The professors are instructed to use a reverse teaching formula, where you have to watch videos and teach yourself. I pay money to get taught not to teach my self!! Scroggin is good at math stuff but has a hard time relating/connecting with students who don't get the videos and he doesn't seem committed to his students success. DO NOT TAKE HIM!

Scroggin teaches you nothing. He takes attendance so you have to go to class but all he does is babysit you while you get groupwork. He doesn't want you to email him and he could careless about your problems.

Didn't answer e-mails, didn't teach, didn't explain a single thing. All class work was done through mystatlab.

His teaching is so confusing, you should ask your buddies if you have questions. Group work didn't look like related to the class material, the only thing you have to care is mylabplus.

funny and nice guy but i really had a bad experience with this class. he does not teach well and the tests are completely foreign compared to the homework. all we do is group work during actual class time and no one ever understands what is going on.

I wouldn't even consider him a teacher. We did nothing is class. He gave us instructional videos that only showed us how to use our calculators. Class time was for doing homework. He was terrible about answering questions and giving assistance. If you have to take this class make sure not to take him.

Don't take Finite Math with this guy. While initially I liked him because he lets class go early almost every day, it ended up hurting me in the end because I wasn't prepared for the tests.

Truly one of the most horrible math professors you will ever have. He doesn't teach. He puts a few problems up on the board but he's really bad at explaining anything. He makes jokes that make you feel dumb, and sits on his phone so he doesn't have to actually teach. Finite is difficult enough. Don't take him. I promise you will regret it.

Taking this professor was horrible. He's an aright guy and knows the material, but thinks everybody understands when nobody does. He's sarcastic and rude if you ask questions. This class is "reversed" teaching, so you watch videos at home and d pre-class assignments. Google and Youtube taught me way more than he did. DON'T TAKE HIM!

Finite is a difficult class in general, but Scroggin is terrible at teaching it! He will answer individual questions before or after class but rarely spends the time teaching a lesson. He seems indifferent to his teaching job, talks a lot about his real estate job. Would recommend this class but would not recommend this prof!

He looks at his phone during the entire class and barely goes over how we're supposed to do the homework. His attendance is mandatory for a class you could learn better online from YouTube. He's a sad excuse for a professor and he doesn't care. I emailed to ask for help with me CEA accommodations and he just never replied until I notified the Dean.

I had an online math class last semester, and the teacher was extremely helpful when it came to questions. Professor Scroggin is the total opposite. he NEVER answers emails about questions, and when he does he gives you a 3 word response that doesn't get you anywhere. I'm literally having to pay for tutoring to teach me the material!!!! HORRIBLE

I took Scroggin online last semester and not gonna lie, it sucked. I worked harder in that class than I did any other but failed half the tests and barely passed the final. He hardly responds to emails and when he does it's only a few words and didn't help whatsoever. The math wasn't too hard but I was literally teaching myself because he wasn't.

Says hes available outside of class but never responds to emails, will try and teach during class but will often make mistakes and have to restart, lots of homework, i recommend working on it during lecture after clicker questions, the UARK Finite youtube channel is very helpful. an A is possible but its very difficult

I would not take this professor. He doesnt really teach. He just puts problems on the board and says okay work in groups. Then after that he simply either just writes the answer on the board or doesnt ever finish working them out. I really am worried I will fail this upcoming test. Dont take him if you want to pass finite

Doesn't teach you AT ALL. Had to go to tutoring just to barely pass the class.

He is honestly one of the laziest teachers Ive ever had and I would not recommend.

very lazy professor reflects in his teaching. Does not communicate with students, you will need tutoring to get an A. Always late to class and doesn't know what's going on. Homework and a Quiz every week due on Sunday and the written assignments was the only time I went to class.

Tough grading because tests are graded by computers. Even an answer rounded wrong will get an entire 6 point question wrong. Class is taught by youtube videos that are not filmed by the teacher. The homework is due sometimes on Sundays at midnight, never on days you have class. Tests make up a large portion of youre grade. Hes not forgiving.

Professor Scroggin is a very bad professor. He has you watch videos instead of actually teaching the subject matter, however, when he does examples, he uses different methods to solve than the videos did. This leads to lots of confusion when trying to do homework. Scroggin obviously has no desire to teach and puts no effort in with his students.

Super bad at teaching. He doesn't teach at all. Makes you watch an hour worth of videos at the start of the chapter and you have to teach it to yourself. Slow email response and sometimes he doesn't even respond. He's a nice guy but he's not a good teacher

DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. The class is already difficult as it is and he doesn't cover most of the material on the homework. The videos he provides aren't very helpful most of the time. I feel like I would have been more successful with a different professor.

Lectures are not existent.

Finite Math is really not that hard but Scroggins is a terrible professor. He does not care for his students and only teaches on a whiteboard. He does an equation on the board and then says "okay got it?" with a run down expo marker that you cant even see.

Terrible teacher, Told my friend to figure it out himself when asked about a problem. Weekly quizzes, You will have to learn on your own. Classes are kinga pointless and a waste of time.

I was very frustrated by this professor. It was a struggle to get a good grade in this class because he does not teach. You will teach yourself everything through the videos and become very familiar with the tutoring services on campus. I highly recommend picking any other professor.

He is not good at teaching Finite Math and frequently communicates his desire to not being teaching it. I would not recommend his class. There are many better Finite Math teachers.

There are basic pre-class assignments before almost every class, which go loosely over what we will discuss in class. However, he does not teach once in class and jumps straight into complex topics not covered in the pre-class assignments, leaving everyone needing clarification. Also goes on several side tangents about his life

He's a very smart man but he is not good at explaining math concepts covered in the pre-class assignments. Clicker questions every class. He gets a bit condescending when talking to students. He answers emails but doesn't answer questions well. He leaves everyone feeling very confused throughout every class. Finite is too hard for him make no sense

I would recommend Robert to absolutely nobody. He makes attendance mandatory through clicker points even though you will learn absolutely nothing in the class. Robert has said multiple times how he isn't a fan of actually teaching so feel free to teach yourself. And don't bother asking his questions cause he doesn't like answering them.

Teaching style overall was incredibly condescending, I had to teach myself the majority of the course load because he was demeaning to students who asked questions.

He makes the class much harder than it needs to be. He's always getting off-topic in the lectures, and he is very unapproachable. The material for this class is difficult, and Robert Scroggin just makes it harder to learn.

He was very obviously smart, but did not know how to teach. He would quickly do problems in class, and not try to help students understand but just did them himself. He also required us to do the lesson before class, so I taught myself most of the material. Even if I went into class understanding something, I always left confused.
