is a great class. There's one or two chapter quizzes from the textbook every week and you have to write a 2-3 page paper every so often. The class is super easy and Professor Reynolds seems to really care about what he teaches.
This class was pretty easy! Lots of textbook reading, quizzes to take, and assignments once a week. The assignments were usually 2-page papers about how the subject relates to your life so pretty simple. Honestly, I kinda forgot I was taking this class at times because I would get my work done once a week! The professor is super reachable too!
Mr. Reynolds seems to be a relaxed professor. Canvas is easy to use. Expectations were not always clear and there was no rubric, so I found myself questioning assignments quite often. He was a late grader & didn't grade until week 7. Coursework is manageable. He comments on all assignments. The textbook is free online. The content is interesting.
Not too hard of a class but you won't learn a whole lot.
Professor Reynolds is my favorite Sociology teacher at WSU! I enjoyed our face-to-face religion class, it was fun and engaging. We "had" to go to 3 different religious practices outside of our known religion, as a group or individually. This was extremely eye-opening and important, especially for someone who grew up in Utah.
A straightforward class with weekly quizzes and essays. Professor Reynolds keeps things interesting, though the material can get a bit dry at times. unstuckstudy was a big help for quiz prep.
The hardest thing abt this class is the weekly assignment, but if you answer every question he wants you to answer, even if your writing skills or understanding of sociology are not that great, you can get the A.
