Loved the class.. didnt have any tests.. an occasional quiz, squeezes on mondays, and had to give 6 group presentions in stead of tests and other things like that
Dr. Schunker doesn't teach the class. He doesn't read your papers and you have to spend more time then it's worth on them. He also does not give + or - grades which can screw up your GPA.
If you don't like tests and prefer to write papers take his class if not avoid at all costs it is a pretty easy B but a very hard A
Somewhat unfair, impossible to get an A with a quality paper. Be in class to learn, not for the grade. Speaking of Colonel Sanders...
Very straight-laced. Expects perfection on written work. One of these guys who remembers everything he ever read about history. Rants.
This class isn't difficult, But it's a lot of outside-of-class work. He expects 6 reports on campus events, 6 group reports (check your pronunciation and spelling!), and pretty easy (open-book!) quizzes. Make sure your papers are grammatically perfect.
I am in the class right now and we have 6 outside activity reports which are not prob. 10/10 and FOUR (not 6) group presentations with a report on your topic. If you don't like tests and like a down home prof. take Schnuker. And PS- 8+ pgs = A
This is relatively easy, but Schnucker lets the class grade half of the presentations and class gives bad grades for some reason. But if you like writing papers this is your class.
He needs to retire. He doesn't have tests, but you have to write a LOT of papers. Don't take humanities with him. It's not worth your time.
No tests, you have to write a lot of papers but they aren't bad, you have to give group presentations where the class grades you and that kind of sucks, you sometimes have quizzes on mondays but they aren't too bad, overall-the class is okay
He is so cute with his bow ties and chops!!!
I really liked his style of teaching. I am not a good test taker so I thought that papers and presentations were a great alternative. It really wasn't that hard to get an A as some people seem to think. If you goto class and do your work an A is easy.
i think he is pretty easy. Kinda a lot of papers but they aren't hard at all! Not tests, just open book quizzes! Bonus points given for attending class
Easy to get a B, but you can only get an A if you have a good group. Also, the format of the class is stupid and he puts in very little effort.

relatively easy but i didnt pay all this tuition to have my fellow students teach me. you are taught not by the professor, but rather by group presentations by other students. by the way bowties suck
oh schnucker, it really sucks when your group leader is domineering and doesn't let you contribute, b/c then you end up with a D like I did, so I would advise you to do well on all your other assignments, like the easy open book quizzes
What a cute oldman, but not a good class. The group presentations suck-too much info. and too little time. Lots of paper writing-use lots of sources or else.
No test, just group presentations and you have to read a book for the class and do a paper on there. Pretty nice guy, but can embarrass your group if you say a date wrong or give wrong info during your presentation.
If you don't like tests or a lot of reading, he's the prof to have. Your grade is based on writing small papers and doing group presentations. I got an A+ in the class because my group had fun w/ our presentations - did plays, newscasts, etc.
Class consists of group presentations, papers, midterm paper, and quizes. HE doesn't teach the class, YOU do. But it's nice for those of us who aren't history buffs. If you are careful not to present incorrect information/misspell words on your power point, you'll be fine! EASY CLASS!!
If you don't like remembering dates/names/places or taking tests... he's your man! Grade is based on in class quizzes, papers and group presentations (make sure you have fun in your group and do more than powerpoint presentations... videos almost always get the best grades!!!)
no tests, just a quiz every monday where you get the questions ahead of time, a book report that is really easy, group presentations kinda suck cause its hard to get 5 or more people together to work on it, he can be a jerk, the class isnt too bad, if you write a lot, youll do well in his class
I love the bow ties, but I don't like the way the class is taught. I didn't pay $10,000 to be taught by students and that's how his class is taught. Altough I do like how there are no test. That's the only plus in the class.
dont ever have to memorize anything. 3 group presentations, a quiz every monday that he gives the ?'s to. 6 outside activities. i.e. lectures, plays, music shows. also 3/4 papers, but not one single test.
Great professor. 3 Presentations, Outside Papers, Monday papers, but gives you questions wednesday before and you just look up information, write 1-2 page paper in class monday. Easy to get a C in, you have to try to get an A, B is fairly easy to get as well if you show a little extra effort.
He was good about having our grades ready He was helpful when I asked him questions.
No tests, only presentations and papers every other week. Yes you are essentially taught by your peers, but i found that i remember more from the class because of the change of pace, some students had excellent presentations and i remember alot of information from them, as well as my own stuff.
Dr. Schnucker is the man. The different bowties he wears everyday are great. 3 Group Presentations that are easy, quizes you get ?s 2 before you take it, easy bookreport and biography, 6 outside activities and the final is extra credit i loved this class!
ok, seriously, this guy doesnt do anything. Im assuming hes tenured, otherwise theyd make him teach his own class. Instead, you do a bunch of group presentations, and hope that your peers know what they're talking about. If it wasn't for the funny bowties I'd probably have punched this guy.
He does NOTHING...everything is busy work, but it is very easy. No tests, but lots of writing. He is very smart and knows everything, but don't ever say anything wrong in front of class cuz he'll call you on it infront of everyone! Get extra-credit is you go to every class
Easy class if you like to give presentations. Great professor, he is a great guy to have a conversation with.
Schnucker is a great guy and will help you with any questions you have. He doesn't teach anything though. Listen to classmates presentations the whole time. Question on Mondays he gives it beforehand. Outsided activities take time. NO TEST DONT HAVE TO MEMORIZE!!! :)
You have groups which is easier. Try hard on papers, write more than the minimum. Write for as long as possible and use examples from the book on squeeze questions. never read the book, or go to class presentation days and you will get an A. He is very understanding if you go see him during hours.
class points come from weekly squeezes, six on campus activities reviews, three group presentations & three papers over your group presentations. He doesn’t read any of your papers he just grades them according to length. You dont learn very much and Schnucker isnt very helpful but its an easy B.
if you hate tests and like workin on presentations and papers that are really easy then this class is for you! its also only on mon and wed. so thats always a plus! i loved it and got a solid a just do your assignments and its fine

As long as you put an effort into making the presentations better and you turn in all your papers.....you will easily get an A in the class. Oh yeah and don't skip class!!! He keeps track and will use that to help determine your grade. Overall he's a funny
he is a funny old man. his class is pretty much based on taking squeeze's (that is what he calls a quiz) and group presentations that involve a three page essay from each person
Really cool professor. THis is by far one of the easiest classes ive had at UNI.
Easy Monday Wensday class. Grades papers by length, allthough you do get the occasional comment on your paper, so I dont know might scan the papers. Only hard part is going to 6 after school activities and wrtiting papers on them.
Out of class work is no fun, but all in all he is a very easy teacher and no final
just talk to him and let him know u care about the grade u get and that u're making an effort. i went fron a C to a solid A. no final:) but u have to write easy papers. it's a must take class ....if u want an A.
He's a pretty funny guy...always wears a bowtie and sneakers. The work is mostly outside of class, but don't underestimate the time it takes to complete paper and activies.
i didn't like his class all that much. it was all presentations and you were graded on other members performances as well as your own. i also tried to take his final, he was a real dick about it because he said there was no way i could raise my grade and told me to get out. don't take him.
If you don't like taking tests, but not mind taking papers; I would suggest taking Schnucker. Attend events kind of sucks, but use your time wisely!
Not too bad. Just need to pay attention do detail
He is a very good teacher but it can be difficult to get an A because his grading scale starts an A at a 92%. The class is all presentations basically so you will have to be able to have some speaking skills.. He is a good guy though and the final isn't required! Also do the book report for the midterm instead of the test!
Easy class to get a B in. Has a quiz every week but he gives u the possible questions so you can prepare for them and use your notes. He does not give tests. However, you have to read a book for midterm and write a paper. You also have to give 3 group presentations. You get out early every class.
He IS AWESOME! Not only does he have the cutest little bow tie ever, but he gives studends EVERY opportuntity in the world to get an A+ in his class. Final opptional=COMMON thats a dead give away! Anywho, he's great!! One of my favorite class's for sure!!
AMAZING CLASS!! He is so much fun and there are really no tests. You have a "squeeze" every monday but he gives you the questions ahead of time and it is open book and notes. You do give 3 presentations but they are group presentations and are pretty easy!! I am taking my second humanities with him. Kinda hard to get an A but its an easy B!
A lot of work, but an easy class. Pretty funny guy, wears a bowtie. Group presentations are pretty easy, do out of class experience things early in the semester. Overall, I'd suggest it.
There are no tests or quizzes in this class only "squeezes". He will give you a quiz question on wednesdays and you have till monday until you have to answer it in class. Its pretty easy since you can bring anything to class to help you answer it. You should be prepared to write papers, and attend 5 events on campus (sorry non sporting events)
Easiest humanities class out there! Grades most papers, even squeezes, by length.. Activities and presentations are time cosuming but better then tests. No final, unless you WANT to take it but it doesnt really help your grade. Cute little old man with a bowtie :)
this is an easy class if you show up for your group presentations and squeezes (quizzes) each week... no tests and he gives the squeeze questions in advance so you can prepare for them... pretty helpful, but lectures are BORING!
A great guy but a horrible class. He's funny and interesting, too bad he doesn't teach. He makes the class do projects, and they give presentations, which is disastrous. If I wanted to teach myself, I wouldn't have paid to take the class. This is saved only by the fact that it is moderately easy.
Schnucker is a great prof. He really knows what he is talking about. There is a lot of work involved in the class, but it is easy. Talk to him, he's a great guy and always willing to help!
I love Schnucker! He was the bomb for class. Their are no test just papers to write so if you dont like to write papers do not take his class. I found the papers easy to write. You do not have to go to class. Best Humanities Class!
Something like 40% of you grade comes from the group presentations. Part of that40% is determined by how well the rest of the class liked you presentation. you don't pick your group either, so you will get at least a couple who don't care about the class or the grade. If you are looking for a good, easy humanities professor, take john higdon.
No tests!!!
Good teacher but just my type of teaching
Bow ties everyday! Very smart guy! No test, just papers. Pretty easy if you like to write. 3 group presentations so make sure to pick a topic you like because you are STUCK with it and your group the entire time. I picked music...good cuz no one else had things like it but tough cuz nothing to research that early in history.
are no tests. although you write a lot of papers and have 3 group presentations. for midterm can write a book report or take a test, DO NOT take the test!!! easy to pass. and you dont really have to go to class if you have a friend in there helping u out. i suggest take this class with him!! plus he wears a bow tie every day! :)
Hes awesome!
The class itself could be boring, but if you really listen to his lectures, he's pretty funny sometimes. Also, no tests, and if you get put in a good group for your three group presentations (a bit of side advice, think of these in advance, it makes life less stressful later) you should do just fine grade wise in the class.
Class is way easy just a bunch of papers. Never any tests just 3 presentations through the whole semester.
humanities was a good class. it was mostly just reading, and squeezes, which are little test that you can do with all your notes. the presentations are easy, but don't put them off. the best part is you do not have to take the final! plus he's a pretty funny guy!
This class is pretty easy, no tests just quizes and he gives the questions to you ahead of time! It is quite a few papers but most are short and under five pages. he is a fun guy to listen to.. i am taking him for the second time this semester!
Don't like the idea of classmates determining my grade (classmates rate your presentations on a 1-10 scale). When I talked with him on one occasion about a specific topic for my assignment, he laughed at me in a condescending manner in front of others. I didn't care for the format of his class.
way too much busy work. lectures have almost nothing to do with the reading. he is very intimidating and not helpful at all, can be rude.
He is VERY intimidating, but not that hard, really. You have a squeeze (mini-essay quiz) every week, but he tells you the questions ahead of time. Presentations are not that hard as long as you get good people in your group. He's definitely the easiest of all the Humanities teachers. I took him for both Humanities I and III
Absolutly awesome. Easiest teacher I've ever had. You present once every couple weeks where you can just read off a note card. You do have weekly "squeezes" but he gives you the question a week in advance. He knows everything, and as long as your not the one getting made fun of in front of the class he's a pretty funny guy. Easy A.
cute old man!! 3 papers with 3 presentations, weekly squeezes, need to book. no tests. can make stuff up. easy class.
this class is EASY! its a lot of busy work (typing 1 paper every wk) but there are no tests! The papers are easy to get 100% on cuz come strait from the book. There are 3 presentations, which are easy if you actually make it fun and choose an interesting topic. I totally recommend taking this class... easy A. :)
This class was an easy class. You do need to use the book unless you can pull BS out of your head. He does stick to his syllabus. He is an easy A, but make sure you get good group members. I got a 98% for overall grade and thanks to their attitudes I got an A-. He won't even speak to you in person if you have issues with his judgment.
Easy to follow lectures, and essay questions are given in advance. Beyond the essays, one book report is due, but that's easy as well. I'd definitely take Schnucker again.
I don't feel i learned much because he doesn't really lecture material. Students give presentations which is basically whats teaching the class. The squeezes are annoying. He stereotypes all college kids thinking they all hate learning from a teacher and don't care about school. However, he is a very enlightining prof. squeeze=annoying, papers=ea
Easy and awesome! Just do well on the book report and youre golden
really "cute" guy, easy to pass and get a good grade, final is optional and i kind miss his bow ties!
by far my FAVORITE teacher at uni. he's soo friggin funny and cute. all you have to do is the easy papers and you're golden. no tests. and at the end when he answers you're questions he's HILARIOUS! (just make sure your phone's don't go off in class.. or that he see's them.)
Awesome prof! This is my favorite professor this year. No tests so group presentations and weekly essay questions take up the load.
BY FAR MY BEST TEACHER EVER!
Has ups and downs. If you don't like tests take him. Don't have to listen to his lectures. Knows what he's talking about, if you don't he will laugh in your face. Likes to randomly pick people during lecture to answer questions. These people tend to be in the front and the same ones everytime, Trust me.
Awesome teacher and easy!
this class is very easy. no tests. a small paper every week and three presentations. sometimes quizes over the presentation. he's very nice and always glad to help. my favourite professor!
Schnucker isn't a very tough teacher. The class itself can be dull. 3 group presentations w/a 3-5 pg essay w/each and a book review. Memorize what you want to say during your presentation..he doesn't like readers! Turn off the phone, he'll rip you a new one! Take it for an easy B/A
Its difficult to get an A based on his grading scale but a B is simple. There is no final but you have a short paper to write every week with 3 group presentations over the semester. You also have to turn in a Mid-Term book report and 5 short papers based on humanity-related activities outside of class. Don?t procrastinate on these. Take him!
Not a very nice teacher. Kind of mean to students for no reason.
Interesting guy... loves to teach and love the humanities. Easy to get a B in the class and I would def recommend taking him at least once. Every week 1 page paper due tuesday, and group presentations on Thur. 3 group presentations total.
If you don't like to present you will have to in front of 200 people 3 group presentations. The class is a lot of work and he grades based on quantity but no tests though. It wasn't my cup of tea because I would rather take tests instead do many papers.
The class is based on group projects so it helps to get a good group. He did a good job of explainning his expectations.
Super easy! Just do a good job on presentations and midterm
Pretty easy class, no tests only 3 group presentations and a short essay due once a week. I would highly recommend taking this class.
This man is not offering a college-level class, and students who think that an easy class is great are going to feel differently when they get out in the work world and realize that they wasted their tuition on this guy. The real world is hard work.
There are no tests, so just kick back in your chair and listen to the genius Dr. Schnucker speak.
I love Schnukie! He is a genius! No tests, only group projects, which aren't bad at all. His class in interesting and he loves to talk about sex. Schnukie's take home quizs are easy as well. Easily the best humanities professor!
Prof almost failed me b/c he "forgot" about my midterm paper which is worth almost all of your grade apparently. Did A+ work all semester and got a C because he is senile.
Do not take it with him. It may seem easy because there aren't any tests, but it's not really. You constantly have papers due and they are usually more than a page. He is rude, unfair, and inconsiderate.
At first I thought I made a mistake taking this class, but I absolutely disagree about the class being useless. His lectures are extremely interesting, his squeezes are relevant to the class, and the group presentations CAN be really fun. He's abrasive, but he is extremely intelligent and I love the class now.
There are no tests but you have to write papers ALL THE TIME! One paper is due every week plus a midterm paper, three papers over presentations and five papers over out of class events that you have to go to. If you do the work you'll be fine.
There are no tests in this class, just a bunch of papers and presentations. It's a pretty easy class as long as you have good group members.
Class is easy but there is a paper due every week, as well as a presentation every 2-3 weeks. Does not help people. Mandatory out of class events (5) and papers to follow. Humanities III
The teacher goes only of exams. If you are not good at exams you will not pass this class. Although everything is multiple choice if you are not willing to read all ten books do not take the class with him. He only cares about giving the information and does not care if you obtaining it.
