He was an awesome teacher. Very knowlegable, easy to talk to and very fair. I learned more about biology in his class than in any other before.

Sweet guy, will answer any qustion you may have. Use to work at a children hospital doing research, so is very up to date. Very helpful if you ask and never makes you feel dumb. Take him if you are interested in learning.

Very nice, approachable.I am not good at Biology, so can't say it was easy,but he did a great job with the lectures and answering any questions anyone had. Another plus is that his lectures are online,so you don't have to take a lot of notes. Expect to study to get a good grade.There are lab exams as well as lecture exams. Very fair grading though!

I would definitely recommend him to anyone. The subject matter takes effort to study but he is so sweet and makes it as easy and understandable to everyone as he can. He is very intelligent and knows his stuff--I learned so much in his class and I'm so glad I took it. Take his class and you'll be happy.

I highly recommend Prof. Rosteck. The lab usually ends early, unlike lecture, but he posts the notes online so you aren't lost if you miss a lecture. His specific study guides make the already simple tests even easier! Funny guy as well. DO IT.

Lectures were fun, he really emplians what hes talking about and helps relate it to everyday life. test were not hard if you studied and questions came right out of notes and worksheets. Lab was a blast and he was really helpful to those that needed it... take his class! you'll learn a lot!

He's a really nice teacher. All his notes are available online so no need to buy the textbook because all his test come almost directly from his notes and he gives you study guides for the test. As long as you go to class and lab you're pretty much for sure an A.

By far one of the best teachers at COD. Makes it as easy as humanly possible to learn and understand the material. Just a topnotch students professor. Funny also. Book not required, tests are lengthy but manageable. Labs are a breeze. Need help, seek him out he is available. Need a science can't go wrong with Rosteck. Just study and don't be lazy.

The easiest class I have ever had. He provides all the info for test in the powerpoints, provides outlines for notes, post everything on blackboard in a prompt manner. Short of taking the test for you he provides all the tools to ace the course. The labs were even fun. A very enjoyable class even for someone who hates bio as much as i do.

This teacher makes the class interesting. He challenges students to think. He is realistic and is a common sense kind of teacher. He always offers to the entire class the fact that he will be happy to help. He is aware we are all not going to work in the field of biology. That is why you got a "C" negtive nellie.

Rosteck is a really good teacher. He puts outlines and his powerpoints on blackboard for you. He teaches the material very clearly while making it fun. He knows your not going to understand the material right away so he tries to help you as much as possible.

Prof Rosteck loves Biology and is a great professor. Teaches step by step and is very organized, approachable and very helpful. Power Points are very consistent with the lectures and helpful for the exams! The text isn't for the class isn't mandatory but it's up to you. This was a great class.

One of the best professors i have ever had. if you go everyday and study a little like your suppose to you'll pass the class no problem. If you don't study don't show up and expect to pass you won't its a tough course but not extremely hard. He also gives you all the tolls you need to pass the class and he is pretty funny

Professor Rosteck is a great teacher. He loves the subject & has plenty of experience in the field and in the classroom. He does everything he can to help you pass. But you do have to work for it. And he expects you to as any good teacher should. He's also funny and disarming and really cares about his students.

do not buy the book for this class. only get the lab manual, which is also used for bio 5. everything you need to know he makes into awesome power point slides and he even makes a hand out for notes for each chapter. dont cram for tests, it doesnt work, instead spend the time to study. he is great!!

Rosteck is a really cool guy, willing to help out when you're confused. He doesn't throw any surprises at you, go to class + lab, do some studying for quizzes/exams, ask questions if you don't get it and you're good, pretty straightforward! I did fine without the textbook, but you'll need the lab workbook.

Prof. Rosteck is clear about what material to study. The exams, however, include a number of questions that involve more detail than was covered in lecture. To garner an "A," one will have to attend every lecture, read the text - including the practice questions - and use flash cards to memorize the vast lexicon.

Passionate teacher. Have takin quite a few science classes, I can say he is the best science professor that I have takin. Definitely recommend if you are planning on majoring in bio. Very energetic and cares for his students. Tests are straight forward. Attend lecture and ask questions and you'll pass. Definitely recommend.

After struggling with Bio greatly in high school, I took Rosteck's BIO 4 class over the summer and came through with an A. The lectures are perfectly laid out for you to study and build off. No book was necessary because of his lectures and notes. The tests are challenging but he provides a study guide that allows you to get the grade you deserve.

A fine educator and person. Lectures are clear and he makes note taking easy by posting the lecture Power Points online prior to the actual lecture. Really conveys the importance of biology to understanding the world. Labs are too short - not his fault - so he is obliged to rush through some lab material.

wish i had more space to say how good he is the lectures can get a little dry especially if taken for a morning class. great prof dry adorable sense of humor helped a friend who was having a hard time with test. the study guides are great and if you just go through and check everything off you for sure get an a on the test highly recommend

I have taken him for Bio 006 and he was great. Now he's teaching Biology of Mammals and he is doing an excellent job! He's great at giving you ways to help you remember the material. He gives outlines for lectures and study guides for tests. Make sure you attend class and lab because anytime you miss a class or lab, you miss a lot of information.

Give you all you need. Very patient and cares about his students. Open for office hours and is willing to do whatever to help you pass.

Take his lecture and lab together. The lectures help with the labs when its fresh in your brain! His tests are tough. He gives study guides (you have to print) and gives you the answers first thing in class. You have to study or you wont pass. Miss one day and you miss a whole chapter! Rosteck's the coolest professor you'll have. He's clear and will elaborate if you have any questions on anything. He has outlines for all of his lectures and posts all of his powerpoints before all of his tests. Plus, he's really cool to just have a conversation with. I really really recommend his class!

He is an amazing professor! Homework isn't given, just be sure to take good notes from the power-points with the outlines he already gives us (helpful!). For the exam and quiz study guides, write the material you'll need to know down the day before to retain the information! Lab quizzes are easy as long as you study the day before and morning of.

If you you have to take Biology, take it with professor Rosteck. He is really nice, and funny too. He understands that most people in the class are not biology majors, therefor he makes it as simple as he can. Attend the lectures, and labs, and put in the time to study for the quizzes, and exams and you will be fine.

Best professor I've had at COD. Very thorough. His study guides and outlines are key to getting A's on the lecture exams. Study a few days prior and you're good. Lectures were good. Best professor in COD! The lab is new but he did his best and I learned alot. We did have a quizzes every class meeting but it was super easy and worth 5pts each. We did got to dissect a rat and saw many skulls of different mammals. He should be getting more skulls for the next semester and have a lab workbook. He really cares about his students!

He is my favorite teacher at COD. Took him for bio4, 6, and 7. He does a good job of explaining the material. If you study the power points and go over the study guide you will be fine. If you need help go to his office hours. He is very helpful and friendly. Also his labs are really fun and easy.

Professor Rosteck is a great professor. He teaches Biology so anyone can understand it, great for nonmajors. All of his powerpoints and study guides are all on the tests. He doesn't use Canvas to post grades, but just ask him. He is helpful and responds back to his emails fast if you have ?'s . If you need Bio 4, he's the one to take.

He is a great professor because he is well organized and provides you with everything you need to get a good grade. He enjoys what he teaches and he wants you to do well. Class is all definitions and concepts, so there is a lot to memorize. Writing everything down from the study guides and reviewing and memorizing is key. Study groups also great.

I did well on lab exams but not lab quizzes or lecture tests. My own fault, I only used his powerpoints and the test questions to practice. The exams are much more, study way ahead of time. He is a nice guy, makes it easy to understand. But I'm a visual learner, so labs are great for me but not taking tests. Lots of questions! Study study study

Elements of Bio isnt hard. But the exams are worth a lot of points. Dont rely on only the study guides and study every day. The first 2 lecture tests are the hardest, he knows students dont do well on those. Lab is fun and fairly easy to pass if you do the work. He creates powerpoints with all the info. Not hard to fail, not hard to pass. Show up!

Professor Rosteck is kind, helpful, and truly wants every student to succeed. All the lecture exams are based off his powerpoints, and he also gives study guides + practice questions. Robert is a great teacher. He is very caring, nice, and patient. This class was not easy but not extremely difficult either. You don't need the textbook as everything you need to know is on his slides. He gave helpful study guides. Overall, this class consisted 7 exams that obtained many questions. Lab quizzes were kind of easy. No extra credit.

Professor Rostock is awesome! Hands down so easy to follow his lectures. His exams are easy if you study for them in advance. Do not let time fly. He is always there for his students making sure he is answering everyones questions and concerns. Im really not a biology person and he made the class fun interesting and easy!

I took his Biology of Mammals class and loved it. I took the class fully online and it was easy to access everything. He posts lecture slides and videos that are super good to study from. The tests are very similar so if you study, you'll definitely get a good grade. He makes the class really interesting and I would definitely take him again.

Professor Rosteck is a real gem! He truly wants you to pass his class and is completely understanding. His course does involve a lot of reading but as long as you respond the discussion posts and take your quizzes and lab quizzes you'll easily can pass his class.

This class was awesome. He lectured very well and his labs were great. VERY EASY TO PASS if you study. We had an exam about every two weeks (either lab or lecture). The final wasn't a comprehension, it was a basic test. He gives out extra credit on the lab exams. He's very caring and tries his hardest to help you.

Super sweet and nice professor! Lots of writing but easy writing. Discussion posts require the bare min. of research to get high grade. The creative writing assignments are fun to do as well, takes a bit longer to get the correct research but doesn't take long and you don't need to be too formal. Exams are lengthly but everything is on the slides
