This teacher is one of the best teachers. He may be a pain sometimes but you walk away knowing ALOT. He is very informant on the subjects he teaches and is avery fair and helpful man. Thanks Sir.

Mr. Shkorupa is a very caring teacher. He will do anything for anyone in need. But,he expects you to do your part. As long as you do what is required of you, you'll be fine. I would recommend him any day.

Great teacher: caring, down to earth, human, knowledgable, 98% easy-going, lively, helpful. Syllabus and instructions clear, very small, work load fine. Chapter presentation free-form, difficult to gauge what to teach on. Text was terrible, as were quizzes, sad that a better book isn't available.

He is a very interesting professor! He has a diff. teaching style; he loves discussion, open discussion. He gives all types of opportunities for students to learn all types of materials and experiences of other students in class by having each person present copies of their work studies for everyone in the class. Well-rounded knowledgeable teacher.

Great professor. He gives all the assignments the first day of class - with descriptions and due dates. These assignments are not hard. He is very knowledgeable (teaching for 42 years!) and very open to new opinions and ideas. Take him if you are willing to go to class and learn!

This teacher is great. Most of the class is discussion & he says there is no right or wrong as long as you give an opinion.. Do the few assignments that you are given & it should be an easy A. Plus you learn so much useful info about teaching. I was surprised at how much I liked the course. Definitely will use this teacher for all my EDU classes.

This is the second time I took Mr S. He is very fair and a great educator. There are a lot of assignments but they are fun and insightful. Make sure u contribute to the class discussion he expects that of all his students. Great professor!!!!!!!!!

Shkorupa makes class very interesting. Be sure to do all assignments & read your material. Class participation is a must; if a debate starts its hard to get back on track! I enjoyed this class & learned a lot.

I've had the pleasure of taking EDU classes from Shkorupa for 3 semesters now, and I'd take another if it was available. He's an intriguing personality that fosters a very cooperative learning environment. Be warned though, if you have issues with tardiness or turning in assignments on time, he will call you out on it. Highly Recommended!

I absolutely LOVED prof. Shkorupa!! I enjoyed his lectures and class discussions. He continuously stressed how important each student was and made us feel invaluable as future teachers. He's a stickler on attendance & assignments but his syllabus is very detailed allowing you to complete work ahead of time. I plan on taking every class he teaches.

Took cultural diversity class. Attendance is mandatory. The class is an open forum & all students have discussions w/ each other. There are weekly take home quizzes with 2 ch a week. You are assigned 1 ch to do a presentation on & a presentation on a child issue. He is blunt & honest. Show up, do your work & get an A. Taking him next semester! A+!

I absolutely love the way he conducts his class. The class discussions are the highlight of the course. Love all the real-life examples. He's got experience! Fun class and very helpfull.

I love Prof. Shkorupa! If you are an education major you have to take his classes. He is full of advice and years of teaching experience in elementary and secondary education. There are a lot of assignments, but not overwhelming, a few quizzes, a midterm and a final. There is also a 15 min. lesson plan you have to give. TAKE HIM!

I had Professor Shkorupa for my edu 202 and 280 and am taking him for 210. He is a wonderful instructor and very funny. He encourages an open classroom where everyone can speak and be heard. He encourages differences of opinions from the text when he does use it, which is rare. And best of all, he always responds to your emails the same day!

He is one awesome professor! Being an introductory class, he really captured my interest going into this field. There are a lot of simple assignments, but they are all very beneficial. He truly cares about the future educators. He is fun, creates a great learning environment, and is extremely useful to work with. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This professor is one of the best I've ever had! He's so helpful and he's very relate able, so it makes the class more fun and easier to understand. You are required though to speak in front of the class a lot, so try to not have a huge fear of public speaking. He is also very good at returning emails as soon as possible. I recommend him for sure!

He's there to help you, but you have to make the effort. Class is always fun and interesting, no matter what class it is he is teaching. Everyone should take his class at least once!

BEST TEACHER! So wonderful that I decided to take 3 of his classes. The class is fairy easy if you complete all the assignments on time and have no more than 2 absences, but the grading scale is a little different which is what can make getting an A a little difficult. MOST AWESOME TEACHER! Enthusiastic and fun.

Professor S is absolutely amazing, He is very fast at responding to emails and answers any questions you may have. During discussions he is very good about listening to everyone's point of view before putting in his 2 cents. He is funny and you almost always get out early!

I absolutely love professor Shkorupa. He is absolutely hilarious and he makes Nevada Law fun. There aren't a lot of assignments and he is a really easy grader. If he sees that you put thought into what you do, you'll be fine. I highly recommend taking his course.

Although there are quite a few assignments in this class, all of them are relatively easy but they are also educational, thought provoking, and enjoyable. Mr. S is the kinda guy you want to hug 5 minutes after meeting him! He's the type of man you invite to BBQ's and family functions because you're proud to call him your friend. I've taken 201 and 210 w him & he's one of my favorite professors. He's helpful, replies to e-mails quickly, & doesn't make you feel like an idiot for asking questions. I respect him & how he genuinely wants you to do well. He's funnyfriendly, but not an easy-A. You HAVE TO read the textbook, show up to class on time, & write essays. Don't text!

Shkorupa is my favorite professor I have had and even though I am not taking him this semester I wish there was a class I could take with him. He is one of those professors that stay with you, that make an imprint on your heart and you carry with you for a lifetime.

His syllabus is everything. It is highly organized and contains all of the crucial information you need before each class- except the specific dates of tests. For reading: know the bold print(210) or key words(202), though 210 more than minimum reading is recommended. Presentations and writing assignments for homework. Always invites discussion.

One of the best teacher's I've had at CSN without a doubt, he wants all his students to be successful. If you put the time in so will great ol' Bob, who is without a doubt the most experienced and best education teacher at CSN.

Easy class if you keep up with your work. Professor was awesome but at times a little snappy. Don't be on your phone because he definitely has no problem calling people out. Get ready for many group projects, that's the only way class was really taught. Overall an enjoyable class with many emotions and laughter.

He is one of the best professor's I have ever had. He is simple, to the point, let's you know what is expected, and makes the class fun. He conveys his message across really well, and I enjoyed his class a lot. Come to class, pay attention, and do your work for that A.

I took his law class and his diversity class and did well in both. He is a nice guy with clear expectations and gives lots of constructive criticism. There is a lot of work to do, but if you follow the grading sheet he gives out, you will have no problem. I got A's in both classes and enjoyed my time in them for the most part.

Professor Shkorupa by far is the best! Although his classes require work, the projects are incredibly beneficial & I am a better for them. He has made such an impact on my life that I wish that I had a personal connection with him. I would do anything for him to be my crazy uncle that I never had!! Best professor at CSN. Took him for Law, Diversity, and Intro to Elem Ed. Shkorupa is very personable and has amazing stories that relate to everything we're learning. He always makes the classroom comfortable for everyone and it's always a good time. There is work though - just listen in class and follow the syllabus, you will pass.

40+ yrs of teaching wisdom and Prof. S. loves his students. He worries about them. He rejoices when they succeed. It is likely that you will become attached to him, so be ready to walk over coals for him, because you will want to. I mean it. Thank you, Prof. S. I will revere you for the rest of my life and will honor you every day that I teach.

Definitely take this guy at CSN. Attendance is mandatory. Assignments are all in syllabus and up to you to keep track of. Helpful with your community service/observation assignments. His sense of humor may be offensive to some so go in with some thick skin. Open minded to different viewpoints so don't be afraid to openly discuss topics in class!

Great Class. He is opinionated but is NOT trying to offend anyone and is happy to apologize if he does. He allows class discussions and will listen to others opinions. Read the syllabus and follow it he will not remind you what is due unless you ask. Easy class if you put in the time and effort. He makes learning fun and is always there if needed.

This class is run by the students. He just facilitates and does so very well. Discussions are encouraged. Great teacher. If you do the work you will pass. Lots of presentations. Opinionated prof. but doesn't mean to hurt feelings or offend. Very fun class and environment. Highly recommend.

I absolutely LOVE Shkroupa. He is the best professor I have ever had at CSN. He's very helpful and understanding. You will have a mid term, Final, and roughly 5 or so tests throughout the semester. The tests can be tough if you don't study. I will continue to take his classes. He does tend to get off topic sometimes, but his discussions are great!

I took 3 classes with Prof Shkorupa: EDU 202, 210, 280. I would take more if I could. I just left my last day of my last class with him and I am more motivated and inspired to teach than ever before. He covers what is needed to empower you to teach but most of all, he teaches you to love the kids and avoid stereotypes. My favorite Professor of all.

Professor Shkorupa focuses more on engaging students with interaction and assigns very little work. Most assignments are simple and require little work. My only disappointment with Professor Shkorupa is that I have taken every class I can of his, and cannot have him as an instructor in the future. He lectures in a very easy going manner and involves all the students in topical discussions. He is warm, friendly and an excellent instructor. Highly recommended

Prof. Shokupa is an amazing professor! He cares so much about his students! If you're an education major be ready to have an amazing professor that inspires his students. But beware you have alot of projects to do. But overall they're a lot of work but if you do bad or turn in late he understands and lets you redo it. I recommend one hunnid!

I have taken this professor for 3 different classes and every time I have him, I extremely enjoy my semester. He makes great syllabi and his lessons are interactive and fun. If you want to go into education, this is the man to take to help you succeed!

Most of your grade is based off of three presentations. Then you have take home chapter quizzes that are due each week. There are confusing questions sometimes, but missing them won't affect your grade as long as your do them regularly and do well on your presentations. It is very enjoyable and you get to know your classmates.

The course consists of a few tests, and a presentation on your interpretation of a cartoon. Lots of engaging class discussions too. I'm going to miss taking his classes.

While his teaching methods didn't entirely mesh with my learning style, I did still thoroughly enjoy Shkorupa's class. He focuses more on media for presenting ideas and topics, and discussion is a big component in the class. He is very understanding, helpful, and a genuinely caring professor. Attendance and field observation are mandatory.

I recently took his class, and considering that it was also my first year of college it was pretty easy. We do have homework but we do have extra credit. He's a wonderful teacher and i would do it all over again.

I have taken Professor Shkorupa for two semester now and plan on taking him for a third. He's one of the funniest professor's I have had and is structured as well. His classes are very easy if you do the assignments which are in it of themselves fairly easy as well. Most of the class is comprised of discussions. The class is fun yet insightful.

Let me start off by saying that in my three years of college I've had so far, I've had VERY exceptional professors. Mr. Shkorupa is for sure in my TOP THREE best instructors by far! He is a sweet and fun guy and his lessons are extremely informative and easy to understand. He's a very fair grader and it's easy to get an A in his class! Take him!

Mr. Shkorupa did a great job at teaching his diversity class. If you're looking at this website because you're skeptical of a diversity class, this is the one to take. Pros: fair, down to earth, creates a real teaching eviorment. Cons: almost too fair, too down too earth, creates too real of a teaching eviorment.

He played a movie for us the last day of class and I still showed up. It was a great movie, would watch again. Do yourself a favor and take his class, he models what education is.

Mr. Shkorupa is the perfect example of what an education professor should be. He's a fantastic lecturer, funny as heck, and very caring toward everyone. He's crystal clear in all of his lectures and provides videos and other materials to get his point across 100%. Also, his syllabus breaks everything down week by week. He's basically perfect.

Professor Shkorpua is great! His Edu 280 class consists of 3 presentations and various take home tests. After you have finished the three presentations you are essentially done with the "hardest" portion of the class. This class in conjunction with a difficult class is great so you can focus on the harder class and still get your Edu class credits

He really cares about his students. He goes out of his way to make sure you are doing exceptional in his class without pushing too hard. The more participation you do in his class the better. He is what I strive to be as teacher one day.

Professor Shkorupa is awesome! He does tend to get off topic during lecture, but those complaining about not knowing when assignments are due is probably because they didn't read the syllabus. Due dates are clearly laid out and you will need to refer to the syllabus regularly.

He sends out a pdf file of every due date for the whole semester. Sometimes his explanations for assignments is a little unclear but he will usually extend the date if you email in advance with you confusion.

Professor Shkorupa is a really fair professor. He is very understanding and, in my opinion, tries to help out a student as much as possible.

He is just an amazing teacher. He has been in the district for a while and has been teacher for even longer so he knows his way around. He is always current with news relating to teaching. Conversations are amazing. He posts everything on Canvas. I'd suggest printing out your data sheet and checking with him often to know your final grade. Amazing!

I love him and im taking him again next semester for 280! show up and listen to his lectures. Chill and super funny! he asks how your day is and he plays funny videos! Okay so there is a hefty bit of work, however, he thoroughly lays it all out within his syllabus including the due dates. There is frequent quizzes about terms from the textbook. However, it's all fairly easy if you can get down a good schedule and have self sufficiency. He has an enjoyable personality and great stories!

This professor went above and beyond when extending assignment due dates due to COVID-19. Every lecture was fun, engaging, educational and insightful. Dr. Shkorupa is probably my top 5 favorite people in the entire universe. He is so passionate about what he does and is the most caring, funniest teacher to all his students. His online class was a little hard to navigate at first because he only uses the 'files' on Canvas, but the assignments are straightforward and he answers student emails quick. You have to do the Field Observation and the Praxis which can feel like extra work but he has a great week-by-week syllabus to help. Read, do the work, and you can get an A.

I took this class online and it was a bit difficult to navigate at first because he has everything under "Files". The syllabus is straight forward and tells you which assignments and tests are due for every week. Just do the assignments and you'll get an A

If he learned canvas he would be perfect but he uploads a mess of files and forgets to grade some papers. He is so helpful and kind. Hes how a teacher should care for his students. Just PLEASE use canvas properly Mr SH! Super good teacher and class and homework just poor utilisation of canvas.

Professor Shkorupa is an AMAZING professor and given the circumstances that we endured this past year he did his absolute best. I took his online class for the 2021 spring semester. And I will admit, at first I was a little lost. EVERYTHING is on the syllabus and make sure you read EVERY word! and he is super fast at responding to any questions!

This class was easy and informative! I ended up buying the textbook out after having just rented it because I felt like it had so much important information! It was a bit confusing to figure out in the beginning, but the syllabus literally has everything you need to do on it. If you follow the syllabus, easy A!

Some have complained that he only used files in Canvas. Tip print the syllabus and mark of assignments when done. This was a easy A in my book. Most weeks were answer questions from the book. There was 2 major assignments and two test. He graded quickly and responded to emails in a timely manner.

His class is very easy if you do the work. I wish he used canvas more properly but instead he just puts everything into files. You do presentations based on the topic you choose. Be aware of what date you sign up for and be prepared. The quizzes are easy just learn the lecture terms and read the book. Theres a midterm and final as well.

solid class, he is a very easy grader mainly grades off you just trying not if its correct. He let me turn in assignments late for full credit! Although, I ended up turning assignments in late since he does not use canvas so it was hard to keep track of due dates but whatever. Take his class easy A!

This professor is not for everybody, but im still glad I took him. He's not online savvy. But he is an easy grader and gives very kind and easy feedback. Syllabus is very word heavy, so ready it multiple times, or you'll definitely miss dates. Overall good professor, just wish he used Canvas. Still a good professor though.

You can tell that this professor truly cares about what he teaches. He isn't online savvy at all but clearly explains how to find everything that is needed. You have to show up to class, but the assignments are easy and he gives multiple opportunities for extra credit. He makes some comments that show his age, but I thought he was a great professor

Professor was very understanding, he isn't the best with technology as he has the entire course on a file so it was difficult at first trying to find due dates but I got the hang of it. There is weekly chapter tests, two slideshow presentations, chapter reviews towards the end of the semester. This class also required 10 hours community service.

I took two of his EDU online classes, and enjoyed both. As long as you keep track of the syllabus and each assignment, this class is very straightforward. 280 requires 10 hours of service-learning/community service hours. I completed mine at Three Square, and was grateful for the experience. Answers questions quickly, and cares about his students.

Have taken him for 202 and 210. Very easy courses; one in person; one online. Assignments are easy and straightforward.

Took his class, and it was really easy. Assignments are a bit confusing to find, and you have to calculate your own grade and keep track of your assignments because he DOES NOT use Canvas like other professors; everything is in the files tab, which makes it confusing. Other than that, I enjoyed this course.

Professor Shkorupa is awesome! You have to be ready to be confused when finding course assignments and figuring out how to do them. But he is very kind &understanding. If you explain that you are confused, he will respond and try to answer your questions clearly. The syllabus is a lot, and so are the files, so take notes and write everything down.

His class is very disorganized and you might crash out in the beginning so be prepared BUTTT once you get the hang of it, it is so easy and he is always there to help. Literally one of my fav professors, he doesn't grade harshly and reaches out to remind you about assignments if you are behind or missing something. TAKE HIM!

Once you realize that the majority of the class materials are in the files (make sure you check them all thoroughly, as he's more disorganized than an unsolved Rubik's Cube), this class is overall very easy, basic reading and writing, and easy quizzes, and the field observation, which can be a pain, but it's doable.
